Gudday guys, pls my HSPDA universal modem keeps loosing network after few minutes of connection, is there anything i can do about this? And after sometime, it comes back.

Two things to check. First enter your BIOS and run the SMART test to see if the hdd has developed a fault. If there is no problem there, go into your OS press Windows key + r and type msconfig. In the window that opens up click on the startup tab and look through the programs listed uncheck any one you don't need and then ok it and reboot.

Your hdd may be developing fault or you have a program running in the background that is causing it, some programs have problems with sleep or powersaving modes.

All right, here is the latest... the Facebook ish has stopped, working well now.. but, when I leave d system on for a very long time without operating, it will show a dark screen saying Boot file not found... insert a disc bla bla bla with the OS.

Great work here... more grease to ur elbows.. Just yesterday, I noticed that anytime I try accessing Facebook with my laptop, whether thru a link or direct, as long as it is Facebook, that will be 'it' for d system.. It will just hang there, then attempts to restart which will fail due to one stuff missing (error message). Then I'll av to shutdown and restart using the power button. The system is barely 1 month old.. hp Pavilion 15-n209sia Core i3. It started when I used d USB port to charge one China phone. Note: It's mozilla Firefox, and It opens other websites well. Thanks

Well.. GEJ's statement was soo dumb from the onset. Sometimes it leaves me wondering.

Thank you so much... a friend of mine was using this last month, and he refused to share.. it was working like madt.. lemme try it.

You end up with a bricked phone when :


1. U install apps without reading other users review, e. g some font apps, Chain fire 3D for some unrooted phones.
2. U fail to backup your stock rom before flashing a custom rom.
3. U flash a corrupt, incomplete or incompatible rom on your device.
4. U fail to replace the necessary files in a custom rom with the ones in ur stock rom when required.
5. U format system in recovery.
6. U....... the list goes on, but u dnt brick ur phone when rooting. Like a guy earlier said, 'mention just one root app or method that bricks phones'.

Chances of recovering a soft brick phone is never slim. Most often, it requires a re-installation of the stock rom. Seems like you really don't know much about this.

Unless you are saying you can flash the rom of a similar phone using the stock recovery, and that has neva worked for me.. Using Clockwork mode recovery for rooted phones has been 99.9% successful for me, and u can't use clockwork mode recovery on an unrooted phone.

Dude, there are two basic types of bricks. The soft and the hard. The soft brick can easily be fixed and recovered from, but when you hard brick a phone. It has a 90% chance of staying dead for life. No pun intended.

I know, wanted to explain it in d simplest way... As in 2 say brick is brick 4 easy understanding.... But when u soft brick an unrooted phone, chances of getting it back r slim, & moreover, u just can't easily HARD BRICK ur phone, it happens in most cases of carelessness. One more thing, root privileges is for people who knows what they are doing.

What do you mean by no risks, I've seen many people complaining about not being able to use their phones for a long time cos it's bricked and they didn't know what to do about it or have tried but couldn't fix it. Maybe it's not that common anymore because people are learning to take precautions but still, someone that is new to it needs to be reminded of the potential risk so they would be prepared in case anything goes haywire.

if u read and carefully follow procedures for the rooting of a particular phone, there is certainly no risks involved. As 4 a rooted phone, u can easily unbrick as many times as you brick, u can as well recover ur phone when Locked beyond code entries, without having to format system. These 2 above stated cases, would cost an unrooted phone user alot of Cash, and in d case of bricking, irreversible damage. Maybe we should use Google and YouTube more Often, to prevent these kind of talks.

Boko Haram has seized the northeastern Nigerian town of Chibok,
from where 276 girls were kidnapped more than six months ago
and which the government vowed to secure after the mass abduction.
The April 14 kidnapping in the impoverished town in southern
Borno state brought unprecedented global attention to the armed
Islamist group’s brutal five-year uprising.
Heads of state and top celebrities joined a viral social media
campaign calling for the rescue of the seized, mostly Christian,
schoolgirls, 219 of whom are still being held.
Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has repeatedly promised to
rescue the schoolgirls, including on Tuesday when he launched his
bid for a second term in office ahead of February 14 polls.
In a July meeting in the capital Abuja with those affected by the
kidnapping, Jonathan and top military brass also pledged to provide
better security for the town.
But the violence in the northeast has intensified since, with Boko
Haram reportedly seizing more than two dozens towns and
Nigeria’s security forces reportedly absent in many areas.
The military was not immediately available to comment on the
developments in Chibok.
But given the town’s symbolic significance, its fall will likely
raise fresh doubt about Nigeria’s ability to handle the Boko Haram
threat.
- ‘They are in control’ -
“Chibok was taken by Boko Haram. They are in control,” said
Enoch Mark, a Christian pastor whose daughter and niece are
among the hostages being held.
Mark and the senator for southern Borno, Ali Ndume, said the
militants attacked at about 4:00 pm (1500 GMT) on Thursday,
destroying communications masts and forcing residents to flee.
Ndume said that he had received calls from fleeing residents about
the attack that the town “was now under their (Boko Haram)
control”.
“There is no telephone service now in Chibok, which is why it took
time before the reports reached me,” he added.
Mark said the attack on the town appeared to come after Boko
Haram overran the towns of Hong and Gombi in neighbouring
Adamawa state following the group’s ouster from the commercial
hub of Mubi.
“They came in and engaged soldiers and vigilantes in a gunfight,”
he added.
“Some of us managed to escape. All the telecom towers in the
town were destroyed during the attack with RPGs (rocket-propelled
grenades).
“No-one can say what the situation is in the town in terms of
destruction to property.”
- Inside information? -
At the July meeting with Jonathan, Chibok community leaders
stressed that aside from the trauma of the mass kidnapping, locals
remained in daily fear of attack and pleaded for more security.
Ayuba Chibok, whose niece is among the hostages, said at the time
that people told the head of state that they “were tired of sleeping
in the bushes”.
In a series of phone calls to AFP in recent months, Chibok elders
stressed that security had continued to deteriorate, despite the
promises made at the meeting.
A senior rescue worker warned late last month that Chibok’s fall
was imminent.
Pogo Bitrus, chairman of the elders forum in Chibok, also
confirmed the attack but said Boko Haram may have had inside
information about security in the town.
“The vigilantes use shotguns and cartridges and have been short in
supply, so the leader left yesterday for Maiduguri to procure more
in the event of any attack,” he said by telephone from Abuja.
“But Boko Haram launched the attack while he was still in
Maiduguri. He was due to come today, so it looks like they knew
what was happening.”
Bitrus said the vigilantes were preparing for a counter-attack and
troops had been deployed from Damboa, 36.5 kilometres (22.5
miles) away by road to the northwest.
“I can assure you they are going to retake Chibok,” he added.
