Went for a friend's introduction in Ajuwon area of Ogun state very close to lagos, the silly policemen arrested us just because we were in a private car.. The forcefully took our phones and had it thoroughly checked. When they couldn't find anything on the phones and a former commissioner of police was mentioned they handed over our phones but not without parting away with logistics money. The very next time i went to the same area the police were soo drunk they were reeking from a mile away. They double crossed us with a public vehicle (danfo) and ordered us to come down. I even thought they were robbers. They came down and searched the car like they were looking for a pin in a haystack. They called i and my friends criminals for no just cause without even finding anything incriminating. They hauled us to the station and we were thrown into an investigation room. They took our id's wrote our names down and harassed us.. Looking around all i saw were crates of freshly opened lager beer scattered all around the station. They were infruiated when they found out I studied law.. They were so drunk they cocked thier guns at will and harrassed all the citizens they found on the road. We knew it was a delicate matter as Nigerian police are known to be trigger happy normally even making the liquor reduce our chance pf survival. They cursed us at will but all we had to do was look for a way to leave that Forsaken station. We were made to part with several thousands of naira for nothing in our own motherland. That very day i lost hope in the police force. |

Biko they are not asking you to remove the gates. What the government is asking is for us not to infringing on the rights of otgers while safeguarding ours. We can keep our gates at least they are the first borders of our fortress. They are only asking for people to be allowed to pass through the gates freely till 12 midnight. You can station a whole barrack to man your gate but let there be free flow of traffic. However i feel the government should consider the issues these actions may pose and work accordingly i.e 1) This pose a security threat owing that the real owners can freely survey all under the guise pf passing through. This can be countered by arming landlords or security officials. Fortify your estates with more uniformed guards that wont just stay at the gate but patrol. No stopping, keep the motorists moving. If any car stops, the owner must tow within 30 mins or the estate tows and the owner pays. 2) Road rehabilitation. Any road that isn't government maintained should be allowed to collect a toll of N100 to use. Even the government collects money to enable us pass through lekki that was must have been built with tax payers money. Criticism is welcome. Just my 2cents. |

chukwudi44: New Niger Delta Militant Group Dares Buhari, Vows To Cripple Nigeria's Economy
The Niger Delta Avengers, a new militant group in the oil-rich Niger Delta region, has threatened to make the country's economy worse by acts of sabotage, particularly in the oil sector. The threat, made via a statement issued by the group, is a response to comments made by President Muhammadu Buhari during his visit to China.
by SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORK
Apr 18, 2016
The Niger Delta Avengers, a new militant group in the oil-rich Niger Delta region, has threatened to make the country's economy worse by acts of sabotage, particularly in the oil sector. The threat, made via a statement issued by the group, is a response to comments made by President Muhammadu Buhari during his visit to China. While in China, Buhari had said that oil saboteurs will be treated harshly like Boko Haram terrorists, a comment the group considers a denigration of the Niger Delta struggle and an indication that the Federal Government considers oil more important than the lives of people of the Niger Delta region.
"The recent proclamation of the Federal Government to bombard the people of the Niger Delta, as stated in Beijing, China, is a clear indicator that President Buhari and his Northern brothers-led government scales the oil in the Niger Delta far more important than the lives of the Niger Deltans," the group said.
As proof of the Niger Delta Avengers potency, the group cited the visit of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State to the Forcados Terminal, where they inspected the SPDC 48 inches export pipeline, which it claimed to have blown up. "They never cared to see for themselves what the natives (Ogulagha people), the host community, are going through in the hands of SPDC as a result of the oil and gas exploration for decades. Ogulagha community is just one such case across the Niger Delta," the statement added.
The militant organisation explained that the decision of the government to send the Minister of the Environment and the Vice President on a visit to the Forcados Terminal after it was blown up shows the importance of the facility to the economic well-being of the country.
"Bonny Export Terminal, Bonny Island in Rivers State, Chevron and Ugborodo community in Delta State are the heartbeat of Nigeria's economy, but they are all facing same hardship as the Ogulagha community, which hosts the Forcados Terminal.
"It is a slight on our struggle and quite embarrassing for Mr. President to liken us to his kinsmen (Boko Haram), who are hell-bent on swimming in innocent blood until they Islamize the nation," added the Niger Delta Avengers.
The organisation also accused the President of deliberately ignoring the menacing activities of Fulani herdsmen, but paying attention to pipeline vandalism, which he wants to use as a pretext to punish the Niger Delta Region. This, it argued, provides further proof that the Federal Government values oil more than the well-being of the people of the Niger Delta. While claiming it takes no pleasure in violence, the group, however, said it will continue blowing up pipelines to protest the marginalisation of the Niger Delta.
It dared the Presidency to do its worst, saying: "The Presidency can go ahead and setup a permanent security force, as stated by the Vice President when he visited the SPDC, Forcados Terminal. We are not deterred by such threats as we are highly spirited and shall continue blowing up pipelines until the Niger Delta people are no longer marginalized by the Nigerian actors. Yes, the military have sworn to lay down their lives to protect Nigeria. We have on our part sworn to do whatever is necessary to safeguard the interest of the Niger Delta people." The group also invited the attention of the Federal Government and the international community to the plight of the Niger Delta people and alleged that other forms of pipeline vandalism are encouraged and by officials of the Nigerian armed forces.
"We want the general public to note that the Nigerian Armed Forces collects three Naira per litre of the sum accruing from the total number of barrels loaded by any vessel in all illegal bunkering activities referred to as 'black oil business,' it claimed. It followed this up with a piece of advice to the Chinese government and the international community that any country that lends Nigeria money is doing so at its own risk. "There will be no litre of crude oil to service the loan deal they planning to do. This also goes to the international oil companies in the country to adhere to our warnings and advise the Federal Government to heed our demands, especially the development of the Niger Delta Region," the group concluded.
http://saharareporters.com/2016/04/18/new-niger-delta-militant-group-dares-buhari-vows-cripple-nigerias-economy Brothers they are better ways to potray your grievances than threatening the federal government. You have to understand that with the present administration, threats and violence doesn't do the work. If you don't want your beds to lie empty, your mothers to cry over you and turn your kids to orphans desist from acts of sabotage. The military isn't playing. Even the civilians aren't very accommodative of unwarranted hostility. Think things over good people of Nigeria. May it be well with us all. |

