Politics › Re: Buhari’s First Year In Office Gets Approval Rating Of 64% - NOIPolls by crazymod: 10:53am On May 31, 2016 |
dre11: ........Approves commission on ease of doing business
[b]Iyobosa Uwugiaren and Tobi Soniyi in Abuja
The public opinion poll conducted by NOIPolls Limited in a series of monthly presidential approval ratings to appraise the job performance of President Muhammadu Buhari since assuming office on May 29, 2015, has revealed that the president got an average job approval rating of 64 per cent. However, Buhari was rated very low on job creation at 14 per cent, and handling of the economy at 21 per cent.
The rating came as the president Monday approved the formation of a presidential commission on the ease of doing business in Nigeria.
In the report released yesterday, NOIPolls said Buhari had the highest rating of 80 per cent in October 2015, and lowest rating of 42 per cent in April 2016.
“Interestingly, compared to one year ago, 44 per cent of Nigerians believe the country is currently moving in the right direction, while 37 per cent believe it’s moving in the wrong direction, leaving only 19 per cent who believe the country is neither moving in the right nor wrong direction,” NOIPolls said in its report released Monday.
“Furthermore, in terms of specific indicators, Nigerians rated the president’s performance on corruption at 55 per cent, national security, 47 per cent as average, while he was rated very poorly on job creation, 14 per cent and handling of the economy, 21 per cent.’’
According to the poll, when asked of the most important issue Buhari’s administration should focus its attention on in the remaining three years of his tenure, Nigerians were said to have identified unemployment, 21 per cent; power, 17 per cent; and the economy, 16 per cent as the top priority areas.
The group said further analysis of the president’s approval rating based on geo-political zones indicated that the North-west and North-east geopolitical zones with 81 per cent each, had the highest proportion of respondents who approved of the president’s job performance, while the South-south and South-east zones with 35 per cent each accounted for the highest proportion of respondents who disapproved of the president’s performance.
The organisation added: “Interestingly, the average approval of 64 per cent cuts across all age groups, although it appears more male than female respondents, 67 per cent versus 60 per cent seemed to approve of his performance.
NOIPolls prides itself as the number one country specific polling services in West Africa, conducting periodic opinion polls and studies on various socio-economic and political issues in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, President Buhari has approved the formation of a presidential commission on the ease of doing business in the country.
A statement issued in Abuja by the Senior Special Assistant to the the Vice President, Mr. Laolu Akande, said his boss, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, announced this while presiding over the first quarterly consultation between the presidency and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) last Friday.
“Buhari has approved a high-powered commission to work on the issues around the ease of doing business in the country,” he added.
Akande said the commission would have a secretariat to be headed by a private sector professional who would be appointed to lead the secretariat of the commission.
He said MAN raised among many concerns, their worries about cases of multiple taxation, and in response, the vice president promised to followup on the matter, adding that “one of the key issues the presidential commission which I am heading would be looking at is the case of multiple taxation.”
He said the Ministry of Trade and Investment was also actively engaged with same issued.
At the end of the meeting, the President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Dr. Frank Udemba Jacobs, expressed concern about the acts of vandalism on oil and gas installations describing it as economic sabotage.
Jacobs said the association was happy about what the federal government was doing, adding: “We are concerned about what is happening in the Niger Delta area which is a kind of sabotaging the economic activities of the government, and therefore, we want to call on them to lay down their arms in the interest of the country.”
He called on the militants to join hands with government and move the country forward. The MAN president stated that diversification of the economy was the best way to go now given what is happening internationally.
Jacobs said the association “is keying into government policy in terms of diversification of the economy by doing their best to increase the capacity of production.

