Oga you can’t hack blockchain. FBI only has juridiction on exchanges in US.
Lol. You are saying this based on what you know. If you live in the US, I can direct you to some institutes here. There are ways federal agencies use data mining to unravel all these blockchain stuff. It’s funny people like you think a platform created by a fellow human being like you can only be accessed by you alone grin grin grin

I’m just laughing because you are not in the system. The best thing is to stay away from criminal activities. So far you use the internet, you are not in anyway anonymous.

martineverest:
where are those dumbos that said FBI can't decrypt Bitcoin?...ubthink FBI is EFCC?
Don’t mind them. I created a thread about it some days ago and some people were arguing with me. You can use iPhones and Bitcoin to evade EFCC arrest but when it comes to the FBI, so far you use the internet outside of Russia and China, they will track down everything you do(or did). With data mining, FBI agents will use certain tools to unravel all the bitcoin addresses in Nigeria. They are all in the cloud and data mining will unravel every user - by matching it with their transaction IDs and email addresses. People are so naive to think something created by a fellow human being like them cannot be detected or will be known to only them grin cheesy cheesy

bitcoin cannot be hacked into normally, even if u are able to do it, u cant find the names n identity of its user
Lol. That’s what people like you think. Who created bitcoin? The FBI has the largest bitcoin wallet in the world. With data mining tools in the US, people can match bitcoin addresses with the identity of their owners using transaction IDs. So far you use the internet, you can be tracked down by American agencies - except if you live in Russia or China. Forget all these privacy talks - the FBI has a history of hacking into even iPhones.

Newboss:
There is no log in when you are using hardware wallet. The device is something that looks like a flash drive. Anytime you want to perform a transaction, you plug in the device to your USB port, launch the software, enter PIN and do your transaction.

While doing the transaction, you go offline. The software will "send" the coins to the address you want to send it to, while you are still offline (it signs the transaction). You must press a button on the device to complete the transaction. That means even if someone takes remote control of the computer, they cannot send anything because they must press a button on the device itself. The hardware device is also cheap (less than $60).

The way hardware wallets are designed, hacking is not much of an option. People that control huge funds use cold storage to get absolute privacy.

The fact that Woodberry was using only one Bitcoin address shows that he was using cold storage (probably paper) because it's not easy to keep track of multiple Bitcoin addresses.
https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/402004-how-we-tracked-woodberry-via-iphone-whatsapp-bitcoin-transactions-fbi.html

Have you read this news? The FBI already has access to some of their Bitcoin details. I told you. There are certain tools special agents use for operations like this in collaboration with other American tech companies. So far you use the internet to defraud Americans, they can definitely track you down. Forget blockchain whatever - the FBI/CIA have secret/super agents that run many of these things. When I showed that my guy doing his PhD on this stuff your comment, he just laughed and told me the FBI will already have access to all their Bitcoin addresses by now because they would have tracked the transfer of funds and transaction IDs to their wallets - using data mining systems.

The only people American agencies find it hard to track are Chinese and Russians - and that is because they don’t really rely on American internet for their own operations.

BornRicch:
It seems you've passion for this nonentity called Nigeria. Ok let get into details, you talk about why didn't Hush get a job despite living in a develop country...

1- Have you lived in Asia? Dubai and South East Asia countries are not Europe or America.
2- These people will hardly give you a well meaningful job, if you're lucky enough you will get a factory job. If you want to sweep or clean the street of Dubai be my guest.
3- These countries are very racist that you can't even rent an apartment with your names because they won't give their houses to a black man.
4- I'm talking out of experience dude, I'm not here to justify fraud in any way possible but Nigerians are quick to forget. We all can't be right, until the leaders changes from their evil and begins to acknowledge the less privilege, misplaced people, before all yahoo boys will be ready for change.

Yes, you're absolutely right about that. If you take some of the yahoo boys to America they will still engage themselves with fraudulent activities. A mentally derailed person don't get cure in a day or month, it takes time and you need a psychologist. Even in America people crave for Benz not only in Nigeria. You should ask yourself why blacks kill each others without remorse in America. If the government aren't doing a shit to change the cause of living things will never change.

