Buki, who has been married to Francis for three years, told the court that her husband had disappeared to an unknown destination, since October, 2016. A 32-year-old woman, Mrs. Jessica Buki, on Thursday asked an Upper Area Court in Mararaba, Nasarawa State, to dissolve her marriage with Mr Francis Justin, on grounds of sex starvation and abandonment. Buki, who has been married to Francis for three years, told the court that her husband had disappeared to an unknown destination, since October, 2016. She accused her husband of denying her sex despite her advances. “Instead of granting my request, he will rather rebuke me,” she said. She claimed that she was not getting the natural satisfaction required of a legal marriage, adding that her husband had continued to avoid her since she married him. “He has failed to perform his duties as a man and has absconded. I was married to Justin since December 2013, in accordance with the law and customs of my people. “I want this court to dissolve this marriage because he has showed that he does not want to have anything to do with me. “I am 32 years old and can no longer wait for him nor stay without a man, so I demand that I get separated officially,” she said. Buki begged the court to grant her request, saying that she had made efforts to find him and make things work, to no avail. The respondent was not in court even though he was served hearing notice. The judge, Mr Ibrahim Shekarau, adjourned the case till Feb. 13, to give the couple more time to settle out of court. http://www.godwingist.com/2017/02/sex-starved-wife-seeks-divorce-over.html#more

The Magistrate, Mrs K.A. Ariyo, sentenced the accused after the prosecutor had reviewed the facts of the case. An Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on Thursday sentenced a driver, Tochukwu Uzoamaka, to four months imprisonment for stealing the battery of a BRT bus. Uzoamaka, 27, who was arraigned on Jan. 24, had pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing. The Magistrate, Mrs K.A. Ariyo, sentenced the accused after the prosecutor had reviewed the facts of the case. Ariyo sentenced the convict to two months imprisonment on each of the counts and held that they should run concurrently. The Prosecutor, Cpl. Hafsat Ajibode, had told the court that the accused conspired with some others still at large on Jan 21, at about 2.00 a.m., to commit the offence. He said that the accused stole the battery of the BRT bus from where the vehicle was parked at Iponri Bus Stop, Lagos, but was apprehended by the security guard on duty. The offences contravened Sections 404 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state, 2011. http://www.godwingist.com/2017/02/driver-gets-4-months-sentence-for.html#more

The 'Samankwe' singer shows remorse for his actions, insulting Kcee, and abandoning the Fivestar family. Harrysong has publicly apologized to Kcee, E-Money and the entire Fivestar Music crew. "I wanna say I'm sorry to Kcee, sorry to Fivestar, for those words said in anger, I miss my family, you don't expect me to be fighting with my family for ever" Mr Songz says. The singer was reportedly re-arrested by the Fivestar Music group over allegations of fraud, forgery and impersonation. This followed his initial arrest on January 27, 2017 by the label over claims of contract breach, of which the 'Reggae blues' was later released following the case being adjudged a civil one and not criminal. http://www.godwingist.com/2017/02/singer-publicly-apologizes-to-kcee.html#more

The federal government plans to raise the value-added tax (VAT) on luxury times — subject to the approval of the national assembly. Briefing the media after the federal executive council meeting on Wednesday, finance minister Kemi Adeosun said the cabinet, presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, has approved the revised national tax policy to address low taxation in the country. Nigerians currently pay 5% VAT, one of the lowest in the world, introduced in 1994 by the military government. According to Adeosun, “What the (review) committee report has shown is that we should look at actually increasing VAT on some luxury items. At 5% we have lowest VAT. “And while we don’t think VAT should be increased on basic items, if you are going to drink champagne, for instance… in the UK you drink champagne the VAT is 20%, so why should it be 5% in Nigeria. “So they have made recommendations that we should pull out some luxury items and increase VAT on those items immediately. And I think that is a very valid and sensible suggestion which we are going to take to the national assembly to see how we can implement it. “But as far as basic goods are concerned, no there will be no tax increase. I believe it is only fair that when you consume luxury goods you should pay a little bit more. The National Assembly will decide the percentage.” The UK case is slightly different from Nigeria – its 20% VAT is imposed on all the affected goods and services and is completely different from luxury tax. The new national tax policy, a revised version of the 2012 edition, will capture all existing taxes. The new policy, as proposed by the ministry of finance, seeks to entrench an efficient tax system and address the low tax-to-GDP ratio, which at 6% is one of the lowest in the world. In November 2014, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, then finance minister, announced that private jets, yachts, champagne and a host of other the luxury goods would be specially taxed. let me give a brief of the people i call the ugly ones. they are those lecturers who have vowed to make school difficult for you,you attend lectures ,write their quiz and do their assignment but yet they want to frustrate your efforts. i call them ugly because they make things in school ugly for you, they turn your good dreams to your worst nightmares, some of them demand for things that even the devil will frown at.if you have ever had any experience with them just share for others to learn.cheers |
