Meanwhile the Military High Command of the Nigerian Armed Forces after many years of the world's most brutal anti-terrorist war with Boko Haram and its deadlier offshoots have given the C-In-C the confidence to go public with the declaration that the war on jihadist islamafascists ISWAP terrorists is nigh its end. My only concern now is the South-East. The North-West & North-Central will be like child's play if the President refuse to see reason and stop his sectional politics that has made the country the most divided than it ever was in its history. The South-East insurgency is appearing to have been badly managed from the beginning the same mistake that was made with Boko Haram which turned out to be the deadliest of exigent threats to Nigeria's survival as a nation. Lessons learned some good politicking can save bullets which alone can't win a war. The NSA should tell him.

MOST WANTED ISLAMAFASCIST ISWAP TERRORIST SANI SHUWARAM KILLED ISWAP'S REIGN OF JIHAD AND TERROR IS OVER Daily Post Nigeria Nigerian forces kill ISWAP leader, Sani Shuwaram Published on March 20, 2022 By Wale Odunsi Islamic State’s West African Province (ISWAP) leader Sani Shuwaram, is dead, according to PRNigeria. In November 2021, the ISWAP Shura (Judicial) Council installed the 45-year-old as the new Wali (Head) in Lake Chad. Shuwaram and other terrorists were eliminated after aerial bombardments carried out in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State. Super Tucano jets flown by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) rained missiles on a number of identified ISWAP hideouts. Shuwaram reportedly died from gunshot wounds sustained in the strikes that hit the sect’s camps at the Sabon Tumbun area of Lake Chad. “Shuwaram was among terrorists injured by NAF air interdiction missions conducted at Sabon Tumbun near Kirta Wulgo. “Subsequent strikes to his death alongside other ISWAP fighters receiving treatment including Abu Ibrahim”, a military officer confirmed. NAF Director of Public Relations, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet said air and ground troops have continued military offensive around Kirta Wulgo. “We don’t want to be dragged into making any statement or confirmation based on rumours or hearsay. “Nevertheless, troops at the frontline alongside other agencies have sustained strikes against terrorist leaders and their enclaves until we get this job done”, the spokesman added.

General Irabor: In Fighting Insurgency, Sometimes You Lose a War to Win It March 14, 2022 3:47 Chief of Defence Staff, Lucky Irabor, has reiterated the Nigerian Army’s determination to end terrorism in collaboration with national security and defence stakeholders. In this interview with selected Editors, Irabor discusses the evolution of terrorism worldwide, noting that extremism is not unique to Nigeria. The defence chief also explained the armed forces are doing differently to fight insurgency to the finish. According to him, the armed forces are more prepared for all scenarios. Excerpts: How have the strategies used to fight terrorism in Nigeria evolved? Some of our tactics have changed, but our vision remains the same – We want to bring an end to the beginning of all terrorism. We are achieving these in collaboration with stakeholders in national security and defence. Globally, terrorism has evolved in the last two decades. The case is not different in Nigeria. What we are doing differently is to be ahead of this evolving trend. The Armed Forces of Nigeria is more prepared for all scenarios. Unfortunately, it will do us more harm than good if we go public to reveal all we have done or what we have stopped doing or will do. The good news is that in all scenarios, Nigeria will win. Let us never forget the words of Winston Churchill, ‘Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.’ Since the war against Boko Haram/ISWAP started, the military has lost some major battles in the North East. What is being done to avoid future defeats? A better way to look at it is that in the last 20 years, the military has won major battles in the North-East. We have won most of our battles, and that is why we are winning the war. This is not just an opinion. It is the fact. The most recent evidence from the Global Terrorism Report confirms this. A war is made up of several battles. In a perfect world, you plan to win everything, but perfection never happens in war. Sometimes the way forward is backwards. Sometimes you lose a battle to win the war. There has been a recent wave of military takeovers in Africa? Is the military approach a remedy to poor governance? First, let me make it clear that the probability of non-democratic leadership in Nigeria is zero. Rather than go back to our past, we have learnt from it. It is no longer an option. We are passing this message down the ladder. Like Nigeria, other African countries must strengthen their democratic processes rather than subvert them. Our findings reveal that one main reason for these negative events is when a leader overstays and loses focus. This causes government institutions to weaken, and eventually, the non-democratic take over. Some security stakeholders believe that the final stage of the war against terrorism will be faster if the country hires foreign fighters (mercenaries). Where lies the loyalty of the foreign fighter? To Nigeria or self? The men and women of the Armed Forces fight to protect Nigeria, not because they are paid to do it. It is because they, we see it as a duty. Certainly, we will continue to collaborate with other global powers and defence institutions, but we are not going to outsource our primary responsibility. What is the military leadership doing concerning complaints from some officers about injustice and unfair disciplinary procedures? There is a lot of misinformation and disinformation about the administrative codes and procedures of the Armed Forces. Like our global partners, the military does not operate with court orders. A court-martial is different from a civil court. The military has means to maintain discipline and order. How much support is the military getting from non-governmental organisations, especially on the non-kinetic approach to rebuilding peace? Just as nobody can use only one finger to write, the Armed Forces of Nigeria cannot right all the wrongs in security by itself. There is a lot of work that some of these organisations have put in, especially to protect women and children in the North East. A lot more still needs to be done on the non-kinetic approach to achieving peace.

