Lere Olayinka: Prisoner of Conscience. Update: I have been reliably informed that Mr Olayinka, a journalist, and the Chief Press Officer to the National Vice Chairman of PDP SW, Chief Segun Oni, who was arrested yesterday, 09/10/12, by policemen attached to the Ekiti state Govt House remains in detention. Available information is that he was tortured, dragged on the ground, subjected to inhuman and degrading treatment by these policemen. He has so far been denied access to medical treatment for his injuries sustained at the hands of the Ekiti state Govt House security men. It is unbelievable and unacceptable for a journalist to be so subjected to such level of brutality and degrading treatment in a democratic Nation like Nigeria.. This is an affront on democracy , freedom and free speech that must be condemned, resisted by all well meaning Nigerians. Ekiti people and Nigerians will hold Ekiti state Gov. Dr Kayode Fayemi and the ACN leadership responsible for this affront on Mr Olayinka's freedom and fundamental human rights. We are using this medium to appeal to the IGP and the Ekiti state CP to ensure that Mr Olayinka is no longer subjected to any form of maltreatment physically or psychologically, granted access to medical treatment, access to legal services, and released immediately and unconditionally , without further delay. Dr Bunmi Olorunfemi. Concerned Ekiti, Nigeria Citizen. |

Authorities of the Police Special Task Force investigating the case of perjury and alleged perversion of justice against communication giant, MTN, over Justice Ayo Salami’s telephone interaction with ACN leaders in the Osun and Ekiti tribunal judgments saga, have uncovered alleged deceit of the communication firm in the matter following MTN’s admittance, Tuesday, that the phone number which they earlier claimed belonged to one ‘Tunde Folawiyo’ is owned by former Lagos State governor and ACN leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Vanguardgathered that a new round of investigation into alleged conspiracy by Justice Salami prior to the judgment in the Osun and Ekiti states governorship elections petitions was sequel to a petition to the Inspector General of Police by former Osun State governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola which the IG tasked the CP Ali Amodu-led Special Task Force to investigate. In the petition entitled ‘A Case of Perjury Against Mr. Rotimi Odusola, Senior Manager, Commercial Legal, MTN Nigeria Communications Ltd’, Oyinlola requested the police to investigate allegations of false evidence by MTN officials before the National Judicial Council, NJC, panel which initially disowned the ‘Call Logs’ presented to the panel as not authentic. Confronted with Oyinlola’s petition, MTN officials claimed the company gave out several SIM cards to the Lagos State Government a long time ago and provided the Police with photographs of supposed current users of the telephone lines. However, while providing additional information to the Police, Oyinlola’s principal witness, Mr. Adeolu Oyinlola, claimed that MTN was being economical with the truth. He stated categorically that it was the fact of the telephonic interactions between and among Action Congress of Nigeria chieftains, its lawyers, Justice Ayo Salami and his bosom friend, Tunji Ijaiya, which MTN desperately tried to cover up from the National Judicial Council’s Special Investigative Panel, that led it (MTN) to manipulate the call data records it transmitted to the panel, through the law enforcement and security agencies. Both numbers, Mr. Adeolu Oyinlola claimed, belong to Bola Tinubu; one registered in the name of the ACN leader’s aide, Gbadegesin Ademola, while the other is registered in the name of Tunde Folawiyo, who is a Director at MTN. Consequently, it was gathered that the Police have asked MTN to produce the documents (driver’s license, utility bill, crossed cheque, passport photos) it collected from the supposed owners of the two controversial lines, prior to accepting them on the telecoms company’s post-paid platform. Also, the Nigerian Communications Commission has reportedly been served with a court order to release the biometric data of the owners of the two lines. It would be recalled that following the testimony of the communication giants, NJC absolved Salami and the other justices of the election tribunal of any ethical breach. The call logs disowned by the MTN were allegedly sourced from Area G Police Command in Lagos, during investigation, making former Governors Oyinlola and Segun Oni to suspect that the MTN was acting a script to pervert the course of justice. Officials quizzed for about 5 hrs The telecoms officials, who were quizzed for about five hours by the police, Tuesday, at Force Headquarters and later released on bail, according to sources, tried in vain to convince detectives why the numbers were registered in the names of persons other than the real user, but this was interpreted as a ploy by the communication company to cover up the identity of the real subscribers. It would be recalled that Police investigators had earlier been told by MTN officials that a second line said to belong to Tinubu was owned by one Abdusalam Rasheed. Meanwhile, Police sources told Vanguard that the MTN official who initially testified before the National Judicial Council Panel, one Rotimi Odusola who is also facing allegation of perjury for giving false evidence in his affidavit before the court, recanted, Tuesday, and admitted that the call logs were provided to the Area ‘G’ Police Commander by the company. Odusola had initially claimed in his statement on oath that MTN’s systems could not accommodate more than three months call records but when confronted with call data records from his company, showing that such records of up to a period spanning five months can be accessed, he resorted to pleadings, saying the situation could only be explained by the technical officials of the company. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/07/salami-force-hqtrs-grills-mtn-officials-over-call-logs-for-5-hours/ |

