OldJohn:
I'm very disappointed at any Nigerian or African that can ever quote this man and u being a Nigerian dissapoints me as I will careful lay down my points and reasons.

Sorry, correct if I'm wrong, aren't u that most acclaimed known homosexual on this nairaland? Well, as disgusting and abnormal that may seem to our African culture, that's not what I'm here to discuss.

If u ever took time to suppress the hate and bigotry that fills and consumes your heart everyday, u would have taken sometime out to find out about the man who u quote, adore, worship and glorify for this baseless article.

I'm surprised how a PhD holder like him wouldn't have heard of fallacy of GENERALIZATION. Perhaps such PhD was not gotten on merit. How can u categorically say all set of people from any said tribe will behave or rather behaves in a certain kindda way?

Ozodi osuji is a dejected and rejected fellow who is very confused and perhaps even retarde_d. In his articles, he has spent useful brain power, energy and time condemning and abusing Igbos like me; using derogatory and animalistic terms to qualify Nigerians like me, u and your tribalistic friends who are in support of the article; and abusing Africans as a whole.
He even went further to bite the finger that feeds him by openly abusing America as a country and showing ethnic intolerance by insulting white Americans who make up the majority of his immediate surrounding.

I don't know why this man will be your kindda hero. Perhaps because u suffer rejection and dejection for your sexual inclinations, or maybe you lack love which makes u unable to accept others. The saying goes, when in Rome, behave like the romans so here in Africa, respect the fact that we don't condone homosexuality and u can practice it if u go outside. But if u are never opporuned to go, accept your fate and deal with it. Stop looking for love in the orifice of rejected products of digestion (anus, in case u don't understand). Use yiur head and reject whatever silly perversions your mind brings u about people of the same sex. Open your heart and accept your brothers in agape love.

Igbo are hardworking people. Elrufai- Igbo own 73% of land in abuja. In lagos most of the imported goods are owned by Igbo and just this week the new CG of customs asked them to increase their weekly returns to 35billion naira which the most will be gotten from carefully taxing this imported items. So u can see how relevant and pivotal we are in this country. There's of course no argument that nobody or group of people can be said to be 100% good and that's where tolerance comes in. Pls, stop looking for faults in my people. Chances are you might find yourself under one of them one day if u aren't already perhaps being the source of your hate and Anger

If you call this piece nonsence, then i'll tell you that out of every nonsence, there is a sence.
It is true that most igbos own at least a building in the east(may not be as big as the one outside the region).
Igbos may be seen as resilient and fearless but how many of the governers from that region are performing as they should. Chamaraoke of Enugu used the state funds for himself, orji uzor diverted funds and orji kalu basterdised Abia state. What has been happening in Eboyin, Imo and Anambra? the people should querry/challenge their governors.
Why develop another state leaving yours. The happenings in the country everyday keep revealing that "one Nigeria" is an ordinary statement.

Don't decieve yourselve, the south east is currently behind.
Go to Aba, you'll see bad road and dirts environment. But the state has capacity to supply Nigeria with wears.
Enugu is just simple.
Ask your governors what they are doing to make a difference.

Let the south east open their mind.

Regards
My problem with this, in my view, retarded way of thinking is that every state has a governor who is allocated billions every month. And her you blame the north for your underdevelopment.

This does not apply to Igbos alone but everyone who is more concerned about federal appointments for their states and other things that are less important than the billions allocated to their local governments and states slipping through their fingers everyday.

When I was in Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, it was an Igbo vice Chancellor starting the university. He stole a lot instead of improving the lives of the young easterners in his school with the federal funds allocated to him for that very same purpose.

Leaders like that usually point to the north (or any other pple) as the cause of their problems and unfortunately, the masses follow in unison not knowing they are staring the cause of their billion dollar deficit right in the face.

May God grant that all who read this thread understand.

The issue for me is not if he appointed Bill Gates as anything or not. It is the influx of Monsanto suicide seeds into Nigeria that is just terrible

Did you scour the net for "Monsanto suicide seeds"? Read about those seeds

Now imagine people offering these seeds to returned IDPs in the north as a form of aid to relief their suffering.

As much as I detest GEJ, I doubt if he has the mind to sell Nigerians to Bill gate. Gmo is a major problem now. Already some countries in Europe have placed bans on our beans and other agricultural products for having more than the acceptable limits of pesticides. All this have lead to the sharp increase in cancer and other foreign diseases among africans and Nigerians.

The government of today need to rally round and reject this new dilemma facing the agricultural sector. GMO seedlings is alien to our culture and should be discontinued. I know Nigerian farmers won't heed to this cos of greed ( GMO are always high yield, disease resistance, etc) but I wont blame them totally. the ministry of agriculture need to start enlightenment programs on the dangers of GMO foods. And Nafdac or whoever is in charge should compel farmer to label their products. The consumer should be able to know if he is buying an organic food or a genetically modified food
Well, this was a mistake he made. I supported GEJ but I cannot wish away the mistake especially as it lives with us now and we have to clear it off

Politics › Bill Gates' Conspiracy Against Nigeria by coolscott(op):
In ancient times, having plunder but being militarily weak was an invitation to neighbouring kingdoms or nations to invade and conquer you.

