Too bad but the man is not the one going for the interview why is it hard for you to verify everything before going for the interview.
I find it somehow hard to believe because if you work with a big firm the payment of the conference will be done with Accounting section not HRM.

My brother we are not a fortune 500
I didn't meet an accountant when I joined the company.
The M.D pays salaries directly, I heard the last accountant was sacked because of fraud.
I was informed by the M.D about the conference that I would be going for networking purposes because I met my target this year.
My pay is good and I get my commissions.
The guy in question is HR/Admin so he handles travelling/cost related matters.

I'm just weak at the moment
Can't begin to go into details of office politics

What kind of organisation do you work for. Your HR messed up your UK application, nkthing was said or done to him.

They gave you a fake invitation without payment to the organising Body, you didn't check to be sure knowing you are on the list of the inviting organisation. Yet u went to the embassy/consulate. Knowing that whatever happens there doesn't affect your organisation or the HR guy but u.


You lost a contract becaise of this same person yet the company still see the need to keep him.

I'm sorry but I'm not believing your story.

What you can do:

Get a letter from your company, detailing the error in judgement and the oversight. Send it to the embassy plus a personal letter from you.. way before your next application. And make sure you are giving accurate information in your next application and mention that u were denied and had written a letter stating what went wrong at the interview.

I'm so confused right now
I went for my interview yesterday but it didn't go well
This is my second interview
I asked the VO reason for denial and he confirmed my IV was fake
He said I can apply again but I'd have to explain the fake invite
Apparently our HR did not pay for the conference I'm supposed to attend and generated a fake IV he's currently on leave/on the run.(investigation is on-going).
I and two of my other colleagues were denied UK visas for a training last year because of his negligence
I have also lost out on a contract because of this same guy.
This man is trying to bring me down(He can't succeed)
Pls I need your advice on how to handle future applications although I don't intend applying anytime soon.
How do I put my integrity back in check for future applications with the U.S embassy

Aunty, The truth is, they already see you as a child trafficker,especially if the children are under aged.
Whether they are your bosses children or sister's children, at that moment you couldn't prove any relationship since you bear a different surname, besides why didn't they go with their mom? Why you? These are the questions that comes to the mind of the VO. I believe that was why the VO emphasized on it, and they don't take child trafficking lightly. Great job you are doing

I was refused a B1/B2 visa early this year

My interview was going fine until the VO went through my previous passport, it has 3 UK visa but I only used two and mistakenly answered thrice when she asked(I was nervous...lol)
The VO kept looking at the visas, using her hand to feel the page
The passport is a non e-passport I used as a teenager and young adult 8/9 years ago with my maiden name, I only took it along to prove my travel history when asked.

My company is sending me for a conference/networking event soon and I don't want this to be an issue
Do you suggest I go with an affidavit as I now use my husband's name in my new passport?
I also explained that as reason for refusal in my new application

Your response would be highly appreciated

Are you female? But you couldn't have seen that OCCUPATION section if you were female though! You may have to do some clarification as things stand now. The form is gender specific and no room for travel history for females....

Sighs! Okay, this is a case for the customer care unit anyways, if they can help on this at all. Well, well, go back and edit that particular area in your DS160 form, input another field first instead of OTHER, then reedit and put OTHER, the pop up stuff should appear, you should be fine from there.

As an aside, I normally fill in my field of study there sef, my occupation is quite different from what I studied, and this hasn't given me any issue till now. I just don't feel comfortable filling in my occupation in that OTHER section as it comes across to me as being too pushy as though to show I work in a much more comfortable field, that's just me though. I am much more comfortable about my ability to communicate this during interview than writing it on paper so to speak.

I have already booked a hotel because i know is a most,but i dont know about flight.
Found it a little difficult getting a hotel around the area my convention would hold as many people will be coming from all around the globe.

There is no space to specify when u write "other" for primary occupation.
The question might come up during your interview then u can explain

See, let me tell you, if you are under the supernatural grace of God, the blue paper will be too heavy for the VO to pick and give you, even though 10 people has been given backward, and Yes, "if your story sell market for ear"

Hello House

I'm a bit confused at the moment
I paid the 64k visa fee last month to apply for a B1/B2 visa for a conference in Houston scheduled for September
However with the hurricane in that area I suspended the application
Now I intend applying with my kids(twin girls) for a disneyland christmas holiday in Florida
Can I use the payment slip for the 3 of us or do I pay another 64k visa fee?
And how do I go about with the DS-160 form for the 3 of us?

I tried filling the form but it seems it covers just one minor(not sure though)

You can't blame that guy at all because how would you expect to be interviewed like a person looking for job all because you are going for a conference to learn and probably network with professionals. The pressure of the screaming from the outside of the embassy alone is enough for someone to get tired and exausted. It happened to me beore. I was prepared for the interview and did some pre interview for myself, I feel so confident then because I have prepared all answers.
My interview was scheduled for 9:45 I got there 7am.the que was so long and people were just coming and at exactly 9am you still hear some people asking "has the CGI called 7am, 7:45" staying under a little hot sunrise at 9am can be very frustrating. I got in front of that young handsome Chinese guy he was like.

VO: how re you?
Me: Fine and how are you?
VO: Great. Why are you going to the United State
Me: I am attending a conf on .............
VO : looked at me with one king eye as if I snatched his girlfriend. What do you do?
Me: I'm an accountant . I work with an IT company, I do bla bla bla
Vo: how old are you?
Me: told him ( as if his eyes are blind)
Vo: OK you are an accountant . Are you chattered?
Me: Not yet chattered actually I am currently doing my MBA in bla bla university (I am giving the chinko the honest answers o)..
VO: if you deduct your expenses from your income what will it give you?
Me: I was like is this guy mad why is he asking me all this question. I told him.
VO: what is FIFO and LIFO . I was already getting tired of his questions I couldn't hear him properly he keeps repeating it. Though I know the answer to that question but my mind no dey him side again because I do dey feel tired already. He just remove blue paper and return mynpassport. I collected it and bounce.

Sometimes they ask some questions you don't expect which can piss you off.. One old man was asked stupid question like that which a friend experienced on his day of interview. He said the man got upset and told the vo are you asking me this question to give me a job or to approve me of visa? He said the vo kept quiet and approved his visa.
Sometimes the simplest question may seem hard to answer when you are tensed up an exausted. It doesn't mean you don't know it but you did not expect it to come at you. Sometimes when they see that you are qualified and they already have their decision in mind to deny you. That is when they will be asking you some stupid questions... Its not advisable to be to anxious when going for an interview it makes you look tensed and when asked questions you seem dumb and look like an idiot. Be calm and have it at the back of your mind this is not a do or die. Just free style.

I gave the VO a breakdown of my profession, reason for travel and how attending conferences was part of my job description, and all through my explanation she was nodding in approval.( I was like, I'm definitely getting it).Until we got to the travel history/passport part.

I asked her why she was denying me and she couldn't give any tangible reason, she only said the blue paper would explain.(Hmmmmn).

I'm grateful for the words of encouragement LadyG,Seyewest, KaptainAfrika,dotcomamename, and every other name I have failed to mention.

I'll reapply ASAP and share my testimony.

There's this particular visa that doesn't have my passport photo on it but I travelled with it, she kept using her hand to feel that page

The next thing I heard
Sorry, you can convince another VO next time and she handed me the blue slip