Lately I have been having a hard time downloading files as small as 7mb via my opera (although it has no trouble downloading 3-4mb files). I used Operamini 7 on a BB9000, any clues about how and what I can do to make things work better? |
I called for like 3 days in a row, they keep complaining that their machine is faulty and there is no way they can check my transactions. At last they told me that my Nokia E75 has some sort of automatic update. You need to see the speed at which I deleted all their configurations from the phone. Things has returned to normal since then but sadly their call rate has since skyrocketed |
I dread the night each time I have airtime left on my phone. I'm not a money bag, so am mindful of my pennies. I realise that most nights about N30 is usually deducted from my account but of late now, the inglorious act has escalated. I woke up to a neatly wiped account. I have emailed Glo customer care 3 times this week already with something close to an automated response promising my complaint will be looked into. I have also logged my complain on their web portal and lastly this morning, I put a call across to their customer care and after about 30 mins wait, I was connected and their representative tried to push around the blame but am convinced I didn't put up for any long throat package. He later told me the machine he could have used to check my transaction is not running at the moment and that I should call back. Is anybody going through the same harrowing experience? Do we have anybody that can help proffer solution in the house? Please note: I don't intend to change to another network, I just want this headache fixed. Thank you for your time and anticipated response! |
I just got a new Sprint Dell Inspiron 11z (1121) Laptop, other than being ripped off with a 3-cell battery instead of the supposed 6-cell written on the box, the system has a SIM SLOT under the battery, my latest worry now is how to get it up and running with any of the available 3G/4G network in Nigeria. Any help will be appreciated please! |
Can I get one with 2G RAM at an affordable price? I don't mind if it is an upgrade. Can you send it to Akure, Ondo state for me? |
Have we seen the end of glo infinito? How come glo laid that beautiful plan to rest without informing its customers? What other plan do you recommend.....NOTA BENI: I find anything with daily access charge repulsive....over to you! |
@ Ileke-Idi, you don't just put people's name up to appeal to sentiment. Segun Oni is clean as far as substantiated allegations are concerned. Pls don't ride on your ego as one of the foremost Ekiti here to speak jargon fuelled by sentiments on what you know little or nothing about. . .no love lost |

I watch with dismay the silence of our very vocal human right activist and a section of the media to the ongoing NJC PROBE PANEL looking into the alleged corrupt practises dotting Justice Ayo Salami leads judgement on Ekiti and Osun guber elections. The panel sitting is at an advance stage now, call logs showing the honorable judge making contact with the side he allegedly favoured in his ruling, before and after the day of the judgement has been presented to the panel, confirmed by the NSA and service providers. I wonder why this new is not making the headline and why nairalander are looking the other way, a corrupt judiciary will swerve the nation off its road to eldorado. We simply cannot afford to remain gagged about an issue as sensitive as this! |
May God punish GEJ if any of this is true. He does not know what he is worth to the millions of Nigeria rooting for him and i will lose my interest in him definitely. If he enters into this alliance like has been discussed above (which i doubt) then the future is brighter for looters. GEJ should know he is the most sellable of all presidential aspirant and should not enter into any unwholly alliance, quote me anywhere, GEJ will win SouthWest (although i'm not sure about Lagos) states irrespective of the ruling parties in these states. Other than winning through Salami, Tinubu is not an authority in the Southwest. |
Hello girl, i thank heaven for the beautiful time we had together. You were the best any man with a sense could have those times we were together but i'm more thankful to heaven for your last message that reads "Dipo, i'm jealous of your girlfriend you are simply the best!", i'm equally glad you now regret breaking my heart after all the good things we had going. Diamonds are forever, don't hesistate to put a call across anytime. . . . .cooldipo |
