excanny:Since you have decided to publicly display your stupidity. Will you put off Christmas break for work in a government owned firm? Since it's the same service to your nation. |
sweetgala:Brother, thanks for your maturity in approaching the situation. I just wanted to note that these boys will skip it if they could, but the only permissible reason for skipping it is if the person is on their period or has health issues which may deteriorate if they fast. However, missing one day will mean paying back with 60days and even then the reward is in no way comparable to fasting that one day. |
I have just recently completed a master's degree in the UK and got an offer for a job. Hence I am looking to switch from tier 4 to tier 2 visa. The company is providing sponsorship and will most likely be makin the application on my behalf. However, on 2 occasions I worked about 23hours a week on tier 4 due to mid-interpretation of the "term-time" in the tier 4 visa rules. I was wondering if there is any possibility that this might have any negative impact on my tier 2 visa application. Has anyone done this before? Your opinions will be highly appreciated. Thanks. cc justwise |
marauka:Please note, december is seen as term time. ofcourse unless the semester ends before the christmas period. but if you are considering to use the christmas and new year break it is still term time unless your semester ends before then. |
fred4fred:Do you have the naira in cash or in your bank account. if its in your account you can always use money changers. bt if its in cash omo e go difficult o |
OlowoB:olowoB, regardless of the fact that we are both in scotland, we havent met but i got to say this, God bless you for ansering this in a civilized manner. some people would have said something like "you will neva get a visa if you try that" to someone who is juat trying to look for a way out, all in the name of "stating facts". And this goes to everyone out there who has heard things like "your school is not one of the russel group uni" "you cant get a job with that certificate" bla bla bla, one thing i have to say is, "man no be God". RGU had 97% (highest in the UK) post graduate employability in 2013/2014. yet it wasn't even among top 50 then. yet someone would come to nairaland and begin to decide who will and who wont get the jobs. since na them be board of directors of all the companies in the UK |
fullofregrets:That's it dear, am not gonna say you did wrong by telling him ir doing the abortion, you had your reasons for doing the abortion and anyone who hasn't been in your shoes has no bloody right to judge you. however am not gonna blame him too for leaving, in our society eyes have seen, ears have heard, the fact that he wanted you to be pregnant first doesnt mean he'll make a fair weather husband. just imagine you've got one son and he comes home with a girl he intends to marry and you realise the same thing would you be skeptical about their union or not? that's what iur society has done to us. they have made it seem like anyone who does an abortion already has a damaged womb. but my dear that's the society's fault not his. but i just believe if its meant to be it will be. kapish. wipe your tears, put some make up on and live your life, you'll find a better person who would love your deeper than you could ever imagine. abortion is not ebola |
sassyboochic:i applied for my first visa in august last year and was denied, i didnt get my refund for ihs, i re-applied in december and had to pay another ihs fee, got my visa in january, i didn't get my refund for the ihs for the visa that was denied in august until febuary this year. just wait till you get your documents. over anxiety makes the mind get negative. just take ur mind away from it and focus on something else, just one day you dont expect you'll get the email |
CSSPATRICK:I tried this thing too. but the truth is the only way to know is to wait patiently till the day you get your documents |
emmalebgus:Call the post graduate office and ask for an extension, explain to them. they'll grant you an extension. |
TrumpsWall:Honestly i can't remember how long it took, but its exactly what i updated then. if it was 10days then thats how long it took. yours might be faster. they dont have a fixed timeline. congrats |
dtyla:free up space on your hard disk, the app is not getting enough space to run efficiently. it will solve both problems you pointed out |
lilmax:Now you see how difficult it is for you to understand the difference between a difficult task and an impossible one? that's what happens when they hand you 2:1 on a platter of gold. |
lilmax:i made 2:1 bro, you can take the poison now |
lilmax:alot of people compare a 2:2 in geology in unilorin to a first class in your beloved "private uni" don't mind them, they totally missed it. i'll say a 2:2 in geology, chemical engineering, physics etc in unilorin is equivalent to a phd holder in your private uni. |
I don't comment on threads like this but i'm gonna make this an exception. I must say whether you graduate with a 2:1 or 2:2 even if na "2:3" sef, trust me it is your intellect that the labour market wants to test. i graduated with a 2:2 in a federal university in Nigeria, but you know what? i also graduated with a distinction in a university oversees and also as the best graduating student, the morale of the story is, if i had been depressed i won't even fight anymore, i had every reason to give up, but i told myself i deserved better. if she believes the grade is all she has then by all means she should keep brooding over it. but if she believes she has alot of potentials and that she deserves more than what she got then she should wipe her tears and keep fighting. an adage says "if someone pushes you auch that you fall, people will blame the person for pushing you, but if you stay too long on the floor and refuse to get up, people will blame you for over-reacting". just my 2cent. |
MrKamar:looking at the function being called by this statement document.write( findMax(1, 123, 500, 115, 44, 88)) the arguments parsed are "1" "123" "500" "115" "44" "88" however in programming, these numbers are automatically assigned the index numbers "0" "1" "2" "3" "4" "5" respectively, which is represented by the "i" now this is what happens: it starts at i=0 and picks the argument with that index, then runs the following block of code: if (arguments[i] > max) { max = arguments[i]; } which aimply means if the argument with index "i" (note that at the beginning i=0 so the argument at index 0 is "1" ) is greater than "max" (note that at the begining max =0 ) then the value of "the argument at index "i" should be assigned to max(i.e the value of max should change to the value of that argument). and then the loop repeats itself again after adding 1 to the value of "i" (simply put it moves to the next index and picks the value of the argument with that index in this case "123" . kapish |