In today's world, being ignorant is an invitation to foreigners to come in and colonise you financially right under your nose, while you party on blissfully unaware of the systematic taken over of your own system and economy. After all, it is ignorance that is being exploited.

The saddest of these examples in Nigeria today is the evil Bill Gates has carefully crafted and masterminded within our country over the past few years.

Below is a short excerpt from an interview with a Nigerian acivist and scientist of international acclaim. Dr. Philip Njemanze, who is the Chairman of the International Institute of Advanced Research and Training and an academician of the International Academy of Aeronautics which is the highest UNESCO body for space scientists.

Question: You said actions of some key players in our agro industry are treasonable. How?

Answer: Let me put this in perspective so you can figure out the conspiracy against Nigeria. Knowingly or unknowingly, former President Goodluck Jonathan in an act which is actually illegal appointed a foreign citizen, Bill Gates as Eminent Special Adviser on Agriculture.

Then I asked: ‘on what ground’? It is not that Gates has any technocrat knowledge on agriculture.

So what happened was that a foreign citizen was appointed Adviser supervising the Ministry of Agriculture and he found his protégé and made him Minister of Agriculture with an agenda in mind: to use the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to promote GMO products from his own company called Monsanto which is globally known for producing genetically modified seeds and agricultural products.

It must be noted at this point that before being appointed as Agriculture Minister, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina was working for Bill Gates as a Deputy Director in an enterprise known as Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) which primary objective was to advance the acceptance of GMO products in African countries.

This is a massive corruption ring and a treasonable conspiracy involving Adesina, Bill Gates, Monsanto and the Federal Government. This is a crime against the Federal Republic of Nigeria: putting the lives of millions of Nigerians at risk.

Honestly, some of these foreign agribusinesses have reduced us to being the guinea pig for their questionable projects.

And Adesina and his collaborators have succeeded in nailing the coffin of agricultural transformation in Nigeria.

Please help me ask her if she cant come to Nigeria like once in a month and spend days with her hubby?

Which pastor s wife will come out as she did to announce divorce without even considering the greatness of the ministry and the negative impact her actions will have.

Is she saying this problem can not be resolved internally if she cries out to all families?

The amazing fact is that she is acting out her nature.

I dare my ex to state to the world why she left our 12years union and you all will shake your head for her if she writes the worst reason she can imagine.

Let Anita state her reasons for filing for divorce and real rational thinkers will agree that indeed she needs prayers like her hubby said.

You know the worst part, its not as if she has really made up her mind o. You will quote me latter if you hear that she has reconciled and you will begin to wonder why the public drama.
itoese

Of course.
Although I believe pastor Chris is to blame because he is the man in the relationship, it is clear when pastors' wives do this all they are demanding is "love" as a wife should have it.
All she is crying out is "Love me!"
And that is a natural cry because that is how women were wired and that is why God commanded men to "Love your wives".

Pastor Chris played the "I will show you who is the boss in this relationship" card till the end.

When God comes to his garden in the end, God will ask the parties involved. But I believe just like He asked Adam, He will first ask pastor Chris "What happened here" because He knows who the head is, who He has put in charge and therefore, where the buck stops.

This lady always randomly send me photos of herself. Don't get me wrong, I don't think there's wrong anything by sending someone photos but in this case, she always sends me photos with absolutely no theme attached it to it whatsoever. And the thing that annoys me the most is, she never takes photos of her full body; in her photos, she's either sitting down in the driver's seat of a vehicle or she's in a standing position covering her face with a pile of flowers. The other day, she sent me a photo of one of her daughters. What do you all think I should make of this whole photo-craze? grin
I think she wants a deeper connection. Sometimes women seek the emotional connection they have failed to get from men from women.
They come to the conclusion that after all, they are less likely to be hurt.

That being said, I don't think it should be encouraged. Get another lady (if you can) in between you and her to even things out a bit.

With people like that, deep secret admiration can translate into deep secret hate (and you will not know at what point it happened)

No. You only have inferiority complex. You know you were never a nation in the past. Just an ethnic group.
See below part of what you already know, which is consciously and subconsciously causing all this outward reaction to a conscious and subconscious feeling of inferiority in you.
A post from my past

coolscott:
The Igbo Nation
The current concept of an igbo nation is not refined at all because consciously or subconsciously, Igbos sadly find historical identity only in Biafra. This is because before the war, there is totally nothing they did together as a people. And this in turn is because before the colonialists, they were unable to make themselves into one political group. They therefore skew every position or narration concerning 1963 - 1970 for the sake of historical pride because besides it, they have nothing else they did historically together as a people.

