Now known as Miss Sahhara, she was originally born Clifford Oche, from Benue state, Nigeria. A student of Benue state university. A recent graduate completing his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Bonaventure, was arraigned in a Gudu Upper Area Court in Abuja on Monday for allegedly committing adultery.

The Eagle Online reports that the husband of his alleged lover, Mr Anozie, made a direct criminal complaint to the court against the defendant on March 24. The youth corps member who resides in Abuja was arraigned on a one-count charge of committing adultery with Mrs. Anozie. Mr Anozie of Kaduna state said the defendant, knowing that he is legally married to Mrs Anozie, committed adultery with her on December 18, 2014.

He said he called Bonaventure on the phone and he confessed that he had sex with his wife once. According to Mr Anozie, he “warned the defendant to stay away from his wife, but his warnings fell on deaf ears.” Mr Anozie went further to explain that the then youth corps member on August 18, 2015 sent transport money to Mrs Anozie, who was enrolled in a tertiary institution in Anambra State, to visit him at his residence and she did. She stayed with Bonaventure in his house from the said date till August 28.

He said Bonaventure repeatedly committed adultery with Mrs Anozie despite his warnings. He explained that the act wounded his “heart beyond measure”. Nawa o!

Give Dino Melaye some respect
Nigerians are quick to judge political events, and often show little wisdom in interpreting their outcomes. The insults some followers of the ballyhooed attack by Senator Dino Melaye on Senator Oluremi Tinubu during a Senate Executive Session are unwarranted. I repeat, unwarranted.

In fact, to use the beloved official description of our politicians: “it is unfortunate”. Insulting Melaye on such trivial matter is synonym of the cliché: “giving a dog a bad name in order to hang him”. A dog knows he is a dog, but must it be called its name to its face? No!

According to Melaye, “Senator Oluremi Tinubu called me a dog and a thug”. Come to think of it, what could Senator Tinubu have expected to happen after saying such? Two things the female senator didn’t know, or probably took for granted, were the exact results she got. Let’s look at the results to see whether Senator Melaye was wrong. One, Melaye was said to have charged at Senator Tinubu, allegedly wanting to beat her up. Two, he was alleged to have said he would impregnate her, only to suddenly realise she was not as “beautiful and robust” as Stella Oduah.

For good measure, Melaye added at a later press conference that Senator Tinubu was not biologically fit for his pregnancy donation because of her midlife menopausal situation. “It is not biologically correct for me to impregnate her because she has attained menopause,” Melaye said. It is no crime if Melaye, a graduate of Geography, thinks the divorced Oduah, at 54, is still fertile, and, Remi Tinubu, 56, isn’t. It is left for scientists to probe Melaye’s submission on his gynaecological postulation. However, studies by Animal researchers, nay, dog breeders, have shown without dispute that the natural response of the carnivore to intrusion, is to attack. If not by tearing at and biting its intruder, a dog will be in the least bark at a trespasser. This Senator Melaye did.

Secondly, a dog in its heat period is highly Hot and cares less about his immediate environment. All a dog wants at such time is to copulate by mounting its target from behind. That much-liked sexual style called “doggy”. How dare Mrs. Tinubu mistook a hunter’s dog for a pits bull; for a hunter’s dog eat “shit” (excreta), and nowhere the class of the latter. Why would Senator Tinubu call Dino Melaye a thug? Let’s face it; Mrs. Tinubu was wrong and committed fallacy of hasty generalisation. Her assertion is logically fallacious in every sense of the word. And, “we will not take it”, (to borrow the happy phrase of former Minister Godsday Orubebe). Does the Senate look like Ojota, or Oshodi motor parks to make Mrs. Tinubu call Melaye a thug? We will not take it, simple!

In fact, was Mrs. Tinubu dazed at the time she made her said comment and unable to differentiate Melaye from M.C Oluomo, the Lagos motor park lord? Even though Melaye has a fleet of automobiles, they are not painted in yellow colours and should not be mistaken for taxi cabs. Without prejudice to the “distinguished” motor park lord (M.C Oluomo), he still can’t be compared to a “distinguished” Senator Melaye, though they share a name prefix. A passionate appeal: Let Senator Melaye be, after all, his best friend, Senate President Bukola Saraki is not complaining. Any other insults against Melaye, we will not take it! Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara has revealed a rather disturbing information about the ongoing anti-corruption war.