Sadbrother: I don't know how and where am going to start from, but am going to put it in a way that you will understand. . . It all started about 4years and 10 months ago, my natural colour is chocolate, so there is this cream i bought, i never knew it was a bleaching cream, i normally rub it only at night before going to bed, i did't know that it was making my skin lighter, although my sister pointed that to me, but i just ignored as if nothing because it cleared all my pimples and makes my body very smooth, which makes me looks more handsome than i am before. So i still continued using it till i became very fair, very very fair i mean, then i stopped using it because i was a very shy type, i could not go out anymore because i was very fair and was thinking what others will say. After i stopped using it, one month, two, three, four, five months past and finally 6months, but my skin is still very very fair, still the same as it is till the day i stopped using it, so i searched on google that there must be a way to make my skin to go to my original chocolate colour, then i saw a pomade named total black online that it can make the skin darker, then i ordered it but it did't work, i bought so many creams to reverse it but none of them work, i even go as far as buying 6 shoe polish, when ever i want to sleep i use cotton wool to applying it all over my body, but still it did not work i became frustrated because i could no longer walk in the day because of my very fair skin, i always think what others will reason about me, that i was dark before and suddenly how did i became very fair, then 3years past but its still the same, then i developed a plan (the sun) every single day i will bring lots of cloths out, and when the sun its out i will sit down and started pretending i was washing but in reality i need the sun to make my skin dark, my mother will complain and complain but she din't understand why, i did it for about 7months but the sun din't helped me, then i google searched of something that will make my skin more sensitive to the sun, so that i will sunburn and the next skin will be more darker than the normal one, and i saw many of them, and the most effective of them all is grinded psorolen seeds mixed with ginger, lime juice, and babchi seeds, then i ordered the psoralen and babchi seeds online from india, because its not in nigeria then, the day it arrived the next day i grounded the seeds and mixed them with lime and ginger juice and applied it on my whole body and sat on the sun at our backyard pretending i was washing clothes with my shirt off, only my boxer on. The sun was very very very hot that day, i sat on the sun from about 10:11am - 3:59pm i just say there pretending i was washing so that no one will suspect that i was up to something, after that day the next day my skin was very reddish and i mean veryyy reddish, and in 3days time some parts of my skin have big big dark patches all over, they are far more darker than my original chocolate colour, its about a week now and its still there, i have applied so many things to it but its still very dark, please help me my skin its burning am so afraid, and its getting worse every day. . I thought its a sunburn but its not its far worst than a sun burn, i can no longer take off my shirt anymore, not even singlet. Please help me please. . .
Please help me push this to front page to get more reviews and answers please. Look for good body scrub..... The outer layer of your skill will die to create way for new skin to grow. Scrub regularly during bath. I wish you can contact me but I'm not interested to expose my identity on NL. I could recommend cheap cosmetics that can solve your problem in less than one month. |

Politics › Re: No Confab Report, No Nigeria, Falae Insists by crazymod: 9:26am On May 31, 2016 |
Phonefanatic: Shocked by reports quoting President Muhammadu Buhari as saying he would want the report of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s National Conference go ‘into the so-called archives’, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Olu Falae, yesterday insisted that the country’s future and progress would depend on implementing some of the recommendations of the document.
While speaking at a public lecture with theme “Welfare Ideology and the Future of Yoruba Nation” to commemorate the 90th birthday of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti in Akure, the capital city of Ondo State, Falae explained that the 2014 confab report, though never conceded to all the recommendations made for the welfare of the Yoruba people, would actualise 80 per cent of the nation’s aspirations if implemented.
The Afenifere chieftain, who also participated in the confab, noted, “there will be no Nigeria without the report.”
Prior to Falae’s comments at the ceremony, Pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, had put forward what it said were measures to enhance the peace, prosperity and sustenance of the Yoruba people across the nation, demanding certain explanations from President Muhammadu Buhari on the persisting herdsmen attacks.
Guest speaker, Prof. Banjo Akintoye, stressed that the Yoruba people across Nigeria wanted to live an independent and progressive life, but the country’s situation had been a major setback.
Akintoye stressed the welfare ideology of the ancient Yoruba society before the first European explorer stepped into the interior of Yorubaland in 1825, to the amazement of a German professor, Ulli Beier, who lived in Yorubaland between 1950 and 1960.
He lamented that the constitutional defects in the country had affected the progress of the Yoruba nation, saying: “Nigeria has been drawing us back, and now we have to take decisions to stop Nigeria from drawing us back,” especially the recurrent herdsmen attacks on farmers.
The guest speaker faulted President Buhari on his declaration in a recent interview with Cable News Network (CNN) in London, asserting that the notorious herdsmen who have been killing farmers across the country, are Libyan militiamen and fugitives trained under Muammar Ghadaffi.
“Why did the government of Nigeria not inform Nigeria about the problem, and why did the government not take action to stop them from coming into Nigeria? Why have some Fulani spokesmen been threatening that they would break up Nigeria if these Libyan militiamen are thrown out of Nigeria?
“How do ordinary nomadic herdsmen afford to buy expensive things like AK47 rifles? How do they get trained to use such weapons? Is any rich or influential person or group supplying them with these weapons, and or training them? If yes, who are these rich or influential persons and what are they trying to achieve?”
He continued: “The president of Nigeria owes Nigeria a clear and certifiable statement on this situation. The president of Nigeria also deserves, and must have, the support of the Afenifere nation, and of other Nigerian peoples, as he investigates these matters, as he explains to Nigeria, and as he strives to remove this immense new challenge from the life of our country.”
