[s][s][quote author=ThinkSmarter post=104458780]The different between IPOB/ESN and BokoHaram/Bandits/Killerherdsmen. Disclaimer: I'm neither an IPOB member nor their sympathizer. But I stand for the sociopolitical emancipation of my people in g[s][/s] civil/diplomatic way, other than war/conflict. IPOB are secessionists who are agitating for an independent State of Biafra in the old Eastern Nigeria. IPOB with their militia wing ESN caused upheaval and tension in the South East and Neighbouring South South Region. They went agog killing some policemen, setting some police stations and some INEC offices on fire. In their bid to cajole the Nigerian State to bow to their demand. This made the Nigerian government to converge urgent security meeting that led to the upward review of the Security threat posed by the Secessionists to the integrity of the country. The subsequent change in security code level by the government led to the neutralization of the uprising. This robust tackling of the activities of the the ESN exposed the government's game of ostrich in addressing the overall insecurities in the various parts of the country. The truth is that Nigeria have the capacity to tackle the various internal security threats but are just not willing to tackle the reformed Boko Haram, banditry. Maybe, the government in power is taking it likely with them probably because they are the president's kinsmen. Or maybe, the top officers in military hierarchy and the top politicians are jeopardizing the war against the insurgency, taking undue advantage of the insecurities to cash out, as their salaries alone won't be enough for them to acquire properties in Dubai like the politicians are doing. The military officers want to live large like the senators. To those outside the East, they thought maybe IPOB/ESN was an over hyped militia group. No, they are not over hyped . It's just that the government was committed in their case , cause they felt that IPOB activities are threat to the source of money (oil). Their overwhelming threat made the Nigerian government to wanting to yield to the demands of the secessionists at a point but restricted Biafra to only the five SouthEast states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states. And that was when the derogatory remark of "a dot in a circle" came about. They wanted a Biafra like Swaziland, a country surrounded by South Africa. And that was when the Igbo Elites rose up to say we are not part of Kanu's Biafra. Since the Niger Delta minority tribes are showing a body language that they can't be under Igbo dominance. And the government is also selling their own propaganda that Niger Delta should not succumb to Igbo dominated country. And that was when the likes of Wike and other Ikwere leaders were conspired to say that Ikwerres are an independent ethnic group with no Igbo ancestry. Edwin Clark and Co started distancing themselves from the Kanu led Biafra. The People of AkwaIbom were not left out in expressing their stand on the proposed Biafra. They said, they are rather going to form their own Ibom Republic instead of being in a country where they will be politically dominated by the larger Igbo ethnic group. And that was also same time when Asari Documbo, the government enemy was lobbied by the same enemy, the government to help them to neutralize Kanu's influence in the Niger Delta. In essence, Divide and rule was applied to the old Eastern Nigeria in order to create disunity among the old Eastern Nigeria tribes. The truth is that if Biafra should be granted referendum in the future. The New Country can only be restricted to the five SE states as the Nigerian Delta people are not willing to join the Igbos. Everyone wants to be on his own. Everyone eye Don open. Everything is business including humans lives. It's all part of modern day business/politics. But in all of the activities of the Unknown gunmen, the masses of the SEast were not harassed by the unknown gun men. Though some elites, politicians were targeted by the unknown gun men. Though many politicians, cultists, criminals etc took advantage of the chaos to get back at their enemies, either the police or fellow businessman /politician. Whereas Boko Haram are Islamic fundamentalists that are mostly of Kanuri ethnic nationality with foreign backing advocating for a Sharia country within the Lake Chad Basin. Bandits on the other hand are Islamic militia from the Sahel (Niger, Chad, Mali, etc) with some locals that were recruited by politicians to play political games. But after the game, they realized that Nigeria is rich and is good for business. They then conspired with the few evil elites from the North who are mostly government officials, village heads to start kidnapping for ransom. The elites gives them cover and logistics. In simple terms, Bandits are Criminals hired by politicians to steal from the government since technology and eagle eyes are posing a threat to looting. Unfortunately, most of the political elites have an Alhaji religious titles. They send their wards to the best schools in Europe and America to read Engineering, Medicine, Economics and Architecture. While the common man are sent to Egypt for Arabic and Islamic studies. Most Northern states have refused to enforce free and compulsory education for their people. Cuz, they want to keep them perpetually uninformed/gullible and turn them to potential foot soldiers for their political games. The government didn't see the activities of Bandits and Boko Haram as threats to their interests. As the activities of the group were restricted to the rural areas and doesn't have the audacity to attack state capitals and strategic towns unlike unknown gun men that had the audacity to attack state capitals, police headquarters and even dared the barracks. Maybe, to them, bandits are just mere business men that kidnap for ransom, doesn't pose a threat to the unity and integrity of the country. We know them, they are our boys. They will stop when we want them to. They are only after soft targets (the rural /semi urban areas) where the low class lives. But the truth of the matter is that the actions of the bandits are really affecting the socioeconomic development of the areas they operates. The elites are evil and can do anything for money. Know this truth :There is absolutely no way a group of Foreign Criminals will occupy either in the forests or villages/towns within any of the Nigerian 774 LGAs without the locals knowing about it. The locals are among the gangs of criminals/businessmen terrorising North Western Nigeria. This is what you get when you denounce western civilization that makes one to mentally adjust to the sociopolitical developments of the modern world. Instead of Islamic civilization that makes one to be very conservative and stuck in the medieval era and develop extremism towards people that are liberals. Nigeria has the capacity to tackle the insecurities in the country. In all states of Nigeria, there is at least an army barrack, some have it with Naval barrack. The Commander in Chief is just lenient with the Bandits cause he felt they are his siblings. We are all hypocrites, both the North and South. When Jonathan intensified military offensive against BokoHaram prior to 2015 general elections after he was labeled clueless and incompetent, the North started shedding crocodile tears, that Jonathan is killing the North with Christian soldiers and all kind of propaganda. Same thing played out in the South of recent, when Unknown gun men were killing policemen and soldiers, some people were calling them Saint unknown gun men. But when the government special forces started killing them, our people started shedding their crocodile tears, they are committing genocide against us.... We all understand the game. But this game won't allow us to build a Country of our dream for our selves and for our children. Until, all tribal and religious sentiments stop influencing governance, we will actualise our potential as a country and as a people. Hear the truth, the Whites, Asians are miles ahead of us in so many development indices. They are talking about colonising other planets. They are talking of 5G . They are talking of artificial intelligence and robotics. They are talking electric vehicles. They are talking drive less vehicles. They are talking green energy and climate change. French , German, Russian, English, Dutch, etc are all white tribes, they have learnt their very bitter lesson after the two world wars and have learnt to do away with their differences and formed European Union, NATO and UN. All in their bid to forestall future conflicts and wars. But, here in Africa, we are still stuck with medieval lifestyle of fighting intertribal wars. Either it's Fulani against Igbo or Yoruba against Igbo, or Ijaw against Itsekiri or Tiv against Idoma or Bini against Urhobo. We are still stuck with defending an invisible creator-deity We are still stuck with denying people's opinions/freedom of speech. We are still stuck with getting primary needs of clothing, food and shelter. Black African tribes, need to shun all their differences, unite and rise towards actualising her potential. In order to take their place in the New World coming. [\quote] |

