It is no wonder why the super-eagles walked over the world cup qualifier ''group of death'' like it was nothing. With a couple of more decent additions especially in defence and midfield, and an above average technical coaching crew, I dare say we could do something decent in Russia. |

What happened to the likes of agbonlahor, and Jordan ibe that dumped Nigeria for England and how many matches did they get to play for the 3 lions? With the likes of rashford, kane ahead of him and still young, what chance does he have? |

AK481: getting to 3 years now in power, buhari has never visited a full (south east)geo political zone in nigeria.
buhari and APC why? There is no problem in that. As long as he is not expecting even a single vote from the south-east in 2019. The problem now is the Igbo penchant for selfish individualism, where some people try to betray the common good. In a normal scenario, buhari should not get even a single Igbo vote in 2019, unfortunately some 5% are still going to vote for him. |

professorPABX: You are very wrong, extremely wrong. The inability of the South to have a common stand caused by the Igbos is the major problem.
The National Assembly cannot address the marginalization & exploitation of the South. The National Assembly is a parliament established by an ordinance of democracy. In late 1998, a member of one of the power mafia groups in the north was discussing the issue of power shift to the South with his friend, the friend was not comfortable, he quickly reminded him that ' Democracy is a game of population'. That made the friend to relax. There was a problem structurally with Nigeria. The North works as a body at the National Assembly when it comes to the issue of exploitation of the resources in the South. The North does not having anything on the table for discussion. All the conferences (OBJ & GEJ), they (north) went there to fight & defend their survival on the resources of the south using their population as a tool.
The composition of National Assembly based on democracy theorem of Population already placed North on edge. The National Assembly is not balanced. The combined unity & single stand of the south is what can free the South. If the South is united, in 2015, those bogus votings in Kaduna, Kano & Jigawa would have been rejected by the South, it can create problem, by now, we would have gone our separate ways.
The ibo elders did not help matters. The information & propaganda passed to the youth have aggravated the situation. It was only Ojukwu & later GEJ (for GEJ it was very late) that realised that they need the Yorubas more than it appears, the National Assembly is a wastage of time. The foundation of Nigeria as a structure is corrupt. Shut the fucck up, you liar. When the rest of the south stood with Jonathan , where was the SW? When the rest of the south stood with OBJ, where was the SW? You want to claim southern solidarity when it suits you? You no well at all. Go and ask your elders to tell you your real story. They obviously lied to you. |

Bagehot: I really dont like arguing here cos I realized that a majority here are not learned people, but occasionally seek to educate those who really want to learn. In public finance, it is not a virtue to say you are not owing, as you are only short-changing yourself and not optimizing your cash-flow. The whole idea is that saying you would live within your N100 per annum is poor finance, when you can accomplish projects worth N160 per annum, repay the deficit N60 over a long term of say 10 years, and in the meanwhile improve the economic outlook of your state in improving its productivity in such a way that justifies the loan you have taken.
Where public debt becomes a problem is when you borrow and embezzle practically the entire loan, borrow unsustainably such that you run bankrupt in a few years, or borrow at ridiculous rates perhaps using the wrong instruments (i.e financing infrastructure spending with bank loans at 23% instead of bonds at say 8%). Public debt in a third world country is a big deal. How has lagos justified her huge debts.? Is lagos no longer one of the worst cities in the world? Does she now have world class drainage, education, infrastructure, healthcare, airports, seaports, e.t.c. courtesy of her huge debts? Lagos debts is bigger than the entire south-east. And that does not bother you when lagos itself is nothing to write home about even with the humongous IGR. |

Anambra state has better educational indices than lagos state. Even healthcare too. Lagos is a shitt-hole. She ranks very low in many national indices aside from churning out huge IGR from foreign investors who have no better option anyway. What is lagos doing with her money? |

To show that lagos debt is not just a product of high infrastructure investment, osun state comes to mind. Osun state is a backward state with one of the highest local and foreign debts. Just like lagos, she is governed by Yoruba kleptomaniacs from the APC. What do both states have in common? They are Yoruba governed and under the APC. |

What has two Igbo indviduals who made decisions based on the political realities of their day got to do with this? Atleast they made things happen. They took the bulls by the horn and caused a change. Awolowo was there and couldn't do shitt for restructuring even when he was in the corridors of federal power. If you think yorubas can lead the cause for restructuring, you are deluded. Anyway. Goodluck. But don't count on a joint political action with the South-east. Once beaten , twice shy. Gaddafithe2nd: That is the problem I have with Putin, clamping down on oppositions. But he is clamping down on corrupt officials, the Oligarchs that brought him to power have all fled Russia because he couldn't down to their tunes. I watched one video where he questioned one contractor that abandoned a project. Putin himself is highly corrupt. Corruption cannot fight corruption. The best you can have is a selective corruption fight just like what obtains under buhari. The day Russia becomes truly democratic like the united states where the rule of law has no respect for persons or positions, that is when Russia begins its real fight against corruption. It is by far the largest country in the world by land area with humongous resources, yet they are among the poorest per capital in Europe and their economy is shrinking. |
