logica:
Dude, what people are driving at was AMCON bought those huge debts but did NOT actively go after those debtors. If Jonathan did not lose to Buhari, it is possible these guys would've gotten away with it. And of course, guess where the money AMCON used to buy these debts came from? Aha.
No. That is not what they are driving at.
This is how they have driven so far.

1) "They took these debts under GEJ. Corrupt GEJ draining the nation."

Once they saw that the dates fell within the GEJ days because that was when the debts where being bought over by AMCON to prevent the banks from bending over...

2) They insinuated these guys used "oga at the top" influence to acquire these loans

Once they saw the foolishness in suggesting GEJ influenced the bankers in deciding who to give their money to as in the form of loans...

3) You now say AMCON did not actively go after those debtors...

...of course, assuming most of us are not aware of what has been happening with AMCON over the years. Please, I for one know that AMCON has recovered debts (but not much) and their travails in trying to recover these debts has been in the public news. The challenges with regards to debt collection in general, and relationship management especially when the debt handlers have been changed, have been discussed in the public domain.

I know you don't know much about this and that just like most other Nigerians, their attention has now been draw to AMCON on account of the recent move against a senator who just happens to be popular. If that move had not been made, folks would not be freely making uninformed statements about AMCON. In fact, there are many here who had not heard the name before.

But just to throw some light on what folks in the industry know to have been the challenge of AMCON...

1) As you can see from their statement, they have 12,744 obligors

2) Are you aware they have to study all 12,744 cases individually and understand them?

3) Are you aware that they then have to establish relationships with all 12,744 individuals/legal entities?

4) Then they have to do the work of actually restructuring the debts (which of course is done on a case-by-case basis)

5) Now this does not include the personal follow ups (threatening + petting ) that must be carried out on all 12,744 (twelve thousand, seven hundred and forty four) cases

6) Some cases will need the court (will involve some court processes). How many did they end up being? 200? 100? 300?

7) These 12,744 (twelve thousand, seven hundred and forty four) legal entities are not all based in one city in Nigeria.

If you want to go after GEJ you've got to use something else. This one just doesn't cut it.

I for one would not have voted for GEJ last year if not that they pitched someone I considered a bad alternative but that does not in any way make GEJ the one who initiated the request for loans by business entities across Nigeria, nor does it make him the internal reason why these businesses failed to pay their debts.

In fact, the very thing he did, which was done publicly, was create AMCON and begin recovering the debts (to protect the banks from hurting and causing a negative effect on our economy)

Them no dey do "oga at the top" for borrowing money in the banks.

The bank version of "oga at the top" them dey call am, "Guarantor"

Guarantor mean say you go sign with your own hand say if the person no pay na you go pay.

Anything order than that where loan day, you no be "oga at the top" (and nobody dey look your face)

So from where you imagine say GEJ or other govt official do "oga at the top" for
any of these borrowers in any of the banks across Nigeria?

Both of you got it wrong because the loans were taken before GEJ got in power and Date of Purchase refers to the date when AMCON bought up the bad debts from the banks (saving them) and began the task of restructuring and debt recovery.

So can you see how seriously out-of-place and uninformed those comments are?

“Is Ben Bruce the only person who owes money in Nigeria?”
“Dangote owes N209 billion but Bruce owes only N11 billion, yet Dangote is walking free”
"In fact, Buhari is a tyrant, Buhari is a dictator, a Hilter, a devil, a destroyer, we want freedom, bla bla bla…."

These are the sort cringe inducing statements spewed into cyberspace since yesterday by ‘the usual suspects,’ most of whom are supposed to be the so called leaders of tomorrow. 99% of the people spewing these thing have no clue what it means to service a loan, neither do they have a clue how AMCON operates.

They have also intentionally turned a blind eye or are just plainly ignorant of the fact that Ben Bruce is not the first person to have his business possessed; a mere application of the Common Sense which Mr Bruce has been trying hard to impart on these folks should have told them that bad loans have nothing to do with Buhari or APC or PDP or religion or region.

Just last month, AMCON possessed the business of Alhaji Sani Dangote (Bulk Pack Services Ltd) for bad loans; Sani Dangote is the younger brother of Alhaji Aliko Dangote. We did not hear this senseless cry of Buhari Buhari Buhari!!
http://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2016/05/26/amcon-takes-over-sani-dangotes-asset/
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/05/debt-recovery-amcon-takes-dangotes-bulk-pack-services-ltd/

Just 3-4 days ago, this same AMCON also repossessed properties of Mr Jimoh Ibrahim due to a defaulted N50 billion loan, they even went further to freeze his accounts. We also did not hear any shouts of Buhari!
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/06/n50bn-debt-amcon-takes-jimoh-ibrahims-firms-freezes-bank-accounts/

Many other takeovers have been undertaken by AMCON in recent times from Bacita Sugar to G. Cappa to Bi-Courtney to Aero to Arik etc, most of these bad loans were bought by AMCON when they took over failed banks. All these happened under Yaradua, GEJ and then Buhari and never for once have we ever heard of people accusing the president for these, but now we have the Buhari hate factor.

