We have taken investments to china! Who is nigeria exactly? Naai-geria who? ---- Inventive South Africa Firms Thrive in Booming China By Craig Timberg Washington Post Foreign Service JOHANNESBURG -- As China extends its reach ever more deeply into Africa's economies, one country has quietly but aggressively moved in the opposite direction, with its companies becoming major players in booming Chinese industries. Companies with roots in South Africa, the largest and most sophisticated economy on the continent, have eagerly expanded beyond national borders since the end of apartheid-era sanctions in 1994. Few of these new markets have proved as lucrative as China, where lessons learned in poor, complex African markets have given the companies an edge against U.S. and European competitors, South African business executives say. |
drag_on: @ Msauza the reason why Nigeria's poverty rate is not accepted is because it is believed to be LOWER.The reason is simple, our GDP is underestimated,as you yourself said 150mil people earning less than 50mil should have very high poverty rate, but the reverse is the case. The reason any Nigerian can answer,we have a super huge informal sector that is not reported to the Government. That is why the re-basing going on is taking so long as the Government crisscrosses the country accounting for businesses.it is expected that Nigeria's GDP should rise by 40%-50% after re-basing just as it happened in Ghana. Ghana rebased from 1993.Nigeria is re-basing from 1990 when there was no such thing as nollywood by the way.Rubbish. Your whole post. Rubbish. It's not your poverty rate that's rejected. It's rather your ability to keep stats and produce real numbers. That on its own shows you are hapless. And then there's common logic. You can't hide. You can't run. Your informal sector doesn't pay tax. Black market. So it's actually bad for your government. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/8595108.stm |
agaugust: it was not my 50%, its quoted by index-mundi directly from the CIA WORLD FACTBOOK that your fellow soldier @fighter pilot was boasting about as very reliable.Your common logic fails you. You even have people that literally build houses on dumps. As in they actually love it. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/8595108.stm |
agaugust: all nigerians defeating south africans with mathematics and science on this forum did not school in ghana.Really? So what has your "science" achieved in Naai-geria? You must have it confused with voodoo! ![]() |
NPikinGidi: Delusional fellow. Safe haven? Where? You are so full of your emptiness! Safe enough to be dragged to death from the back of a van by people who should make one feel safe? Please try Smoking something else. I spoke deep truths and everytime I have done so you all say the same nonsense. I am in your system yet far from your space for real. He's right. You're stuck in South Africa. No going back to Nigeria. You and the rest of your fellow refugees in Hillbrow ![]() |
NPikinGidi: I had so much for you in pictures ... But I am not a low life kid who throws caution to the wind just to satisfy your crass stupidity. You are 33% success! In deed a total FAILURE by every possible definition! What happened to your camera? Must have been stolen from you at gun point in SOWETO!You ran away. Still running. You made an argument you couldn't sustain. Simple questions were asked. No answer from you. You chose you ignore them because you shot your Keith of. We still want to know: what definition of a failed stage do you go by and how do the things talk about fit within the definition? We wait - Naai-gerian university graduate. Totally clueless, yet you open your mouth. |
solomon111: pick a country?Listen here- if you can't pick a country, then don't tell me you're respected. There's no country that generally has good things to say about you lot. Anyway, if you want to be "general" like that, then tell me if Gadaffi was being respectful when he said you should split. Two - you have no stats about Nigerians killed in South Africa because there aren't stats that support your story of thousands. South Africa keeps stats. We aren't Nigeria. You want to cry like you people always do wherever you go - exaggerating things. Typical, given you are used to speaking without any backup numbers. No culture of statistics in your dump of a country. You people like saying things you can't support when called out. I should sleep. You're clearly another ranter who can't support his own arguments. Good night. |
solomon111: Sorry i meant Nigerians are respected not only in africa but in the world.See above. Goodnight. Chow now... |
solomon111: 1)Thousands of Nigerians have been killed and that's a fact and they will be avenged one day.Even simpler: 1. Pick a country! Where are you respected? 2. Give me numbers! Where are your hundreds that have been killed in SA? 3. Where have you contributed in SA, as opposed to being pests? Percentages please! Contribution vs infestation? Please. Simple. You have no country. That's what you fall to be treated like rubbish. I'm going to bed. I trust I will have my answers and stats after you've spoken to an elder. |
I have to sleep. You have all century to get answers. Maybe find a Northern elder and ask him these questions. Chow now... |
solomon111: Are you dumb?Don't preach. Two simple things. 1. Since when does knowing one or two people that have been killed lead to the conclusion that hundreds of people have been killed? Simple. 2. If you had a real country, don't you think you wouldn't be economic refugees/ drug peddlers/pimps in Hillbrow? You'd command respect instead of ridicule. But because people know you've built nothing, they treat you like pests. Name one nation that respects nigerians. Just one please. |
agaugust: please do. this thread proves that the most intelligent people in all africa from cape town to cairo...are the nigerians.Looking at your country, you've got a funny way of showing your intelligence! ![]() Is Lagos the sign of your intelligence? Abuja? The Zuma rock or pebble? Is that it? ![]() Funny guy! Anyway - bedtime for me i"ntelligent" Naai-gerians |
agaugust: may i humbly say, i scored 75% in JAMB exams to enter nigerian university to read accounting, no wonder nigerians are more intelligent than all other africans from cape town to cairo !You scored 75% to get into an inferior university system. Who recognises your universities? Anyway, we all know you are no accountant or MBA. |
solomon111: Seriously,i wonder what people find in SA.Goes to show how bad Nigeria is. Clearly! Good comment, regardless. Thank you. |
solomon111: Am i really exaggerating? Two is hundreds since when? Anyway, if you had a real country, you wouldn't have to wander around the world being murdered in African countries. If you had the brains to actually build a country, you'd be just fine. But alas! You don't! So you travel not to contribute, but to survive and parasite. |
agaugust: .Ridiculous! Like you can produce anything. Anyway, you're in luck. Here's your proof. Read it and weep! Begging for recognition is your president! --// In at least one of its bills seen by PREMIUM TIMES, the company requested $59, 200 from the Nigerian government for arranging an interview for President Jonathan with the CNN Nigerian affiliate in late 2010. |
Here's the chief puppet taking orders from yet another American woman. Look at how's he's listening. It's like he's going to cry. And then after the meeting, he actually goes on and cries.