Dogara who spoke with journalists at the weekend in Lagos, said monies running into billions of naira have been recovered buried in farmlands in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The speaker was however silent on the precise amount recovered from the farmlands, but he said he was informed that an estimated N1.5 billion cash had so far been dug up. He pointed out that he could never have imagined the scale of corruption Nigeria witnessed, especially in the last administration.

His words: “As we are speaking now, they are recovering monies from someone’s farm somewhere around Abuja. It is very unfortunate where people stole money just for the sake of stealing. “If you were the one who was in charge of fighting corruption, you would have even been shocked by the scale of the problem.” Dogara also dismissed allegations from the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the ant-corruption war is selective and meant to witch-hunt their members. “You will recall that the PDP had been in power for a number of years – for more than a decade – and if you were to weigh members of the opposition that are in government now and had the opportunity to serve, those that would have tendencies to engage in pilfering of resources, majority will come from the PDP, except we are not being realistic,” Dogara said. He noted that not all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were saints, adding that APC also spent money in the course of the electioneering campaigns. He however said there was no evidence yet to prove that government officials at the time transferred money to the APC campaign, stressing that the bulk of the money that was received by the PDP.

Last week, President Buhari said his administration will go all out on those who try to prevent the on-going fight against corruption. The former governor of the Oyo state, Omololu Olunloyo, has denounced his daughter, Kemi Omololu Olunloyo, for her controversial post on the different social media. Mr. Olunloyo has also disclosed that his daughter had a history of mental illness and several efforts by the family and other well-wishers to moderate her erratic behavior have been unproductive.

He defined the statements credited to Kemi as “utterly irresponsible”, “libellous” and “repeatedly painful”. The ex-governor apologized to everyone who had been attacked by his daughter. Former governor wrote: “I would like to apologize without reservation to all persons affected. I hope and pray they would graciously accept the apology.

“There seems to be a curious pair of writers, an Aboderin resident in Ireland and Kemi Olunloyo, who sometimes curiously act separately and sometimes in union. Some of their most unfortunate victims are their half siblings.

“Others of higher status in the society (like) ex-president Obasanjo and quite recently, clergy men with large respectable following, such as the General Oversea of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A Adeboye, a brilliant fellow mathematician, an inspired Bishop Oyedepo, the inimitable Reverend T.B Joshua, all learned men.

“She includes me, her father. All four of us she dubs ritualists. Of course, none of us, as far as I know, is anything of sort. She has gone so far as to accuse us of various sexual crimes and gone too far to give social media itself a very dubious name, in term of uncontrolled freedom to assault others,” the former governor, a mathematician, said.

Kemi’s father added that his daughter’s “erratic” behaviour had put her in trouble in Ireland and in the United States, and the late Ooni of Ife, Okunade Sijuwade, once saved her from the jail. He said: “Of Late, in the last four weeks or so, she had had the audacity to pass irrelevant and hopeless comments on one of our national talented artists, prince Jide Kosoko, whom I admire so much, calling him a black widower as he has unfortunately lost three wives. “I had thought at 52, Kemi will further train her mind and cease to be an embarrassment to herself and member of her nuclear, extended family and to the general public. I thank pastors and psychiatrists like Dr. Lasebikan, who had gone to great lengths at their own personal cost to restrain her from excesses and recklessness. I dissociate myself entirely form her conducts and statements.

“She must accept responsibility for her actions and utterances as well as the consequences. My condemnation is total and not in any instance defensible. My position is absolutely clear. She has gone too far and needlessly so.” Olunloyo was a governor under the banner of the defunct National Party of Nigeria.

Niger Delta militants demands are well spelt-out and arduous to achieve by the Federal Government. International bodies will only advise.

2. Boko Haram was managed for over five years by the Nigerian government yet the economy was only gradually sinking. Niger Delta militants are fast attacking and the implications are gross on the national economy.

5. Even when they were granted amnesty during Umar Musa Yar’adua’s regime, they still came upon irritations with the present administration. Boko Haram has not even been offered Amnesty yet they flee sometimes to other countries upon fierce close-up on them.

There is Niger Delta Avengers, Ultimate Warriors, Egbesu Boys, Indigenous People of Biafra and other upcoming ones. Boko Haram is just a singular network. Actress and model Jokisha Brown was shot dead at an Atlanta strip mall while sitting in her black Mercedes SUV car on Friday July 1, 2016.

Deteriorating domestic security, terrorists’ attacks and severe fuel shortages are some of the factors that had made the country a dangerous place for business people in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). According to the report: “Nigeria offers investors one of the most difficult and dangerous operating environments in sub-Saharan Africa.

