As you can see from all the replies; no Nigerian likes it the way it is now. This means both the optimists and the pessimists reallY need this change you are talking about. The world just needs dreamers that will stick to their dreams, no matter what.
Nevertheless, I recommend you get really prepared for the task. You want to be a leader; leadership means influencing others to willingly follow you. You must demonstrate where you have influenced others to follow you willingly. Your foreign birth is secondary, once you start right people will not even remember it. Change is inevitable in Nigeria. Come to think of it, since I was born it has been one Government after another and things still remain the way it is. No time in history has a country gone the way Nigeria is now without major change.

As has been suggested by the good posters here, get information, lots of it. A lot of us in this country are sick of all the recycling going on in politics and beleive me my brother it will not remain so for eternity. If we keep quiet as we have done in the past, heaven will not come down to Nigeria. We must act and decisively too; the greatest enemy of man is ignorance and fear but time has come.

We need change. The 8 stages of creating major change:

1. Establishing a sense of urgency;

2. Creating the guiding coalition;

3. Developing a vision and strategy;

4. Communicating the change vision (very important in Nigeria);

5. Empowering broad based action;

6. Generating short term wins;

7. Consolidating gains and producing more change ;

8. Anchoring new approaches in the culture.

Act fast before others do and take the glory. You will have a lot of supporters once you start something; create a website maybe. We are all hungry for this change.

I really took some time to go through all these posts and wonder how good can be twisted to something else.
dargly is absolutely right, you become what you practise more. If you can maintain a dual identity good for you but communication becomes subconscious after a while.

Good English always is great; sell yourself always, even when you're off gurad. If you know everything it is only what you show others that they will believe you have.

When I wrote mine last year, ie Sclumberger pre-screening test it was basic mathematics, physics and mechanical appreciation.

This man tommy never ceases to amaze everyone.
Congrats on the invitation, the interview is really straight forward. They wouldn't ask you anything strange, they are just watching your reaction thats all.

Only advice is just know who's a customer and be yourself.

POSITION 2 Technical Professional Associate – Well Design

Responsibilities: This is the entry-level position for Well Engineering. Performs assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles. Duties include assisting daily in updating of well plans and survey files; monitoring well paths and performing assigned tasks in checking anti-collision criteria, etc; Anti-collision, Torque and Drag, Bottom Hole Assembly (BHA) analysis in both planning and drilling phases. Assists in the preparation of proposals, tenders, technical reports, etc. and any other assigned duties that will assist in the professional and efficient operation of the directional drilling office. At this level, assignments are generally well defined with clear and specified development objectives. I've come to realise in life that people are the architect of their own path to success. Don't get me wrong, God determines who u'll be but u choose the path. If u want to work in a bank and know very well that u're future is not guaranteed, why do it. Am an Engineer, I said no to banking and am better off now than most of my friends that went for banking. Choose what u want but remember "the future is more important than today".

I also got this employ employ thing. I ignord them, why cant a company say its name . Even at test level, these guys are taking Nigerians for a ride. But I must add pal the decision is yours.
