Help, my 05 Honda Accord doesn't engage in drive in the morning, but the reverse gear engage. I have changed the oil and serviced one part like dt on top of the gear and also the transmission oil filter too, yet, no changes.
It work perfectly again once that D later engage.
Just start saving up for a new gear. In my honest opinion, don't spend a penny repairing that gear again because it's just a waste.

Just buy a replacement gear, service it with the recommended Honda transmission oil and have peace of mind afterwards.

Speaking from experience.

Please advice, I had the drive light blinking and VSA light on when I hard accelerated from 1 to 2 over the weekend. The transmission stopped shifting and when I scanned, the code was P0756. I cleared the code and transmission worked again. I noticed that the code comes up when I drive on bad untarred road. The code is shift solenoid B stuck off. What do I do?
Get your rewire to check the gear switch and service it if possible. It's nothing too much to worry about.

Hello My Fellow Honda users.

I use an honda pilot 07 model....very strong and reliable car but there is an issue with the rear wheel . The left wheel at the back is always bent when loaded.

Is there any permanent solution to this please ?
That's the popular CAMBAR issue with Honda Pilot and CRV. There is a permanent fix for it, but I'll have to ask and get back to you. Few people in the Honda group I'm in had theirs fixed permanently but I can't remember how they went about it.

Just keep a close tab on the package tracker. Two items I ordered, one since November last year and the other was in January this year, all arrived my doorstep yesterday. They had tracking number LPxxxxxxx and it was delivered by nipost. Just be hopeful.

Gurus in the house, Please what is the best oil and collant I can use for my Honda civic 2007 model??
Mobil 1
Castrol
Valvoline

These are very good oils, just ensure you get from a reputable dealer and ensure you buy the recommended oil for your car.

As for coolant, there are various products in the market, but avoid those cheap coolants below 15k because they are all water mixed with coloring.

I hope this helps.

Hello Guys, I'm happy to be part of this great house. I just got myself a Honda civic 2007 model. will be taking it out for servicing tomorrow.

Can anyone link me with a good Honda mechanic here in ikorodu? ( gbogbo area) Thanks.
Welcome on board Chief. You made the best decision.

I'm sure other members that reside in ikorodu may have something to say about the recommendation you seek.

To all gurus in the house, what is the effect of reintroducing thermostat which had run for years without it? Car is honda accord 2009 and pick it up last month. Had overheating issues 2 weeks ago, mechanic said radiator was blocked and did a flush. While bleeding the system after re-installation of radiator, discovered that the car had no thermostat. Before then, I know that the temperature guage raises and stays in the middle but now, after the flush, it takes a while for the guage to rise. I don't know how long ago the thermostat was removed and I want to be careful so as not the cause further issues on the engine.
For your peace of mind, get that thermostat back in place because as it stands now, your engine is running cold and it will result in high fuel consumption amongst other things.

Since you've experienced an overheating already, I'm sure the engine had heating issues and the previous owner removed the thermostat instead of fixing the root cause.

Get that overheating issues sorted out first then just replace the radiator and reintroduce the thermostat, you'll enjoy the car better.

Good luck.

Good afternoon everyone,
My car(eod 2005) vibrates whenever I turned on the Ac. But it doesn't vibrate during motion. The vibration do stop after some time even when stationary.
A lot of issues could be at play here, this includes your alternator, throttle body, idle sensor, engine wear, engine seats etc.

Your best bet is to get a rewire or AC specialist to check it out to know the actual cause.

I hope this helps.
Car TalkRe: The HONDA Club by Cryomancer(op): 2:26pm On Feb 26
Flyestgurl:
Thank you God.
The specialist sent his boy and the boy said his boss not around now, and he’s still learning, that I should towed the car to his workshop for proper evaluation. So I won’t be using him. I’m going to where it’s parked today and will try to get a gear specialist that will take it on. If anyone has a good gear master on here, I wouldn’t mind. Thank you sir, I appreciate the help. I will update how it’s going from her on out. Blessings.
My approach to fixing things is that if the cost of repairs will cost up to 35% of getting a replacement, I'll rather go for the replacement instead... it's just my philosophy.

