Some days ago we saw a post of how Comedian, Chukwuemeka Emmanuel, popularly known as Sabinus, slammed a one billion naira suit on Friesland Foods Wamco Nigeria Plc for what he termed unauthorised use of his trademark ‘something hooge'.

Sabinus also demanded a sum of N100m from UAC Foods for what he termed "the use of his animated image in an advert for the Gala sausage roll".

If you watch a lot of comedy skits and videos, then you must be conversant with some regular voices in the background such as; “70-year-old man”, “no be juju be that”, “you are a mumu man”, “they have left you behind” “photo” “na your mumu na him too much” you be mumu, you think say you dey wise”!

At a point, you might be wondering where the comedians and funny skit makers got those background voices from, but little did you know they were gotten from Asari Dokubo.

Also, funny background voices such as "na only you waka come", "there is God ooo", "you were not informed too", and "continue", were gotten from former first lady- Patience Jonathan.

All Nigerian Skit makers are doing skit to make money, using intellectual properties such as the above mentioned background voices without paying a kobo for them.

Comedian, Chukwuemeka Emmanuel, popularly known as Sabinus is also guilty of this act as background voices of Asari Dokubo and Patience Jonathan were heard in his comedy videos.

OPINION : I am not against people suing companies for using their intellectual properties without their consent. But he Who Comes Into Equity Must Come With Clean Hands. You cannot be suing people for what you are guilty of. How much has Sabinus given to Asari Dokubo and Patience Jonathan since he started using their intellectual properties to make money ?.

In case Sabinus doesn't know, his case can be argued in court. But that of Asari Dokubo and Patience Jonathan cannot be argued. So because Sabinus took a photo with is hands hanging, no one has the right to draw an image or snap a photo using same posture ? You call it "Intellectual property" ? Tell me you are kidding.

For me, Sabinus is the best Nigerian comedian at the moment ...I have to make it known before people say I am hating on him.

I got a new job 7th of February and the pay although not a normalised pay is very okay. The least I have received every month since I joined has been #126,000. There were months I was paid #170K ( happened twice) because it's commission based.

So far, I have been able to save #315,000 but I have a little problem.

I am a 29-year old guy who presently stays with my elder sister who also works in this company. She's a single mother of two. The apartment is a one bedroom-parlor apartment. She stays in the room while I occupy the parlor with my few properties (Mattress, Wardrobe, Plasma TV and home theatre) none of which she has because she had to abandon her husband late last year as she was being frustrated by him. She didn't pick anything while leaving, so she literally has just started buying a few things in the house. Apart from the parlor, 70% of the things in the kitchen and bathroom belong to me.

What actually happened about this was that; when she newly got this job (August, last year), she desperately needed a space as her ex husband was seriously frustrating her. She just left the husband's house with absolutely nothing like I already stated. Then as an unemployed graduate, I couldn't renew my rent which expired (November, last year). Because of this I decided to move them to her place and also shelter with her. Now my question is that, I am 29 years old, should I get a personal space with my current savings as my monthly pay seems enough or should I keep staying with her while I keep saving?
Mind you, I contribute to everything in this house, from food to water to NEPA bills and everything. Times we share the bills, other times I pay alone or she pays alone but it's all seem balanced in a way. No complaints so far.

Mind you I do not care what neighbors think as well even as they seem utterly unpleased with a man this grown staying with his sister. I do not care and also, I do not have a girlfriend so it's not about privacy or whatever.
But you know as a grown man with a lot yet to be achieved, I just seem confused.

What would you advise a brother?

thats just the truth.. You cant tell me as a lady, no man will make passes at you from birth till death, its not possible. As people say, we are a product of our choices. If you choose to be single, well, you have to bear the consequences of single life. It surely comes with boredom, loneliness and if you are not strong enough, depression sets in. She might have medical issues also that can make her to be depressed, did she speak up? Nope.

She decided to use the easy way out which is suicide. I can decide to end my life right now, but is it worth it? Nope..

The world would move on regardless. A true christian/muslim would not end their life by themselves because there has been a price that has been paid.
