I have changed Kazeem twice.

The last one tried but was way too dishonest. I need someone that knows what he is doing.

I still spend 15-20k daily on fuel from Ikorodu to Marina and back. It's too much sir.

It consumes fuel for the following reasons.

Worn and expired plugs. (Changed)
Dying coils with wires (Changed )
Exhaust leak (Will check)
High response to gas pedal and sudden braking (Guilty)
Use of AC on short trips (guilty)
Weak fuel pump (changed)
Dirty oil and carbon-filled injectors (serviced)
Dirty or weak maf sensor (changed)
Vacuum leaks from hoses (changed the hoses)
Last but not least, uneven tyres balance, and weak brake pads. (Maybe guilty, since the back hubs are making noise and I often use my hand brake to silence the noise, which causes drags) c


Could all these be the reason I am burning 15-20k fuel daily?

Please help. Also, How do I get the original oil seal? I have changed it twice, The oil still leaks till it gets to the lower gauge. Also, when I start the car in the morning, it makes a funny sound but it stops after a few seconds or a minute. When I start it in the morning. makes kokkokkokokoko for a few seconds or minutes and then stops.

Should I BE WORRIED?

I done spend over 500k in repairs. I don tire self.

But there is an improvement in performance. But I just want to fix every minor fault to avoid spending major money again for repairs.

From your description, you have a crank/timing issue to even start with. The oil shortage also shows engine wear. I know money no dey oo but I'll advise you save yourself a lot of headaches by getting a new engine.

But if you still want to fix, call Engr. Koku 07019353345, he's the only one that fixes my car and good with it he's at Oyingbo.

Please you need to visit a Honda stereo specialist to see if it can still be fixed. If you're in Lagos, you can visit Willoughby Street in Oyingbo, that's where I once fixed mine but I don't have his number anymore.

But just so you know, that stereo is already at its latter stage of life, that's why it's acting up in that manner. Just plan to get a tokunbo one which the last time I checked wasn't even up to 45k

The fact that it doesn't request code before switching to Android explains why you think the sound is great.

Let me explain:
When I first got my car, even if I disconnect the battery terminal, it doesn't request for code, not until I had a minor fault in the stereo and I called a Honda stereo specialist. After fixing it, he explained to me that my sound system has been by-passed not to request for code which in turn has tampered with the sound quality. I didn't believe him initially until he did it for just 7k and Boss, the sound was mad after he restored it to factory standard and gave me the code to keep whenever I need to unlock the radio for any reason. I was shocked at that discovery.

I initially used to think my sound system was great not until that guy opened my eyes. Now I can't even increase my volume pass 12 anymore due to the mad ass sound, yet you still feel my car vibrate from outside due to the sound. Initially I always set my volume at 22-26, but now I no fit try am again


I'm sure that you'll also notice the difference in sound production if you find someone with same kind of your car which still has the stereo codes intact.

P.S: I'm an audiophile

I don’t know the type of android you use but the one I got on my 010 has a very sound stereo system. It uses the ones that came with the factory and it sounds great.

Before you changed your sound system to Android, does you factory stereo requests for code whenever you disconnect your radio switch or your battery terminal from the battery head?

Does you MDX have a factory auxiliary input/USB/bluetooth? If yes, then you can't.

I think it mostly works for Accords, Element, Civic and CRV

Recently I noticed it jerks sometimes when acceleration is 60 nd also makes some sound when shifting gear while driving. The mechanic that helped me check says it's a sensor that need to be changed but the jerking issue still occurs once in a while after changing the sensor. Please help

How did the mechanic come to the conclusion that the sensor he changed was the cause of the issue?

Whoever told you that loves you so much and doesn't want you to waste money.

Those stock stereos are called "Stock" for a reason, because they were tuned by sound producing companies like Mark Levinson, Harman kardon and the like.

Takeaway that stock and you get a less quality sound. But you can still buff your sound by installing some aftermarket amplifiers, but e no still fit be like stock.

I maintained my stock stereo and added a Bluetooth 12v AUX input I got from AliExpress and it serves me right.

And the current obvious symptoms are hard starting when the engine is hot or cold, and lack of power when I try to accelerate.