The professor tasked Afenifere to “find ways to mobilise unity and strength at home. We Yoruba must conceive the Afenifere ideology anew as the ideology of our whole nation, and not merely the banner of a group, or of a partisan section among us.”
On the proposed grazing reserves, he expressed concerns, saying: “Are they designed by some people to house illegal armies of occupation in the states of the Middle Belt and the South? Are they meant to be also jihadist instruments for forcible islamisation of Nigerians? Or are they designed as weapons of one ethnic group’s conquest of other Nigerians?”
Chief Ayo Adebanjo lamented the defects in the constitution of the country, which led to the restructuring effected by the military after the 1966 coup d’etat to dissipate the independence and sustainability of the erstwhile regions.
“We have been clamouring for change, but the only change which the country needs is the change of the constitution,” he said, noting that the power at the federal level makes the Nigerian president the most powerful in the world at the expense of the federating states.
Adebanjo remarked that President Buhari cannot take decisive measures against the Fulani herdsmen menace in the country because “he himself is a cattle rearer.”
Governor Olusegun Mimiko confirmed the menace of the herdsmen and the impending danger it poses to the peace and security of the nation if proactive measures are not taken to curtail it.
Mimiko stressed that the safety which the Yoruba nation and other states have in the constitution against the new grazing reserve policy is in the Land Use Act that vests exclusive powers in the state governments. “In Ondo State, there is no land for grazing,” he said.
The celebrant, Fasoranti, recounted his experiences during the pre- and post-colonial eras; and his followership of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, noting that Afenifere is the “Soul of Nigeria.”
He appreciated the members of the group for organising such a public lecture in his honour and Governor Mimiko, who named a 42, 000 square metres park after him in Alagbaka; and the Afenifere Renewal Group led by Chief Olu Adegboro for presenting a portrait to him.
Others who attended the event included: Chief Iyiola Omisore, Asiwaju Seinde Arogbofa, Chief Korede Duyile, members of Afenifere and representatives of pressure groups across the country.

Businessideas: Nigeria to begin exporting rice from Kebbi State
The Buhari led administration said Nigerian farmers would begin exporting rice in months.
The statement was made on behalf of the president by the Acting Director, Corporate Communication of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Isaac Okoroafor.
According to Okoroafor, “Out of 6.1 million tons of rice needed to feed Nigerians, Kebbi State farmers alone produced over one million tons.
Okoroafor said the Apex bank is set to increase loans to rice farmers. The farmers in reaction said they are yet to be able to access the funds. In response, Okoroafor stated that “From the N220 billion, we are doing what is called the Anchor Borrower Program. We have just completed a pilot project in Kebbi State on rice and other states like Ebonyi, Taraba and Benue are queuing up.
“The Buhari led administration have realized that when farmers borrow money on their own to plant tomatoes, rice, cassava, and other farm produce, after harvesting, nobody take the produce from them and the market is lean too.
http://vanguardnigeria.org/nigeria-begin-exporting-rice-kebbi-state/ Ebonyi state should also follow up and benefit from the loan.......... In 80s, rice called Abaliki was famous in the market though it has sand and cheaper. |

dridowu: Panaji: Goa Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar on Monday said that Nigerian nationals not just "create problems" in Goa, but across the country too. The minister's comment comes even as African nationals in New Delhi staged a protest against rising attacks on them and a group of African students also met Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar in the regard. Parulekar, asked to comment on accusations of rape and kidnapping against two Africans levelled by a woman at Mapusa police station on Sunday, said that Nigerian students commit crimes on purpose to prolong their stay, sell drugs and indulge in "unwanted things". He also said that a strict pan-India law should be enacted to deport them within one month. "Nigerians create problem not just in Goa, but in the entire country. Nigerian students come to Goa and India to study, they get an FIR filed (against them), make it a judicial matter and then try to stay in India or Goa and indulge in drugs and other unwanted things," Parulekar said. "Two years ago I had heard they had blocked the (national highway 17) highway. India should have a strict law, where the police force can catch them and deport them back. But that law is not in India at the moment, therefore it is a weak point in matters of governance," Parulekar said, adding that those who have been "black-listed" or have committed crimes should be deported within a month. Police in Goa are on the lookout for two young Africans, who late on Saturday allegedly kidnapped a woman at knife-point and later raped her at a rented room in Assagao village, 20 km north of Panaji. The exact nationality of the African nationals is still not confirmed, according to the police.