It is sad to note how the reasoning of Nigerian youths have been so degraded; everything these days is viewed as witch-hunt, assault, attack, oppression and marginalisation even when glaring evidence proves otherwise. A lot of our folks need to emancipate themselves from this mental slavery.
If folks were quick to consider the AMCON-Bruce saga a deliberate move by the administration against key voices outside its party, it is because a precedent for doing this has (much as we may not like or admit it) already been set.

I understand why people are suspicious on this anti corruption fight. Just take a look around you, the fight is solely targeted at the opposition. Which doesn't portend well for our democracy. Had it been that this fight for corruption is meted in equal proportion to the officials in govt, APC members then nobody could have been doubting the sincerity of govt fighting this monster called corruption. The truth is that all nigerians will support and appreciate this fight against corruption the very moment is not dented with politics, primordial interest, ethnic colouration, etc.

Look at what is happening today. Almost all the accused are from a particular party. Which supposed not to be so. This is why a case like that of Senator Ben Bruce and AMCON though he maybe guilty may not go down well with most nigerians. We should not give room for public opinion to go in favour of a corrupt individual (confirmed by a competent court not on pages of newspaper) simply because the actions of govt are viewed to be skewd, partial, bias, favoring only his party officials. This is what will define or destroyed the fight for corruption in this govt. Yes, govt has good intentions to fight corruption but it's modus operandi is too bias, suspicious and it's seems to be targeting only the perceived opponents even when govt has a genuine case to follow it to a logical end. I JUST WANT TO MAKE A COMMON SENSE.
It is not even a crime to owe debts. It only means your business cannot pay its debts. And debts are paid over time. Repayment plans get restructured to facilitate the successful servicing of the debts.

AMCON currently needs to be saved as I hear and I know the amount is estimated at =N=6.6trillion:
http://www.punchng.com/amcons-total-debt-now-n6-6tn/

It will be interesting to know the others who have not been able to pay off their loans.

And it is interesting that president Buhari and those around him cannot see that it is apparent to all why he is being singled out right now and this way.

ii) No improvement in the power sector
iii) A hard-to-sort-out budget
iv) An ailing naira
v) Dwindiling oil prices

...and you realise that at that point (some 2 months ago) when all these problems seemed to be at their peak at the same time, Buhari must have been thanking his creator inside of him that he actually had ministers to help him with these problems. I think he appreciates his ministers much more now and realizes how wrong he was.

In the heat of these problems, I wonder how many in govt circles may have reminded themselves in discussions how he had previously said the ministers were noise makers.

The president's comment was a revelation of an expensively wrong opinion about governance needs within the executive structure.

Apparently powered by ignorance, he held the job of governance through ministerial offices in low regard.

The university of Port Harcourt Teaching hospital was demolished to erect it and if you go to the site (after about 8 years) you will see nothing there. Not too long ago, they cut the bush that had taken over the empty land. Anyone can go there and take a look.

Is that alone not enough to ask the man, where is the $39 million?

The remittance of the $39 million is not being denied by Amaechi. But none of us can deny that there is nothing on that site.

On this issue, there is truly not much to say. When men do bad things and think they can get away with it, it is God that steps in to administer justice. When God gives a long rope, it does not mean that that rope is eternal.

olatemitayo:
Buhari’s Dwindling Northern Domination Agenda Exposed In 23 Points [MUST READ]
By Ena Ofugara - Jun 19, 2016

It was supposed to be easy for Buhari’s Northern power bloc. The northern domination agenda was about to be fully unleashed on the country called Nigeria.

The Ijaw man has been removed from Aso Rock and the Yoruba-Tinubu power cabal curtailed. The years of planning are over. It’s now time to execute and return the North to its pride of place and make ‘Alhaji’ and everything northern Nigerian ‘king’ again.
Yes! The Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan years and the progress of Southerners must be reversed and the northernization policy of Ahmadu Bello is reborn. Here’s the plot – it’s supposed to be easy.

1. De-commission Boko Haram. Stop the killings in the North East. Grant Boko Haram members amnesty . Pour out billions, of crude oil money, into negotiating with the deadly sect , and declare the Boko Haram war over. Do this without actual battles in the field.

2. Run over to the World Bank and obtain a loan of $2.1 billion to develop the North East.

3. Set up a northern something development commission and use crude oil money and Value Added Tax (VAT) paid by Southerners from products like beer and whisky which, are banned in 19 Northern states because of Sharia Law, and fund the commission to develop the North.