AmbodOfLASU: THE FRAUD IN SLOT LIMITED
My name is Pelumi,a student from the prestigious Lagos State University,Ojo. On the 6th of April,2016, I proceeded to Slot Limited,Alaba,to get a charger for my phone; INFINIX Hot Note Pro. I was told by a lady that the charger goes for 2,500naira. After testing it for some seconds, I was assured it was original and its going to serve me for a long time. I brought out my ATM and paid via the company's P.O.S. I returned back to school and continued my preparation for exams. On getting to my hostel, off campus, I couldn't test the full capability of the charger, as there was no light. On the next day at school, I plugged the "new charger" and I realized the phone was not charging as fast as I had expected. I ignored this and felt maybe it was the electricity current that was below par. Subsequently, I realised my phone was charging backwards. Trying to get off the reality that I may have procured a fake charger from a leading mobile outlet, I switched it off to allow it charge. This proved to be a fantasy, as the battery level refused to increase. I left the phone there for several hours and the story remained the same. I was advised by my friends to go back to SLOT and lodge my complaints. One of my school mates, who was a tech expert, said the charger was FAKE; that infinix don't manufacture their charger this way. After hours of hoping for a miracle, I proceeded to SLOT LIMITED outlet at Alaba International, metres away from LASU, where I procured the CHARGER from. I laid a complaint which was welcomed with hostility. I was directed from the cashier to a lady, whom I poured my heart to. The lady called the Infinix representative there and she confirmed that the CHARGER was FAKE, that INFINIX don't expose screws on their original Hot Note chargers. Instead of these slot representatives to calm things down and address me properly as a regular SLOT customer, they lost their cool and started shouting "no warranty on accessories". This offended my sensibilities as the point here is not about warranty but the fact that you sold a fake product to me at the price of an original and you showed no compassion. The lady who I was complaining to,suddenly walked out on me. Feeling angry and sad, I left the spot I was and I met with another slot staff whom i explained myself to. She showed some compassion on realizing I was a LASU student but other staffs instigated her and insisted I should not be attended to. Even the INFINIX representative that confirmed the charger to be FAKE,was asked not to interfere again. I surely had committed no crime. I felt cheated. Consequently, I realised it was some sort of gang up or conspiracy as some of the slot staffs appeared to have a skeleton in their cupboards. It was while I was contemplating on what to do: inform our ever gallant SUG President of the fraud or go to SLOT head office, that a fellow LASU student came in and told me to leave them. He said some SLOT STAFFS do buy fake products from outside and bring it to SLOT to sell as original. He also said so many people has fallen victim of such fraud. As it stands now, have apparently lost or wasted a chunk of my monthly allowance in the midst of this economic hardship. Yes, it may just be #2,500 but a fraud is a fraud and I will try all I can to ensure justice and fairness. I urge SLOT Authorities,as a matter of urgency,to look into this cankerworm, investigate it and bring in better credibility/authenticity to their folds. To the phone lovers out there, be careful of what you buy. The fact that you are procuring it from a leading store, doesn't necessarily mean you can't be swindled. Ensure you collect stamped receipts and other pertinent documents for you may need it later. Shalom.
Pelumi writes from Lagos State University. 08160156636 this is corporate fraud my brother. In some countries youd be smiling to the bank right now after a verdict against them. Thievery |