The major risks to businesses stem from the deteriorating domestic security situation, which is characterised by rampant criminal activity and frequent terrorist attacks, along with the country’s severe fuel shortages.” Out of 48 SSA countries that were reviewed, Nigeria placed 14th position and is behind Kenya, Ghana and South Africa and scored 37.9 percent in its Operational Risk Index According to the report, “inherent operational risks pose dangers to the safety of foreign workers and business interests, and also cause disruption to the country’s utilities infrastructure and transport network, both of which are struggling to meet the needs of an expanding economy and population.” “Pervasive corruption across both the public and private sector serves to further complicate bureaucratic procedures, raise legal costs and deter foreign direct investment.”

President of Malawi, Peter Mutharika, has reportedly asked citizens of the country to change their eating habits and focus more on eating mice and grasshoppers as part of measures to ease off the biting effect of the country’s sliding economy.

The News reports that the president told millions of Malawians, who are currently starving as a result of the economic quagmire the country has found itself to stop depending on maize as source of food since the country is also faced with acute food shortage. As reported by local media, the country had witnessed poor harvests because of the long dry spells and floods. While stressing that his government was under serious pressure to save the people from hunger, President Mutharika, he added: “But why should Malawian die with hunger when we have different things to eat? Muzidya mbewa, zitete, komanso chinangwa!”

Speaking at a political rally in Mulanje, southern region of Malawi, Mutharika also asked the civil servants to stop demanding for salary increment and, and instead, look for other ways to make money for themselves. “And you the civil servant you should stop demanding from my government to raise your salary because it is doing its best to give you a conducive environment , what you should do is to work hard on your own,” he said.

On April 8, it was reported that a based married gospel singer Yvonne Omoarebokhae, died in a hotel room in Benin after her encounter with Apostle Psalm Okpe, General Overseer of Fresh Oil Ministries, Lagos. As many claimed that, she gospel singer was drugged and sexually abused by the pastor, series of autopsy reports has also been carried out as the accused was locked up in prison for about two months.

The Benue-state born pastor regained freedom on June 2 and he finally narrated his own side of the story. Speaking with Daily Sun, Pastor Okpe said: “It so happened that of rumours were flying about and people have not taken time to ask for my own side of the story. So, I want to use this opportunity to address the issue. On March 18, 2016 at about 7am, I got a message inbox in my Facebook because of the previous posts I made regarding the crusades I wanted to take to all the universities. So, a lot of musicians across the country were sending inboxes; they wanted to join me to minister at the conferences. Of course, those who follow me on Facebook know that I give a lot of young people platform to excel; I have exposed a lot of musicians around the world. And in this country, I have taken a lot of pastors around the world.”

“So, on March 18, this year, this lady, Yvonne, sent me a message, saying she wanted to join the conference. I asked her if we had met before and she no, but that she was one of my fans on Facebook. I asked her where she was based and she said Benin. I told her I was in Benin few weeks earlier and she said that anytime I come to Benin I should let her know so she can join the conference. I told her I was coming to Sapele for a conference and when I eventually came, she offered to pick me from the airport. So, she came with a taxi driver and she was even the person who took me to the hotel where I paid. We moved straight away to Sapele. Sapele conference was in the morning. Having come back from the Sapele conference, everybody parted ways.”

Pastor Okpe further explained that: “The following morning, on April 8, she came at about 7am to pick me to buy some things and pick up my luggage. We came back to the hotel with the heavy bags and some people helped to carry the bags into my room. Then a friend of called me and said that he wanted to see me because he had just finished his church cathedral. He wanted me to witness what God had done and in excitement, I told her that I wanted to introduce her to my friend so that she could minister in his church the following Sunday. But she said that she wanted to go home and, perhaps, bring food for me in the evening. I rejected her offer, telling her that I would eat in the hotel in the afternoon. She said that she wanted to charge her phone for a few minutes because her battery was going down.

Finally, I left and I told her to drop the key at the reception when leaving.” “I came back after five hours and asked the receptionist for my key. The receptionist looked for the key but couldn’t find it. They asked if I left anybody in the room and I told them that the person I left there should have gone. I went up and knocked on the door but there was no response. I came back to the reception and a waiter went up with me. We opened the door and saw lady neatly dressed and lying down on the bed. I never slept on that bed that day. If it were to be in America where they do finger prints and all that, I think I wouldn’t have passed through this storm the way it happened. Coming in, I was on the phone on a very long international call that lasted for about 55 minutes because they were planning for a conference in Louisiana, USA. So, the pastor was talking to me regarding how to send my tickets among other things. Eventually, I started looking into her eyes because I was expecting that with the way I was talking on top of my voice, she would have some movement or something like that but there was no such. So, I was the one that went to her shook her leg and hit her hand but she did not respond. So, I raised the alarm; I called the hotel management and they called the police. We called the ambulance and the police and I took her to the hospital. When we got there, the doctor pronounced her dead.”

