badmusace: I don't know if this is where I request for a new designer. When this round was not meant to be the final round, I wrote two poems and my designer did sth for both.when this round was said to be the final, I changed my topic to 'Rapture' and my designer's laptop crashed. I believe I'm now designerless.
Perfect match! PLEASE CONTACT EACHOTHER

ANNOUNCEMENT:

I am withdrawing the 2 bonus points from my lovely poets, Ishitbey, She-blayze, and Piresgu.
That being said, please feel free to adjust your posts, you still have time till the final deadline.
Keep adjusting till you feel comfortable enough with your work. No pressure, no rush!
Using wayo senses, and tactics are permissible. wink
Thank you very much for being cooperative, and considerate.

kennikazi: ehe...ayav a ques...since ayam my own designer, hw shud i ansa the ques 'what unique experiences did you derive with your designer?'huh
Lol, what unique experience did you derive from being your own designer. Can we send a poet your way? That way, you can have the feel of working in a team.

jackbauersballs:
Am I seriously going to reply you? undecided Oh lawd! cheesy

Jack, you are the most arrogant person I've ever met. Take a look at your post below, you had to say that when others were crying for designers?
I've just seen the graphic for my poem and I must admit I'm very fvcking pleased.

Centje is an absolute star no doubt.
Anyhoo, the statement about sipping cold drinks applied to both contestants, and organizers. I also said we all decided to put poetry on a pedestal, and we are all doing a good job. I am too humble to be arrogant, dear. Pick on some of the literary wizards here, you know I am gonna bore you, I am not good at trading words or writing embarassed.

Leave my Jack alone.

Funny enough, I am attracted to him. I like literary bad boys, but sometimes he scares me. He needs to let me in

jackbauersballs: How bout people like me who have just seen only just seen an unfinished graphic today?

The concept of Giving bonus points based on submission time in a contest that is supposed to judge prowess is deeply flawed...especially if you cannot prove that the contestants who are yet to submit are withholding their entries to prove difficult...and most especially when the established deadline is yet to expire...

I'm beginning to infer that the organisers are under the notion that they are doing contestants a favour judging by the flippant and in some cases outright rude wordings of their communications both on the threads and in their emails

It says a lot about a person's organisational skills if their communications to contestants continue to include sly digs and indirect verbal assaults... undecided
Oh please let me hear word. You know fully well that I am not the kind to exchange or trade words. I'd just go straight to the point. Many contestants have been complaining both online, and offline about lacking designers, or would you claim you don't know about this?

However, most contestants have their designs already. Or you don't think we can track them? If these people submit theirs, then we can re-assign other poets to their designers. This is to make everyone excel in the competition. The bonus mark of 2 points is to encourage these people that submitted, and to inspire others to submit their finished work. It is not a big deal. In the email, I also emphasized the issues that can arise such as large file size and wrong file format, which is good to address now, and not at the last minute.

You were the only contestant we changed its designer just because you mentioned it. I wont go into details, I don't like to complain, and sulk. I am more particular about productivity. So many adjustments have been done in the competition to make all the contestants satisfied, that we don't need to list. Some roles we had to adopt that a normal competition won't. I hope you know we do not have the powers to maneuver the competition? I also got limited support from the forum. This was just an idea to encourage/promote poets. No one is doing anyone any favors. We could all be somewhere sipping cold drinks, and partying but we all decided to put poetry on a pedestal. So all contestants, and organizers are doing a good job.

kennikazi: 32 bonus points!!!!! I object! It is you that is doing the wayo o!!

Oh no, I gave them 3 but changed it to 2. Still contemplating though.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

For the ones that had their designs on time, and submitted early, Id be giving you additional 3 2 bonus marks. This is because you are considerate. I pleaded that the ones ready with their designs should submit early so we can identify the ones without designers, and re-assign them. So I inconvenienced, or pressured you into submitting early, while others take their time to perfect their work. I am referring to Irshitbey, Piresgu, and She-blayze. Thank you for putting others first. For those that have their designs but are holding back, hence making our work more difficult, continue using your wayo senses o! grin

Step 6-

Your 2nd post should look like this -->

Designer: [your designer’s name should come in here]

Why did you choose your topic?

What unique experience did you derive from working with a designer?

What were the constraints involved in working in a team?

Tell us everything we need to know about your poem.
Sell, and present your poem to us like we are clueless about Literature.
Picture us as your audience, and captivate us.

Finally, why did the designer use the designs, pictures, visuals, and every other component of the design?
***You would have to consult with your designer for this part, it must correlate***

The meaning of some of the terms, terminologies, figure of speech and designs, or what they signify.
***This is the best time to address big grammars used in the poem***

In conclusion, what is the message behind your poem?

ANNOUNCEMENTS TO THE CONTESTANTS:

Poets, please focus more on writing your poems, and getting them ready. This would reduce the workload when you eventually meet with your designer. I am trying my best to get the designers, please focus on your poems. Half break is better than none. If you've not heard from your designer by noon tomorrow, send an email to nairalandpoets@yahoo.com. Thanks

onegig: You might consider giving extensions. None of my team members have responded. I would have commenced work on their poems but seriously i don't even have an idea what their poems are. Also designing aint that easy. You need some time off sometimes to portray the poems artistically
Okay, alright, yeah!
I won't extend it yet, but I'd leave it open for now, and let things fall into place naturally.
LiteratureRe: Nairaland's "The Poet" Competition Season 2 - Submission Thread For Round 1 by Cuddlemii(op): 7:07pm On Aug 16, 2013
scorpidmo: Can we please get an extension, cos I'm having serious writers block.
The topics have been out since last month, and everyone was advised to write in advance. This was done so that poets would have their work ready, and if they qualify to the next round, they would start working with their designers immediately. All that would be left would be editing, or adjustments.

Now, we have two more intense rounds after this, if we shift the deadline, we are encouraging y'all not to read/follow instructions, because if you had been following, you'd know the requirements. Secondly, it would no longer be a competition because of all the previous adjustments, and now we want to move the deadline backwards. I don't know about you but it eliminates the challenge, and drags everything.

However, I may shift the deadline to the 19th.