All the best with your repairs.
Car TalkRe: The HONDA Club by Cryomancer(op): 7:54pm On Feb 25
Flyestgurl:
Here’s the result, what does this mean and is it salvageable?
Lucky you. The two codes aren't pointing to anything too major.

35-01 Relates to your output shaft speed sensor.
21-01 This is related to your sequential mode. I guess this is why you're having issues with the gear shifting and moving the vehicle.

The gear specialist should advise you further on the best way forward.

However, what was the gearmaster's response after the scan?

Good afternoon my Oga's.

I noticed check engine light in Honda accord 2009. I scanned and it come with the following codes
PO138
PO128
PO706

What level of repair do I undertake?
In addition to what the first person who quoted you said, you also need to check your 02 sensor (the one underneath the car)

Good afternoon everyone, my Honda city 05/06 is bad, the gear master I called said they can’t repair it. I’m angry coz my brother made me buy this car cox of the fuel efficiency and low maintenance. It’s been parked for 3 months now and the market value for this car gearbox is unreasonably expensive. What can I do?
Firstly your car uses a CVT gear which is very delicate and a wrong oil usage will send it to a scrap yard within a week.

1. When you took delivery of the car, did you change the gear oil??... If you did, what type of gear oil did you use?

2. You should have called a gear specialist that has a scanner, so as to ascertain what exactly is the problem.

3. Since the gearbox has been taken out already and the gear specialist already told you to go for a replacement, I'll advise you just replace the gear because trying to fix a CVT gear is just a waste of time and money in my own opinion.

4. Just cut your losses, get another gear and use the right gear oil for it and enjoy your car afterwards.

So sorry about your experience.

Good afternoon my seniors.. I want to do some upgrades/makeovers on my 04 accord.

Can I get bumper with space for fog light? Apart from the usual bumper?..

I checked YouTube, I love most of the Mods I see there, will I get them in Ladipo or our markets here, I’m just seeing EBay, Amazon etc.

And has upgraded an EOD? Or who has an idea on what new thing I could add to give it a face lift.

Thanks
Yes you can upgrade the EOD and everything you need will be gotten easily. I once used EOD and I did some nice upgrades too.

For the bumper with fog lights, you'll need to get 06/07 bumpers along with the front grills to install the factor fitted fog lights like I did on mine which actually looked better. But if cost is a problem, you can go for the aftermarket type of projector glass fog lights which has black rubbers inclusive with it, and use on your current bumper.

As for the general upgrade you seek, EOD already looks sporty on its own so luckily for you, no much upgrades needed asides from getting the JDM rear spoiler, bumper extensions kits. But these stuffs can be sourced from AliExpress or eBay alone, you'll be extremely lucky to find it in the naija market. For the spoiler just get the normal ducktail type which you find around and paint it black just like I did.

For engine, no much tune ups needed. You can install a valvtronic exhaust if you like your car loud.

You have a very nice car, you'll enjoy it if you take good care of it.

This is a picture of mine before I crashed it in an accident.

It's inner rear view mirror, not side mirror.
Oh... Sorry I missed that part.

Honestly, your best bet is to use sealant. That's the same seal that is being used for windshield installation. I don't know if somebody can recommend something else. Sealant was what I used in mine and it never came off again

Good day my people, my inner rear mirror got detached, which gum can I use to reattach it.
Hmmm... Why not clip it back in instead. I once used a gum to fix same issue and when the morrow finally broke, it refused to come out for me replace just the mirror. I had to buy the full side mirror unit again.

If you want to use gum, please ensure it's a light gum that won't be hard to take off in case you want to change only the mirror. Don't make the mistake I made.

Almost a year
Still enough time to have done damage, considering the fact that the car wasn't bought brand new.

I'll advise you revert to the factory 5w-20 or 5w-30, since you've been using a heavy oil already, just to see if it could help remedy the situation. But if it doesn't work after 4 months, just save up for a new engine.

