The NLC are a bunch of criminals, i cant believe the NUT will support them too. The teachers are clearly incompetent, how can NUT support such? NUT have no standard then. The teachers should just bury their heads in shame, they should keep quiet and reapply for the job if they know that they are qualified. I will never support mediocrity that will affect the intellect of young primary school students. NUT should set their standard and NLC should get out of here nobody will bribe them.

Bro which sheep are you pastoring? I honor God and just like David and solomon with 300 wives and concubines i fail in my flesh.... i think my failure in that aspect is the deity's way of saving me from long years of incompatibility and misery. Don't you see the hand of God in this?
You are suppose to live in the spirit as a christian not in the flesh. You are suppose to say no to things of the flesh. That is what make you a christian, what diffrentiate you from people of the world. The bible says without holiness no man can see God. So stop bragging about living in the flesh and claiming christianity. It's not healthy for new believers

The issue of menstrual health have been regarded as a taboo in our society, we found out that secondary school girls are poorly educated on this important health issues. We also discovered that some girls can barely eat twice daily and due to depressive economic situation cant afford to buy sanitary pads for their monthly period. To curb this trend The Sanitary Aid Initiative was birthed. We visit government secondary schools, sensitize them on good menstrual hygiene and give them sanitary pads for free

There are three sides to every story.
Your side
Her side
The truth.
And I am sure the truth must be very bitter. The only thing that can made the Nigerians I know to be this united to fight a person is not because the person is corrupt. It will be because the person is not corrupt. An average Nigerian is corrupt. Like extra income and this they won't sweat for. Why will they now fight a woman that allow it
Even though I don't know the whole story. But I heard the woman was fighting corruption in FMC Owerri and the affected people want her out. One question I will like anybody that believe this people are fighting for the truth to ponder on is that. If they are really people who value honesty and transparency, Why will they attempt to take her life and kill her daughter in the process?

Education / Re: Most Overhyped Courses In Nigeria, the FACT!!!! by crystalmi(f): 10:23pm On Aug 09, 2016
Asssmasher:
Well, the list below can't be 100% accurate or impeccable,so I stand to be corrected. If you notice a loophole, just pinpoint it out and admonish instead of beating around the Bush and throwing tantrums, if you do the latter,It's obvious you have no iota of sense.
Now, back to the matter!!
I've stated substantial rationales to back up my assertions.

(1)LAW:-An enlightened mind shouldn't be oblivious to the level of esteem placed on this course. Most people who pick this course in jamb only do so because of the prestige and follow the bandwagon without having no modicum of sensitisation nor awareness what it holds for them ultimately in Future.Actually, law was a hot a couple of decades ago at least, Most of 'em after the whole six years rigor(law school inclusive) settle down for all these mushroom firms with a very meagre pay(Gani's,festus' firm and d likes).Even d coporate firms hardly pays what an ordinary med lab intern earns. To get recruited into these coporate firm is tantamount to a camel trying to fit in into a needle's eye, despite the level of connection.A thread was created a year ago by a lady who was having a second thought about her making a mistake studying law.She was only being outspoken and venting her frustration, that which most fresh law graduates pass through nowadays. Most of our law colleagues back then who felt they're on top of the world because they were studying law are either doing charge n bail, roaming about aimlessly around CAC offices, working in these firms for little or no pay or seeking affidavits here and there. It's actually a nice course, but without connection, you're as good as useless regardless of how excellent your grades are.

(2)Medicine:-Yh,Yh grin most people will be stunned seeing this "Ethically noble* course on the list. But the fact stands,it's overhyped. Why do you think most docs are doing USLME exams just to leave this country
More reason NMA is always going on strike every now and then, fighting for allowances and taking to the street with placards after all the 9+years rigor.Even the residency primaries exams are conducted just to fail 'em.That's why we hardly have consultants nowadays, that which is the acme of d career, even a junior executive trainee in KPMG earns well above a consultant.More than 80% of docs aren't specialist,a lot are just trivial medical officers who earn just like any other civil servant with little or insignificant difference.Only national, neuropsychiatric and FMCs pay quite well for docs, same can't be said for the ones in maternity centres, private hospitals and state hospitals(who are even affected by d inability of d state to pay their workers). It's a course where you stress more than you deserve. To d jambites out there, think twice before going for it,even as a consultant, which has a very slim chance of becoming, all these small boys and girls who are marketers,ET or EA in reputable private firms will earn well above you as an entry level graduate.Except for the prestige, it's not much of a big deal at all.I have a couple of them as friends who have abandoned the medical profession to do MBA hoping to switch to the finance sector.

