Second, even in states where Sharia law is applied, its jurisdiction is limited. Non-Muslims are not subject to it if they do not wish to be.

Third, even Muslims in Kano are objecting to the limited implementation of Sharia law, so on what basis do you claim "Nigerian law is based on Sharia law"? Can you implement this your "based on Sharia law" in Lagos or Aba where the law is based on English Law to which even Sharia law in Kano is subject to appeal?

You know, when said you didn't know what you were talking about, I actually didn't expect such a high degree of ignorance. I was using basic Nigerian law terminology expecting that you either understood me or had the good faith to ask for clarification or do some basic research of your own.

Southern states use the criminal code, northern states use the penal code. Capiche? This makes what you were saying about Lagos and Aba a total non-starter, and further exposes your ignorance on this issue.

There are four distinct legal systems in Nigeria, which include English law, Common law, Customary law, and Sharia Law, but the highest court is based on English Law.

So because you haven't heard of beheading as punishment for a crime, then the penal code isn't based on sharia law. Is that really your argument? OK, so have you ever heard by death by storing?

You do realize that the penal code in Nigeria is heavily based on sharia law, right? Without the legal guidance of Child's Rights Act which, as at last year, 2 states were still holding out on (which is good because it was 5 as at last year when I checked), the law would default to "what a lot of clerics believe" which is why one of our senators could marry a 13-year-old.

Child abuse has always been a problem in sections of the country for to certain cultural and religious beliefs. This is why they have been dragging their feet on the Child's Rights Act.

These guys now want to tell me because these things happen in other states (where they are prosecuted as crimes, mind you) that we're all the same. I wonder if they would say the same thing if red states in America were slow in adopting this sort of law.

I didn't insinuate that, I was talking about the systemic issue of child marriage. There are some states in this country that still haven't passed the Child's Rights Act, making it a systemic issue that we cannot generalize across all Nigerians.

I think your missing the point. You have to compare like with like. So, getting the vaccine vs. not and getting covid. What are the risks for the vaccine vs. the risks of getting covid. And do with the booster vs. getting covid a 2nd time. etc. etc. I think we already went over this.

You also have to consider the fact that the vaccine doesn't actually stop you from getting the virus so you still have to consider the risks of getting covid even after taking the jab.

Honestly, you will be never be able to make a fully informed decision. The data you get comes from somewhere else. The interpretation of that data comes from somewhere else. As I was saying unless you have expertise in this stuff, you'll always be at the mercy of someone else. So, the key is doing all the research you can and finding the people to trust. And I would start by not trusting people who got the Vaccine and are now trying to dissuade people to not get it (Like all Fox News hosts).

I think you should also review your "appeals to authority fallacy". It's often incorrectly interpreted in this thread.

Do you also distrust the American Heart Association? The science was not settled and the full range of side-effects of the vaccine were not yet known.

I belong to a demographic where the virus has a <1% mortality rate (this has been known for a long time), now it has been found that the vaccine increases the risk of myocarditis in that same demographic and the risk continues to increase with each subsequent booster shot. I now know that I don't need the vaccine given my age and fitness level.

Thanks for being a good guinea pig for me, though.
