If your parents dealt with you very harshly based on your teenage mistakes, your life would have turned out very different.

It will actually end in regret if she takes him to the UK. If in Nigeria, he can easily forget his grandparents and mother (even when she was sick) and went to be with a man that denied him when he was born, imagine taking him to the UK where children misbehave and there is really nothing you can do.