4. Acquire, by executive fiat, for the Fulani grazing land all over the nation . Sponsor your other terrorist militia to carry out killings in the Middle Belt and Southern Nigeria. The killings will make Nigerians so scared, they would gladly welcome the joke of National Grazing Reserves as a solution to the bloodbath.

5. Use “anti-corruption” to ensure the money/capital of southern Nigerians are frozen and seized or hidden from use. Use Sambo Dasuki as the bait – get all southerners who did national security contracts to bring back the money, while leaving Hausa Fulani who benefitted from the security spending and the big guns in Yorubaland like Olu Faleye to go free. With their rich men scampering and in hiding, the southern economy dies.

6. Begun a wholesale and brazen appointments of Islamist Northerners in all positions. If it means bringing out people from retirement, do it. The North must be fully in charge of the key government agencies.

7. Secretly employ Northern youths in the Central Bank of Nigeria, Federal Inland Revenue Service, immigrations, police, military, and so many other agencies.

8. Throw in weak Yorubas into the government to shut them up. Like a Kemi for instance, she can be bossed around. Have Nasir El Rufai close-mark the Yoruba veepee. Not to worry about Igbos. They will sell their people over cheques that can bounce. Ask Ngige and Rochas. For the Niger Delta, close-mark the Central Bank boss since we cannot just remove him. And Kachikwu, hmmm. You know he knows the job. We should just keep watch closely.

9. Stop Southerners from getting dollars. Make sure only Dangote and neighbourhood money changers find dollars. Once we truly control the dollars, we control the nation.

10. Kill the Niger Deltans and their militants. Stop the Presidential Amnesty payments to ex-militants and stop payments to the people through the pipeline protection contracts. Pipeline protection jobs used to be given to Northerners, now it’s locals that do them. That cannot be allowed to continue. Secretly, return the contracts to Northerners, while flying the kite that it’s the Nigerian military taking over. Crude oil is a Fulani racket same as the medical drug business is an Igbo racket, and the Nigerian Stock Exchange is a Yoruba racket. Niger Deltans must be made to realise that the North owns the oil in their land. Find and possibly kill Tompolo. Use disgruntled militants in the Niger Delta to implicate Tompolo in one thing or the other. We must control everything!

11. Elevate Sharia to a national law.

12. Intensify the Jihad by kidnapping Southerners, then kill and impregnate them, indoctrinate them to accept Islam and increase Northern Muslim population.

13. Kill anyone who gathers in the name of Biafra. Capture Nnamdi Kanu and jail him without trial. It doesn’t matter what the courts say, keep him locked up and plot how he will never leave prison alive. It is not as if the Nnamdi Kanu has an army to fight the nation. It’s invigorating for Northerners to clamp down on Biafra. It helps them re-live the pogroms of the 60s and the slaughter of the Nigerian civil war.

14. Whatever you do, get the people to say SAI BUHARI and call him MR INTEGRITY even if nothing he has ever done in his life, from writing the basic WAEC examinations, to taking coups, to losing billions in every office, be it NNPC boss or PTF boss, to employing only his tribesmen to refusing, to publicly declare asset as promised, and so many other facts that show he has no integrity at all. Just always get people to shout, Sai Baba! And say Mr. Integrity.

Yes, it was SUPPOSED to be easy. But the following happened:

1. The Agatu genocide and Enugu killings only turned Nigerians away from the idea of Fulanis settling in their ancestral land. So, it cancelled our National Grazing Reserve – our cover for the land Jihad.

2. Controlling the flow of dollars also meant that Nigeria’s international backers like the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, and other international financial institutions like JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley turned their backs on Nigeria.

3. And what use is the dollar in the hands of Northern money changers when Igbos and other Nigerians cannot buy it and transfer it abroad to buy goods and services?

3. Then the unforeseen – while we were chasing Tompolo – the Niger Delta Avengers – emerged. So the quiet in the Niger Delta during the Jonathan years was a mirage… Militancy has returned with a vengeance and what it took the old age militants years to achieve, the new militants group have achieved them in a matter of weeks. Just like Boko Haram received so much sympathy from Northerners, the new age militants have strong sympathy from the Niger Deltans. In the information age, the age of the Internet, the drama is unfolding in the eyes of the media. It is now very dominant in the minds of Nigerians and the world that the Niger Delta is a powerful region in the country. They feed the country. It is now very clear that the amnesty programme put together by late President Musa Yar’Adua, which Northern elite hate him for, was a brilliant programme that saved Nigeria. Aboki power is no longer super power.