prekumohtim:Yes because they have subverted the authority of Christ. They have made themselves Lord. " One of them once said: " if you want my grace to work for you, you must bribe my angels". These are the enemies of the cross; they are wolves in sheep clothing, parading as servants of God; the are robbers. Should we fold our hands and watched them lead many to eternal destruction? Look, we must call them out where the erred. They have made the gospel of Christ of non effect. Look at we call Church today? It no where near the new testament Church The Church has engulfed itself in a rut and rot and is heading toward the "dark age". Unbelievers only laugh and have wrong perception of Christianity, because we are only Christians on Sunday's and worldly other days. Our lives are the opposite of what we preach; we are sometimes more worldly than the world. Where is the position of the Church in the world today? |
Christ has little or no authority in the Church today. He has been reduced to an ordinary symbol. "All hail the power of Jesus name" is the Church's anthem and the Cross her national flag. But in the day-by-day conduct of her members and in the week -by- week services, some one makes the decision and not Christ. Under proper condition, he is allowed to exercise a little authority, and thereafter pushed back to a corner. Yet Christ is consulted by increasing numbers of persons with "problems" and sought after by those who long for peace of mind. He is widely recommended as a kind of spiritual psychiatrist with remarkable powers to straighten people out. He is able to deliver them from their guilt complexes and to help them to avoid serious psychic traumas by making a smooth and easy adjustment to society and to their own ideas. Of course this strange Christ has no relation whatever to the Christ of the New Testament. The true Christ is also Lord, but this accommodating Christ is little more than the servant of the people. Can you recall how many times Christ has the final say in Church board meetings? Or Church programs? Rather, He is always called upon to bless our agenda and plans. Even when the scripture is quoted, it is quoted and used wrongly. His Lordship are only sang from the Church hymnals, but in practice, it no where to be found. So called "GO'S" and "men of God" have replaced Him. They run the show, while he watches. We run our lives and it will be a crime, if He interferes. Where is the position of Christ in your life? Is He your Lord and Savior or just a symbol? Jesus Christ is not just a Savior, but Lord. |

Is Buhari aware of what he just said? I don't think so. On a more serious note, he just told us the truth about himself. No wonder he is a colossal failure. How can a man without a WAEC certificate rule a complex entity as Nigeria? |

HottieCoach:Yes. You can only get information from such books, but in comparison to how the world has advanced technologically, they are irrelevant. |
HottieCoach:Books that are less relevant or completely irrelevant. |
Does he mean library with outdated books? Who studies outdated books? Currently in the developed country, they have virtual library with latest editions and free internet access. Making use of their library isn't cumbersome. Unlike Nigeria where the virtual library is an audio one and the outdated library, a prison. |