The Igbo nation was not born before Biafra. Igbos did not know the geographical boudries of their ethnic group before colonialism.

Other ethnic groups are different because their ancient kingdoms existed before the white man. They formed themselves into formidable and full political bodies. They had their ancient conquests (and their ancient failings) so they do not needed to glorify or skew events of the 60s to paint themselves as heroes or as people that should be sympathized with for being treated unfairly.

Please understand that there was political structure on the clan (or group of clans) level only. That is why although there were sometimes clashes between Igbo clans and villges, there was never a time when all Igbos took up arms to fight any encroacher who tried to encroach into any Igbo vilage close to other ethnic groups.

That political structure just didn't exist. If villages in the northern area were fighting, Etche Igbos probably knew nothing about it. The Onitshas had a kingdom of their own, obviously influenced by the culture of politically organised kingdoms not far from them. This is just the reality of the historical political structure.

This total absence of a complete Igbo kingdom from time past to now is the source of this unspoken touchiness about their identity that Igbos feel and which they are usually not conciously aware of because a huge part of it is subconscious, or has been transferred from an older person to a younger person in the narration of ideas from the old to the young.

It is the cause of the self-haunting questions about identity, which plague the Igbo mind, leading to this inferiority complex where he intermittently blurts out fabrications of his mind about past Igbo glory

This touchiness shows up in behaviour others get puzzled by. Things like

1). venturing to culturally lay claim to towns/cities in other well know and established ancient kingdoms of other ethnic groups,

2). the persecution complex persona,

3). and even genuinely not being aware of the ridiculous spectacle they often make of themselves when they misbehave...

are all outward manifestations of this inner touchiness cum inferiority complex which they feel about history/identity/heritage as compared to that of others

And believe me, this plagues both the great and small in Igbo land. The educated an "uneducated"

If Igbos can form themselves into one well structured, traditional political body, there will be a different kind of soundness from a deep level, the depths of which perhaps cannot be surpassed.

Complete political wholeness and congruence from a deep traditional level is the only way to the modern day soundness that some other ethnic groups currently enjoy.

This will take completely restructuring the whole traditional governing system across the board, so that traditional authority flows from one stool to all the other stools in the Igbo nation, with in-built checks and balances. This will amount to creating/starting a traditional monarchy within and for all of the Igbo nation in this mordern day and time.

When I was younger, in my naiive enthusiasm, I thought this was possible. Now I am older I still indulge myself to a little fantasy and imagine it is.

[s]Re: Contribution of the SE (and Igbo) to Nigeria’s Economy

This argument keeps rearing its ugly head, pushed on by SW irredentists. But the first thing we need to remember is that the SE gets less from the national coffers, so it is expected to contribute less.

However, this is not the case in reality, as I equate the SE with Igbo, in some instances.
Here is how Igbos, even though they get less from the national purse, actually contribute most.

1. There are give and take 17 million Nigerians abroad; 60% of those are Igbos. We know that Nigerians abroad remit billions of dollars to Nigeria annually. Therefore, 60% of the billions of remittances are from Igbos who are mainly of SE origin. The Nigerian Feds have confirmed that the remittances contribute significantly to the economy.

2. Nollywood brings in billions of Naira to Nigeria. We all know that the Nollywood in question is Igbo-dominated.

3. Igbos constitute the bulk of foreign business people who import things into the Nigerian market. We know that importation goes along with payment of import duties, taxes and other levies.

4. The SE, by taking less out of the federal purse, contribute most in keeping some savings for Nigeria. Unfortunately the savings are swallowed by the crooks from all parts of Nigeria.

5. Three SE cities are among the 6-most industrialized cities/towns in Nigeria. Lagos, followed by Port Harcourt (Rivers) Agbara (Ogun), Aba (Abia), Onitsha (Anambra) and Nnewi (Anambra) are undoubtedly the most industrialized places in Nigeria. This means employment and tax payments to the national purse coming from these industries.

6. SEners/Igbos are the least employed by the federal government. This means they not only take less out of the system by way of salaries and benefits, but also by way of having less opportunity of stealing from the government. Stealing from the govt. is what the SW and North know how best to do.

7. Igbos, by migrating out of Nigeria in more numbers than other groups, contribute less in putting undue strain on the overstretched infrastructure of Nigeria. Most of the strain received by the infrastructure in Nigeria comes from the North. If all Nigerians were to stay back home, we all know how crazy it would get.

8. Most of the sports people in Nigeria are Igbos. That is a contribution that is probably not so easy to quantify monetarily.

9. Moreover, 70% of the investments in Abuja are Igbo-owned and about 30-40% of those in Lagos are also Igbos owned. These investors pay taxes to the governments.[/s]