Yes, many countries are worse than Nigeria but their governments are not as corrupt as nigeria govt. They still provide for their people regardless. Please what opportunities have they ruined dude, why do you travel out of the country in the first place if truly home is home? You know it and I know it that this country is dead, how about those that can't afford to travel like you? Nigerians in America & Europe are always crying like a baby online about yahoo boys. I rest my case. May God almighty help Nigeria because I'm not the Messiah.
Who told you that you can’t get good jobs in Dubai as an immigrant? My cousin works in Dubai as an IT analyst. The only thing there is that you cannot become a citizen. And you know what? My cousin worked as a cleaner for months in Dubai before getting a good job with one of their tech start ups. You think he cannot engage in fraud? Dude is an American trained computer engineer who only moved to Dubai because he couldn’t get Microsoft to file for his green card in the US. Why did Hush Puppi and his goons not hustle legitimately like my cousin or numerous other Nigerians who decided to stay clean? They have ruined the lives of those guys now. While typing this, my cousin’s friend informed us that he was sacked today from his place of work because Dubai companies are now worried about Nigerians and the ways we romance fraudulent activities. When fools and idiots go online to celebrate Hush Puppi and justify his atrocities, they send a message to the world that if they are given the opportunity- they will do the same. In other words, you create an impression that the average Nigerian will take criminal advantage of others or even the systems they find themselves which is wrong!

Americans desire BENZ but how many of them acquire it by defrauding innocent people?

There are countries that way more corrupt and underdeveloped than Nigeria. Go online and read about corruption index. I have friends from Zimbabwe, Niger, Chad, South Sudan, Venezuela, Cambodia and countries that are way more corrupt/underdeveloped than Nigeria but their citizens don’t have the criminal mindset many Nigerians have. I’ve been to over 85 countries and it’s only in Nigeria I’ve seen people justify taking advantage of the next person for financial gains.
Have you been to countries in South East Asia or the Horn of Africa? Some of their federal capitals are even worse than Jigawa state. Nigeria is way better than those countries but you can never see their citizens trying to justify defrauding innocent people.

Immigration is a normal thing in the 21st century. China is the second largest economy in the world. Yet, most of the international students in the US are Chinese. Every year, over 350,000 Chinese students study in American universities(Google it). It’s the same for most developed countries. People leave their homes in search of better opportunities. I do not plan to live abroad for too long - my job is to travel the world and create value for those who need my services. Nigeria is my home and heritage and some idiots should not rob me off my dignity because they want to ride Benz or pepper some imaginary haters.

I have American teachers on one of my company’s payroll abroad. Nigerians migrating abroad is not a big deal - even if the country is an El-dorado, people will still prefer to hustle abroad. Do you know how many Europeans and Asians migrate to North America every year? And vice versa?

There is no justification for fraud.

our govt badluck has always been going around with us everywhere around the world. blame it on our crazy, stupid ass motherfucking leaders ruling this messed up corntree
Stop using anything to justify fraud. Nigeria is not the only country with bad or corrupt politicians. I know Nigerian politicians are heartless and useless but why did hush puppi not hustle legitimately despite being in a developed country? I have friends in Dubai who worked as cleaners before getting good jobs there. The issue here is greed and impatience. There are dozens of countries that are worse than Nigeria in every ramification but their citizens are not reputed for this nonsense image Nigerians now have all over the world. These guys have ruined so many opportunities for millions of Nigerians all across the world. People know that politicians in most parts of the world are scums - so if your country has corrupt politicians - people won't really use that to judge you unlike when your citizens have a history of notorious crimes. There are times abroad when I introduced myself as a Nigerian and the foreigners there all agreed that Nigerians are fraudsters based on the activities of these stupid yahoo boys. They think we are all dishonest people due to this whole nonsense yahoo boys that will all die a miserable death.
The problem is not bad governance but greed and impatience. Hush Puppi found his way to Dubai - where he has access to good jobs and stuff. He chose not to work but engage in fraud. And he ended up spending his loot on luxury lifestyle. If you take all these Naija yahoo boys to the USA(where there is good governance) and give good jobs - they will still look for means to scam people. Because they want to drive Benz. Live lavishly forgetting that life is a process and things take time. Most of these people are not looking for how to meet their basic needs. They are all in a hurry to live in luxury - neglecting the fact that people in developed countries largely live an average lifestyle. When Americans deride Nigerians with terms like ”Nigerian Prince” or ”419”, do they refer to Nigerian politicians or ordinary Nigerians who engage in cybercrime? This shows you who really brings us shame. Nonsense!

Exactly. We need to stop this mindset of making money at all cost - which usually translates to taking criminal advantage of the next person or the system itself.

Why Nigerians are easily caught in cyber crimes is because they just deploy tools and hacking skills developed by the whites without developing their own.

Compared Nigeria to Russian, Indians, Isrealies, Core Europeans, South Americans and even The real Americans. The you know that Nigerians are simply learning the trade.
The problem is the idiots who justify cybercrime. Have you ever seen Americans or Europeans justify any internet fraud committed by their own people? They condemn and repudiate it totally. It is time to blame politicians once again. Even Shekau, kidnappers and bandits also blame "looters" for their attrocities.
The only blame the government deserve is not sending fraudsters to the gallow.

