imagine someone who has just 5m naira after many years , because he wants to be a landlord and wants people to see him as successful , he will now use 3.5m or even more to build a house and most likely the funds wont even complete the house , he will move in and start saving again , i told one guy that why dont u buy a land of about 1m the first year ,cool down and use the remaining 4m to work and invest again , when the fund reach 5-6m, take 1 m for the project and be doing it like that till you finish the building project , since it is ur house , he told me the devil was using me against his dreams that he rejects the spirit of stagnation , now he is looking for loans and job to sustain his family and the building isnt even completed .
and i know someone whose first building is a 4 flats but doesnt stay in it , he rented it out and he is building his 3 house now , he already has planse to build his retirement home in future

thats the mentality we are talking about, I want to be a landlord, By all means...

The summary is that you can own a home a number of reasons. But never own a home as an investment. It is just buring money in the ground.
no the summary is if the money u have is just enough to buy one home that you’d live in don’t do it, invest ur money properly till u re sure u have enough to spare after buying a house... imagine living in a huge house that brings u nothing at the end of the year and been unable to meet ur daily needs..

maybe he meant home ownership in Lagos Island is a bad investment......coz all I can reference his assertion to are only the upper class and the upper middle class Nigerians.

This is the worst advise for the average Nigerian since most of the population is struggling to meet ends needs. Now imagine paying school fees, rent, transportation, bills every month on a salary of let's say 70k, it's going to be hectic. But with this salary in a small town in 9ja and with a good cooperative society ( who gives out non interest loans) I can get one plot of land at d outskirt of a major town and develop.

Moreover, House ownership is more of a cultural ritual in 9ja. Families struggle very hard to build houses so that they can be associated with it and it is a thing of pride to them (ie, they are in there homes, no landlord or landlady can come and harass them anyhow). It gives families a sense of ownership and security.

Even in foreign countries, house ownership is a thing that most of them want to achieve and they throw big parties involving families and friends when this is achieved.

I totally disagree with Dr. Tayo. Even with the rate of inflation around d world, properties and lands are d only assets apart from gold dat I know of that there values are in most cases always increasing. This means that the prices of house rent will always increase and not the d other way round (if the quality of the home is maintained or improved upon?)
you honestly didn’t understand what he meant...

he is more than correct , but many wont take time to do the maths and understand what he is saying . blacks are bandwagon people , once someone is doing something we all want to do the same thing.
i sometimes marvel when i see ppl rushing to build personally houses but yet they are suffering and income isnt much . the problem is a societal one as having a house of ones own and according to ppl even if it is just a room is seen as accomplishment and sign of success
the one that annoys me the most is the state where I am from, someone that has enough money to build two flat will want to build a duplex simply because his friend is building a duplex, in the end money finish house become uncompleted building, now they’ll become broke Tenants with uncompleted building....

what i complain china of , is mostly its inner political environment, which would not affect any foreigners , such as you.

no chinese talking these things to you, this is obviously an evidence that, you are taken to be an outsider, no matter physically how close you are to chinese people , in china.

i dont see why i can rouse your empathy, and i dont expect it.

anyway, there are 15 million chinese living in guangzhou, it is nothing big deal for me being one of them.
no u are wrong, I never said most are my problems I just said I was fed up with the way they live, relationships are complicated, today they are your friend, tomorrow they don't even want to talk to you anymore, you can't even start a conversation with even the educated ones about the country and it's leaders, and yes this long summer my light bill went super high, and I don't have to be a Chinese to realize that the air is getting even more polluted... Even though you're so proud about the English you speak, and even not living in china, I can still see traces of the Chinese character in the replies u give...

nigeria beats china for many things.

climate better, no long and hot summer, which you need to pay high bill of electricity for running air conditioner.