“It was a very traumatic moment for me. One, she was a total stranger I never met anywhere. We were just trying to build father-daughter relationship spiritually. Unfortunately, that was what happened. We took her to the mortuary; it was very traumatic. I really felt so bad; it was like my whole world was collapsing. We couldn’t open her phone because it was pass-worded; nobody could call with it. I suggested to the police officers to remove the sim card and one of them put it inside his phone and later called one honorable that linked us to the husband. As at that time, I was already in detention.”

Unidentified gunmen suspected to be militants struck again in Imuti and Igbogbi area of Ikorodu in Lagos state in the wee hours of today, June 24. The Nation reports that an unidentified man was murdered in front of his house at the Imuti area while other unconfirmed reports said scores were killed. According to an eyewitness popularly called Iya Ibeji, there was series of gunshots all through the night and also early in the morning.

“I heard series of gunshots while preparing Sari this morning. I also saw people from a nearby church through my window scampering for safety because they were doing a vigil before the chaos,” she said.

Iya Ibeji noted that the unidentified man who was killed, just moved to the area some weeks ago which is why no one knows his name. Another resident who pleaded anonymity said: “I am leaving this vicinity today. I don’t want a stray bullet to kill me and I don’t want these militants to invade my privacy and slit my throat like they have been doing.” Kolawole Amodu, another resident said he owns a land in the area and can’t move. “I did not rent so do I carry my house along. I will just continue to be prayerful and hopeful,” he said. Vanguard reports that suspected militants invaded Igbolomu and Ishawo areas in Ikorodu. Eyewitnesses who escaped from one of the invaded areas, said the gunmen from the Niger Delta came through water channel and started shooting sporadically.

OLUNLOYO FAMILY STATEMENT ON TOKUNBO ABODERIN’S ALLEGATION OF INCEST, PEDOPHILIA AND MURDER:

Dear Pressmen and women, Recently the internet went viral with a yoruba video of one Tokunbo Aboderin based in Dublin, Ireland raining curses on Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo for questioning and reporting investigative news about Nigerian celebrities. In the video, Ms Aboderin made reference to some horrific, slanderous and defamatory content accusing Kemi of being raped by her father His Excellency former Governor Victor Omololu Olunloyo. At the beginning of the video, she stated that he fathered her first son and by the end of the video she stated he fathered all her children. Ms Aboderin even mentioned a name presumed to be her first son’s name Eniola. Kemi has no child by that name. Ms Aboderin also went on to say that Governor Olunloyo impregnated a housemaid as well and the baby was drowned in a well by former First Lady Funlayo Olunloyo, something fixated in her imagination and did not happen in this lifetime. Ms Aboderin told her video audience that Kemi’s children were taken away from her in America for sexually abusing them and she has never seen them since.

It is a shame that epic vicious lies that this woman spewed in her video gave her the publicity she desperately needed. She opened a Whatsapp account today asking everyone to add her. A woman with a history of multiple personality disorder and rejected by so many even in her Dublin Ireland base. Ms Aboderin is NOT a relative of the Olunloyos as she stated in her video. She simply had an inappropriate relationship with Dr Victor Olunloyo in the early 80’s, something Aboderin tweeted and boasted about being his girlfriend. She now feels rejected and posts his phone number online as well as posted in 2015 that he was dead setting the internet on fire that day. The elite Aboderin family who founded the Punch newspapers are close family friends to the Olunloyos via their family church St David’s in Kudeti Ibadan. Aboderin boasts that the Aboderins and the Olunloyos are related. Meanwhile the sons and daughters of late Olu Aboderin of the Punch do not know Tokunbo Aboderin or who she really is? Kemi has never laid eyes on her or knows her as she claimed Kemi was expelled from secondary school for drug use. Kemi graduated St Teresa’s college Ibadan with honors and left for the United Kingdom at 14 right after. A staff at the New World psychiatric center in Ibadan said they have plead with her to come home and seek help but she refuses. They are bombarded with what she writes online about people. Ms Aboderin was kicked off Ms Olunloyo’s Facebook page in 2009 after Kemi defended her father’s political record and Ms Aboderin has been stalking her since with 36 Facebook pages. Several people reported those pages which she makes up with real people’s names including Akeem Kaka, Tope Victoria Mark and Naomi Oduntan all Nigerian Irish citizens who are suing her for defamation. Ms Aboderin has set up fake Go fund me accounts to pay for her legal fees and is living in public housing and receives government welfare money. Her two children from two men have tragic lives indirectly attributed to her. Her son died a destitute on the streets of Ibadan as she abandoned him and her son in law committed suicide after her daughter accused her of bullying him to death. Her mother also died in Ireland when she abandoned her in a nursing home according to authorities.