You and your type will never take responsibility.
It is either the "enemy", the neighbor, government, or village people.
You are never responsible for your own choice.

Many of these idiots blame the country's system but when they get to the USA, Canada or Dubai
they still cling to criminal means of livelihood.
Are the looters in the US also responsible for internet fraud perpetrated by Nigerians living over there?

The foolish puppy even blame the government for his actions after supposedly escaping the shithole

Bro, God will bless you for this comment sir. Many Nigerians try to justify fraud too often. I’ve met people from Niger, Chad, Gambia,South Sudan and countries that are way worse than Nigeria in every aspect but these people will never think about cybercrime no matter the circumstances. But the average Nigerian is desperate to buy Benz, live lavishly and turn around to blame the government after he is caught for committing fraud. How many Americans or Europeans live lavish lifestyles? Until we start having a national conversation on instilling honesty and integrity in our people - blaming corrupt politicians won’t solve this problem.

I’ve seen many Nigerians with green card in the US who instead of working to earn a living chose to engage in credit card fraud. Is it political corruption that made them to do that? It’s sheer greed, desperation and impatience. People only try to use that as an excuse. The underlying problem is greed, criminal mindset and impatience.

Lol the op is here to overhype the FBI because it's USA.
This is my field and I’m talking based on what I know. 6 Nigerians are currently wanted for similar BEC crime. Go and read their reports and see the pattern.

We too dey hype fbi. Abegi. They were caught unawares.not like they got them. Social media flambouyant lifestyle with no physical office sold them out quick.
Was Invictus Obi flamboyant on social media before he was caught? With or without social media, those guys would still have been tracked. Most of the people who are nabbed for BEC crimes are low key people. Go on Twitter and see how many people are nabbed every month by the FBI. Many of them don’t even own social media accounts. BEC crimes are top priority for federal agencies. Six other Nigerian nationals are currently wanted for the same BEC crimes Hush and co committed and none of them even flaunts anything on social media.

Baba, hacking is not magical. It's not. Some voodoo technique.

First, you must identify the person behind the address, which is almost impossible if the person is cyber security conscious.

Second, you have to acquire the target network. That is, the computer network of the entity whom you have identified to be behind the address. Computer network here doesn't mean mobile network like MTN and co. You must infiltrate their computer network.

Third, your listening tools (spywares, rootkits, worms, etc) must remain undetected in the network.

Fourth, you have to wait for the person to use that network to perform a transaction using that particular address you wish to acquire the private key. A person in custody will not perform a transaction. Anyone who does that is not security conscious. Never spend directly from the fat address. The best move is to send the funds to a new address and spend from there.

Also, security conscious people don't use Bitcoin wallet companies (Blockchain, Coinbase, BitPay, etc) because these companies get to see the private keys of their clients. Instead, they use hardware wallet or paper wallet (cold storage). Hardware wallet allows you to complete a transaction offline within the software that comes with the hardware wallet, before finally registering the transaction on the Blockchain. This means that even a spyware cannot see your private keys because everything about the transaction happens inside the software. You don't type any private key except you want to import coins into your hardware wallet.
I understand what you are trying to say but you are still not getting my point. Do you know how data mining works at law enforcement levels? The FBI already have many of their gadgets in custody with them. Even with just a transaction ID, they can mine as many data as possible using certain tools. All they need is just the email address linked to that wallet or even a transaction ID/history, and they will match it with the data they are mining.

If someone have access to your phone or any of your electronic gadgets now, there are tools they can use to mine your data from 2010 to this day - including all your passwords and deleted files. So far Hush Puppi has gone online to log in to that bitcoin address before, forget it, they can use data mining tools to get his password. I have a friend whose PhD thesis is on this. Give this fellow the phone that you use online for transactions. There are tools this fellow can use to mine out your bitcoin passwords and emails even though your gadget is switched off.

People use data mining and machine learning tools to crack scenarios like this.

I'm not talking about tracking or tracing. I'm talk about FBI hacking a Bitcoin address (getting the private keys of the address), as you said.

The term wallet is a layman abstraction. It's not part of Blockchain technology protocol. What we have is address. A collection of addresses is what is known as wallet. There's no relationship between two addresses on the Blockchain. The Bitcoin wallet companies provide a platform for you to receive, store, and spend coins.

An address is made up of a private key and a public key. If anyone gets to find out the private key of a Bitcoin address, they have 100% control over what ever fund that address holds. The public key is what we know as Bitcoin address, you can't move nothing with that. It only gives you read only access to transactions.
And they can easily access private keys via advanced data mining. That’s my point. So far you have ever typed in your private keys while accessing your wallet(or address if you prefer that) online, your data can be mined using certain exclusive and advanced tools. They can also use network sniffing technology depending on circumstances. There are several ways the FBI can hack into any Bitcoin address or wallet. Many of these techniques are highly classified. They will just announce that they have accessed certain Bitcoin addresses but they won’t really tell you how.

