barcanista: 1. Non-existent person cant be registered, however, there can be case of multiple registration by people loyal to a political party or candidates and with full coorperation of inec officials. The cooperation could be got through threat, financial/material gratification or both. During election, all the illegal "voters" will thumbprint for a particular candidate in block. This is usually done in residence, government houses, party offices etc.
2. Election rigging is not "imagined", it is real.
3. They may create imagined figure or allocate figures. How is this done? After collation of result at polling units, it is statutory for the presiding officer to count and announce result of that unit. Rigging can be done by falsifying figures either at the PU or at the Collation center in the LG/Ward/State Constituency/Federal Constituency or Senatorial District depending on which is applicable by the collation or returning officer.
4. Snatching of ballot box too is another form of election rigging. The intent is to steal the boxes in opposition stronghold during casting of votes, they inturn will submit an already stuffed ballot box(which they have pre-thubprinted) to their friends or collaborators who are the inec collation or returning officers. The returning officers will then announce the illegal votes as valid. Most times, they "bribe" election observers and security agents so as not to have them(observers) include it in their report in order to frustrate any appeal of opponent.
5. A rigging similar to the above is "ballot box" exchange. In this one, the PU officers counts and announce votes at the polling units, on transporting the ballot boxes to the center for collation and announcement, the transporters change ballot boxes, replace the legitimate box(s) with the illegitimate box(s) and submit same to Inec office while destroying the legitimate box(s). This usually involve inec officials, corrupt politicians, police/army and election observers. In some cases, Agents of political parties are involve.
6. Another form of rigging is scientific rigging. In this form of rigging, the electoral officers already have preinstalled software on their system. It redirects votes casted for a candidate(party) to another candidate(party). This is a smart fraud that is obtainable in advanced countries and it is common with electronic voting.
7. One form (which is no more obtainable) is a situation where the Returning officer unanimously announce result and declare a particular candidate as the winner without recourse to votes casted. This was what Maurice Iwu did in 2007 that returned Yar Adua.
Other forms of illegitimate voting are: underage voting, financial gratification to voters to manipulate their votes to your favor aka stomach infrastructure etc.
I hope I try small....wheeeew Good!...I suspect this is how Jonathan will try to rig election again, saw it last election when soldiers snatched ballot box all from the balcony of my house...a friend of mine whose parents are politician told me there were people thumb printing in his house and another remote town's vote didn't even make it to the counting post when the vote was announced, their votes was replaced by another! This year, I've got a 32K camera with image resolution outstanding...I'll upload every sh*t in this election, Nigeria must be fair to all! |

You can only fool the young ones here, but you certainly can't fool those of us who were there and experienced the brutality of Buhari's regime live as it happened. This article is dead on arrival. Were you brutally handled?...did you spend your christmas eve in jail for waving a policeman?...did your salary become epileptic?...did you eat pomo for #200? Bayswater: That's Fashola playing to the gallery again saying rubbish under the pretence of not being an economist. He has economic advisers, he could have sought their advise before displaying his hypocrisy. That a barrel of oil is now $65 does not mean the cost of producing it or bringing it to the pump will change. Pump price has not been reduced in the UK, usa and across Europe. His attempt at using a bushmeat seller's logic has failed woefully.
Even if we refine the crude oil here, the cost if producing a barrel of oil would still be more than $65 per barrel. Even the average cost of producing the shale which people consider cheaper, is above $70 per barrel. As long as we don't refine crude here, it would take months for us to see reduction in pump prices.
Our greedy oil marketers too will not allow us feel the positive impact even when they start getting oil at reduced prices, they would want to maximise their profit. Dude with all this you long thing, you didn't tell us why the price shouldn't be less...cos for me,if the price of your chief input in production falls considerably, the price of the commodity should too regardless of the marketing and other costs! |
Politics › Re: Gov Fashola Ignorantly Seeks A Cut In Petrol Pump Price by Crocz(m): 9:36am On Dec 07, 2014 |
revolt: once more lemme ppl again!! It doesn't affect the price cos were importing and not producing bulk of it. Only way we can start producing is deregulation n total govt handsoff the sector. Capitalism is our christ for now.
Subsidy must go or our children will still be facing same issue 60yrs from now. Exactly why the price should be less by logic, well maybe the devaluation of Naira somehow affect the price. But depending on if we are buying refined product or trading with crude, if later the price should be that globally |

This op self Do not forget easily that Stephen Davis is not a northerner or a Nigerian, he swept in for the sake of the children who were kidnapped in Chibok, he placed his life on the line trying to mediate for the release of the innocent kids, he stayed for months with the terrorists and came out alive. You mean Stephen Davis, the hired Australian hostage negotiator? "They have refused to see a black sheep for what it is because everyone hates Jonathan, a minority President who came from nowhere to rule more than 180m Nigerians" Oh you refuse to see a black sheep for what it is which is Jona is failing! Everyone hates Jonathan cos he looks like he has no idea what to do again! Minority president who came from nowhere?...seriously?...that's your justification for his failings? You actually sound like a Jonathanian! |

Iroh88: I swear by God I said something like this over two months ago!!
When I first read about the release of the detained plane and the confiscated cash and how it coincided with the time some bodies were said to have been released, I said it here that could it be "the FG must have leveraged on the bodies of the victims of the Synagogue incidence to cut a deal with the SA govt??"
Some people called me nasty names and all that, that I had no respect for the dead. Very emotional set of folks that never seem to analyse issues based on facts on ground. Not just look at this. If I was Jonathan, I'd do the same....you want your bodies?then give us the arms...simple business of trade by barter The "commodities" in exchange doesn't matter, it's just bodies...their souls are in heaven, well I guess |

He absolutely right....Nigerians are just insensitive to situations like this, we should be buying petrol less now
But the government can't afford to do that cos the revenue will go down low even more...so when people protest it, they'll just say they are implementing full subsidy removal and in the end, it won't matter |

One day in the very near future, there will come a man strong willed, determined, inspiring, visionary and fearless who will unite africa into one giant entity capable of influencing world power, one who will never feel neglected or set aside like never matters, one whose might will make others tremble in fear and respect, a Nation far greater than the Roman Empire
And that day, we shall have the "Sovereign States of Africa" |