(3)Engineering :- I've collectively consolidated all the engineering courses under this canopy. Most of 'em only wish to work in oil companies and nowhere more, but the question is,How many of these companies recruit?Even the multinational ones like haliburton and Schlumberger with syndicates here in Nigeria hardly put out any vacancies, they may not denounce any vacancy in a couple of years. Is it computer science which you don't even need to study to know more about it than the graduates themselves?Or mech engineer where our automobile industry is as good as useless?Or chemical engineer where how manufacturing industry would rather sought the services of foreign technicians to these LA cram LA pour stereotyped minds? And many more?Engineering and geology graduates constitute d greatest percentage of the graduates faced with unemployment

(4)Accounting:-Mtcheew,you don't even need to study this course to work as an accountant in any reputable firm.in this present age where a fine art undergraduate can apply for professional exams like:CPA,ICAN or ACCA.Even all these private firms would prefer someone with a MBA cert to a person with first degree IN accounting to his CV.Even with your first degree In accounting,You stand no chance of landing Nice jobs without having any professional cert,so what's the big deal?

(5)Banking and finance:-You don't need to study this course to work in a bank, even as a full staff. Anyone can work in a bank. Anybody with a professional cert stands a better chance of getting recruited as a full staff than someone with a banking and finance degree who might better still get a contract job or worst,no Job at all.

I was a lil' bit hasty typing this.Forgive any grammatical blunder or contextual error.
Thank God at least Pharmacy is not dere. So my profession is not overhyped

I think this will be a lesson for Linda Ikeji not to conclude without investigation. She has edited all the post about the scam. But the damage has already been done. I love the way Bella Naija reported the story. That is what we call investigative Journalism. A journalist should be neutral and not criticize. It can affect public opinion. In all this I pray for Mayowa quick recovery. And pls Nigerians should keep donating to the needy. Whatever the outcome of this is, It should not deter them.

Wrong opinion anyway. I don't know about other private schools o. But Madonna University don't dash people first class. In fact we av more of third class in the school sef. You get what you deserve. If you deserve first class you will get it and we av very few. in some department none. So please cancel the misconception that all private schools dash out first class. Health / Re: You Are Not Doctors! Nigerian Man Who Nearly Died From Error Blasts Pharmacists by crystalmi(f): 9:56pm On Jul 10, 2016
Silvofitz:

In our teaching hospital, a foremost teaching hospital in Nigeria, pharmacists dispense drugs as prescribed by the doctors.
No pharmacist changes doctor's prescriptions.
Nurses are better placed to call the attention of the doctor, if any error is perceived on the prescription, because they a privy to the patient's medical history through the case file, and Because they have a booklet called Nursing Process, which contains all the information they collect from the patient by clerking. The Nurses assess, diagnose, set the objective, plan, and implement the treatment, then evaluate the outcome of the treatment. So, by virtue of intimate interaction with patient, they can notice the need for a change in prescription.
In a standard setting, it's the Nurses, not the pharmacists, that often call the attention of doctors to changing prescription. And, even at that, the nurses would not change the prescription on their own. They would call the attention of the Doctor.
You know what? I will not honor u with an argument, because I can see you are ignorant on all levels about the pharmacy profession. I guess u don't even know what is called Clinical Pharmacist, Google it. Google will help u know more. But next time, don't talk if you are ignorant of something.

I do not get the aim of this topic is nairaland now promoting the rift between medicals and paramedicals ..

Who are the paramedicals? Pharmacist are not paramedicals they are professionals. And they work together with doctors as a team. No one is superior to the other, it is just different professional duties.

Yes, Pharmacist are not Doctors, But when it comes to drug, they are an expert better than doctors, even doctors respect them. Doctors are expert in diagnosis and treatment modification, but require the help of a pharmacist to know contraindications and adverse effects of some drugs, thereby ask for advice, so they work as a team. One can't do without the other. Thank God for saving ur life, But a doctor can make the same mistake as the pharmacist that attended to u did. In my years of working in the hospital I have seen patient who reacted to drugs because of wrong diagnosis or lack of appropriate diagnosis which happened in your case. Next time you are been diagnosed by a doctor, pharmacist or any medical professional remember to tell them your past medical history.

We should not be quick to judge because of what Uche Nnaji said. How did you expect the guy to cope without transportation and feeding money? Training him is okay, But what will he learn on an empty stomach? I think he should have arranged a monthly stipend of about 15000- 20000k for him to manage with, Pending the time he will start earning his own money from the work he learned. The only thing in that guy head is daily bread for now, and I think if you have ever been poor you will know that hunger may not allow you think right. I think Uche Nnaji should have done that. If you take away food from someone's problem you have solve half of it. I think this is a lesson for people that want to help people.