When you hear the Russians are coming you give way same like hearing the Nigerians are coming you give way or be crushed. Nothing like seeing a Russian soldier or a Nigerian soldier in combat mode and on the move. For the Russian Defence Ministry to start releasing video footage of Russian combat troop movements is evidence of confidence of control of the battle space. Contrary to Western propaganda observe a decent force of CAS, anti-aircraft battery, dismounted infantry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mi_hoXvaE40 |
The hypocrisy of the West. Well NATO or its Master the US and its little cousin the UK should never imagine ever going anywhere else in the world to fight because Russia will never forget their delivery of anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine. Just imagine sitting in Argentina right now would be the time to take back the Falkland Islands and no matter what the Brits will throw at it with the Russian supply of game changing weapons the Malvinas would be rightfully repossessed. Don't throw stones when you live in a glass house. The supply of Javelins and NLAWs though minimal in the overall effect of the invasion it did do some ignoble damage slowing light armoured Russian columns and low flying ground attack fixed wing and rotor aircraft. War itself being deception the Russians did very well anticipating the response of NATO support and kept much of its teeth combat arms at bay for any eventuality of the use of full lethal force. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9R5tuAaeQw |

The costs of war. The aim is to minimize as much as possible human and material losses. Diagnosis & Prognosis The Russian Military are playing something out of the new doctrine of General Leo Irabor's warfare strategy. Let the enemy and their sympathizers warmonger and propaganda while you make incontrovertible statements of tactical victory on the battlefield leaked to Social Media and widely disseminated by independent sources validating & giving credibility to what and when you make official defence press conferences. Clearly military commanders are adjusting to the new norm of information strategy in a world traditional media is dominated and controlled by the West. The Russian Army is surgically cutting off important Ukrainian cities to effectively bring it under its control at the negotiating table or in the field achieving its stated objectives of demilitarization and consolidating its sphere of influence without having to succumb to an insurgency. A very well thought out operation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ieKljQsXzg |
This is turning out to be the cleanest war in recent history even the Americans didn't do so well in the early stages of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. The extensive use of high calibre precision weapons by the Russian Armed Armed Forces to decapitate whatever exists of the military and political levers of the Ukrainian State is evident whilst allowing the continued function of the local economy as much as possible for ordinary citizens is military genius. This is without doubt purely clean warfare. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PMQ76K_ZAo |

GeneralFarouq:The Nigerians should stop that really, most armies in the west at least the British don't do all that noise making in training ostensibly to induce morale. While training or marching without singing is mentally strenuous for soldiers it makes them tougher. The Spetsnaz and their calm under intense fire reflects their training under duress without the noise. I've had a British soldier in private complain to me how hard to do that in training but you could see his finesse and so are the Russians. However elite Nigerian Speicial Forces like the SBS would not be loud under fire which would reflect their training as most elite units. |
Apparently some folks are listening to a disheveled man of a Prime Minister like this and his MI6 sponsored spin media operatives Why would one imagine the West ever wanting to give the Spetsnaz credit for being too good