Ms Aboderin has a personality disorder that needs treatment right away. A multiple affective disorder which controls her psyche. She started the rumours online that Kemi has 4 children for 4 men, then changed it to 3 children for 3 men and now her father is the father of all the children accusing the elderly revered statesman of pedophilia and incest as well as his daughter. Kemi lived with her children in Canada so we don’t know how she wouldn’t have seen them again. Her children are adults who have been greatly offended by this vicious woman with no respect for this honorable family and no morals. Ms Aboderin also stated in her video that she wished someone could dismember Kemi and cut off her limbs and body, an occult and sadistic violent comment. Aboderin is known as a spiritual herbalist and blogger who many call a fetish individual with Ifa shrines in her dumpy Dublin apartment. We advise her to seek urgent help for her problems. The Olunloyo family have had their share of problems but this is one that needs to be addressed by an insane woman looking for attention. We pray for her to get well.

President Muhammadu Buhari appeared fit and healthy in office following his return from the United Kingdom to the country. President Buhari arrived on Sunday, June 19 after spending 13 days in the UK on a medical trip.

When he arrived in the country via the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport in Abuja, the president was asked how he was feeling and he replied that he was fine and even humorously challenged the reporter to a fight. “You have seen me. You saw me when I was going. You can do the assessment yourself. “I am okay. You can see me inspecting the guard of honour. You can see I am taller than you. Do you want to wrestle with me, you can do so.”

The president resumed office on Monday, June 20 and received the vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo in his office. The vice president had duly presided over the Federal Executive Council meeting twice in the absence of Buhari. Initially the trip was planned as a 10-day vacation. The medical check-up with an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist was scheduled for the president. However, the duration of Buhari’s stay was unexpectedly prolonged after his personal physician advised him to sought foreign doctors as a precaution. While in London, President Buhari was visited by Bola Tinubu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress.

One Dr. Bartum Kulah who is based in the US, has accused top actor Van Vicker of having an affair with his wife, Clarice Ford-Kulah. Although Clarice is said to be known as the actor’s manager and business partner, her husband said it’s all a facade. According to him:

“My wife will deny the accusations and claim to be his manager and business partner. That’s what she always says, it’s all a cover, and I’ve caught them at a hotel twice. She has been in Accra since Wednesday to Premiere a film, they will then go to Liberia to Premiere the same film next Saturday, not only that but sleeping with my wife any where they go. This is the second trip in a year. They have traveled to Haiti, Liberia, Nigeria, Ireland and multiple cities in the Continental US. I really have evidence to show that he is sleeping with my wife and even warned my wife on that but still they are doing it.

”It is a shame to Gollywood/Nollywood actor Van Vicker sleeping with people wives as he has married too. This is part one I will bring all the pictures, videos, I mean all the evidence out, if they refuse to stop, especially Van Vicker.”

He said they have married for long years with two children, but his wife do not care about the children, and all she knows is travelling with Van Vicker. The wife has however released a press statement, clarifying the issue. The statement goes thus :

A list which was said to be that of the richest Nigerian politicians allegedly published of the American Federal Bureau of Investigation, the FBI, has been making rounds online.

The names listed in the reports include: ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo, former Lagos state Governor, Bola Tinubu, former vice president Atiku Abubakar, former military head of state Ibrahim Babangida, former INEC chairman Attahiru Jega, Maina, Oransanye, Lamido, Talba, Alamyeisegha and Adamu Muazu.
However, investigations show that the picture is fake.

Below are five reasons why this report cannot be true:
1. If it is real, then where are the logos, dates of release and reference numbers?