no air pollution,no food adulteration ,no honking and blaring , no complicated human relationships which involve officiousness (when not in need)and indifference(when in need), no permanent real estate possessing rights while vat tax rate high as 17% which means every 100 yuan you buy something with you need to pay 17 yuan to the chinese government, which would cut ofc your facebook connection and youtube, tumblr, etc....and you can not vote for the president, not even allowed to mention the name of president on internet ,which is one among dozens of reasons why you will disappear from the planet earth due to the policemen....

well, seems i know too much about china
if you're honestly In Guangzhou, I'd like to buy you a fee bottles of ur brand, Harbin tsin tao or corona? .... If you're truly Chinese I haven't met one who speaks facts like you do...every single thing yiubwrote there is the current situation why I am fed up of this place.

And MR new challenge has shoot his 91 attempts for juve since 2018 directly to Jupiter...

*Lionel Messi (607) has now surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo’s all time career club goals (606) in an astonishing 119 less games played*

My question is simple, wat of if messi dey always stay inside the box like Mr tap in?Am sure he might be getting closer to 1000 goals by now, everything comes for him with ease.

If u still think penaldo is better than messi ur cerebrum is reverse biased.
and with the rate at which Ronaldo take score 450 goals for Spanish league what of if to say nah their him start and still remain for Madrid all him career?? By now him for don score 1200,, don't forget in the history of LA Liga, he's the fastest player to score 100, 200 ,300 and even 400 goals if the tap ins easy maybe Raul supposed get 1000 wey Ronaldo nor fit break

Now, you’re talking chief.

You’re just understanding my point now. China is a place to start from not a place you can stay for a longer period whichever way.

You’re living in one of the top tier cities.

i have always understood your point, i was only against when you said, china is no place for a black man... all the same its all good

80% of the people make inquiries about China on this thread are hoping it is a safe haven or they can stay behind after whatever they are doing.

China is developing well and fast there’s no doubt about it but while we are talking about the sweet part of it, we should also tell the other side.

From your previous comments, it appears you’ve not gone to neighbouring Asian countries hence you’re carried away by all these structures and roads you see in China. (You can correct me if I am wrong)

I asked previously, where in China are you based?

if we are gon be honest no single Asia country is good enough for a black man to think of living in a long term, and you're right I have only been to like 3 Asia countries, and I wouldn't honestly advice anyone to think of coming here for a long term. It's a place to start from, if you're smart come in get whatever you can, and leave when you can.. But it also doesn't change the fact that some people have been living here for long and honestly do not wish to leave. So what ever it is anyone reading this is looking for, be prepared for the worse. But if you're smart enough you wouldn't even need to live here for too long.. I'm currently in Shenzen

Stop jumping into conclusions, it’s bad for your health!

Who told you I’m working here or in china to make money?

I’m only in china to build my travel history because it’s easier to get various types of visa that’d cost you a FORTUNE if you’re applying from Nigeria.

By the way, where in China are you sir?

I never said you were here to work or make money, I’m only making an example, and I’m referring to you but to everyone of us here, if it’s not for a black man like u said then all of us here both working and schooling both you trying to build travel history will not be here..

I will say again, CHINA isn’t made for foreigners, not even you a BLACK MAN.

Just go there, make money, build your traveling history and leave when you get a good chance.

if it isn’t made for foreigners or black man as you said, then you shouldn’t even bother going there to make money..

Ps; I live in China.

but still people have lived here built their life here and they are doing well, if you say it’s not a place you should think of living in a long term, that I would agree with you a little.. but still one has to start from somewhere and saying it’s not a place for a black man is plain wrong..

Whatever you want in LIFE, China isn’t the place for you as a black man.
no place, is a place for us as black men even in our own Africa, or the United States... But anywhere can become your safe heaven or your starting point if you know what you truly want in life and go for it, I’m not saying China is the best place to be and I’m also not saying it is a bad place to be, like I said it depends on what you want in life, come to China with a little capital if you’re smart and have a dedicated family back home within 1 year you’d be a millionaire...