|
agaugust:We've dealt with this before. Clearly you were asleep. Assuming the number is right, it doesn't matter. The iPhone is made in China. The MacBook is made in China. What matters is who holds the intellectual property. You F-7 jet is a Chinese cheap copy. The iPhone isn't. Your point is dead. |
agaugust: sorry for my harsh words, i apologize. i just got angry, a mexican american guy was laughing at that zuma bowing down to obama and he was moacking africans about it, south africa just embarrassed all of us african americans here. period.Oh is that so now? Mr Jonathan is great and eloquent? Is that so? Jonathan putting the Nigerian seal to shame with his crying.
|
all4naija: I thought I saw blackout at the beginning of the video. This is the same SA with constant electricity flow yet there was a blackout live on its TV channel. That is very laughable. That's because he mentioned Nigeria. That's why. Anyway, don't be ridiculous. There was no blackout. I saw this live. That's the video. Did he stop talking? No. Did anyone worry? No! Try again, Naai-gerian. Enjoy the video. |
Henry120: Ok. now go grab a pair of boo*bs and run along. You've had a field day derailing this thread.Cry all the way to Timbuktu. You can't silence me. You aren't a mod and your mods know there's nothing to ban me for. Future visitors will enjoy my posts. No one cares what irritates you. No one. |
Here's Obama in Soweto, in case there was no power in Lagos when this aired. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT34RhwZOBI |
solomon111: what opportunities are you talking about, you xenophobic scum.Exaggerating much? But then again, maybe if the "hundreds of Nigerians" knew anything about building a country, they'd have a place to call home and they wouldn't be "murdered" in other people's countries, don't you think? So boo-hoo. Cry us a river Naai-gerian. You're forever crying about being treated like cr*p. |
scipher: dude, you're not making any senseThe person I was talking to got it and responded accordingly. You just jumped on one post. Obviously it won't make sense to you. |
zetdee: I was correcting some of your assertions which i knew for a fact are wrong, like having the highest informal settlements in Africa, gaining university entrance with a 33% pass and spending 1 billion for obama's visit. Instead of raising individual cases like people throwing feaces and digging cemeteries.. lmao.. international rankings would make your points far more potent if they show SA ranks low in key areas. To expand on the issue of education, from what i know 33% pass mark is for level3 subjects only, for mathematics, the sciences and first languages which are level1 subjects 40% or 45% is the minimum set to pass matric. Universities have their own criteria for admission and a university like Wits won't except anyone with marks below 65%, from i read the dropouts have little to do with people having passed with 33%, but due to lack of praperation ( like choosing the wrong subject), coming from a poor family, obviously there are the lazy ones. That shows that SA Universities still maintain a high standard thats why they're highly ranked, I imagine in low ranked universities elsewhere in the continent the students would find it much easier to pass. This is only the second step. Cart before the horse stuff. The first step is a clear definition of a failed state. No getting over this. No stories. Just the definition and how these things fit in. Only then shall we worry about all of these assertions he raised. We must make sure we are spending energy on someone who knows what they are talking about. So far we've had nothing but the repetition of the same statements multiple times over. In other words, a long rant. |
patriot4: I don't like responding to you and I don't want to because you have spammed this topic a lot, but I will do one last exception:Well, you decided to post things in response to my posts. That much was clear. So, no point saying you don't like responding to be. You've done exactly what you've been complaining about. In other words, you're a hypocrite and you deserve to be told that directly. Adding Lagos's current appearance still doesn't lead the viewer to conclude "oh, military growth! Development! " It doesn't. You were just upset at the image posted and you figured you'd post a better image/video. And in that way, you did exactly what you were taking the moral high ground on. |
We can't even ride our bicycles down the street https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjSUlde6tuI Nee fok man! |
patriot4: Growth in military might is proportional to the speed of developpement.Assuming your theory is right (the jury still being out) how does your video show that, given that it doesn't show when military growth started in Nigeria - so that we can say from the video - yes this is proportional? Please - don't try to make excuses for having done what you've been trying to get me silenced for. |
patriot4: The key word is "rapidity". I repeat "rapidity". which is to say that if the growth is rather non existant then the argument becomes irrelevant.I'm sure no reader understands this post. Only the writer does. |
patriot4: The videos I posted are to showcase the rapid infrastructure and developpment going on in Nigeria, since that is closely related to military growth as well.My point exactly. AndrewZA's point too. And by default, the point of the moderators who've kept my posts on notwithstanding attempts to have me silenced. |
