You can submit physically. My spouse submitted his own yesterday physically at Abuja VFS.

ObinnaAugustine:
Good evening all.

I received Passport request from IRCC today!

Please Can I submit my international passport in-person at VFS office at Abuja Since I did my biometric at Abuja.

A friend of mine said VFS are no longer accepting passports physically. Only accepting mailed passports( through DHL or others)…Please how true is this

Thank you

Congrats to you . Applied since September 29. Medicals was updated to Passed on January 19 and no movement or update ever since.

Written webforms and sent a couple of emails but no progress. Did you do anything specific for them to respond to you?

I also sent multiple webforms and emails

Last week I reached out to an MP too and they asssured me they would follow it up.
Although I am yet to hear from them, I cant really say if that influenced the process.

That's a fairy tale. So long as the marriage was conducted at the marriage registry and you have the marriage certificate issued, you're good to go. I remember I was also told Ikoyi registry is the only one that is valid. All na wash.

Okay. Thank you

Good evening house

This is my first time asking a question here although I have been following the thread.

I got my study visa for Canada earlier this year and I will be arriving in fall. My fiancé and I are planning on doing a court marriage before I travel so he can join me after I get there.

However we keep hearing that we should make use of a Federal registry in Nigeria as this is the only one recognized by Canada immigration.
Our initial plan was to use a local government registry.

Please I would appreciate more information on this.

Can we go ahead with the local government registry or it’s compulsory to do it with a federal registry?

Thank you for your responses

Good morning

Please when did you raise your Form A?

Afolavid:

Add more money to the account, that will be sufficient for disbursement, i paid $9292 CAD yesterday which was converted to $7464 USD @ 419/$, that should give you an estimate of what amount you should fund your account with. Also, click on help on the website to see the process for form A amendment and contact your bank, that way your submission will be reviewed, no need to start over again.

Good morning house.

Please I need your responses. Kindly Indulge.

1.) I submitted my E Form A on Friday the 11th, should I wait for sometime before going to the bank or can I go to the bank tomorrow to ensure the payment is worked on?

2.) Also I submitted a western union payment instruction which i generated on the 11th and it expires today after 72 hours. Will this affect my payment to the school because the payment instruction will have expired before the payment is made?

Thank you for your responses

*PPR*alert/ Application timeline.

I am new to this platform and I've been a silent reader. Though I didn't know of this platform when I applied, since when I joined in December, I've learnt a lot from people here.
Thank you @makano for answering my question that day, I really appreciate. I got my ppr that same day so I didn't later do as suggested.
Here goes the timeline:
First time applicant

Submitted application in August 22, 2021
Did biometrics in August 26, updated the same day.
I didn't do an upfront medicals because I want to know how far my application has gone. I heard that if you are sent a medical request, then you are 80 percent to getting your visa.
So the wait began after biometrics.. I didn't think about it much because I don't want to have hbp grin though I continue praying. I didn't even bother checking my portal.
Got a medical request exactly 2 months later- October 22, 2021.
Did my medical exam Nov 9, updated to pass Nov 15.
Then the wait again.
I waited the remaining of November and the whole of December.
Got PPR on January 5th, 2022, Alhamdulillah.

Documents submitted:
- The 3 IMM forms
- LOA (unconditional) stating the partial scholarship I got.
- 4 months bank statement of my uncle and Mum each. None was up to 10 million naira, though there was active transactions on both.
- My SOP. I tried to be as honest as possible with it. It was just a page.
- Passport photograph
- international passport.

For people still waiting for ppr, it will come soon. Just don't stop praying. There is nothing prayer cannot do. It's not about the millions of naira you have in your account that does it, but God's grace.

Have a good evening y'all.

Our stories and timeline are similar. I also remember not wanting to do upfront medicals because of uncertainty. But to God be the glory it ended in praises.

Congratulations. May Canada favour us all.

Your result is competitive for any school in Canada. Considering your desired program will likely be a research masters, below rules will help you.

1. No supervisor, no application. You don't determine your schools before hand. Wherever you get supervisors are your preferred schools.

2. Apply to 3-5 schools where you get supervisors. No supervisor or school can guarantee your admission. You will increase your chances by applying to more than one schools.

3. Check each department website and target supervisors in schools that offer funding. Your GPA will likely get you a full funding if you do things right. A full scholarship will save you a lot of stress when applying for a student visa.

I have to tell you though that the admission process require some time, experience and luck. You came a bit late because September 2022 deadline are almost here. Most first timers are usually not sure if they really want Canada nor put in the effort required. All the best.

He/she doesn't need a supervisor to get admitted to the department for masters program.

Although i agree with your No. 3

Now I want to apply for my masters in economics.
I’m thinking of University of Manitoba
With my result do I stand a chance.
As per they said University of Manitoba is very competitive

Go ahead and apply. You stand a very good chance.

This period is the best time to apply!!!

Ketima:

Hello gifted,

Are you sure you know him? Well if you look well, I didn't reveal phone number nor did I reveal email address. All I wanted her was to say her office name and address, But it was hard to say. How can I come to fayemi or is it fayose (lol) and call her. And to burst your bubble, I used him instead of her cos is a she and not a he. So how you say you know him when the person the other side is a lady? And you said you spoke to him too Unless there is something you're not telling us. Maybe I chat with a guy, then a lady does the call? If that's right, then it means is a syndicate group of scammers. I have gone vast here to know that this kind of people don't work alone. That's why I was using him and not her and you're telling me you spoke with him and not a her.

As for the curse, don't mind her. I'm too deep in Christ that she can't use the same person I serve to curse me. Lol. Good morning all and welcome to a brand new day.

I have to say well done Ketima for looking our for unsuspecting individuals on here. People actually need to be weary of things like this

Hello everyone

So here is my Timeline post.

I started this travel abroad journey last year and at a point I almost didn’t see it through cos there were a lot of hurdles. Major one was my passport which took months to get.

I got admission with The University of Manitoba to resume for Fall 2021 but had to defer to Fall 2022 due to the delays I experienced and the school only has resumption set for Fall.

Application submitted: August 6th
Biometrics completed: August 8th
Medical request: October 7th
Eligibility: I’m not sure when this started cos I wasn’t checking my portal always but I think it was the same day medicals dropped
Medicals done: October 20th
Medicals Passed: October 26th
BVL and PPR: November 3rd.

To be honest I never expected to get an approval because my application was not up to the standard of everyone I saw here especially with finances. I saw so many huge numbers here which was discouraging but God had his way. Infact at a point I was just waiting for a refusal so I went about my normal life without checking my portal. Not until I got medical request. So just like the other gurus here have said, no 2 applications are the same.

I would like to give a special thanks to @lekibooe. He reviewed my SOP and he helped me restructured it including providing me with tips. Infact he was very responsive when I asked for his help.

I am also grateful to everyone here. This group was my major source for information on how to submit a proper application with all the useful guidelines. I did all my self without the help of any agent.

I hope and pray that everyone expecting PPR will receive soonest.

Hello guys. I applied for 2022 Fall Master's Program @University of Manitoba, two days ago.

Please how long does it take to get admission in the school?

Please, reply me. I need to give feedback to my benefactor.

Thank you.

By the end of January you should get a response or early February next year. Atleast that was when I got mine this year.
