Phones / Re: How Carlcare Responded To My Complaint On Nairaland About Their Uyo Centre by curiousmind11: 3:37am On Aug 29, 2017
Good job OP. It is good that Carlcare management intervened in the matter. Like others have said, I pray and hope companies and businesses don't wait for such escalations before they take measures to satisfy their customers. One place to start is proper training. If your staff any direct or indirect dealing with customers, get them trained on international best practices for customers service delivery.

On the other hand, we the customers must know our rights and limitations. Customer is king as we were told in Economic class is real, but hardly invoked in Nigeria, partly we don't know our rights. Hence , we behave as if these companies and their staff are doing us a favour. Same attitude we extend to out thieving politicians.

We should use social media as a tool for positive change, not for fighting or demonizing people who don't speak or think like us.

Social Media wins again. I think every company needs a system that prevents issues from going viral before they resolve it. E.g A special/dedicated email or phone number to where customers can report/escalate issues when initial resolution attempts fail instead of going to social media.

I pray and hope this happens sometime soon.

In Nigeria we tolerate every bad thing. Customer service is zero in Nigeria. Most persons and businesses know nothing about good customer service. And yet we still patronize them, either because we have no alternative or we don't know our rights. Same way we tolerate and even praise our fraudulent politicians and government.

I hope things like this will open our eyes to know that a customer is king in the chain of production/business. As such we have thee right to demand for excellent services.

Education / Re: TETFUND Boss Uncovers Fraud Involving Lecturers, Agency’s Staff by curiousmind11: 10:23am On Aug 24, 2017

All these blackmail because lecturers embarked on strike?

Useless childish Buhari govt.
One can very easily predict them

Sadly, it is true and had been going on since TETFUND was established. A lecturer gets research funding today, first thing he does is buy new car, build new house and if allowed by his religion, marries a new wife. Then turns around to ask project students to buy materials.

Why many uncompleted intervention projects on our campuses? Because, VCs and other management staff have converted the funds into personal use. And because they can't account for previous disbursement , they can't get the next one.

So sad for same people complaining of poor funding from government.

Imagine him causing CAN to suspend the leader of the protest. What did Akwa Ibom State do to deserve this type of governance?

This letter by Bishop Aya was posted on this forum days ago. We all saw the letter. When did the word excommunication appear in the letter?

If someone resign from your company, will you encourage other staff and your clients to go to him for services or regard him as working for your company?

We leave what we should talk about our AWOL president and all become judges on something we have no idea of.

Family / How Do I Handle My Friends Trying To Conceive? by curiousmind11: 1:02am On Jul 24, 2017
I have a friend who has been married for 8 years now, yet no child. He has been very good as a friend and business partner. My wife and I do pray for them, but we have not directly ask though we know they are seeking medical attention.

I have another friend, a female, who has been married since 2012. In 2014 she started telling me that she is not happy because of not conceiving after 2 years of marriage. Since then, she has tried couple of things. The husband is sometimes erratic, today supportive, next day indifferent or even aggressive. Early this year her brother suggested IVF, but she couldn't raise the money, so I suggested IUI first. I helped convince the hubby, and they tried it. They have been on that treatment since April. Now, she is very emotional. She is not communicating with anyone, moody and sad always. When she finally responded to my numerous call and messages, she says she frustrated and wishes to be left alone.

While I understand how difficult this can be, I think cutting friends and family off is not good for her. What can I do to help her. Anyone that did IUI and it was successful that wants to share testimony here? I can forward such testimonies to her.

For all women TTC, please, we your family and friends understand the challenge you are going through, we may not know best way to help, but we wish we can. Don't allow negative emotions to control you or your relationship with people. People who hardly understand your concerns will think you are jealous or hating on them.

This is what my wife and I have been quarrelling about. She wants everything about her to be on Facebook, including our kids' births.

It is not good at all. Sheyi Law's daughter is just a normal kid. Most of us were that way, just that we were not subjected to the opinions of internet strolls.

Aside exporting, do you know any company that uses our cocoa for any form of production here in Nigeria?

Everyday, people support causes for people with cancer, HIV, Polio , or disabled, are all these people suffering from cancer, HIV/AIDS, polio or are they disabled? Granted that they had issues in their marriage. He should use another reason, not the one he used.

Religion / Re: Is Over Feeding A Sin? by curiousmind11: 5:10pm On Jun 25, 2017
I laugh at most of the responses here. Most of them gave no biblical reference to the subject. If the overeating is intentional, it is gluttony. The Bible condemns gluttony as sin same way it condemns drunkenness. Overeating is same category of sin as drunkenness, but if it alcohol that was mentioned, this thread would reach 10 pages now with our fanatical responses.
Read Gal.5:21-23 Prov. 23:20-22, Prov. 23:2, Prov. 28:7

In fact, gluttony is regarded as one of the deadly sins of the church and is define as lack of self control towards sex, drink and food. Self control is a priceless attribute of a Christian. Cf 2 Peter 1:5-7, 1Tim. 3:1-6

Romance / Re: If Love Is Not Enough For Marriage, What Is? by curiousmind11: 7:53pm On Jun 05, 2017
tobianthony:
When it comes to marriage first things first you need to know yourself and you need to be painfully realistic with yourself .

Finances - very very key ... Ask your partner to write down at least five financial principles they believe in and practice . Nobody has enough money to do what they want all the time it's all about managing resources .

Spirituality - if you guys are not on the same level spiritually you need to resolve this .

