I just had to defend the great writers we have in the Literature section...it wasn't fair what he did.
abi na. My brother 4get matter for mattias abi mathew. If you reply to such criticism with anger you will only be giving op a chance to justify his stand. In simple pidgin english : e dae pain u grin
OR IN ENGLISH : you are guilty as charged.

Just relax.. Btw thanks man for standing up for writers on nairaland. I appreciate. Jah bless up!

You could say this if your criticism was constructive, but it definitely wasn't. It is obvious you have tunnel vision when it comes to literary works and expect every form of writing to be one-way. And it is also obvious you have never created anything before, that is why you are so quick to tear down people's works.

Now look at some parts of your initial post and tell me you didn't blatantly disrespect all the great writers in this section.

"I haven't been able to make it past a single paragraph of any story I have clicked on, DESPITE READING OVER 60 STORIES ON THIS BOARD."

"The writers who managed to utilize proper grammar in their first paragraphs were just terribly uncreative with words and the expositions and descriptions were like something you'd read from the transcript of AN UNEDUCATED 8 YEAR OLD NARRATING AN ORDEAL."

"The imagery I got from the ones I managed to read past a sentence were dull, ugly, uninspiring frames and shapes that EVOKED DISGUST AND ALMOST MADE ME GAG AS THEY AROSE IN MY MIND."

If you call the above CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, there must be something wrong with your brain. I have a background in Psychology, and it is very clear you have a case of superiority complex. It took you five paragraphs to get to your point in your initial post. You were too busy displaying your use of the English Language (which is great by the way), which was a sign that you were really trying to show off your skills than constructively criticize anyone.

You can come back with another response, and try to bamboozle me with your big grammar, but deep down you know what I have said above is the bitter truth. And please, I would love if you could (in your leisure time) 'try' and write a short story of about 2,000 words. You don't have to post it here, just attempt it, and when you are done, do a critique of it. Thank you.

Dan Brown doesnt write in beautiful lines.

James Patterson is out to entertain, not educate..

AMYEmber said science student are out to try their luck. Fine. But since art is now a restricted area, I have not seen any writer on nairaland that is proud to say he or she is an art guru.
Why?

I dnt want to start sha. Because you will never understand my arguement.

Then.... ENGLISH IS not ours. WHY ARE WE EVEN aspiring to be better than those white head idiots? You forgot to mention african authors like Ngugi Nwathiongo( spell check pls)

romance from Mills and boons?

Repeated stories?

What is happening in this world that has not been written of?

You guys have said almost everything there is about bibijay. Make e no be like say i too dae talk, but i remember back then when i was at cross roads in writing a story and the only person i turned to was bibi.

I was not disappointd as she left me with a single email that sparkd the creative juice in me. The result was a twist that I never even saw in the storyline...

She can be strict small sha.. grin I WAS THE Rough write, copy and paste kinda person... But aunty bibijay123 would insist on, 'Editing.. Edit , i still think u should EDIT... EDIT! EDIT O! ... Its almost there, but still edit it... Cut , cut it..

It almost drove me insane bt then it paid off in the end.

Thank you for being a big inspiration in my life. And in two months time i will to be at ur wedding reception. Congrats

Name: (full name) Esele Benjamin Mykel Ose

Then ive got like three other native names that sound like fighting and throwing punches when you pronounce them. grin Its
not a surprise since I have yoruba, igbo and edo blood running thru my veins.

About my nick Creeza.. Im a fan of Reekado and Cristiano ronaldo. Creedo would have been cool, but then it was not unique, sounds more like Frodo in LOTR.

Present State: Edo and Ive been going to and fro Benin-city and Igueben for the last two years. But I grew up in the east. Aba to be prescise where I learned the gangster life in a funny way. If you stay or lived around Osisioma LGA, you will probably understand . Trying not to be an agbero then required God's mercy and family prayers upon my life. Sometimes, I see myself logically supporting Biafra. Even while im dreaming (this is not my real face grin )

Single or Engaged: Yea Im not single. Im in a relationship outside Nairaland, although complicated, I hope it continues.

Literature Crush : my crushes..most of them are men, but Im straight, not gay. Ive always admired Margaret Mitchel and if she were still alive, she'd be my number one crush.

Moving on. Wole Soyinka's grammar in his books just made me love to hate him.
grin Im surprised the man never kolo.

Then, there is Denise Robins, James Patterson ( who I want to be like someday)

Just so you know, Im a Science student( and a big trouble maker in real life).
Btw this list wont be complete without the Nairaland writers that piqued my interest in writing.

Honour returned as recieved to Larrysun and My nairaland master of twist and turns, Bibijay123

thank you.

Kayo80

I read his first novellete. ' in a worl of three wowen' It was very neat and straightforward.
I enjoyed it.

Then as his style leads him, he has written a handful of short stories. And the one I loved most was his descriptive account of the owerri bank robbery. ' Done in 60 seconds'

His flaws, every one has theirs. THEN, HIS MAJOR flaw is really about pulling a loyal readers base. Most times when I read his writeups, i dont feel like im attached to the story, it might be me, just me or maybe He is very business-like as divepen1 has said.

I think I started seeing Kayo80 after one kay really lashed at Whitemosquito because of a competition she organised. That was the first of its kind in a long time. Everyone told that kay to write blablabla, then I saw a story we read it. It was good.

This present day Kay is a very serious, official take no nonsense person. He must be very neat and would be a person that loves his things to himself because someone posts betnaija etc on his thread, I would get a report..

More over, he's skeptical sha.. He is always trying to test his foot in the water before dipping his legs.. But I've read most of his works, they are good but unlike some Nairalanders he's yet to learn to pull crowd. Can we say he's the introvert all through...

Nice meeting you baba...
that one weak me.. LWKMD grin . Divepen nice thread ni.

Kimberlywest i loved your speech so much for a girl, oops 'lady' smiley .

I believe most writers are introverts. Almost all.
So officially I no go cast you as per , I neva read any of your story ( truth here) but Ive read Romeo and Julie.. grin

It's perfectly normal to be curious sha but you donno how it feels when a wonderful writer like you is curious about the work of a learner like me.
About her 'name', if you're a Tinkerbell fan like me, you'll know that pixie dust is a magic powder and according to myth, a pixie is a playful elf-like or fairy-like creature. That's why she feels like a fairytale character.
Thanks for reading and commenting Creeza, I really appreciate it
