chrisI: . 4 us in abj, we were only 35 that saw the E.D and the HR guy said that this was the last stage...that the only reason anyone would not make it in this stage is if "there are witches followin u from the village", which implied that they MIGHT not drop any...but 4 u guys in lag? am not sure, he said that lagos guyz are like times 3 of our number...they mite still drop in lag...but u gotta have hope bro...it wont concern u.........................SAY AMEN NA? grin
Well the abj HR guy could not have known how many of us got to the ED stage in lag at that time because you guys saw the ED some weeks back while in lag we saw the ED only last week. Again I think its likely that they select only the total number of people they need, to see the ED. That means if 105 people saw the ED in lag for example, it is possible that they want to recruit only 105 guys for lag TS. I mean for most of us who where hurried through the ED interview-mine lasted less than two minutes- I do not think 2 mins of interview is enough 2 dismiss someone who made it through all the previous stages to that point. Just saying tho

TomClancy: @ deturla, big congrats to you!!! I was also successful at the assessment center and was notified by a phone call. So have you guys been notified by mails of your interview appointments? Did your caller also give any indication of what to expect at the final interview? I'd imagine it might be a brief chat with our respective bosses.
Congrats to you guys, God knows I'm so happy for you all. Pls does anyone know if guys from finance stream have been called? Ifycyril how far? Do you know anyone from your group that has been called?

dr dams: Man, uve gotten d Job coc dont expect every 1 to get invite to c a whole " executive director"...
After ED na CEO oo!! Its d final 1 on 1 interview stage comon wit banks lyk gtb after panel interview..
Dr Dams you funny o! Many of these banks have the last stage of the interview for graduates conducted by a member of board or top bank official. For Access bank it used to be the MD himself Aig, for glo I understand that oga Adenuga has to interview all applicants at the last stage so its no big deal at all, and believe me everyone who makes it to the finals in this process will meet an ED too
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Replies From Guinness On Guinness Graduate Trainee 2013 by cuteyem(m): 11:20am On Jun 19, 2013
Ok guys sorry I haven't commented awhile. Well just be calm and sharp throughout. For your group exercise you guys should try to share duties among the team and avoid competing against each other. Like others said the questions will be according to your stream but expect briefs containing loads of info. It is in your best interest to sift the impirtant from the irrelevant stuff. Role play is quite interesting;cover your briefs within the alloted 10 minutes time, make use of your notes to take all necessary info and have an idea of how you'll structure the meeting before you go in. The individual presentation was 45mins to read the briefs and make note + prepare ur flipcharts (no powerpoint) and 15 minutes for presentation. Just be calm and whatever decision you make, have enough points to back it up from the briefs cos that's what's important. All the best guys!

olawunmi_samuel: Oba akran. Hope you know how to drive a manual car?

Samuel is driving part of the abilities they test for finance? Or are finance guys given cars too? I know all the rudiments of driving and Can move a car around, I only lack road experience
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Replies From Guinness On Guinness Graduate Trainee 2013 by cuteyem(m): 9:14am On Jun 15, 2013
olawunmi_samuel: i Finished late. Spent the whole day there.

1. Group discussion, they gave us a task and told us to recommend the solution. You have to work as a m. It was a sales task, so I'm guessing your's will be finance.

2.Presentation. They give u case study and tell you to recommend a solution. You'll present it in front a Panel. 15mins.

3. Role play. Like acting. You'll prbably act like a finance manager attending to customer's needs. Then they'll ask you questions.

4. The interview. Questions like Why you choose finance, your goals. It depends. We were all asked different questions. Their questions arise based on your responses.

Plus lunch was good cheesy

Thanks much Samuel, all the best! But you didn't say the venue o! Was it finally Oba Akran or the other training centre? Abeg reply and thanks

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Replies From Guinness On Guinness Graduate Trainee 2013 by cuteyem(m): 10:54am On Jun 14, 2013
Again all the best to those who have been called for the AC. Make up your mind that you will get the offer. Other open graduate positions like Pwc and Heritage Bank have 42 and 61 pages on Nairaland respectively but here we have an abysmal two pages! I believe then that the total number of remaining applicants for all the positions together are not up to 100, so if we are good, everyone of us can make the offer. So think along this line and remember...it is not a competition. Meet their requirements and you are IN!!! All the best

And that smart casual got me a little confused. What are we supposed to wear?

Hope your assessment went well Samuel! Pls I need to know the actual venue for AC. I think the venues given on the mail and the attached document are different so I need some clarification guys. Samuel pls let us know where your AC held and do give us info on what the AC was like...all the best! My AC is for Monday, 17th june

Vavi:

I really enjoyed the calibre of people I met on June 3rd.I'm the lady presenter of our group.Advice-just be yourself during the interview, try to defend everything on your CV and other documents. The group discussion is kinda absTract,at least mine was but time management is essential. Plan to use those 15mins adequately and the person presently should address the panel when presenting for the group. Wish everyone the best and hope to see you gUys there

Thanks much vavi. I already sent you a mail and I do hope you reply me...I'd like our Ghanaian friend and any other group member on nairaland to show sum identification. I'm the group moderator

cmega123: For those who haven't interview, this is for you.
Try to know the other nine persons before you guys are seperated into two groups and called in for the group discussion. This fosters cordial relationships and help eliminate awkward moments during the discussion.
If you have previous experiences of presenting a seminar before in church or school, present for your group. This would help your group.
In the personal interview, be yourself. Firstly, you would be asked to introduce yourself. Then, they would talk about you for a while. Doing this, they may get the answers to some of their prepared questions.
You would be drilled on Teamwork, Conflict and Leadership. How you responded to a negative feedback, what have you been doing since you graduated, where you think you would fit in in PwC could also be asked.
In short, just be yourself.
Success to everyone.

Wow! Different strokes for different folks as they say. Yours was pretty straightforward man! Guys if you've got any stuff on ur ceevee or application that needs defending be ready to answer qtns on it, say for example you planned a programme in the past. Then you may be asked to defend your project and dey myt just try to rattle you by asking qtns on everything on your cv. Don't fall for that. Maintain calm and confidence!

Many of these so called penetecostals are plainly ignorant. Pls spend your time studying scriptures and being guided by the Holy Spirit. Leave the catholics alone. I also was 1ce a catholic and now a pentecostal. I have many reservations and issues with the catholic church. Howeve i totally reject the notion that catholics are satanic or evil, as false! Only ignorant people will listen to the many baseless arguments presented here about 'chalices' being used in pagan and cathoic world, and other such rubbish talk
