There's no problem. I love my family. I can forfeit the conference and enjoy my new bundle of joy. There will always be another opportunity.

The conference will last for 7 days. I can go, if given Visa. Yet, I can decide not to apply.

There's no Anglican or Roman Catholic priest that will use B1 Visa to migrate to the US. There's none. That will be the end of your priestly vocation. Unless your Bishop is part of the shady deal, which is unlikely.

Bla bla bla! How do you intend to make heaven if I may ask? I repeat, you plan is to migrate! Seen several of your types on ground and on here. I remember a "thief" that wore a cassock and acted his film well and got his visa the day I got my first, his conversation with his "gang" outside after the success when he came out from the embassy still hurts me till now? What if I told you I have a congregation under me in one on of the major ministries in Nigeria and worldwide? Don't teach me GOD! The spirit of discernment says you are a deceptive person, and you will be disgraced soon for this you are doing! You just don't know me too please.... Go get other travels for yourself and give the US a break for your good.
I know. I know. Experiences affect our judgement. Sorry, the man in cassock disappointed you. Hood doesn't make a monk. Thank you for your take.

LadyGuinivere, KaptainAfrika, OmoBendel24, Sebastine1606, judging someone outrightly is not fair just because he was denied Visa.

My wife and I applied and submitted Ds160 form in June. We intended to travel on 10th July and come back in August. We were to spend only 3 weeks. By first week of August, she would be only 7 months pregnant.

But, when we wanted to book appointment, we didn't even get date in June and July. We got August.

We went for interview. Before interview, we were advised never to talk about what we are not asked about.

VO asked us why we are going to the US, we told her we are going for vacation and Synod. She asked if we have kids, we said no. She asked if I have traveled before, I said yes. She asked if we traveled together that time, I said no.

We said the truth. I didn't know I should have told her that we are going for vacation and Synod, and that my wife is pregnant but we didn't intend to have our baby in the US. I didn't know we should have explained that. People told us that if you explain what you are not asked, they will see you as being too forward.

Now, a clergy, a member of our Diocese who has stayed in the US for 37 years is inviting me to a conference in his church. I will be speaking at the conference pro Bono.

My wife can't follow me because of the new born baby. The conference is only 7 days. I want to go for the Conference, but I can also decide not to go. It's not a do or die conference.

I have a life in Nigeria. I pastor a big congregation of an Anglican Church. I'm married with a kid. My wife is a student. And, you are telling me that I'm lying that I just want to relocate to the US. That's not true.

There's no way I can stay beyond the approval of my Lord Bishop. What will I be doing in the US? How will I even parade myself as a clergy without a written letter of release from my Bishop. Unless you mean my Bishop is also part of the shady deal like you have believed.

Where will I stay in the US after the conference is over and my host will be getting ready to escort me to the airport? Does that mean that this elderly clergy who has lived for 37 years in the US is part of the shady deal? I don't have or know anybody in the US.

I'm attending this conference with the permission of my wife. US is not heaven and I still have opportunities to travel the world. I'm not desperate. I'm an international minister of God. It will manifest fully. I will tour nations.

In 2012, I was in India to study multimedia. I knew what I encountered there. I was even single then. India was good. But, after my studies, I left without overstaying for one day.

So, speaking authoritatively that you know all my plans is quite unfair.

This forum or this thread is full of valuable information, but harassing people because you are one of people that give incisive information here, is totally unfair.

There are 101 people that got Visas, yet they lied during the interview.

There are 101 people also that were denied, yet, they said the truth and have ties.

VOs are not God. They are humans. They can misinterpret things.

***

In the thread I created, I wanted to use company and not church because NL is a secular forum. I wanted to paint a normal scenario that was why I used company.

But, later in the thread, I decided to be plain to someone that commented on the thread.

It's like someone saying this - "A friend of mine wants to get Visa to go meet his girlfriend who's a citizen, what are the documents?" Then, later in the thread, he says, "In fact, it's me. Let me explain further how I met her and bla bla."

You can't crucify the person for trying to be anonymous in the first place. We are not conducting interview here. This is why we use usernames and all that. This is why writers use pen names.

So, when I said my company, I was not trying to be shady.

So, please, I'm not trying to play any game. If you advice me that accepting to attend this conference when I have a new born baby who I should stay around to enjoy his arrival, may look as if I'm desperate to the VO, then I can reason with you. But telling me that my plans are bursted, is lame. There no bursting here. I'm credible beyond what you might think.

If I want to relocate to the US as a clergy with my family, there's a laid down procedures for doing it in the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion). The Bishop over there, the Primate of the Church of Nigeria and my own Bishop will work it out and I will be applying for Religious Visa, which will enable me to work.