Your EVAP canister vent shut valve is the culprit.

You can also get your EGR checked and cleaned in the process, it might also help improve your acceleration due to the removal of carbon buildup after cleaning. I once experienced this low acceleration and after scanning, it showed my EGR was bad. Car came back to life after I got a replacement.

What are the symptoms/changes you observed in the vehicle first?

Common Causes of P0948

Faulty hydraulic pump relay
Wiring issues in the relay circuit
Voltage spikes in the circuit
Corrosion or damage to electrical connectors
Issues with the vehicle's battery or charging system

Check the relay and probably get a replacement to test on your vehicle.

Good day house, honda civic alternator was faulty it's over 3 months now but i went to fix it early last month. while i was driving the car to the rewire shop with his battery i didn't notice the car was running without the fan on and the temperature didnt rise on the cluster board..I got to know after i parked the car and hood was open then i noticed some water leaked at the top of the radiator like a sign of overheat, to cut it short after fixing the alternator on starting the car there i confirmed i drove the car there without the fan on so the rewire tried connecting the fan but only one fan works, its double cell radiator so he had to create a wire from the of the top of the engine to the fuse board before the 2 fan could run but it making a loud noise.....Is the connection right and what could be the reason why the fan is making noise and it runs faster than before....

I don't understand how the two fans were supposed to work if you didn't on your AC. was your AC on when you noticed none of the fans were working?

Only one fan is meant to cool your radiator, while the other one picks and stops simultaneously when your AC is on.

Rather than allowing the rewire to by-pass the fan, why not look for the root cause of the stoppage and fix it. I suspect a thermostat issue here.

I don't have anybody I would like to recommend. But as for the direction to Oyingbo, just type Willoughby Street on your map and it will get you down there. From costain, drive straight to apapa-road and use the newly constructed bridge, then descend the bridge and cut to your left hand side towards yaba road. The map should guide you better.

These are changeable sensors and doesn't require any major works. A competent auto-rewire should be able to get all these done. If you're also a DIY fan, you can go source for some of these sensors and have them changed yourself.

The ABS sensor will involve bringing down your tires. And I'll advise you get brand new so as to save yourself headaches.

Nice car you've got there Sir, I hope you're really taking care of her. There was a time I wanted to get that same same but it was just too low and has small cabin space for my liking. I needed it for a sporty redesign and tune-up project I intended embarking on.

Just a piece of advice, let's try to ensure we get original components for our cars to ensure long lasting driving experience, less visits to mechanic shops and buying of expensive parts, due to the hight costs of parts now.

I visited my mechanic in oyingbo lately for minor leg repairs and change of back engine seat and all of this cost me close to 140k, which would have cost me not more than 50k early last year.

Parts don cost oo, if you cut corners to buy inferior parts, you'll end up spending more in the long run by buying multiples of inferior parts which will end up costing more than the actual original one.

My two cents.

Changed all four 5 tyres.

Sterling rack and pump fixed. Cost 125k for both.

Fixed engine oil leaks I complained about last time. ( Oil still dey leak small small). But I go manage am till I get a new engine or sell it or it becomes worse or eventually fixed with original oil seal. The mechanic said the factory original is hard to come by. And nobody go comot am from working engine give you.

Fixed the four legs with the back hubs too. Make I observe am for another week or two. Especially ball joint. One is now 15k. Damn! I shouted. Wetin we dey buy 3.5k that year for Honda Bullet? It is well.

All sensors changed ( about 8 in all, including MAP and the 2 O2 sensors. O2 sensors cost 16k each. Nor know if dem cheat me sha. Others are cheaper.

Fuel consumption is better now. But e still dey chop fuel. Guess it's because no indomie and the fan is on direct. I am thinking of fixing this too. But the mechanic thinks say I wan waste money. He said it will have little or no impact on fuel consumption. Especially since na Naija used already. Do you think he is right?

Now, na gear dey misbehave somehow. It has difficulty selecting lower gears. This just started last week after the sensors were fixed. If it goes from 5 to 1 on a slow down, it will have issues picking from 1 again, maybe until after a few seconds or forcefully. And it leaps at times when changing which does not make driving smooth.