MrKamar:Am not much of a javascript person, but from my experience with other programming languages i can tell you this: "findMax" in that code is a function that was declared with the keyword "function" in that function, two variables were declared "i" and "max" with the intention of using "i" as our counter to loop through the arguments. and "max" to hild the maximum value. what the for loop is doing is "it equates "i" to zero for the first iteration and checks if "zero" is less than the number of "arguments parsed into the function "findMax", if it is it goes to the if statement to check if the argument with the index of "zero" is greater than "max" if it is then the value of max is replaced by the value of the agrument with that index, else it goes back to the if statement and adds one to the value of "i" and repeats the loop, recall it checks to be sure "i" is less than the number of items in the argument |
Fame333:Kindly imagine a situation where the reverse is the case, would you say the same? just my thought |
spacyzuma:Abi o, and yet they treat us like criminals at poe. if they see a Nigerian they'll beef up secuirity. lol |
Awon omo wobe |
mrcodebreaker:Trust me these schools need your money and they are ready to get it by any means. majority of applications they get for post-graduate programmes are from Nigeria. there are more nigerians in my class than any other nationality. schools like Robert Gordon, Uni Aberdeen i know have arrangements for Nigerians to pay their fees |
fizzile:What i will advise is that anyone coming should be ready to work part-time, ita just the way to go, if you are very rich and don't have any problem with the exchange rate, then you don't have to if you don't want to. Although i won't advice working during your first semester, you might need to focus more since its a new system, new environment you might wanna try to get used to the mode of teaching get to know what they expect in the exams and all, den after your first semester you sure won't need money from home, you can even make enough to send home if u like(depending on how high ur hustle spirit is). but if you feel you can cope den you can start working d moment you get here. my opinion is based on the fact that i changed field nd resumed late so it was rough at first bt i found my bearing |
fizzile:Masses on the recieving end of the effects of incompetencies on the part of our leaders |
BarryJones:I'ld say you should contact student finance department in you school, obviously they are aware of the issues with money transfer from Nigeria since they get alot of applications from Nigeria. they will let you know the available payment methods. some schools now have seperate package for Nigerians to pay their fees. just my 2 cents |
fizzile:With the daily and monthly cummulative limits place on atm and pos withdrawals i doubt if he can withdraw that much through atm. last i tried with my uba i could only withdraw a max of 50pounds a day. sending moneygram and western union from nigerian banks has also been placed on hold by most banks. Its just so annoying |
There's this rumour going about on the internet about the UK introducing visa free entry for members commonwealth countries coming in for less than 6months stay. does anyone know how credible this info is? |
omojeesu:I already did in my previous post on this thread, i don't think there is any need to repeat it. if you doubt anythin i said there google is ur friend or do your research. it appears y'ou lotz don't even read much these days |
omojeesu:No one is saying Allah didn't perform miracles through jesus in the Quran, indeed none of the prophets Saalih,Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Muhammed would be able to perform any miracles on their own except that which Allah does through him. |
Drienzia:I was gonna skip this but i thought about people who don't really understand islam, they might actually believe the things you've said.Let me point this out, the quran didnt say "if you find anything confusing here, you can ask those who read the bible" Please and please do not interprete the quran if you don't know the first thing about it. That verse you are talking about says "if thou wert in doubt as to what we have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the book from before thee, the truth halt indeed come to thee from the lord. So be in no wise of those in doubt". lot of people interprete scriptures the way they like, it is a common thing these days, am not surprised. You talked about jesus performing miracles in the quran, yes i agree, as a matter of fact, the day a muslim stops believing in jesus is the day he seizes to be a muslim, muslims believe in jesus, he is one of the prophets of God just like Moses, Jacob, Abraham, Muhammed and others. Jesus wasnt the only one who performed miracles, Moses did, and Muhammed did as well, some of the miracles performed by muhammed include: 1. He caused two trees to move at his command 2. splitting of the moon 3. He provided food and water supernaturally on several occasions 4.He made a barren ewe produce milk 5. The Night Journey Amongst others, the quran is regarded as his greatest miracle. He also had alot of prophecies that eventuated some of wch include: 1. He said his daughter fatimah would be the first of his family to die after him which eventuated. 2.He told his wives that the most charitable one among them(zaynab bint jahsh) would be the first to die i really would love to go on and on but time won't permit me. you also talked about mary. just a point of correction, she wasn't really the only woman mentioned in the quran. The mentioned lot of ladies such as: 1.Eve (wife of Adam) 2.wives of Noah and lut 3.Daughters of Lut 4. Sarah (Wife of Abraham) 5. Zulaykha(wife of Aziz) 6.Mother and sister of moses 7.Wife of moses 8.Asiyah(wife of pharaoh) 9.Balqis (Queen of sheeba) 10. wife of imran 11wife of Abu lahab But maryam was the only one who was referred to by name, others such as sarah, asiyah, eve were referred to as wife of Abraham, wife of pharaoh, wife of Adam respectively. if maryam had a husband it probably would refer to her as wife of ......, (Allahu Allam). My brother just because you watched a 30mins video made buy someone who "claims" he knows about islam doesn't automaticaly make you a scholar with knowledge of the quran. |
emmaxman:yes, evn more complex ones, flexibility nd reliability wt d layers in ohotoshop can give u anytin |
