mouxman: Great scholars, I have reliably gathered that the ,559 is still yet to receive the budget of this year. The only money available is for overhead and personel cost. But money for projects have not yet been released.I totally agree with you... Cos the next thing we will hear is that they don use our scholarship money do campaign. |
tarisdream: Please let's not see nddc as a priority...move on with your life, the day they realize themselves we take it like that. If ur not lucky to get it this year you can still differ and go next year. Move on, nddc is not the last bus stop. If they didn't call us and you Dnt have the money individually take it that your not destined to go this year.I totally agree with you... Let's just hope and pray for the best in our lives with or without this scholarship. |

Bethiano: At this point I really do not know what or who to turn to?My dear, I understand ur pain and anger but I must tell you that your words this morning is not nice. We all have our stories and if we all start sharing it here, you will find out your situation is better than most of us here. I have been applying for NDDC since 3years now with no success but that hadn't made me to curse anyone simply because they are lucky enough to have someone in power. Like I said the first time our lives doesn't depend on this scholarship or even in getting a masters. Just pray and ask God to bless and favor u inspire of the situation in this country. A lot of people have made it in life without a scholarship or even a masters degree. You and I can never be an exception as long as we believe in God. Besides, being a part of this forum might be an opportunity for u. Your helper might even be a member of this forum. Please lets appreciate every opportunity we have in life no matter the outcome, cos not everyone was as luck as you are to have experienced it. . Same goes to every other person here. Cheers. |
Wishing you guys a blissful week ahead. |

EMMABC1: I have an idea that can help us actualize this dream promptly. Pls I want us to move quickly to our facebook and twitter handles and start bringing to GEJ and Abati's notice about the delay in d shortlisting and d rumour of suspension we are hearing. Knowing fully well that GEJ is a listening president and very active on facebook, we can count on him to take prompt action on this. I believe this will work for us if we can be passionate, decorous and sensible in doing that. God will see us through.Trust me, a lot of people will not be passionate and sensible over this like you would want them to be. Besides, their budget was just approved by the senate last week, I believe that was part of the reasons for the delay. Personally I think we should just give them time and the benefit of the doubt....at least till month end then we can think of actions to take. |
SENATE PASSES FCT, NDDC, NCC AND USPF 2014 BUDGETS INTO LAW The Senate on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 passed into law four Money Bills. The Bills passed into law are the Federal Capital Territory 2014 Appropriation Bill, the Niger Delta Development Commission 2014 Appropriation Bill, the Nigerian Communication Commission 2014 Appropriation Bill and the Universal Service Provision Fund 2014 Appropriation Bill. The FCT Appropriation Bill was sponsored by the Senate Committee Chairman on FCT, Sen. Smart Adeyemi and the report on the budget was presented for Senate consideration by Sen. Domingo Obende. The FCT 2014 total budgetary allocation is N271, 042, 545, 912 billion. The breakdown of the budget is as follows: • Recurrent expenditure - N109.238 billion. • Capital Expenditure - N161.8 billion. • Overhead Cost - N60.37 billion. • Personnel Cost - N49.2 billion. • Budget Surplus - N82, 882, 531 million. The second Appropriation Bill passed by the Senate was that of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), sponsored by Sen. James Manager. A total budget of N322.600 billion in 2014 fiscal year was approved for the Commision, broken down into: • Project Expenditure - N295.05 billion. • Capital Expenditure - N2.2 billion. • Personnel Cost - N15.8 billion. • Overhead Cost of N10.1 billion. The third Appropriation Bill passed was for the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), sponsored by Sen. Gilbert Nnaji. He represented the Senate Committee on Communication in presenting the 2014 NCC budgetary allocation report to the Chamber for consideration and passage. A total of N52.516 billion was passed into law by the Hallowed Chamber for the Commission’s 2014 fiscal year. The 2014 Appropriation Bill for the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) also got the approval of the Senate. A total budget of N14.5 billion was passed for the Agency’s 2014 fiscal year. The bill was also sponsored and presented by Sen. Gilbert Nnaji. Senate President, David Mark commended the various Committees that worked hard to ensure the passage of the four Appropriation Bills. He urged them to ensure adequate oversight of the budgets for optimal implementation in 2014. Meanwhile, the Social Housing Bill 2014, sponsored by Sen. Bukar Abba Ibrahim, has been stood down for lack of appropriate means of funding the project but has been referred to Senate Joint Committees on Judiciary, Rules and Business, Appropriation, Finance and Constitution Amendment to proffer an acceptable means of funding. csimms7: Did they give you a fixed date? I take it though that you are learned, last two years wasn't it August they got their award letters? We are waiting specialists, you can as well go to nddc and tell them to take your name off their list even if you would merit it. There is no set pattern, you can't use the outcome of last year alone to judge. Plus they have never told us a particular budget set out for scholars since they started. It will also be nice if you don't insult or discredit each other's opinion. He may or may not be right but as it stands now, no one knows the true state of things so all we need to do now is to pray and hope for the best. Always remember, our lives do not depend on this scholarship and that God's will and purpose for our lives is the best.... And that's what we should be seeking right now. |
cabaye: the rumour you heard is likely to be true. the 350 million given to Nddc didn't cover the scholarships scheme and so will be left out. we just have to wait and see what happens this month.Hi Cabaye, am confused here. Am not doubting your news but i just need some clarification. Has the budget been approved by the senate, if yes, how much is it? N322.6 Billion or 350 Million? Please enlighten us more. |
