Shampoo77: Same with me, I applied first week of April and by June I was got an SMS that I should upload my bank statements of one year and send within 78 hours which I did and I called afterwards but was told that they have migrated their approval system to another pattern since they no longer need suretees and guarantors and that those of us that applied first week of April should hold on as they will get back to us and up till today no information from them. I have called several times and was told that ours will be approved later on so I just have to forget them for now till anytime they are ready for me so that my blood pressure will not go up because of a loan that am not sure of. I don't like troubling myself for things like this and this is my first time commenting concerning this loan. Pls don't worry yourself much because of this as you may develop sickness so chill out if it comes thank God if it did not come life goes on.. cheers to all. Peterpage14: no army shot at any protesters ok
shots were fired into the air to make them go back home cause their was a curfew which was meant to keep us safe .
injuries sustained was caused by stamped .
I'm yet to see any hospital issue out a victim with bullet wound or any morgue with dead bodies with bullet wounds .
let's be mindful what we spread Shots fired into the air to disperse protesters.. And it caused stampede...Yet to see victims with bullet wounds. You ain't smart at all or you just trolling. Please, it's sometimes good to hold our breath before typing. May we not be the victim of stampede or bullet wound before we believe or respect the dead. Keeping shut helps alot |
Politics › Re: If You Are The President Of Nigeria, what Will You Do In Situations Like This? by coolhuster: 8:15pm On Oct 21, 2020 |
JuanDeDios: Take some specific actions. I wrote this in another thread - a day or before Lekki happened.
The police's response to this was the usual - issue a statement and wait for it to go away. But the young folks showed they were serious this time so the police leadership are miming. No real change has been made, either on the part of police leadership or the state.
If I were the IG, I'd issue a statement like - We have arrested so and so number for prosecution for murder, torture and extortion; fire so and so number for witnessing murder and failing to report it; demoted so and so number for failing to rein in officers under their command; so and so number are still under investigation. We are redrafting our training and putting in place measures to ensure only worthy people are recruited, including background checks like it's done elsewhere. (I've been saying red for years. Try entering the FBI - they will interview your grandmother, you classmates, your brother's ex-girlfriend, your former neighbours from 10 years, etc.)
If I were the president, I'd issue a statement like - I am sorry the government failed the youth for so long by letting the police kill unchecked and tell people 'I will kill you and nothing will happen'; the IG has been fired and the new IG has my instructions to root out the system of "returns" within the force; the NHRC board has been reconstituted; as we speak, 20 states and FG have constituted their panels (less than 10 states have so far) and the remaining states and the FCT are working on it - those with proven cases of suffering unduly at the hands of the police with compensated; the federal and state AGs are working overtime to prosecute culprits; the PSC is being reconstituted with a mandate to ensure the system of returns is rooted from the force - the members will be announced tomorrow; I am increasing a constable's salary by 75% with immediate effect and my VP is working on a report for a comprehensive improvement of police welfare, including financial provision for the family of those who died serving their country; etc.
But you know what? We're dealing with an institutional rot, so I doubt the IG can make the statement above - he's a beneficiary of the system. The entire police leadership knew about these murders and aided and abetted them. Nothing they tell you is to be believed. The police can't change itself - only the FG can do it. And where is the president? Let's not go there. That's all..It would have quenched the fire. |

YungMillionaire: Develop the South with what? Money collected mainly from the South but controlled by the Northern elites? Anytime, the North want to distabilize the South, all they have to do is employ their military dark ops - just like they are doing right now. They have the numbers. The military is 100% in their control. The control the monies/resources even while contributing the least. And you are here thinking they will allow you to develop the South? Where you born yesterday?
Look there are ONLY two options for South to be free from slavery:
1. True Federalism (aka Regionalism) or 2. Outright secession.
Any other option is just tantamount to blowing wind up your yanch. Singapore has nothing. Good leadership brought them to their present state. |
Crime › Re: Burna Boy And Footballer Ighalo Houses Under Hoodlums Attack by coolhuster: 7:03pm On Oct 21, 2020 |
YungMillionaire: Southerners are foolish. You notice Northern youths are not protesting. What does that tell you? Because, I see all these ENDSARS asking for the benefits of democracy. But in Nigeria democracy is in the hands of Northerners because they are the majority. So, if the Northerners don't want what you want, you will never get it UNDER Nigerian democracy. What the South should be asking for is:
1. Regionalism or 2. Secession. Otherwise, you are just wasting your time.
After you burn down Lagos and the SW, then last last you will return back to the same Nigerian democracy where the North will continue to determine WHAT you get.
Stupid people all over the South. Shame on you. That might be your view and opinion Even if power remains in the North, at least Southerners will be involved. With the current situation, politics has been re-defined in the South No more political jobbers. You think before contesting for election or take up an appointment Godfatherism has been erased Youths have demanded respect from their leaders. Any elected person to any political post will endeavour not to take the youths for granted. Greediness will reduce to the barest minimum The private sector will be preferred than getting close to politics This evidently brings development to the South We might not be fighting for power but stability, growth and development which will take the North years despite their population to achieve if they break from the jaws of their leaders. |