Education › Re: 7 Reasons Why Nigerian Youths Do Not Go To Church - EDUREGARD by CrownV12(m): 11:18am On Apr 03, 2016 |
EduRegard: Fear driven presentations and demonstrations often force youths to go to church while under the shields of some dominating forces, mostly parental. But not every young person will set going to church as a priority once he or she starts riding solo and under no real supervision.
We’ve heard some pretty strange statistics about church goers, most of which are female adults and least of which are the young and vibrant youths who are expected to keep close to God when they are still young and active.
All said, let’s see some 7 Reasons Why Nigerian Youths Do Not Go To Church.
1. They Believe Church Is Boring – Since it's nothing like a party where ‘Lil Kesh’ would keep screaming a sinful phrase into their hearings, they don’t like it. They don’t fancy those left and right shifting dance steps vis-à-vis clapping in two’s at intervals. But let it be known that churches were never meant for entertainments. Maybe now that churches are singing ‘Godwin’, they might consider that.
2. They Believe The Church Is A Waste Of Time – The thing is, every one knows the message, “Jesus brings salvation”, “Jesus Is coming soon” etc. So why bother going to church to hear some repetitions of old sayings? This is also one of the reason why youths stay back from church, to them, they know the message the church is relaying.
3. They Don't Have Clothes – The church was never meant to be fashion runway. They just do not understand this. They are always hell-bent on looking fly to church, to impress who? Maybe that Lady smiling at the microphone as she leads the choir sing. So, as long as there is no new designer dress, no church.
4. They Believe The Church Wants Their Money – A couple of Naira that will go a long way in sorting Bread and Beans at that local restaurant is too big for them to drop for God. They believe they will save some cash by staying back home instead of going to church. Even though there are truly some churches that talk more about offering and tithe than the kingdom of God, it is well.
5. They Believe Life Is Better Without Religion – This is an assertion but with that perspective, they tend to neglect church since its the “pillar” of religion. Going by the norms and commandments of the church by being a Christian are hectic for others. Some of them don’t care much about religion but a better relationship with God.
6. They Believe They Don't Have Time – They believe some hours they will spend in church is better spent on cramming some aspects of that 201 course. Or probably spent tweeting and gathering twitter followers, or better still, to wash clothes, which is what they mostly do.
7. They Believe Worldly Engagements Are Sweeter – As long as there is power supply in the hood, larger percentage of the youths will shun church, you will hear sayings like “Devil already won today’s battle, but the war isn’t over yet”. Especially if the Super Eagles have a Match on that day, the church will be unconsciously scanty.
These and more others are the reasons why Nigerian Youths Hardly Go To Church. Feel free to add yours…
SOURCE : http://eduregard.com/7-reasons-why-students-dont-go-to-church/ I strongly believe your assertions to be false. I believe one of the reasons is that most of these churches are just in a state of hypocrisy our elder statesmen turn a blind eye to. Yes! You go to church and sometimes you can't determine if u came to worship or you came for a fundraiser. Where pastors tell you "the lord needs someone to donate five thousand naira to bless the person more than everyother person in the church". He will collect five thousand from about 20 people and move the heist to 10,000. Are blessings on auction??. Also, the tenets in some churches are so outdated that the youth would rather enjoy thier lone time with thier creator than join in on whats not feasible to them. Since youths dont go to church as you opined, stop at daystar and check the majority of thier congregation and you'd find them out to be youths. You can also try stopping over at christ embassy. Youd find enough youth to start an army. The reason being that such churches have found a way to integrate the youth and contemporary tenets into the church unlike some churches where the youth are not even noticed because the older generation land most of the money. Please let me dtop here. |

DONSMITH123: A mild drama occurred on Thursday morning at the Federal High Court in Abuja as armed policemen stormed the courtroom when the trial of a former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh was about to commence.
DAILY POST gathered that presence of the armed policemen was informed by security threats against the judge.
A source, who spoke to our correspondent on the ground of anonymity, said “The reason for the presence of heavily armed police men is as a result of security threats against the trial judge.”
Justice Okon Abang, while responding to an enquiry by Badeh’s counsel, Akin Olujimi ordered the policemen to stay outside the courtroom saying, “their presence is a court issue.”
Badeh is facing an 11-count charge of criminal breach of trust and corruption to the tune of N3.9bn leveled against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The EFCC had alleged that the former defence chief used funds of the Nigeria Air Force to purchase choice property in Abuja.
According to the anti-graft agency, Badeh illegally used N60m to renovate his son’s house, which he purchased for N260m in Abuja between January and December 2013.
The ex-defence chief is also alleged to have used N878m – being funds of the air force – to build a shopping mall in Abuja.