THE RUSSIANS HAVE ARRIVED IN KIEV The sound of gunfire has echoed through Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, as Russian tanks were filmed entering the city for the first time. Ukraine's Ministry of Defence called on those living in Kyiv's northern outskirts - where the tanks were filmed - to make fire bombs "to neutralise the enemy". Overnight, the city was hit by blasts, with at least one block of flats damaged and several civilians injured. Russia has denied carrying out strikes. ADVERTISEMENT The unnamed source at Russia's defence ministry also said a plane shot down over Kyiv was Ukrainian, Reuters news agency reports. Ukraine has said the jet was Russian. As the second day of fighting began, Moscow - which is attacking from the east, north and south - appeared to have Kyiv firmly in its sights. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said "the enemy" was trying to put Kyiv "on its knees". On Friday afternoon, Russia's defence ministry announced it had captured the Antonov airport, using 200 helicopters and a landing force in order to take the base to the north of Kyiv from Ukraine. Western intelligence officials warned earlier that Russia was building an "overwhelming force" to take control of the city. Citizens in the northern Obolon district have been told to stay at home to avoid "active military operations" by city officials, Reuters adds. Obolon is the same area where it appeared tanks were filmed earlier in the day. The Ministry of Defence had already appealed to the district's residents on its Facebook page to "inform us of troop movements, to make Molotov cocktails [firebombs] and neutralise the enemy". kabe1:That Airborne Assault was a masterclass. I myself I'm truly impressed. Just stunning. And the ease of those guys under fire astounding. Military planners & experts will be studying it. At this very moment in 24 hours credible sources have confirmed all civilian and military airports in Ukraine including some 24KM to Kiev is under the control of the Russian army. As I said earlier Kiev will fall in a few. In fact some intelligence agencies say likely in 24 hrs. |
sczeska:I am pro-peace neither Russian nor Ukrainian. I'm being objective with the facts. Your sympathy for Ukraine is misguided if it is to help spread propaganda. What I shared is accurate. You may want to continue to live an alice in wonderland story that says a Russian Airborne Assault Team was destroyed with no evidence. I guess Russia was sleeping when it happened. This is classic warfare mind games to whip up nationalistic fervour to defend the country. The people in the Zelensky presidency saying that are already negotiating their escape into exile or surrender to the Russians which are just 20 miles outside Kiev. This is the reality and those Special forces created the air-bridge for that to happen. This is the way things are. Stop spreading western lies and disinformation which got us here in the first place. |
NEUTRALITY Something that should have been done. Sometimes you wonder what this people in power are drinking. How could President Zelensky ever be so deluded to think the west will intervene. Sad to say but this is not Germany or France or the UK. NATO will not even risk nuclear war because of Poland. NATO is just symbolic on the part of the west for its client states in eastern Europe and leverage to encircle Russia with offensive weapons. The real culprit is Washington. What is so wrong with a neutral status. I mean there are countries considered west not in NATO which NATO would actually fight for because they are kit and kin but they are not in NATO and are neutral. Why let Ukraine suffer like this. President Zelensky is already tacitly conceding defeat. Look at the people a whole nation is trusting abandoning them in their plight and to rub insult to injury Boris Johnson of the UK is offering support for a Ukraine government in exile, talk of capitulation. What an insult. https://www.rt.com/russia/550546-zelensky-nato-ukraine-neutrality/ |

kabe1:France does not have a military solution against Nigeria not now and never in the future. If it did Biafra would be in existence today. For all its considered prowess it is a medium power compared to the United States, Russia or China. Wars on the scale of peer powers in terms of population size, topography, human and material resources are also won by strategic alliances. Actually your pointer is a reverse in favor of Nigeria. Europe's birth rate has been falling and continues to do so. Nations muster the whole of national might to fight a major war. France does not have the men of fighting age compared to Nigeria to muster a total war against a large and huge country like Nigeria far from its shores, it can't even do that in Europe. Its strategic weapons advantage can be quickly mitigated by nation states that have an axe to grind in favor and support of Nigeria. Assuming this scenario is taking place in West Africa then it is to Nigeria's overall advantage. Nigeria can quickly mobilize in anticipation of such a conflict strategic and tactical weapons, men and materials the likes of which will make France consider it suicide to even contemplate the idea of war with a giant state of 200 million mostly intelligent people. It's a non starter. France understands this and has chosen trade. Following that Nigeria's alliances worldwide coupled with its hegemonic influence will bring fighting men, aid and resources to bear and this goes for certain other African countries. The recent war in Ethiopia is an example. The secret support given by states in that war brought Ethiopia back from nigh annihilation. Nigeria regardless of it's current CT/COIN posture is more adept at conventional warfare which is a whole less tasking to a jihadi war. |
A good read of the Russian/Ukraine war https://punchng.com/ukraine-us-nato-must-be-held-accountable/?amp |
LEAVE RUSSIA ALONE Lessons Learned: Don't poke a bear in the face I've been saying this for years also here. History always somehow repeats itself. It's like having Cameroon arming itself with strategic weapons able to knock Nigeria quickly to its knees or joining a military alliance that has the potential of tilting the balance of power. No powerful nation tolerates that on its borders. That's another reason we have the NIA and DIA. Any attempt by any neighbor or nation in sub-saharan Africa to escalate weapons rearmament or invite any nation to do so will be met with every lever of national economic power, sabotage, coups or outright military invasion to take down the rogue regime otherwise you turn into a client state. This is classic text-book geo-political balancing of the power equation in a region and simply what President Putin and Russia is doing to maintain the status quo ante of its military advantage. While I sympathize with the Ukrainians they actually brought it on themselves listening to the Americans, NATO and Western Europe that would never lift a lid to go die for them. |
Nothing like seeing a Russian soldier move: in this astonishing clip by CNN's Matthew Chance (brave guy) Russian Airborne Assault Special Forces Operators manoeuvre at an airport they captured just outside Kiev. A bridge head is now set up for more Russian Armada to pour in. Expect the fall of Kiev & government in a few. Its actually sickening for anyone to think otherwise of a certain outcome. Apart from strategic and tactical weapons the Russians are one of the best fighting forces on earth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_3L0z1lgAE |
