Daninya11: Same thing happened to me, I almost blew my chances of getting a resounding 1st class. My supervisor was like Steve, this is not the real you. Even when I got the A's, it was not resounding and full of depth. I just wrote back what I was taught and that was unlike me... He marked 2 of the courses and he was absolutely right..
Women can complicate things... Strange indeed. All the people I knew that came out with first class were all virgins, very focused and strange. The only time I decided to flow with the crowd saw my CGPA crash like dominoes, but for divine destiny that ensured I came out with nothing less than a strong first class. |

Idrismusty97: Once your 100lv is not so good then say goodbye to first class. You must have nothing less than a 4.0 CGPA in your first year or even a 5.0. Although they are some exceptional case of 3.0 making it to first class. You can't have a 2.0 or second class lower in your first year and be hoping for first class, Never! No matter how hard you work, the real work is done in your first year.
And drop all those "Grace of god, Relationship with god" blah blah mentality. Even those who graduate with certificate of attendance have a so called personal relationship with god. Nigeria is 99% religious, everybody must have prayed for first class . 100 level has the lowest percentage. A candidate with a poor result in 100 level still has a decent chance of making a first. I know people in my engineering faculty who started making first class grades only when they got to 300 level and still came out with first class. My friend had a 3.3 in his 100 level and still graduated as the best student in his mechanical engineering set with a CGPA of 4.63. It takes exceptional hardwork to recover like that though. |

I don't think internship carry grades in Nigerian universities nowadays btw. I remember my undergraduates days with some measure of awe and the fact that I almost threw away years of hardwork in my 400 because of a semester fling with a girl My CGPA after 400 level fell from 4.73 to 4.44. And I cried my heart out. It was the fear of what I was going to tell my father who was expecting a first class that made me read like a mad man in 500 level final year. And I made a 5.0 in my finals coming out with a resounding first class. |

Russia can only bark in cases like this. Not every country in Europe is ''invade-able'' by Russian forces. Turkey is covered by NATO. I am sure putin would not want to unravel the Pandora box. I don't really like turkey as a country, but then, allying yourself with America has some benefits. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Turkey Shoots Down Russian Jet Near Syrian Border by CSTR2: 5:28pm On Nov 24, 2015 |
mazeltov: Yes you have a point. It seems you have turn Biafra to your God when it cannot be used in an argument to describe an event. See how you have enslaved your mentality. Stop trying to be foolish. Nigeria is a more apt description of a weak country, Biafra is not even a country yet. Taking cheap pot-shots at Biafra will not make your arguments intelligent. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Turkey Shoots Down Russian Jet Near Syrian Border by CSTR2: 3:01pm On Nov 24, 2015 |
mazeltov: which protest? Lolzz. Please be guided accordingly, Turkey is not like Biafra here in Nigeria oo or probably you are thinking Turkey is like ISIS that Russia can just bomb anytime. Every nation has the right to protect its airspace. Nigeria has the right to shot down any american Jet that violates our airspace. Contrary to your opinion, Even Russia wouldn't make any mistake of attacking Turkey just because they think that Nato is divided - An attack on Turkey is an attack on United state and every Nato country which violated article 5 of 1949 Nato treaty. You should be ashamed for bringing Biafra a Nigerian occupied territory into this discourse. If biafra had its independence since 1967 with its initial promise, I would put a lot more trust in it defending my airspace than Nigeria. Nigeria can't even stop Chadian airforce from violating its airspace. |

InvertedHammer: / It proves one thing...
Africans are closer to baboons than humans. We celebrate things that real humans take for granted. Things like electricity(up NEPA!), good roads, clean water and not the least, conceding a lost election.
I really want to read from the folks who honestly believe that Blacks are not monkeys.
All these Igbo folks prancing around for GEJ, SE roads and 2nd River Niger bridge after eight years of GEJ tell you how much he cared about your sorry behinds. Supporting a failure to alienate the center will only make matters worse. And if your hope is Biafra, it ain't gonna happen.
Igbo people and Nigeria politics is like water and oil. Even US negotiates with her mortal enemies (eg. Iran) to protect US interests in the region. It is not about right, wrong, love or hate people! It is about interests. But this is one aspect of politics that Igbo people failed to understand. In political considerations, nobody gives a flying fvck about sentiment.
/ And you suddenly believe buhari presidency makes all the difference? Buhari presidency of at most eight years is definitely not the end. There is nothing wrong in despising a politician. The north hated jonathan afterall and voted him out. Igbos too will survive buhari's presidency |