Besides that, no sane clergy of Anglican Church and Roman Catholic Church will just travel with a visiting Visa and then stay back. Stay back for what and on whose episcopal permission?

Thank you. Let's keep on giving value.

Oga boss, I can't just jump and pass! You and @JWT just dey reign for the thread.

Your case is a clear one of desperation, and it will soon earn you a proper red-flagging at best and a ban at worst. Lemme attempt to tell you your plan. Seems everyone is some bit sugarcoating what should be told you in plain and clear terms, and I will help, ain't taking prisoners on this one.

You actually don't have money for birthing like you rightly said, you wanted to relocate with your family to the US back of a B1/B2 visa, you also wanted to birth without payment from your pocket, on an anchor baby route proper. That has failed, and sense has departed you, you have studied the thread and twerked it to fit your desperation albeit directionlessly. Your decision now is to go alone, relocating without your wife and child for now. You want to use the thread and our head to know how to do this....

The simple answer is that you will be found out, particularly because of your impatience! Punishment awaits you if wisdom will not return to you early now....
Believe what you want to believe. It's lame trying to police people that are denied Visa. You don't know me and you don't know whether I'm saying the truth or not. You are just worked up and guessing.

Please, I need your help about US Visa Application.

My company is sending me to US for a business. I have a letter from my company indicating they are sending me. I have a letter of invitation from our business partner. I want to apply for a B1 Visa. I will be staying 3 months.

Here's my challenge...

I want to travel with my wife. While filling the DS-160 form,
1. Should I indicate that she will be accompanying me?

If yes,

2. Will she also fill a separate DS-160 form and book interview?

3. What kind of Visa will she apply for? B2?

***
4. Since my company is sponsoring me, will I need a copy of the company's bank account statement to convince the consular that my travel expenses will be taken care of while in the US?

5. How long does Visa processing take? I will be attending a conference which will start on 13th July. I want to apply for visa on Thursday 8th June. Possible date of interview is showing 23rd June. Can we get the visa before 13th July?

Thank you so much.
So, what's your point?
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by CreativeWeb(m): 9:17am On Sep 21, 2017
LadyGuinivere:
@creativeweb
First neither a big congregation nor a letter is a tie. You actually weaken your wife and baby as ties by your willingness to leave a first time mum to travel for " a conference for the church "
The Anglican church has a gazillion priests and a conference isn't a do it die affair.
I think that after being denied just last month, this application reeks of 'repackaging and desperation'
And that the outcome will not be different.

A baby is a change in circumstance but your willingness to leave them does not work in your favour. I think you should with all due respect, do more of the church business for at least 6 months or a year and if possible, visit another country. You can visit the sister church of England.
Modify/Add : After going through your posts, your application becomes a whole lot shadier. Il point out a few minuses for you
* U didn't mention your wife's pregnancy at the first interview. Credibility shot
* your story has evolved. First your company was sponsoring you and you wanted your wife to accompany you. ( with a new baby or bout to pop belly. OK) Later the church started sponsoring you and the wife who despite being a student is ALSO a pastor. Later you evolved to travelling alone after being advised in NL.
The same way I was jobless today and read all over. Same way the VOs are also jobless. cheesy
My advice remains the same. Do not reapply Now. Free advice
Lol. Actually, when I said company, I wanted to just paint a scenario. I was not trying to hide anything. And church is a company's by the way. That's why a conference is a business.

My wife is a student and also a pastor. She pastors the women. We call them 'Ochiora' meaning leaders of people or women.

I didn't mention her pregnancy because it was obvious she was pregnant. And I was not asked about her pregnancy. I didn't know I should have gone ahead to explain her pregnancy.

Lol. Nobody advised me on NL to travel alone. There's nothing shady in all these ooo.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by CreativeWeb(m): 12:53am On Sep 21, 2017
LadyGuinivere, look at this...

My wife and I applied for the US Visa and were interviewed in August. She was pregnant. But, HONESTLY, we were not traveling so that she will have our baby there. In fact, we didn't plan that because we don't have such money. We wanted to travel for vacation and also to celebrate her birthday. Moreover, we will return to Nigeria before she gives birth.

But, unfortunately, we were denied Visa.

I'm a clergy. My Bishop gave me letter of approval for us to travel and come back.

Here's the interview transcript...

***

VO: Why are you going?
ME: To have our annual vacation.

VO: What do you do?
ME: I'm a priest with the Anglican Church.

She asked my wife, what do you do?
WIFE: I'm a student.

VO: Have you traveled before?
ME: Yes

VO: Where?
ME: India

VO: What did you go there to do?
ME: To study.

VO: Did you travel together that time to India?
ME: No.

VO: Do you have children?
ME: No.

VO: Sorry, I will not be granting you Visa today.
ME: Thank you.

