I believe a guy and a lady can be friends without anything attached. I am already taken and she knows. Even if I was interested, this single action would pursue me.

I have lived on this planet for some years now and I have been fortunate to interact with people from different cultures in addition to our Nigerian cultures.
One thing seems to be unique to our Nigerian ladies (though not all). It is a sense of entitlement. Some ladies feel everything is about them.

A lady would ask you for financial help, and would still expect you to call and confirm that she got the money.

For people who still buy airtime for girls, they will expect you to call them even after they got the credit. What was the credit meant for?

I know someone will say na only "small " or "poor" girls do such. I will say, it is a lie. They so called "classy babes" do it too.

On Saturday, a so called "classy" babe asked for data subscription since she is still expecting some payment in job she executed. I did. Mind you we are friends, though she seems to be interested in the next level. I went on my normal biz the whole Saturday and Sunday. Only for me to see this message on my Whatsapp
"So you have been online the whole of today and yesterday without dropping a message?"

What kind of entitlement is this? Who did this to some of our ladies?

What happens to proper sting operation to get hard evidences against any corrupt official like the judges?

As much as we must root out corruption, must we act like rascals? It would be better if this man can suspend the Constitution just to live his dreams.

Why not set this judges up through a bribe scenario with marked bank notes or with recorded phone calls as it's done in civilized societies?

People supporting this gestapo nature of fighting corruption are the problem in this country!

why is every packaged Nigerian food item, for example garri, pounded yam, palm oil, crayfish, semovita, farrina etc you find in African stores in the US mostly made in Ghana? Can't we produce export quality packaged food items in Nigeria? Or are there some other factors

Very genuine and worrying question. All the palm oil I have bought over many years, non is from Nigeria. Either Ghana or Malaysia

Those your friends are lying or would say, they are pretending to make you feel jealous. A lot of things are good in most developed countries, but it is very ordered, yet many people miss our free-style back home. The truth is those things they miss abroad are not strong enough to bring them back.

I am in UK as I write this. I can tell u with my little 2 months experience here. Nigerian girls here can hardly identify with a fellow black or nigerian guy. They prefer white or the mentality of 'I am too big' to be known as a Nigerian. They want to feel white unfortunately they have not got the formula to mutate their melanin. The white guys on the other hand would always prefer fellow white for marriage and our girls for sexual satisfaction. In view of the above our guys here maintain their distance from them- fellow Nigerian girls. If u see any black girl wandering or seated alone or in any form that depicts loneliness get closer to her you would realise that she is a Nigerian.
Our guys in order take a pound of flesh would not take what the white guys have rejected. They prefer coming home for a wife. In view of this general disappointment our babes have no alternative other than waking up a forgotten old boyfriend back in Nigeria for a relationship if at all the guy has not got married.
From my anecdote above u can deduce the chain reaction why both babes and guys normally make it back home to marry.
Remember in both cases they appear valuable and the opposite sex here in NAija would take them hook and sinker.

This is the bitter truth. This behavior applies to US and Canada too.

It depends on how low the temperature can get. I suggest you look into Obudu highlands, where Obudu cattle range is located. It has a high likelihood. A friend is looking into that area to establish a grape farm.

Topics like this makes me believe when people say that women are the worst enemies to themselves. The term "house wife" is very common with some Nigerian ladies who want to create a class. Do you guys know the amount work involved in building a home? These ladies are "home builders" or 'home makers'. The word "house wife" as used in Nigeria is derogatory yet these people are the ones laying the foundation for a good society.

Haven't stated this, it depends on the orientation of the woman in question. If working would contribute to her positive self esteem, she should work. But not for fear of being look down by fellow women or for economic muscle flexing. What I get from proponents of "A wife must work" is that there are things a woman spend money on which the husband is not suppose to know or approve. That is why they need their own money. In marriage, transparency is KEY.

You are very correct on this. Some of this people are very wicked. I grew up in the village and I loved village life. I struggled in many ways as a young man. But when I started working a good place, come see jealousy and outright hatred. If I go to the village, I can't even pass a night in that village. Meanwhile, we have electricity yet most working class youths don't go there. Are these the kind of people that will wake one day to tell me what to do?