4. And the idea of Biafra just won’t go away.

5. And Dangote finds that with the rest of Nigeria in financial strangulation, there is no money to buy his flour, sugar, cement, juice, water, and macaroni.

6. And with Islamist Northerners in charge of the Nigeria Customs Service and other key parastatals, executing the northern domination agenda, Nigeria’s business sector is plummeting and with that comes reduced revenues.

8. Then Mother Nature (God, the Universe)… A wave of natural disasters hit tomatoes, maize and suddenly, the agriculture industry where Northerners dominate is in trouble. The old agriculture minister, Audu Ogbe surely didn’t help. Owning a big farm doesn’t make someone an agricultural expert, the North is beginning to learn.

9. And the increased poverty of the Southerner is beginning to reflect on their Northern neighbours too. No “free money” to go out for suya in the evening. No money to pay the Northerner living in the security gate. Nobody to patronise a Northerner working as a commercial cyclist.

And so, while they think that, finally, Jonathan is out and they can “take back their country”, a few are already finding out that we are better off when we are all better off.

Ena Ofugara studied law in the University of Benin for some years before leaving Nigeria for the United States where he is studying while working. He has a passion for Nigeria. He has literally taken off on an imagination and that is why I really don't want to follow him. I will be validating his imagination. How does asking that the EFCC does what it is paid public money for and stop blatantly refusing to take action on piles of evidence on its desk on APC members equate to asking that FFK or Fayose or anyone else for that matter should not be probed?

If you go to the link below, you will see that all the evidence and requests for Reivers State money to be spent away has been sent to the EFCC
https://www.nairaland.com/3090748/call-investigation-source-apc-campaign#45384786

So the point here is that the EFCC will take the initiative on certain people with or without any evidence on its desk but will take no action on others (and even lie about having any petition with them against those other)

Now why should we not call out that fraud?!!!

Arrant Nonsense.
"I stole, chinedu stole too" is not a defence.
Wike has all the "alleged" evidences with him. It's more than a year now that he promised to prosecute Amaechi, what is stopping wikes AG to commence prosecution? Continue to deceive ursef.
Look for your type please.
I thought as much that you don't deserve the dignity of getting involved in this discourse
Is it Wike that is to have the evidence against Amaechi or EFCC?
EFCC boss proclaimed on natinal tv that nothing has been brought to him against any APC member.
The next day (or so) TheWhistle paper published this:
http://www.thewhistleng.com/see-evidence-magu-efcc-chair-lied-on-no-petition-against-apc-members-comment/
Magu loudly kept quiet immediately.

Your case is like a student that got F9 in all his papers and when he/she was asked about his/her result ,the student replied "am not the only that failed in my class"...so because the student is not the only one that failed is a good reason to be a failure.??...keep wailing...
I don't think you understand the concept of the credibility of a course.

Also, your brilliant mind seems to have got you imagining into existence somewhere in my text where I suggested anyone should not be probed.

This and something about your write up here gives me the feeling you really do not deserve the dignity of a response.

But we are aware how under this administration, jobs were given to selected people without advertisements being put out (at CBN).
I have to confess anyway, that if someone was getting me a job without putting it up for competition, I would appreciate the gesture.

What is contained in governor Amaechi's account? What has been contained there since January of 2015?
What was in there the year before?

If it is true the Americans say Amaechi has over $700 million in his US account, that amounts to =N=140billion. The money must have moved from Nigerian bank accounts. Doesn't the movement of this kind of money from any Nigerian public servant's accounts carry enough suspicion to trigger freezes and investigations?

Ofunaofu:
The Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission, EFCC, has reacted to the claim
that Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State cannot
be investigated because of immunity currently
being enjoyed by him.
The commission said that the immunity being
enjoyed by any governor does not prevent the
commission from investigating suspicious
movements of money into his accounts.
The Spokesman for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren
told Vanguard that the anti-graft agency has
the right to investigate any governor whose
account is being used to move funds.
“Immunity does not prevent EFCC from
investigating suspicious accounts of those
enjoying immunity and Fayose cannot be an
exception, “the commission said.

Are they trying to tell us that Amaechi's accounts from the beginning of 2015 till date do not look suspicious?

I will always keep saying this, that this woman kemi is clueless and should be relieved before it does more harm to the economy.
It is not her fault. She was chosen for a reason.
She is not bad but I believe Buhari knew that the the dynamics of
i) her temperament,
ii) the highest plane on which she had worked in her career,
iii) she served as commissioner in Ogun state under ACN (now APC)
iv) she is British trained...

...would make her acceptable to the public for the job but not confrontational with regards to how she would want things to go.
Buhari has never desired people who are too strongly opinionated to be in his caucus. And so she was chosen.

All those making this about if she is Igbo or Yoruba is just announcing the tininess of the scope of their minds