Advise me. Is this a major issue?

I would have loved to sell it and buy another since I observed this gear issue. But my fear is that I don almost fix this one finish. What if the next Naija used is worse?

Concerning your fuel consumption, I'll advise you revert your fan to factory setting for fuel optimization. Buying a catalyst has no impact on your fuel consumption because it's strictly emission control. So long your o2 sensor is fine, then you have nothing to worry. However, if you're in the class of someone like me who hates to see check engine light on dashboard, then you can get the China catalyst installed to clear that light.

As for your gear, I think you need to see a gear specialist for best advise. Try to get it serviced first, but if the situation no improve, abeg just save up and buy a new gear to save you lots of headache.

You're a very strong man for carrying out such repairs in this economy and God will replenish your pocket.

Over all Xbox (last gen) has better value for money. that is if you are buying to use and not buying as a seller.

You can buy games cheap in naira directly from Microsoft store, you have gamepass too or install games for those that wants to go offline.

Better quality gaming 4k popping, better teraflops than PS4 pro. Amazing gaming experience for online gamers.

The fact that you can swap AA batteries or buy a rechargeable pack is a BIG plus to the controller lifespan as against PS4 inbuilt battery pack.

Their controller has better ergonomics than a PS4 or even PS5 pad.

Market is a function of demand and supply, does not necessarily dictate quality.

The ONLY ADVANTAGE PlayStation has over XBOX is market popularity and exclusives. That's all. So if this is what you want then by all means, go for it.

I think you even did better justice to the comparison than I did.

Real gamers will always have their Xbox closer, no matter how long they play PS exclusive games. The features which the Xbox presents the gamer with are just miles away from what a PS can give.

Xbox controllers with their AA batteries is also a demerit.

Smaller online/offline community and therefore fewer swap options. Most sellers dont even stock xbox CDs and the few that do, na only FIFA, MK and COD dem get. Gamepass is the only merit here but it doesnt fully make up for it.

Lower resale value.

At the current rate Xbox is loosing the console war, it is doubtful ps7 would release an Xbox equivalent to compete sef

As for exclusives, I hope you know Xbox also has some nice exclusives too.

All these other things mentioned are just end-user perception which is normal. I was actually talking about hardware and functionalities.

Anyway, when it comes to performance and visuals, the Xbox beats PS hands down. The stronger hardware components which are made to last longer years compared to PS4 where NEPA takes light on your console five consecutive times and your hard disk like drops and eventually fried out before developing power issues.

The controller which you actually complained of is an advantage to Xbox users because I don't need to visit a technician each time my battery dies out because I have a swappable alternative.

We all have our preferences in choosing a game though but I'll choose performance and hardware over exclusive games

Honda Civic and Honda City are fuel efficient due to the small engine capacity. Just ensure you carry out proper maintenance and you'll be fine. Parts are expensive generally now due to high exchange rate, just so you know.

From the look of things, I think your airbag system needs to be checked, I'm suspecting the steering wheel/dashboard airbag. Did it suddenly pop up or you had a slight collision or you entered a big bump?

Have a rewire check the module.

Both cars are very okay and also easy to maintain. No car is cheap to maintain for now, considering the high price of replacement parts now. As for their parts availability, you wouldn't have to sweat before finding any. So the choice is yours.

If you're buying car now, just rule out cheap maintenance please. Nothing is cheap anymore. Original synthetic 5w-30 engine oil alone cost close to a 100k.

Lol... I think further diagnostics/inspection needs to be carried out on your engine cooling system. The fact that the engine began to overheat already tells you the reason why whoever connected the fan directly did so.

I've been made to understand that when fan connects directly it makes the engine become abnormally cool which in turn have a negative effect on your fuel consumption.

With the way you're driving that car without attending to the underlying cause of the overheating, it's only a matter of time before you buy a new engine. That fan by-pass is just to buy you some time.

Contact the last user if he still has the code. You can also check round your glovebox, you might be lucky to still find yours there.

If any of the above doesn't work out, don't worry yourself, it will just cost you between 2k-3k to get the unlock codes. I once used a person on nairaland for such service but I can't remember his name again. You can just search for such service on NL
