This may not be very related but I just found out that the writer of Blue Lock is the same guy that wrote Jagaaaaaan and he is currently making a manga with the artist of Prison School.
I think Shonen Jump is in a post-big three era right now. With JJK and MHA ending in quick succession, SJ doesn't have a super clear cut group of battle shonen manga leading the pack. Coupled with the emergence of the Jump+ app, viewership is being shared across a wide range of series.
When I look all the manga that have anime adaptations that have been released such as Spy x Family, Chainsaw Man, Jigokuraku, Undead Unluck, Elusive Samurai, Kaiju No. 8, etc, you can see that there's no shortage of hits out there already. Yet, we still have stuff like Sakamoto Days, Dandadan, Witch Watch, and Akane Banashi with anime adaptations in the pipeline.
But it doesnt stop there. A lot of new manga both on the magazine and the app have already been able to generate buzz and can only stand to gain from future anime adaptations. Watch out for titles such as Kill Blue, Nue's Exorcist, Ruri Dragon, Wild Strawberry, and Peakgurapeakchi Kagurabachi.
I'm mostly a manga reader these days and over the years I found myself moving away from shonen to explore other genres of manga. However, with the Jump+ catalogue these days, I don't even have to leave the Shonen Jump environment to find experimental stuff anymore. The only thing I have to worry about is the high rate of cancellation but all in all, I'm eating good.
Baddestguyp: The Rose of Versailles (1979).....8.5/10
Synopsis - The story is centered on the true life events leading up to the French Revolution of 1789 and also covers the Revolution itself whereby the commoners and some other factions sought to take back political power over France from the ruling class/monarchy. This led to countless loss of life and so much human cruelty.
The story is about 90% based on true life events but it's major protagonist is a completely fictional character called Oscar François de Jarjayes. Oscar was a member of the Jarjayes family who have been loyal to the Monarchy.
Oscar, due the her father lacking a male heir was raised by her father as a man to succeed him. As a result, she joined the Royal guards.
It is a tragic tale that retells the events leading up to the French revolution and many characters who played different roles in it. I had to do a little research on the French revolution after I finished watching and while the series isn't 100% accurate, it is mostly accurate and many of the major events and characters were captured in this 40 episodes anime series.
It captures many major events like the Affair of the diamond necklace during which the people completely lost faith in the ruling class. ..
When I started the story, I thought it would be like the usual Hollywood female power show with Mary Sue characters but the deeper I went, it became clear that this wasn't the case.
Every character stands out with their own strength and weaknesses. Oscar struggling with her own identity and romance as someone who was raised as a man and who had fully accepted that identity, even if it meant depriving herself of love and attempting to shut out her feminine side and feminine emotions.
Andre who loved and was loyal to Oscar but would not hesitate to call her out when he disagreed with her choices.
Marie Antoiniette, the Dauphine of Austrian origin who entered a political marriage at the tender age of 14 with the French Dauphin (who became King Louis XVI). She was mostly portrayed as a timid but ignorant Queen easily manipulated and swayed by her own emotions and thus failing to see the plight of the common people.
The way the story captures many events is brilliant. The soundtrack too was brilliant and fitting.
The only downside is the animation. Since it was animated in 1979, the animation is not great.
Finally, a high-effort post has made it past the anti-spam bot on this thread. I love to see it.
All I know about the French Revolution is from watching Oversimplified on YT. Might have to add this one to my list to get a different perspective.
>Self admitted battle shonen fanbase hater because they don't like shipping. >Dropped Naruto Shippuden >Never watched Boruto >"Now let me tell you why the character designs are bad and then vaguely imply that Ikemoto is a creep."
Now, I'm not a Naruto or Boruto fan so this isn't me stanning but these types of criticism are starting to become annoying.
Like, how are you going to be angry about battle shonen fans not liking character shipping and then lose your mind over Sarada wearing a strapless dress and heels?
Kaycee7: Give Re Zero, The Saga of Tanya the Evil and Mushoku Tensei a chance. If you end up not liking any of them, I'll surrender myself to any location for proper beating.
A Re Zero fan surrendering himself to beating seems pretty on brand.
1. Download Qbitorrent on PC or Flud on Android 2. Go to nyaa[dot]si or animetosho[dot]org 3. Search for anime of choice. Make sure to check file size, subtitles available and seeder to leecher ratio. The more the seeders, the better. 4. Click magnet link and qbitorrent should prompt you to download. Copy and paste magnet link into Flud. 5. After downloading you can keep seeding to help others. When you're done seeding, click on pause. 6. Enjoy.
Thegamingorca: Recommend incest apart from those grey haired twins
1. Oreimo 2. A Sister's All You Need 3. Eromanga Sensei 4. Kiss x Sis 5. The Shiunji Family Children (from the genius that gave us Rent a Girlfriend. The anime is airing next year).
abduleez1: Exactly. Shït always feel the same as if na one writer arrange everything. So repetitive and useless. The characters are usually annoying and the most shallow development in anime.
Isekai is the worst thing to happen to Japan since Hiroshima and Nagasaki. 90% of them are fanfiction/ Wattpad-tier trash. The worst thing is that anime studios would rather adapt Generic Isekai #42069 for easy money than take a risk actually unique shows.
Kaycee7: If you told the WWE Universe in 2014 that they'd be popping hard for Roman Reigns in 2024, they'd have looked at you liked you needed to take your meds.
It only took a decade but my idolo is finally getting the respect I always knew he deserved.
1. Roman Reigns is the top face of the company. 2. Both male and female world champs are beach blondes 3. Samoans holding one of the female world titles and the tag titles. 4. Big, strong monster foreign heel as world champ and big, strong monster heel as intercontinental champ. 5. Jacked Stone Cold/The Rock LARPer are US Champ.
Imagine being in the middle of one of the hottest programs in pro wrestling right now but you routinely botch the simplest of moves.
Here are some of his highlights: 1. He botched his debut and couldn't get to ref in time so the ref had to basically drag himself out of the ring before the 3-count. Not to mention, the towel fell off his face before the big reveal.
2. He botched a low blow on Kevin Owens, missing the first attempt before punching Tama Tonga in the head on the second.
3. He botched ramming Cody Rhodes to the turnbuckle on Summerslam ffs.
I'm looking for good short guy, tall girl romance manga/manhwa recommendations. Yes, I'm already reading The Dangers in my Heart so please recommend more obscure stuff.
This is the kind of chaos that follows when people decide to protest without a clear plan. Instead of addressing the real issues, they just scatter everywhere like headless chickens.
In Nigeria, protests are just a platform for people to display their frustration without any real change. The blood of innocent people is on the hands of those who incite these protests.
We have seen it before; the politicians are busy playing their games while the common man suffers the consequences. The people in Borno are paying the price for what? For a protest that won't change anything?
If the leaders truly cared, they would focus on protecting lives instead of letting people march around without understanding the risks involved. This is just a cycle of violence that leads nowhere.
Bro what are you talking about? Boko Haram has been killing people in Borno for over decade now. Do you really think it has to do with the protest?
