Don Oms: Cuddlemii, Didn't quite understand the mistake nor the correction; either way, I'm still motivated. But going through the new result, Number 9 and 56 have the same scores and you picked 9 as the 20th position. I think both should be in or something
Please hold.

I am working something out, we are going to accommodate 25 contestants.

How do you mean? Both contestants, 50 and 51 qualified.

We deleted two columns because we had just 4 judges, instead of 6 as planned. Probably, that's where the confusion is.

Piresg24: The Storm

A thick cloud appeared
In communion it gathered
Ready to bequeath its due to mother earth
Rumbling of thunder I heard
The sun disappeared into the thick cloud
Behold,a thick darkness I saw
The cheerful croud turned sore and fled
Like a melting ice before the sun
All,men and women,young and old
Engaged theirs legs on a marathon
Off to their abode
Away from the menacing storm
Streets become lonely
Market places deserted
Farmland waited in vain without any to till
The whirlwind blew
The forest trees danced in awe
Heavenly dues like a tsunami descended on earth
Roofs eloped from houses
Dancing to the rhythm of the wind
Flood crept into houses
Displacing man of habitation
Indistinct voices I heard saying
Oh! Our fields oh! Our buildings
For how long?
When shall this nightmare end?
When shall be the dawn of a new day?
I woke up from my deep sleep
Behold,it was a sunny day and I smiled
because it was but a dream.
Please have you read the rules and regulations?

LiteratureRe: Nairaland's "The Poet" Competition Season 2 by Cuddlemii(op):
Thanks for your submission.

For the ones that adhered to the rules, I commend you. smiley

For the rest of us that are defaulting cheesy, I hope we know the implication of submitting through only one medium, and disregarding the other? It is simple, no grades! Thanks for partially participating though grin

PS- I have received 31 emails only. This doesn't tally with what we've received on NL.

I just received an email from you?

Please, could you submit a copy on the official thread, get a number for yourself.

Afterwards, resend the email

Thanks.

sugarcoatted: Cuddlemii its August already, how much longer would the waiting last?
My dear, it's not possible this year. That's why I edited my post sometime ago. I'd probably do it next year in August. If its possible to do it before then, I'd let you know.

I have a lot on my plate, I am currently doing an intense, and condensed advance degree. I am also working on some certifications. I no longer enjoy the flexible time I once enjoyed. That being said, I am presently working on the poetry contest, if you'd like to participate. That is my last activity for this year.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Has Manmustwac Been Sacked? by Cuddlemii: 11:36pm On Aug 08, 2013
toba: kai Seun Osewa don hurt many pple.

debosky used to be a supermod and cuddlemi used to moderate Literature section
Actually he didn't hurt me. I just don't want my name mentioned in bullshit.
I don't have the tolerance for such, especially when I don't disrespect him like that. The priority here is his issue with Manmustwac, and not me, Odunnu, or msdarkskin.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Has Manmustwac Been Sacked? by Cuddlemii: 11:21pm On Aug 08, 2013
Seun: It's unfortunate that the removal of manmustwac has been upsetting to you folks. Clearly he was a beloved moderator. I apologize for my role in his removal. However, manmustwac knew exactly what was going to happen when he made that threat. He saw what happened to MsDarkSkin, Odunnu, & Cuddlemii. I think he deserves at least as much blame for his role in this situation. Moreso he hasn't asked me to reinstate him.
Seun, what exactly has my name got to do with this section? What has my name got to do with whatever it is that you have going on with Manmustwac? I don't see the connection! How does my name resolve the issue at hand?

One would think that as the world is evolving, people would learn to act appropriately, and professionally.
Whatever problem you guys are having, could have been resolved without having to mention or drag names into it.

The next time you to chose to go down memory lane, you'd better share the full story of what truly transpired, and not the remix or revised standard version you guys fed the moderators, on the moderator's section.

Please desist from mentioning my name in crappy things like this. I treat you with respect, and I expect you to reciprocate. For the sake of peace, I repeat please leave my name out of this, and deal with the issue.
Thank you!

REMINDER

Everyone has worked really hard; and invested so much time in this. Please let's avoid careless mistakes. You have been instructed to submit just ONE/1 poem. Failure to do so is at your own risk.

For those of you that submitted on Nairaland, and failed to submit a copy via email, that is a very risky move. Do not complain if you are omitted or disqualified. Do the right thing by following simple instructions, and make this a productive experience.

Thanks
LiteratureRe: Nairaland's "The Poet" Competition Season 2 by Cuddlemii(op):
Okay here's the situation... I am very busy at the moment with projects and all.
I'd be free from the 12th. That explains the rationale behind the initial start date of the competition.

However, I have explained the rules continuously.
I have posted pictures, steps, etc. The submission date has been shifted forward.
I don't expect anyone to have any difficulties.
It is evident that some of us are not reading the instructions provided.
It is quite simple! Submit your poem on the official thread, number the poem, and email a copy(with your number in the subject line) to nairalandpoets@yahoo.com.

Why is it important to submit a copy via email?
-To make grading easier for the Judges.
-So they can judge based on the content, and not the username.
-It is very possible to get distracted with the number of likes, comments, and other influences.
-A sober environment is what they need.

Why is it important to submit on Nairaland?
-To satisfy your audience.
-For transparency i.e. if you qualify, there is evidence that your poem merited it.

When would the scores be out?
Read the time table posted on the submission thread. smiley

I hope this clarifies things?!

By the way, the poems are educative, and interesting. It's been fun reading them all.

Thanks