That was it.

Now, I want to reapply. My Diocese is sending for a Church Conference in the US. I will be going alone.

I have a baby now because my wife was put to bed this September.

I want to stay only two weeks.

My ties to Nigeria...

1. Wife and baby.

2. A big congregation I pastor as a clergy.

3. My elderly parents.

4. My Bishop has not approved I stay beyond two weeks.

Guys, what do you think?

Hello CreativeWeb. You are welcome to apply again. That said, it sounds like you and your wife were not honest about your purpose of travel at your previous interview. Credibility is paramount in the US visa process. If an applicant damages their credibility in a previous application, it can be very difficult for them to qualify for visas.

@Sebastine1606, thank you for your input, but please refrain from responding to visa queries on this particular thread.
Honestly, we were honest. My wife was not going there to have our baby. We didn't even plan that. We were going for few weeks vacation.

Hello Abujaniv and Lagosniv.

My wife and I applied for the US Visa in August for vacation. But we were denied. My wife was pregnant.

Now, she was put to bed this September.

My Bishop wants to send me to the US to represent the Diocese in a church conference. I'm a clergy.

I want to go alone since I will be staying just 3 weeks and my new born baby is too tender for international travel.

I will be going for interview this October. Did I apply so soon, since we were denied in August?

What if the VO asks me why I don't want to travel with my wife and baby, what should I answer?

I just wish VOs have a totally perfect way of spotting legit non-immigrants.

Thank you for the good job you are doing here.

I cannot speak to individual cases in this forum. You are free to present whatever information you believe will be persuasive to convince the VO who interview you of your ties.
I see. Last time, we didn't present any documented information because we were not asked. We had our employer's letter and invitation letter from our host.

So, is it right to present documented information to VO without being asked?

Hello LagosNIV, I went for interview this August with my wife. She was pregnant. She's a student. I have a good work. My employer gave us letter of his approval for our vacation. But, we were denied Visa. I don't know why.

This October, I want to attend a conference in the US. I will be going alone. My wife and our newly born will not travel with me. I still have my employer's permission to travel for the Conference. It's a church conference. I'm a clergy and my employer is a Bishop.

Are my wife and kid and my employment enough home tie?

Hello Abujaniv, I have booked for appointment.

3rd August.

But when I submitted Ds160 form, I indicated that my intended date of travel is 10th July.

Something happened and I couldn't book the appointment on time. So, I booked appointment on 22nd June and got 3rd August for interview.

Although the conference I'm attending will start on 10th August and ends on 20th August.

I put 10th July as intended date of travel because I wanted to stay in the US for six weeks.

But as it is now, I want to stay for three weeks only.

I will be traveling with my wife.

We have strong home ties.

1. We are pastors in a large congregation under a Bishop. The Bishop gave us letter of approval to travel for the conference.

2. My wife is an undergraduate in a university in Nigeria and cannot abandon her education.

Fingers crossed.

What do you think?

PS - Don't tell me you are not thinking anything. Lol

Hello Abujaniv, I tried making payment for Visas today at GTBank. When it got to the point of typing in my passport number, an error message came out saying that the passport number is already in use. I have never used it to schedule any appointment before today. What might be the problem?

If it's the customer service that will solve it, how do I reach them?

Hello Abujaniv, good morning.

I filled and submitted Ds160 application form on 7th June, 2017. For some reasons, I have not paid or scheduled for interview.

I tried paying yesterday, GTBank staff told me the portal is not opening.

I will go back on Tuesday or Wednesday 21st June to do it.

My questions:

1. Can a submitted Ds160 form expire after a certain period?

2. Is it a problem if the date of Ds160 submission and date of Visa payment have a big gap?

Hello, Abujaniv, good evening.

Please, I have two urgent questions to ask.

1. Our intended date of travel is 10th July, but I wanted to book interview appointment, 10th July came up as the available date for appointment. Meanwhile, the conference we are attending starts on 13th July.

Will this pose any problem?

2. My wife and I are going to the conference to represent our Bishop who is a Bishop of a Diocese. He has written a letter addressed to the Consular General stating that he's sending us to represent him at the conference and that he will bear all our travel expenses. I pastor a large congregation under the Bishop as my employer. My wife is still a student in the University and don't intend to leave her studies.

Are these ties strong enough?

Don't apply with your wife since it's an official trip. When you return from the trip you can apply with your wife on a personal trip. This answers your questions 1 - 3
4. Go with your company statement of account (though they hardly ask to see it)
5. This will be determined by the traffic (but the earlier the better)
Actually, she's part of the conference.

Let me make it clearer, I'm a Pastor. My church is sending us to attend Synod conference and Women's Conference of a sister church in the US.