Sexuality - everybody more than often cheats one way or the other ...do not let this bug you to the point of insanity just take it for what it is and respect boundaries . Make sure your partner is on the same level with you when it comes to sex . If you are a level 9 on the freak meter do not marry a level 5 or below . If you do be prepared to come down to her level or cheat .

Family - the average Nigerian woman expects you to take care of her family from time to time in one way or the other ...draw the line according to your capacity .

Life goals - Be clear about where you are going in life and see if they support you . if your partner is not an entrepreneur or more like a salary inclined person be careful and expose her to your world if it's the other way do the same . be open with your finances . Trust me the day you die you die you do not want her to start running around like a headless chicken looking for money .

Children - don't let anyone steamroll you into having children if you can't afford to ...we men need to stop this attitude of making babies we can't afford to feed . Make sure you are clear on how many kids you want and do not ...I repeat do not exceed that number . Three is the maximum .

Conflict resolution - make sure your partner is emotionally experienced and intelligent to say I'm sorry and move on . You must learn to forgive and forget . Your wife go do you many things that will make you want to run her over with your car and vice versa just forgive and do your best .

My dude it's an adventure many have entered and some failed while some people succeeded . Nobody has a perfect marriage .

If you think you are ready take your partner to justice Idowu's court at igbosherie Lagos high court and sit down and watch divorce proceedings and just note the mistakes that people make .

Even if you do all this still might not go according to plan .

Marriage is a Ponzi scheme and the best thing in life at the same time ...those who take advantage of the system will enjoy it .

All the best .

@OP, This guy has given you the real manual. These are the ingredients you need 85% to make a happy marriage.
Romance / Re: If Love Is Not Enough For Marriage, What Is? by curiousmind11: 7:45pm On Jun 05, 2017
Yes, only romantic love is not enough to get married.

Sexual, emotional and intellectual compatibility count. These things will glue you together when that romantic feeling wanes (give it 2-5yrs).

Take a look at your mother in law physically, will you still be in love if your wife-to-be looks that way 20+ years from now? How about their family values, do they align with what you believe or want for your new family? Know that no matter what we choose to believe, you are marrying into a family, or as my people say, you are marrying a family.

How is your partner's financial intelligence? You may make all the money in the world, but if your wife is not intelligent financially, you will soon have problems or even run broke. Does she like saving or spending? Does she opt for alternatives or insists on brand names?

I dey come. make I read other contributions

I can only SMH for some shallow, or uninformed comments here.

Imagine looking for illegal ways to go to developed countries. Do we think those countries were built with illegal and dishonest means? Dishonest means and illegal runs is what is keeping Nigeria the way it is.

I once told my friends and family that if it were possible, I will take all of them to my country of residence for at least a year each. If only if that will change our mindset about the western world.

Nigeria can be as great as where we all want to go to, if and only if we want her to change.

committing suicide or even helping someone commit suicide is illegal in some countries, not only Nigeria. Some countries have legalized it after years of making it illegal. So many things are not unique to Nigeria only as we always want to believe.

Assuming, she had succeeded to kill herself, would she be charged? Did she attempt suicide because she was very happy? Or trying to hurt someone?

I have a personal friend who attempted suicide in 2011. She was retained in the psychiatric unit of a teaching hospital till all evaluation and psychological treatment done. She was placed on surveillance for next 6 months with weekly counseling before she was allowed to go back to work.

The scenario I narrated and the one we have at hand, which helps the person more?

Jesus Christ!!!!

Nigerian bloggers are some useless set of creatures.

In the video, there was someone in the background telling the woman to touch the bride's tummy.
Apparently, she was aware her tummy was rubbed.

But Nigerian bloggers first released a story claiming she rubbed the tummy with jazz, and now this fuckery.

The moderator who pushed this to frontpage is as stupid as stupid can get.

An innocent woman is being framed by some hungry bloggers.

Watch the video!!!!!

Cc Seun

The video posted is a second recording captured from a screen with maybe a mobile phone, not the original video. If you listen attentively, you note that the voices you heard are those of people asking others to notice how the woman touched the stomach and her countenance. It didn't instruct the women as you opined.

It is the voice of people analyzing the video. Watch again!

Education / Re: Have You Or Anyone You Know Regretted Going Abroad For Higher Education? by curiousmind11: 12:21am On Apr 11, 2017
From my understanding, the original post is about PhDs in most cases, and not anyone studying abroad. I can only agree with the OP on the non-availability of faculty positions for foreign PhDs. It is not unique to Germany, but most developed countries. The academic space seems to be saturated within the past 10yrs, and it will likely remain like this for a while. It is even worse in Canada and US, where the governments are deliberately reducing research funding.

Within the past 10 weeks, I have had similar conversation with about 5 PhDs in Canada, 4 are already looking at alternative career paths.

The crux of the matter is that anyone going for a PhD in these countries should be open to coming back home or be ready to be frustrated or change direction. PhD graduates from other countries go back to their countries to pick up faculty positions, why can't we Africans do same?

So sad to read these responses from Nigerian youths. Nigeria is in trouble with this mentality. So, in your absurd minds, the oyibos also do ritual.

The only connection of autism in Nigeria to financial status is that the rich get their kids diagnosed as autism, while the poor throw theirs away or allow pastors to label the kids as witch, obanje, or even leave them as outcast.

This could have been an opportunity to drum support for kids from poor homes with this condition. At Las, we use it to express our ignorance and apathy for proper reasoning.
