El-Zakzaky's wife not in detention, merely keeping her husband's company — Presidency

By Isiaka Wakili | Publish Date: Jan 19 2017 4:30PMThe Presidency has said that the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, cannot be released from detention because of public interest and security concerns, adding that El-Zakzaky''s wife is not in detention but merely keeping her husband''s company "in the apartment in which he is kept".

The Presidency has said that the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, cannot be released from detention because of public interest and security concerns, adding that El-Zakzaky's wife is not in detention but merely keeping her husband's company "in the apartment in which he is kept".

A top Presidency official who did not want to be named, disclosed this to State House correspondents on Thursday.

According to him, the issue of the release of El-Zakzaky is not exclusively legal as it has security and public interest as against individual interest undertone.

On the said detention of El-Zakzaky's wife along side her husband, the official explained that the wife was not of any security interests and therefore was merely keeping her husband's company "in the apartment in which he is kept.

"She is not under detention. If it is her wish, that of her husband or of the IMAN, she will allowed to go home in a matter of hours," the official said.

He explained that El-Zakzaky's wife was picked up by the Department of Security Services (DSS) beside her husband with bullet wounds following IMAN's encounter with the army.

"They took her along with the husband, treated her wounds and allowed her to care for her husband. Upon his request on an occasion, the children joined them during Ramadan. That is what happened," the official said.

A lawyer who represented Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh in his attempt to overturn the results of last month presidential election at the Supreme Court has called on him to relinquish power in the interest of peace and love for Gambians.

Edward Anthony Gomez who fled the Gambia into neighbouring Senegal after mounting fear and rapidly increasing tension, said Mr Jammeh should accept that everything except God’s Kingdom, comes to an end and should not allow his legacy to be described as one where “pen of the sword dipped in innocent blood writes its history on the rough page of tyranny”.

Investment / Re: Prediction And Analysis On The Future Of MMM - Cramjones by crestedguy(m): 8:37pm On Dec 16, 2016
cramjones:
As always, I would comment on contemporary issues that affect the Nigerian populace. All for love of Nigeria. Even though I believe that Nigeria as it stands is close to a failed state, we can all do more through visionary leadership to emancipate our country from the cesspit that has gutted it. That said, I have followed closely the MMM phenomenon since it came to my attention, and as it is normal of my analytical mind, I have taken time to study the trend, review historical facts, and all other data available to me. After this review I have therefore, come to the following conclusions on the fate of MMM.

1. For those that are hoping MMM would suddenly resurface in January because the Nigerian planter's wife said so in a note, are definitely setting themselves up for depression. Nothing of such would happen. This is the deal, MMM is not an investment it is a gamble. The money is only redistributed therefore the system would crash when two conditions occur - something that has already taken place - and these conditions are as follows:

-When new comers or "help providers" exceeds those who want to receive "help" it sets the stage for a crash

-When those withdrawing exceeds a critical amount needed to keep it rolling regardless of the number of people joining, then the system would crash.

I believe these two conditions have been met. Christmas time is a time no one wants to give money, rather they want to be helped, with the overwhelming withdrawals that far exceeded the "help providers" the system had to be shut down, because money does not grow on trees.

2. If MMM ever have a blinker to open, which I doubt very much in January as stated in their later, there would be a state of panic withdrawals, and there would be sharp decline of the new people that would have otherwise joined. This panic withdrawals, would lead the MMM handlers to shut it down completely and take with them whatever is left of the system.

3. The other reason MMM had to shut down early December is more likely than not to ensure maximum "cash outs" by the handlers. At this time there is an all time high of money in the system because people put in most of what they had to ensure they get good cash for the Christmas, this high would not happen any other time of the year, so this was the best time for the handlers to cash out big, and I believe they already did.

Finally, the MMM phenomenon further shows the failed system of Nigeria. This system only flourishes in this magnitude in failed countries. It thrived in Russia during the collapse of the Soviet Union, failed Zimbabwe, thrived in failed parts of South Africa, like Soweto. People have lost hope in any decent labor or lack of jobs thereof. Other are greedy and sometimes plain dumb.

Good luck to everyone "waiting" in trepidation to get help. I wish you luck.