Village was a place to retire to years ago, but presently wickedness and greed has taken over. Some villages though, few are still ok.

Comments here make me to believe that Nigeria has a long way to go. Politicians will continue to hoodwink and steal us blind. Whether someone has a house in his village, of what concern is that to U or his village people? How many people in his village contributed to his training or career? I am a strong proponent of people giving back to the society, but must it be by building a house and by force? Giving back to the society doesn't mean sharing money or building house for relatives.
Some people on this forum are the reason, Nigeria take long to progress.

Guy, if U can read where I mention a girl writing love letter, U may know it was before the arrival of mobile phones. Or u don't know that letter writing was used for communications before mobile phone came into Nigeria in early 2000s? If it may make sense to U, I have spent more than 4 decades on mother earth.

But seriously this is sad. N18k per month is about N600 per day. And an average civil servant has about 7 children. The math is hard to do.

Why don't you talk about the jumbo pay and allowances gulped by these dis-honorables? The minimum wage should be left as it is, or an improvement made. How justified are these polithieves in the amount they make legally and illegally?

Since secondary school, we learned that fertilizers are not good in supporting or sustaining good soil structures. I have even seen the effect of these chemical fertilizers in my locality as a child. A farm that used to grow thick shrubs now become a grassland. In addition to this, we are so dependent on this fertilizers imported into Nigeria.

Organic fertilizers on the other hand seem to be on the rise in recent times. Its advantages include supporting soil structure, non-toxic, can be sourced within the country, etc. My question is do we have any commercial organic fertilizers in Nigeria? Any commercial farmer that is currently using organic fertilizers in his/her farm?

Guy, I hope you know organic manure is different from manure. Nigerians need food first, and don't care if the food is GMO or organic(as most western countries do). Producing and using organic fertilizers may take time in Nigeria as we die to get anything foreign. If given any opportunity we may even export the ingredients for the organic fertilizer then import the finished product.

Nigerians hating 'made in Nigerian goods' since 1960

I grow up in the 80's and my dad worked for a multinational in the good old days. I remember using Jam or Butter(Blue Band) to eat most our bread and biscuits. During SAP of IBB regime, all these disappeared as dad was laid off from that job. Now, we are all grown and my siblings have kids of their own. A discussion came up between my brother-in-law and my bros about kids eating bread without jam these days. I went out to look for jam to buy for my nephews and nieces, but I could not find in my supermarkets. I could buy butter but even the sellers viewed me as one "topshot" for buying butter?
My question is "Is Jam exotic to Nigeria?" I know I am not a fan of spreads(butter and jam), but are these for the privileged or just that Nigerians are not into spreads like myself? Do we produce jam in this country?

I have noticed that most Nigerians seem to thrive on comparism. We feel happy when we do something that our friends or relative have not achieved. I understand that achieving something or being successful is a thing of joy. But, when we keep mentioning what you have done and your friends/relatives has not done that, is that good for any relationship? Example, I have a nieghbor when started living in our building since Jan this year, within 2months, I can say he thrives on comparison. A colleague of his got promoted at work, he left work b4 end of business. I could tell he was upset. But, when he bought bought a land in his village, I new all his friends who have worked for yrs without buying a land. I am gradually withdrawing from him.
But this guy is not alone. I have had many people who seems to take pleasure in comparing themselves to others, especially those below them. Yet, they seem to envy those who are better than them. Is this normal?
Personally, I hated comparism from childhood and I still hate. I can be motivated by others success, but I can compare myself to them.

I once had a friend who impregnated his direct cousin though he was single then. So, cousin or not, they had something to hide or do. Some cousins are fvckmate while some fvckmate disguise themselves as cousins.

As much as I know that most students are not serious with their studious, your point of view is baised and therefore wrong. Not every 3rd class is dumb and not every 2-1 or 1st class is a genius. I have seen 3rd class graduates doing better in real life than 2-1 graduates, without favors or cutting corners.We are so obsessed with paper qualification. Some people are worth more than the paper they carry, while some are not worth their class of degree.
