Dear Nairalanders, I salute your intelligence and opinion on any issue brought forward so please assist me: I am planning my wedding and need to know how much I need to budget and/or work with to make it a success because am expecting about 100 guests or max 120 people.

I strongly disagree with the claim the police are making. What the robbers does these days is to rob people early in the morning or from 8pm, using okada.
I know of a lady who was robbed about 2weeks ago somewhere in Ojota at gun point with everything she had, taken away from her. Also we have heard numerous cases of ladies being threatened and/or killed in most cases without anything being done by the police.
It is so sad the while some people wake up early in the morning to go about their legitimate business, some evil boys are somewhere watching to rob them, using okada and leaving majority of them injured.
God will take revenge of innocent people on our police men who have refused to do their work and the ones aiding the robbers with guns and information about unsuspecting victims.
Shame on evil Nigerian policemen!!!

I think it is neither here not there. It is really sad. The police man might have seen his coleagues robbing in that area on the said day and decides to run for his life before they discover being caught by another police man that identified them OR they may have seen the inspector that night and decided to kill him because they know he had seen them in operation armed robbery. I pray God orders our steps in life.

I learnt on one's wedding day, people are there to dress for both the bride and the groom and also to tell them how they look before stepping out into the day. I asked for the reason and was made to understand that if they look at the mirror, something bad will definitely happen that day as looking at the mirror is a bad sign of an impending danger. I was made to understand that from time immemorial, that practice has been in place till today hence the reason why you find mirrors in dressing rooms coverd with clothes or taking out of the roo where the bride/groom are meant to be dressed for thier day. How true is this please my people?

Thanks Killz, you really are a wonderful councillor. I actually decided to be humble and good with this guy but most times, I regret being good and soft hearted. He tells me at times that I dont get angry and that am too gentle which I found a bit funny. I thougt because of the age difference and because he wants to lord over me hence the behaviour. I will be 36 and he just turned 33 this year. My people all over have been disturbing me about marriage and what they tell me ususally is ''are you selecting or waiting for a rich and a complete man'' and the likes. They even told me not to look out for anything that I should just accept whoever comes my way. I think this is going the extreme for me so I decided to play along with him but at this jucture, the fear of accepting his marriage proposal is over me as I do not want to make an eternal mistake after waiting this long. I declined my partner's offer for marriage because I feel he doesnt respect me.
