Voodoo is a complex subject to discuss. As a religion based on spells and spirits etal and as with other spirit based religions, it have effects on people. Believe it or not.

People are suppressed, hypotised without drugs but by subtle and firm suggestions/ instructions aided by faith (in whatever they believe). The human mind is capable of doing any and every thing.

If people can believe that a man can "hear from god" in the night or can cure by flinging his handkerchief , why would it sound strange that people communicate with spirits?

shadrach77: The poster is extremely silly. Can you see oxygen with which you are breathing? How then do you believe that it exits? The truth is there is more to life than what we see physically. Certain things cannot be explained by words of mouth. Only people who have experienced it will be convinced but convincing others might be a challenge . That's why the bile teaches us that salvation is a personal issue. Let me give you another example . If your silly self had stomach ache, how would you prove it to those around you that you are not pretending and what you are feeling is real?

freecocoa: OP i don't believe many things as well, especially when it comes to the supernatural but guy somethings don make me dey reconsider my stand on the issue small small.

I've seen someone who was being shot at but the bullets didn't penetrate, i just don't know what to call that yet. Not to talk of the many tricks i have seen many abokis perform.

Not quite long ago, my younger sister was hypnotized or whatever by fraudsters and she went to my father's office, created a scene where she was asking for a large amount of money, saying stuffs like she'll kill herself if the money was not given to her etc, now this is something she won't do on a normal day(it all started after receiving a call from an unfamiliar number), it took some thunderous slaps from my dad to bring her partly back, she only regained herself fully 3 days after the incident, you won't believe that the number that called her could not be found in her call log afterwards, now how will you explain that?

The human body is like a vehicle for your spirit to experience this physical dimension. When you disengage from this focus your spirit enters a dimension different from this current one..You do not see so called " spirits" because they live in higher dimension different from our dimension.. 2. Miracles and magic both have a formula and a pattern. Btw most things if not all things have formulas and follow procedures..I also see that you are confusing rituals with magic work. Rituals are not the reason why magic works infact it has no use at all. Rituals are just props in magic work..

3. Using the bible for instance to give you examples of magic, understand that many men of God have used various supernatural means to exercise power over their world..
Moses brought victory by raising his arms. Joshua stopped the Jordan by touching it with a Holy item. Samson increased his strength by growing his hair long. Elisha healed Naaman through a complex ritual of washing. Peter also healed by his shadow . Jesus walked on water and healed a blind man by mixing his with with clay.. These are all acts and forms of magic my friend.. They also all involved the use of rituals except the one about jesus walking on water. That was just all pure intent and will but it is still magic..

The truth is all magic comes from God contrary to what many Christians believe and its God's power and it is only evil evil when we use God’s power while denying God’s personality,( in this case voodoo practitioners etc )

nyameke: you are still mixing apples and oranges here son. I have seen plenty of those videos you posted. It doesn't prove anything atleast as far as real magic is concerned. It only exposes the so called " magicians" pretending to do real magic.

Let me put it to you this way again real magick is different from what you think it is.. let me enlighten you a little. Real voodoo and Magick is all mental work. Real magick in essence involves the creatiing of change in reality using the power of the will . When our intentions are willed to manifest instantaneously and it happens, we call it a miracle or magical but in essence we are all magicians because all of our manifestations follows the same procedure. However not all manifestations works are instantaneous thus the ones that are deemed miraculous .. How fast you manifest your intentions is based on the power of your mental strength/focus/ and Faith/belief. It's all mental or spiritual work.

If you don't understand how the metaphysical world works, what I just described will seem like mamba jamba to you, but I really don't feel like going into details right now..just know that you can use the power of magic to do harm, heal the sick, cure all kinds of diseases, bend realities in your favor etc etc if you have the understanding of the mental/spiritual world. We can all do miracles and not just voodoo priest , pastors etc

1. I'm glad we agree that we create our own realities because that's a FACT and one secret kept from the masses.. people realities are created by their perceptions and subjective mind based on their acquired beliefs etc ( which unfortunately are most times faulty and limiting beliefs) and so yes I agree with your first point. Why I said earlier that atheist not believing in God does not make him non existent..
Exactly, people set their own rules, realities and believe and agree to practice in a certain way, accept things in a certain way, and as such no one will have the right to dispute any of the practice or believe. Does that make everything to seem alright .. I still answer Nope.

2. Voodoo works are not fake or tricks they are real. Did you look at the clip i posted on the site??.. The only voodoo i believe in is miracle. Every other thing is the mimic of Miracle which the only way is the use of tricks and deceit. I still challenge you to give me example of voodoo and i will tell you how it works...

3. Your so called voodoo friend is just a trickster/pretender and played on the intelligence of gullible people that's all. There are game people everywhere including fake pastors doesn't mean all pastors are fake.

We create our own realities and experiences and so you not believing in those things means that they are not evident in your reality but it doesn't make them any less True or non existent..( why atheist can disbelief in God all they want it still wouldn't make God non existent) The things that manifest in your life in this existence are the things that you believe in. All the things that you listed are all possible and can be done by anyone if you have the mental power, strength and the know how along with faith. You dont have to practice voodoo, Christianity, Islam etc or join the occult to do these so called supernatural phenomenons. You just need knowledge and most importantly understand how the metaphysical works.

So yes all the things you listed are real possible and are what we call real magic because it makes use of the metaphysical.. belief in something is a choice we all make..

Science has found a logic to that effect. Something to do with seeding of clouds with silver iodide crystals. I don't have all the details but somehow, scientists now have a backing for "rain making"

African rainmakers have existed for long, doing their thing. Making rain fall and withholding it too using incantations, herbs and more. So its not just voodoo.

What comes to your mind when some preacher shakes his hands and people fall down? Anointing or spell(a by product of voodoo) ?

ifyalways: Onyi,things like chewing bottle, voodoo to withstand bullet,rings that can make one appear and disappear at will. I don't think they qualify as magic, they are voodoo at work. Perhaps we should start by distinguishing both;voodoo and magic.

Btw, where do you place the African rain makers? voodoo or magic?