You know nothing about Bitcoin, talk less of Blockchain technology. First, there is nothing like Bitcoin wallet. What we have is Bitcoin addresses. There's no relationship between two Bitcoin addresses on the Bitcoin Blockchain. No one can accurately tell that two Bitcoin address belong to the same person unless the person let's them know.

Did you even bother to find out how they seized the silk road funds? It wasn't a hack.

Move your coins offline, and your coins are safe. If no one knows your Bitcoin address private key, no one can "move" your funds.
Lol. You are saying this as an outsider who does not know how blockchain encryptions are created. There are ways to track these things using IDs, IP addresses, phone data and so many other means. There are simple data mining techniques and tools that will unravel all these things. And you said there is nothing like Bitcoin wallet? Google is your friend. Also try to read about data mining in blockchain technology.

While we acknowledge the impact of bad leadership, the major issue here is greed and impatience. Nigeria is not the only country with bad governance - there are people from Zimbabwe, Burundi, Sudan, Venezuela and countries that are way worse than Nigeria but they still are not reputed for notoriety in cybercrime.

If it’s all about governance, why do people like Invictus Obi and Hush Puppi still engage in cybercrime even after finding their ways to developed countries where there are decent job opportunities? There are many Naija people living in the US who had jobs that paid over $40/hour but still ended up engaging in fraud. Why? The answer is greed and impatience. The urge to drive the latest luxury cars, wear the latest expensive clothes and gadgets ignoring the fact that life is a process. Most citizens of these so-called developed countries can’t afford to live such opulent life. We need to halt this desperate love for money from any means. If you think you are smart in tech, use your knowledge to invent softwares and platforms. Don’t use it to bring shame and disrepute to your fellow countrymen and women. Don’t rob innocent Nigerians off their dignity in foreign lands. You people are the Nigerians the average foreigner knows, if you mess up with them, you’ve messed up every Nigerian out there up.
We know the country needs better leaders but engaging in cybercrime is only making things worse. Please, let’s stop this now. Wear what you can afford. Eat what you have. Live within your means. And to every Nigerian out there - stop glorifying or justifying cybercrime or fraud. It has devastating consequences on innocent Nigerians who are honest in their ways. Imagine introducing yourself as a Nigerian in a gathering of people from over 100 countries and the first impression they all have about you is “cybercrime and scam” because of the activities of yahoo boys and the likes. Please, let’s stop this trend. Let’s rebuild our society and anchor it on the values of honesty, hard work, integrity and service.

The best thing is to stay away from crime. There is nothing we do online that is untraceable - even if you use VPN. You cannot use American technology to defraud Americans and you think the FBI won’t nab you. The reality is: most cyber criminals are already under the surveillance of the FBI - they already have a history of the crimes committed in their database. They are just waiting to build enough evidence - this may take up to two years but once they come for you - there is no way you are getting off the hook.

FBI Says It's Seized $28.5 Million In Bitcoins From Ross Ulbricht, Alleged Owner Of Silk Road[b]

CrimeThe FBI can actually hack into Hush Puppi’s or anyone else’s Bitcoin Wallets by Crispels(op):
There was a thread here yesterday about Woodbery stashing away his fraudulent funds in BTC wallets and some people were already making spurious claims that the FBI can never retrieve the funds back. If you know how American federal agencies conduct investigations into cybercrime, you will know that they don’t even need to torture them(Hush Puppi and co) before they can crack into all their wallets. The FBI has done this several times - cracking into the bitcoin wallets of more notorious hackers across the world(links attached below). Blockchain or cryptocurrency can never be used as a bulwark against FBI investigators. The only ways the FBI may find it more difficult to retrieve stolen funds is if you are based in China or Russia and you make use of some government-censored platforms. Do you even know how blockchain came into use? The same FBI agents that usually hack into iPhones that even Apple claims it cannot unlock as the producer? Most people don’t even know that the FBI owns the world’s biggest bitcoin wallet. What do you think they are doing with it? Or you think they are using it to buy bread and akara online? It will be foolhardy for anyone to think they can use American technology to defraud innocent Americans off millions of dollars and they will go scot-free.

Let Hush Puppi and his gang own different 1 trillion bitcoin wallets or addresses, the FBI will crack into each and everyone of them like a hot knife going through butter. They only need a single detail linked to Hush Puppi or whatever and they will access everything from the day they could only afford to purchase bottled water on Jumia. These are some of the things people study in Cybersecurity.