MrAboki: Hahahahahahahahaha.
Bayelsa politicians are sooooooooooooo stewpiid.
Those wrappers are brand new. Bought and paid for by the Politician and his party. This is the stupidest gimmick they could think up.
Those wrappers do not belong to no Bayelsa women. Sad part is when that slowpoke finishes walking on them, they would now share it to those poor women for votes.
No wonder Jonathan was such a dullard. He never stood a chance. His dullardity was in his destiny by reason of place of birth.
Prophet Isa must be in shock at this level of iidiiocy Coming from an abokii , I think that is a bit rich. Atleast, bayelsa and co don't require 4% to enter unity schools. Your abokki president just cancelled PRESSID because his people can't cope. The same programme a bayelsa man created and sponsored. |

BLINGZ88: I know that i am not a military analyst, but if usa, russia, china and nato should go to was with each other, i can bet that before russia goes down, they will be a nuclear show down and usa will lose 80% of it citizen while russia will lose like 60%. And there goes the world economy. And the hypothesised nuclear winter(which i dont believe). I will be in my small village planting cocoa yam and yam. A nuclear war between the US and Russia would come down to who has the best anti-nuclear defence systems. The US has enough nukes to destroy the world, let alone, russia, and most of them would penetrate Russian defences. The Russians on the other hand would get MOST of their own nukes shot down in Poland, and Germany before they even leave Europe. There is no way Russia would survive a nuclear war with the US. |

holyfather: which hammer this right here is why we are still the "third world",cockroach mentality. it's time for Africa to wake up from that horror dream! it's no fun! Africa is a shitthole with no protective cover whatsoever. Russia a second world country is suffering the effects of crossing the US, let alone Africa. The time to play a strong game with the US is not now. Develop your country to a point of self-sufficiency and prosperity, then you can talk. China did not started acting strong until they became truly strong. For now, any sanctions the US inflicts on Africa would send the continent back to the stone age. That is the bitter truth. |

OnReflection: You would wipe that grin off your face, once you've had acquainted yourself with some useful knowledge which goes beyond the pedestrian comparison tendered above.
Unfortunately, as I have not the time nor the wherewithal to take the seeing-blind and hearing-deaf to school, today; you will have to make do with a paper published by one of the most respected Public Policy think tanks in the United States: Top Five Reasons Why Africa Should Be a Priority for the United States -- http://www.brookings.edu/research/reports/2013/04/africa-priority-united-states
You can thank me later... I am just seeing this now. And yes, I read the article and it was focused on America keeping a strong hold on Africa to prevent terrorism in Africa from snowballing into America, and also to get a greater hold on resources and the huge consumer base. These reasons definitely does not make Africa a threat whatsoever to the US, the way china is. It only highlights the fact that Africa is a baby that needs to be watched and sometimes exploited since she can't use her resources herself. You are out of your depth here. God bless America. |

OnReflection: First the threat to impose economic sanctions on South Africa (President Barack Obama is threatening to impose trade sanctions on South Africa for blocking imports of meat from the United States) and now this expression of disquiet?
Clearly, Africa's economic renaissance poses a direct threat to the hegemonic interests of the United States. Africa pose no threat whatsoever to the US. The combined African GDP is just at $2.0 trillion compared to a single US state of carlifornia with a GDP of $2.3trillion . The US provided a forum called the AGOA for african countries to export their products to the US as a means of helping them. South Africa decided to play smart by eating her cake and having it at the same time, and the US threatened to drop the hammer and they would be in the right. |
