1. I think buyer has to wait 60 days or they can open an account on 1and1. That is the disadvantage of using 1and1. But you may simply list it on Godaddy and wait for the 60 days or so to pass.

2. If you wait for 60 days and someone buys it, you don't pay any charges whatsoever. I already bought some on Gdad, but now will use 1and1 and wait for 60 days.

$ 0.99, just pick any of those names, and head to 1and1. Else you can buy at $ 2.99 at Gdaddy. Make sure you list your domain name for sale ASAP.

I tried the screenshots from laptop, and placed it in Word, it was tiny. So maybe I have to do it one after the other, and then attach each image file to you. I am not sure the expireddomains screenshot will be visible if I send it out via whatsapp. But I am working on it.

I attach files containing a list of names. One file have single word .info names. The other file contains multiple words.

I indented some of the names with a tab. Those ones are the CHOICE names, BUT it is not a must. If you can research on some of the other names, you may discover even better ones than my own ideas. For example, waterbed and healthycat food is my preferred choice in the following list

waterbed.
mineralmakeup.
deskchair.
healthycatfood.

I will suggest that you also utilize 1and1, why? If you register 2 names, they give you a third free!

So for only 2 dollars, you get three names. The only downside is that your buyers have to use 1and1 too (at least within the first 60 days of your registering the domain names).

If you are low on budget, PLEASE use 1and1.

@uneeking, Godaddy doesn't allow you to use their offers beyond one domain. They are now smart, yes we can start with a minimum bid of $29. These are great domain names for people who know what they are doing. You can also sign up for auction membership. It is on $4.99 / year.

@saddabm, you know, agro allied is good at least speaking from the Nigeria environment. Do a Ggle search and see what shows up. If you see sufficient websites with agro allied in their URLs, it may be a good name to invest in. Sometimes some registrars don't show a name as available if it just dropped.

@writer100, why don't you do a fresh blog and enrol it with GNews? I think that is better. If you are looking for a deleted name with such values, it is a long shot. That;s just my opinion.

Ok, no problem. I get .coms on Gdad for $8.7 or so now. I use it since it is highly likely that will be the buyer's preferred registrar so I don't need to wait for 60 days. You know you can market Robup to people bearing Rob? There are many of them. Just look for those bloggers who are Rob, Roberts etc.

Sourcing
I will post a list of about 5-10 domain names everyday, and we will buy as much as capital will demand (each person can make a choice and build up their own inventory). You don't have to worry about selecting the right names. I will post the names and you can just buy any.

Inventory size
I suggest we target 10. That means you will be having about 10 domain names in your account per time. As soon as you sell one, you buy another. Please try limit to 10 maximum. For that you will need startup capital of $2.99 to $29.90 in all. So even if it is only $2.99 you can afford, that is fine. You can have at least a domain name.

Selling strategy
Minimum sell price is $30. So you have to set minimum bid amount to $30. We use Gdad
7 day auctions, relist if there is no sale. Set buy now at $99

Target. The target is to make at least 2 sales in a month, jammeyboy. That is about some 200bucks per month. Godaddy takes their 40 bucks and you are left with $160. This is workable.

It's time we rock the sales history guys.

It depends on your domain name. You may counter with an offer for another price. It depends on how much you think the domain is and whether you are ok with taking a risk of the user walking away (if they can't meet your offer). If you are ok with the offer, you may take it. If you can grandstand a bit, you may ask for $150.

Lol. I don't get your question, but

1. If it is a freshly registered domain name, by ICANN rules, you can't transfer to another registrar until after 60 days. Same if you just transferred it in to 1and1, you can't transfer out till after 60 days.

2. If you are not within the 60day period, your transfer to another registrar takes roughly 4 days. Some receiving registrars do manual processing (I wont mention names). So you may experience delays which is not due to 1and1. If it is a big registrar like GoDad, transfers will land fast - I guess.

Unfortunately, like I said earlier I am short on cash. But this idea struck my mind about registering with 1and1. I have used 1and1, infact I owe 1and1. Transferring domain names should not be a problem. I just transferred some last week and will be transferring more sometimes this week.

One thing I am not sure of is their .99 domains in the sense of transferring within the first year. That is not a problem though, send a mail to them and ask. Once you can transfer, then go for it. But note that they will only give you one domain name at 0.99. Subsequent .coms are $8.99 or so for the first year. Make sure you turn off autorenew on all domains or you will be in debt faster than you can say helpppp!

That registrar is one of my best (until we fell apart though it is no fault of theirs). A secret from me to you as a NL pal? Their .99 .info domain names can make you. You can ask me how privately (don't worry am not selling report ). Just some special info for special guys.

Do Nigerians distrust Google?

There’s something strange about the way Nigerians are using Google search. If you compare the number of Google searches coming from Nigeria, it’s disproportionately low compared to other African countries, relative to online population size.

Let me give you an example. According to Google trends, the most popular searches in any country are typically three things: the name of that country, the word ‘facebook’ and the word ‘news’. Nigeria has 59 million internet users, three times more than Kenya has. And yet, Kenya has double the amount of searches for a common search term like ‘facebook’. The same thing is visible when you look at the number of Nigerian searches for the word ‘news’. It’s only 90k on average per month, while South Africa has 165k searches with an internet population of 25 million. I would expect Nigeria’s search numbers to be much higher, considering their huge internet population.

Why is this? Do Nigerians find links and information in some other way? It’s not that they’re all using another search engine. Google is still the top search engine in Nigeria, Yahoo and Ask are both less popular.

I spoke to Damola, my colleague in Nigeria, about this anomaly and we came up with two theories to explain it:

Theory 1: Distrust of unknown links

It’s possible that Nigerian internet users are hesitant to click on a link if it isn’t endorsed by someone they know through social media, or if the link isn’t on a news website they trust. It could be a scam site. As a result, people browse the internet via links on Facebook, Twitter or through referral sites. They don’t start at a Google search, because they have no guarantee that the websites that come up in the search results are trustworthy or relevant to them. The effect of this unusual user behaviour is that some of Nigeria’s top sites operate like the web directories of the 90s. The continued popularity of Nairaland, basically a web 1.0 kind of forum, is an example of this.

Theory 2: Data costs of browsing through search

If petrol was really cheap, you wouldn’t worry about how much you drive around, you’d feel carefree about exploring places with your car. If petrol was expensive, you would think twice about getting in your car, unless you knew exactly where you’re going. In Nigeria, you can purchase social media data bundles that make it much cheaper to stay on social media rather than exploring the rest of the internet. “Mobile data is actually really expensive here so not necessarily frugal to search on the web when you can rather use Facebook or Twitter,” says Damola. So it’s likely that people in Nigeria prefer to scroll through social media and find content that way, instead of using Google search to browse around the web.

I assume that Google is aware of this phenomenon and that it bothers them. It looks like their Get Nigerian Business Online campaign was an attempt to rectify the problem by getting more local businesses to appear in search results. If Nigerians continue to sidestep the search box, Google will miss out on income gained from displaying ads to Africa’s most populous nation.
