Me for instance if I go back to my village I won’t be paying rent. I can plant my vegetables and eat soup with it.
Plant my cassava on ancestral land, harvest, process it into garri and eat without buying at exorbitant prices.
Cultivate my yam, harvest and eat without spending scarce naira.
Likewise my rice. If you’re in rural area rice is also cheaper.


My point is rural dwelling is far cheaper than urban dwelling.

There’s nothing wrong with rural dwelling. Coat your coat according to your size. Don’t run into debt and live above your income just to be a town dweller.


Urban to rural migration is expected seasonal whenever there is harsh economy. Such can be reversed with time when things stabilise.