2. Ally financial /Detroit is written in different font (compare with the rest of the ‘document’, other lines).

3. A dot after names and names of banks, and politicians. It makes no sense.

4. Huge number of errors: Citi group / new York – two errors, the official name is Citigroup, New York (two letters should be capital). Do you believe the FBI posts document with such huge number of typos?! The photo can be created by every person who has a computer and MS Excel, or similar software.

5. A publication refers to Amanpour Live show on CNN. The problem is, the video version of this show is nowhere to be found online. The conclusion is obvious, such video simply does not exist.

Photos showing the fleet of expensive cars, including Bentley, Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz, hidden in the green went viral in Nigerian social media. The authors of such posts claimed that Nigerian politicians who looted the Nigerian treasury were hiding their cars in the bush from the operatives of the Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). But could this be true? NAIJ.com investigated the case.

Nigerians have been actively sharing the set of photos with the caption: “This our politicians are heartless, OMG just imagine what they hide in the bush, fleet of expensive cars, with our common wealth, thank God for PMB.” The supporters of President Buhari’s war against corruption were set agog: “Incredible! There is no predicting what smart Nigerian criminals can do. Kudos to EFCC,”

Vincent T Yahuan wrote on Facebook. “No wonder they want PBM dead! May God continue to keep our President alive!” Olubunmi Ilori commented. “Wicked and heartless left us with blackout and hunger!!!” Fatima Yana Kingibe wrote. Surely, Nigerian looters may be hiding something. But not in this case. A simple online search shows the set of images was taken from an article about a car park full of abandoned vehicles in Chengdu, China.

The report about this unusual place went viral worldwide on June 6, 2016. Many of the cars are in the area for more than two years. Their owners cannot claim them back, as most of autos are involved in various ongoing criminal cases. Therefore, many of these cars might have been purchased for stolen money, but, surely, not with Nigeria’s funds.

1. Leading Nigeria to win AFCON 2013
Stephen Keshi led the Super Eagles to win the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa. Nigerian appeared at the 29th edition of the tournament as minnows. The team began the competition on a rather poor note with 1 – 1 draws against Burkina Faso and Zambia respectively, in their opening two games at the tournament. Nigeria defeated Ethiopia 2 – 0 in their final group game to proceed to the quarter final stage against the star-studded Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire. An Emmanuel Emenike freekick with a Sunday Mba strike gave the Keshi-led team a 2 – 1 win over the Ivorians. Nigeria defeated Mali in the semis and overcame Burkina Faso in the final to win the tournament for a third time. This feat confirmed Keshi as the second person to win the AFCON tournament as a player and coach, having also won it in 1994 as a player.

2. Stephen Keshi assisted many African players to move to Europe
Keshi played alongside Austin Eguavoen in California as the backbone of the defence for the short-lived Sacramento Scorpions. Chidi Nwanu, Odertey Lamptey, Okechukwu Ajah, Philip Osondu all played in Belgium with the influence of the ‘Big Boss’. Keshi also discovered many great players including Justice Christopher, Dele Ayenugba and Sunday Mba.

3. The issues that led to his sack as the Super Eagles coach
It would be recalled that in 2002 Keshi was assistant to Shuaibu Amodu when Nigeria qualified for the World Cup, but the pair were sacked and replaced by Adegboye Onigbinde before the showpiece in South Korea and Japan. The ex-international was re-appointed in 2011 and won the AFCON in 2013. He led the team reach the second round of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Keshi’s Super Eagles lost 2 – 0 to Le Blues of France in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the following day, the coach controversially announced his resignation, saying certain people were trying to “sabotage” him. By 2015, Keshi’s contract expired and citing lack to lack the required commitment to achieve the Federation’s objectives, the gaffer was relieved of his job.

4. First African coach to successfully qualify two African nations (Nigeria and Togo) to the World Cup Finals
The Big Boss led the Togolese national football team to an unprecedented qualification for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Having secured Togo’s unlikely qualification, he was promptly replaced by German coach Otto Pfister prior to the World Cup finals, after Togo showed a dismal performance and failed to advance to the knock-out stage in 2006 African Cup of Nations in Egypt. There was also a reported row with the Hawks captain Emmanuel Adebayor.

5. Passion for the Super Eagles
He was a key player of the Nigerian national team and appeared at the 1994 FIFA World Cup, played in five African Cup of Nations championships and was a part of the team when they won the 1994 African Cup of Nations. Despite being a defender, Keshi scored 9 goals for the national team in his 64 caps between 1982 and 1984. Having finished professional playing career, he got special coaching education in the USA and was appointed to manage the Super Eagles on three different occasions, which he later won in 2013.