Dumb leaders. Those are the days you have large gatherings. Defaulters would be difficult to control hence, the measure. Sometimes, it is not about the policy, it is about us. Imagine, those days are free, we both know that some religious houses will open and parties would be all over the event centres. Criticism is good however, it should be constructive to avoid hatred. |

Carchoice: i don’t know why you people are making marriage sound like it’s a war zone. You married the wrong person no doubt. We all get to find out after marriage.
Here’s the truth of the matter, it’s either you married the wrong person or YOU ARE THE WRONG PERSON. My brother, no one is making marriage look scary. It is easier said than done. Nobody ever planned to go into marriage to divorce. Everyone envisage a happy home but when things don't go as planned, if care is not taken, that's the END. So, it is not always about getting married to the wrong person or being the wrong person. I am a social worker, I have seen best of friends become worst enemies. Close pals to the family wondered why everything got so awkward early. If not for confidentiality purpose, I would narrate a recent case. In my agency, we have even concluded that it is not about the right people getting into marriage, it is about matured and prepared minds. |

Ingriid: Oh! U men really brought out d right words out of my mouth. I tell u what, finance plays a very big role in a successful marriage. To my friends, sisters and ladies around me I tell them it’s good to be a wife, infact very good, to be a mother is one of d blessings in d world, d tot of bringing a baby to this world tickles my fancy. Trust me that is not just enough for a woman. A woman should not and never be comfortable to just be a mother or a wife.
I will forever use women like omotola, Beyoncé, Ngozi Okonkwo-Iwela and d late Dora Akunyili(RIP) as my role models. God created us for a purpose and we should strive to fulfill it.
To d men also, why be in a hurry to get married when u are not settled financially?by been settled, I’m not saying u should have millions in ur account but just be settled enough to take care of ur family. ( we both should do exploits in our marriage)
Going forward, men and women should bring something to d table, PLAN well before u get married! Very important |

zeb04: At one point in marriage, the hot sex and mushy mushy disappears what is left is Respect and Friendship.
I use to worry about this word FRIENDSHIP. I wanted to force it on my husband coz I heard a lot a out it.
In my head friendship is talking and laughing 24/7. But my husband is "fluent in silence" content in just laying down and saying nothing. So I felt we didn't have friendship. But now I know better.
[s]2ndly I believed only a Christian man can give you a good marriage. By Christian i mean going to church 2/3 times a week, participating in church activities, doing morning devotion and all,[/s]
A man with a good moral compass and also give you a good home. Don't force all of that on your partner. I still do devotions with my kids but go to church every Sunday (with my husband but I don't force him for this one. Secretly I think he is doing it as family bonding time not really for anything else. I will take it)
I believe every marriage goes through its rough path. Mine was 2 years into the marriage. NO. Any man who is liberal, open-minded and ready to keep a home makes a good home. We have Pastors and Reverend fathers who do not have good homes. They attend church service 7/7, do early morning devotion and can recite the bibble very well. |

Family › Re: Marriage: Before And After by coolhuster: 3:35pm On May 28, 2020 |
pippimp: It's complicated. Hi Dyt. The most important thing you have to bear in mind is the person you eventually marry will not be the same person in 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, etc. As human beings we want experiences and those experiences change us for the good or the bad. The ability to have and keep a healthy and happy marriage is the realization that changes in the character, physique and attitude of your spouse will occur and you have to adapt to these changes. When you get a job, have a baby, go to school while working, etc will put pressure on you and definitely alter the way you behave. You and your spouse must adapt to these changes. Another problem is this mindset, especially among women that because you are married your mission is accomplished. Girl, that is when the work really begins. Remember, there was a reason he married you and you married him. It is hard but both parties have to try on a daily basis to keep the illusion going. Not trying to do so is one of the main reasons people cheat. "Oh she's getting fat". "Can you imagine, he now has a pot belly", etc. Believe it or not, my wife literally looks the same way she did the day i met her more than 20 years ago. Yes i know it's hard to believe. It's didn't just happen by magic. As i am typing this, she is downstairs doing jumping jacks, sit ups, push ups, and whatever exercises in her regimen to keep her shape and keep looking sexy for me. This after 3 kids. She will put any 20 year old to shame with the way she looks. She's 44 but you'd think she was 24 by looking at her. On my part i'm lucky. My job requires me to be extremely fit and look good so i ain't got a choice. Lastly, finances. If both your finances are screwed up then both of you are screwed. It will not matter how sexy you are or how handsome he is. This is the reason both parties have to plan and make joint decisions in matters relating to their financial future. I had to learn this the hard way early on. Marriage ain't easy but if you can master these 3 core foundations of change, finances, and physical well being you'll always be ahead of the game. Always. Boss, the bolded nearly tore me into pieces. I just realised that basic theory. Men need to be very careful when it comes to finances. You need to hustle and make sure your wife is doing something. Don't for any reason make her a full time house wife. Savings is very important. |