God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria

-CramJones

Lovely Lovely Lovely write up and very educating, the real point is in the final paragraph of the Write up,it only thrived in failed country, you said it all,a country that can't provide for the citizen,a country where the rich are getting richer and the poor otherwise, a country where the collective fund of a country will be used to finance arrangement of a president daughter marriage , and one old fool will rise up at tell us that no single of the FG money is spend of the marriage, as If WE GIVE A Bleep, the people are hungry 'they saw that as an avenue to make double money out of greed,am very very disappointed with the level of educated people involved in this ,i don't believe they be could be so daft to invest in phonzi schemes that you saw the warning on their website .well any wa I fa o wa o fo,
Over 18billion naira was interchange hand during this phozi scheme, our collective stupidity made us ,to make some few people quickly capitalized on our greed and foolishness in this country to be rich under a very short period of time , a well executed scheme that was tailored in Philippines.

My only fair now is, January will be a very bad year for some family who have invested a fortune to get rich quicker without working for it, the level at which federal government will be picking up mad people will be alarming, because a lot of people will grow bananas

God bless federal republic of Nigeria

DONSMITH123:
Leke Baiyewu, Abuja

The plan to conduct the screening of the Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today is causing confusion at the Senate.

The lawmakers are currently in a close-door executive session over the matter.

It was reliably learnt that the usual pre-session meeting of the principal officers, which holds at the Senate President’s office, was rowdy this morning as senators were said to have engaged themselves in a shouting match.

A source who witnessed the clash said the Leader of the Senate, Senator Ali Ndume and Senator Dino Melaye, who was alleged to be against Magu’s confirmation, specifically engaged themselves at the meeting.

Although the screening had been listed on the Order Paper as part of activities at the chamber today, it is uncertain if the exercise will hold due to the latest development.

Details later…

Family / Re: How To Be A Good Daughter-in-law by crestedguy(m): 6:53pm On Dec 11, 2016
nairalanddss:
Being a good daughter-in-law can be a challenging job, but it doesn’t need to be if you keep a few simple suggestions in mind.your husband was a son first!

As a new wife, it is difficult not to feel possessive and a little defensive. You want to be number one in your husband’s life, but you should remember not to put him in a position of having to defend his mother! no one wins that battle; it will only put pressure on every relationship. Will what you gain, by dividing your husband and his mother, be worth the many unnecessary heartaches for the family?

Granted, there are mother-in-laws that will do everything to prove you are not worthy of their son; you can only do so much to make a relationship with her happen. No matter what you do or hard you try to make things work, she constantly tries to demonstrate how unworthy you are. How do you deal a mother-in-law like that? Well, you could stoop to her level and try to make her look bad, but the truth is, your husband can probably see how his mother is treating you and doesn’t like it either. He may not stand up to her, for whatever reason, but he’s new to this too. Give him a break! Just keep your distance and try to keep the peace, but not at the cost of letting yourself be walked on. Don’t stoop to her level and don’t hesitate to speak up for yourself; you don’t need to set yourself up for abuse from anyone.

Don’t try to compete. He married you because he loves you. His relationship with you is different from the relationship with his mother. You’re his wife, not his mother. If she’s the queen of lasagne, give her the throne; she’s been cooking it for years and has perfected it. Create something new and perfect it. Or, better yet, find a great wine, light a candle and cook a little something up.

Do a good job taking care of her son. Part of the unnecessary strain on an in-law relationship is that your husband’s parents, particularly his mother, want to know that the wonderful care of their son that they have long provided will continue in your care. Let them see that you love him and that he has clean underwear and vegetables at least once a day. They’ll be happy and he’ll be more regular.
Keep them in the loop. Don’t cut his parents out. Take the initiative and call them with news and updates. Even though things might be a bit uncomfortable at first, remember that they are a big part of your life and making a little extra effort won’t hurt a bit (well, it won’t hurt too much).

abegi remove this nonsense wey no get meaning wey you post for here, they can't be please, mother inlaws behave as if they are possessive, it will even be worst for the lady if she married into a family where the man is the only son,and she end up bearing female kids, the lady is seating on a keg of bomb that is about to explode, nowadays most ladies prefer to marry a man that don't have mother because of the wahala of the mother inlaws, they are pain in the asssssss