What should we do with this news? Fruitless meeting. |
I came across this story on Facebook and my heart was really broken. Man inhumanity to his fellow man. Kindly read! I receive more than 1,000 letters and mails every month, at office. All of these letters and mails pass through my own hands. I stay up all nights reading and responding. After my promotion. I had to move into a new office and take over some special duties, coupled with the ones I have already. I saw written letters that were dumped somewhere inside the new office which no one has opened nor touched. I wondered how the letters got there. The envelopes used for the letters were very dusty. About nineteen letters from the same person. It has same name. Same phone number. Same address. Same request. And same handwriting. When our cleaners wanted to dispose them, I told him to bring them for me. I opened and read one. It was a letter written to the accounts and finance department of our company by a labourer in November 2019. The letter was a request. The worker was humbly requesting the head of accounts department to pay him, that he is critically sick and needs the money for urgent treatment. In the letter, he stated that he had hepatitis which affected his liver. I read the second letter. It was the same request. Looking at the letters, one will know that it was written with tears. The drops of tears were still visible on it, since the letters were inserted in an envelope. I read the third letter and saw the same thing. I read the fourth letter and it was still the same request. He has been writing and sending in letters since November 2019 and the last letter there was written on 10 August 2020, which the writer stated that the accounts department should have mercy on him and his family and unblock his line and answer his calls. It was confusing. Who blocks people's lines here? I decided to call. I used my phone and dialed the number on one of the letters I was holding, which was the last letter written on 10 August 2020. It ranged. No one picked. I dialed it again. It ranged again. Someone picked. I spoke first. “Hello,” I said, “Good afternoon.” “Good afternoon.” a female voice answered. It was the voice of a middle aged woman. I told her my name and where I was calling from. She kept quiet. I told her that I am calling to speak with the person who bears the name on the letters. She started sobbing over the phone. “He is lying down here.” She cried. “Who?” I asked to reaffirm. “The person you want to speak with.” “Can I speak with him, please?” “He can't talk again. He is only breathing. He can't move. He doesn't even know that someone is sitting beside him. I am his wife. We have been writing letters and calling but you people said we should not disturb you people again. Our lines was blocked. His money was withheld. We sent people to you people's office but they came back with nothing.” She cried, “We are just waiting for him to go and rest.” I couldn't say a word. I was just dropping tears because of the way she spoke. She continued. “He is dieing day by day. The person receiving our calls and letters threatened us not to write or call again. My husband have been a worker in you people's company for more than seven years. He laboured there. He worked as if the work was his life. He didn't miss any day even when he was sick. But see how he has been abandoned. What has he done to deserve this treat? God sees everything. We have been going around to ask for money but no one wants to help. We have to leave town and return to the village. No money to treat him. No money to eat. No money to pay rent. I spent my business money and nothing...” She sobbed. I guess there was an error somewhere. Maybe something I am not aware of was or is happening. The company I work for are not known for this. I asked her their village and home address. She told me. I went there. A village between Kano and Kaduna. I lost my way a number of times before getting to their house. I saw the man. He was lying down on a mat in front of their house. The wife was sitting next to him on the mat. She was chasing flies around him. She just finished cleaning him up in front of that place. He was looking dried and tired. No emotion. No movement. He can't talk. He can't hear. His eyes were just open, as it gradually rotates. A middle aged man. At his early fifties. The sickness have taken the greater part of him and has left him dropping tears bit by bit which his wife was constantly cleaning. I guess he noticed that an external body was there. I don't know him nor when he was working with us. I don't also think it was only the sickness the wife told me that brought him down to that state. What I saw was more than liver disease. I and the wife spoke, as she cried, saying; “Even if he dies today, I am already comforted. He needs to go and rest. He has suffered a lot. Maybe, I will join him later. I have nothing else. I just came to this world to bury people I love.” I left there with tears. When I got home, I sent foodstuffs and beverages from my house to them because I had no money with me. I spoke to my own boss about the man. I also met the head of accounts department who has been approving the man's salary every month but the accountant in charge was not sending it down to him, since he noticed the man was not coming to ask for it. He was taking it. He was also close to the man, so the letters and calls were going directly to him. The man was using him as a middle man to reach the head of accounts. My pain arose more when I found out they were both from the same community. He has been signing and collecting the man's money for about two years now. He was arrested and charged. He payed off the money in a day from his life savings. He was then suspended. But I have made an enemy for myself. An enemy that doesn't know that he is an enemy to himself. Two of our Directors visited the man and his wife. He was admitted into the hospital last weekend. This morning. I received a call. It was the man's wife. Her voice choked on the phone. She was sobbing. Bitterly. She then spoke. “Thank you so much. Thank you so much for fighting for my husband. Thank you so much for your efforts. At least I heard his voice again. He smiled at me. He has gone to be with the Lord. God bless you, Sir.” I wrote my previous post after the news came. July 21, 2021. Emmanuel Noble Okereke Kano, Nigeria. This is Sad indeed!! |

Workch:For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved, it is the power of God For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost. In whom the god's of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God should shine unto them |