Good morning people. Please I need help. Don't really understand what is happening to my 2003 Honda Accord EOD. It consumes oil alot. Note the car is not smoking and works fine with excellently chilling Ac. The problem is that once I change the engine oil, within three weeks there will be shortage. The oil level goes below the last hole on the oil dipstick. I use Total Quartz 20w 50 oil for the engine. Kindly assist and advise so I can know what to do.
Hmmm... Bros you've been using a wrong oil type and I suspect this is the genesis of the problem you're experiencing.

How long have you been using this 20w-50??

You may end up buying a new engine Chief.

My brother no be lie u talk mehn..

The eod I'm talking about is left in my care by my youngest brother who relocated so I'm looking at keeping it or selling it but the car looks ok but I g seen the leg issues lots of time .
For this tax regime person need get sense ..
Make I dey manage my beloveth Avensis .

Moreso
My woman had the discussion continues two years ago and I wasn't around then ,it was consuming too much fuel to the point that she kept fuel in her boat.
Usually was stopping her on the way and she had throttle to safe place with some other issues to until I advice her to sell it off to her mechanic..
I think the best I can do is scan the car and see .

Thanks

Also note

The car looks fine but very cheap in price so selling it won't be up to 2m

The one my woman bought was 1.8m and it is as a higher version than this so you can see that comparing it with other cars like Corolla,it's a difficult option to call
If I'm to be objective in my response. Just sell off the car and have peace of mind.

From your write up, you won't be able to maintain a Honda vehicle, because it doesn't condone abuse and if you abuse the car, it will deal with you just like it dealt with your wife.

Just stick with Toyota which can withstand abuse for several years.

Nobody sells a good working EOD for 2m, even those with poor engine performance and body sells above 2m at the moment, so if you're willing to sell yours for 2m, it an indication of something hidden.

I wish you the best.

HELLO GUYS PLEASE I NEED HELP.

I RECENTLY BOUGHT A CAR AFTER SOME DAYS I DISCOVERED THAT WHENEVER I ON HEADLIGHTS THE CAR WILL OFF. I THINK ITS PROBABLY WEAK BATTERY OR ALTERNATOR NOT CHARGING.

NOW IF ITS WEAK BATTERY, WHAT ;
* PRODUCT/MODEL CAN YOU RECOMMEND FROM EXPERIENCE?
* ANY IDEA OF THE COST?
You should get a rewire first to inspect your alternator and charging components first. It might be a fuse issue or other issues which would not need you spending close to 100k for battery or alternator replacement.

Please house, my honda city brought up the P0658 code all of sudden and the car just went off. No light on the dashboard,no spark on the battery, even the gauges remained where they are when the car went off.
Any help on this please.
Did you recently do any form of electrical wiring on your car??

This issue is an electrical issue and your car is having low voltage/voltage outage. Your actuators and brain box is your starting point of examination.

However, since there is no spark on your battery, it can also be a case of your alternator not charging at all (I had same experience in the past too where my vehicle died in motion because there was a bridge in the fuse box which stopped my alternator from functioning).

I'm sure a competent rewire can trace the issue easily, since it involves voltage supply.

I hope this helps.

Please house, I crave your indulgence.

My car's tie rods need replacement. I intend to change the outer and inner tie rods.

Which do you recommend? New or tie rods or toks?

Thank you.
New OEM will be very scarce except you're ordering directly from eBay or other reputable sites. Most new ones you might find in naija are Taiwan or at best Japan, and they also last long too and quite price, if you find a good dealer. The toks too are very okay if you find a good seller to supply you a direct toks part.

Your pocket may be the determining factor for whichever you might end up with.

Please what is the common faults to look out for when buying a toks Honda accord 2014 Model?
No known fault with that car. The CVT gear in the 4cyl engine are a bit delicate and also have just a few reported cases of gear vibration after hitting 100k miles and above, and the case can easily be resolved by changing the torque converter.

That car is a lovely car, no known faults associated with it. If you can go for the touring edition of 2016/2017 version, you will love it more.

I once experienced something similar to this issue. I'll advise you visit a competent rewire for them to inspect the fuses and connections directly from the alternator down to vehicle electronics. Also ask him to inspect any bridge in the electrical system. It took my rewire 2 days to detect the issue and in the end, only a fuse of #500 was replaced and the car came back to normal.

I hope this helps
