Health / Re: Do You Also Get Unusually Dehydrated Of Late? by cuvox(m): 2:17pm On Feb 07, 2018
It's not only you

Make sure you fill your buckets with water before you leave home in the morning so you can have cold water to bath with as the sun might have boilt the water in the tank in the afternoon

Dear all,

You would have noticed recently that the heat during the day and night have been unbearably high. This is as a result of heat waves stemming from the emission of greenhouse gases.

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has warned Nigerians to prepare for more hot days and warm nights.

This preparation will require smart adaptation strategies and engaging in climate resilient practices to cope with the damage that has been done.

The common effects of heat waves on humans are dehydration which can lead to fainting or death, chickenpox, heat rash, and psychological stress.

In order to cope with the current climate conditions, experts have advised that we;

1. Should drink more water to keep hydrated. Keep a water bottle with you to remind you to take water. Avoid alcoholic and caffeinated drinks during this period.

2. Reduce intake of foods that are rich in protein because they increase metabolic heat. Fresh foods, fruits and vegetables are better options.

3. Monitor your blood pressure

4. Should, as much as possible, stay indoors between 12noon and 3pm

4. Should take cold baths before going to bed at night

Please endeavor to adhere, we need you hale and hearty! Nice day cool

NYSC / Emergency medical leave denied and I have gone home. I Need Advice On What To Do by cuvox(m): 12:03pm On Feb 06, 2018
Last month I opened a thread about my medical report

https://www.nairaland.com/4278507/stop-forging-nysc-medical-results

Well, I applied for emergency medical leave after my Local Government Inspector (LGI) saw the scan result and I told him I needed to go home. He assured me that he will follow it up as I was sick so i went home.

Turns out that my LGI was transferred before the letter was attended to by my Zonal Inspector. Long story short, the new LGI called me my Medical leave application was denied and I was asked to report to the state teaching hospital for treatment.

The problem is, I only got to know 3 days after the appendectomy surgery when I could barely walk. As it is, it's like I shouldn't have traveled and should have waited for reply.. Don't know how I could have waited when I was actually dying and there's no way I could have undergone surgery knowing no one I trust was there to really take care of me. The reply got to me 15 days after I applied for the EMERGENCY MEDICAL LEAVE.

I have my scan results, the first medical report from the government hospital and I think 1 or 2 pictures of me after the surgery (didn't know I will need them) and another report from a government hospital here immediately I was discharged from the private clinic.

My problem now is I can't travel. Today makes it 18 days since I went under the knife. And I had the surgery at a private hospital for mostly financial reasons and I dread general hospitals and their nurses. NYSC rarely attends to reports from private hospitals. I am gathering documents to go and submit at the nearest secretariat. I have been told it will be hard. What do I do.

Well,

Don't take some of your wife weird behaviours serious because of hypertension the neuron used to wire them melt sometimes when temperature is too hot or too cold.

In conclusion mostly relate with them like little girl and laugh over their drama when they unveil it.

life is simple and short dont allow your girlfriend or wife "run you down"

appreciated

Travel / Re: Dorcas Shola Fapson Vs Taxify Driver: The Full Story (Video) by cuvox(m): 5:37pm On Jan 26, 2018
Well, the social media is not a court but this is a hell hole anyways and cases like this are judged online.

the only bad thing is that it's the driver that will lose.

if he is a rapist= he loses
if he isn't a rapist= he has been accused and will be seen as one by many people. he loses also.

in cases like this I choose to remain neutral and watch things play out. this case is best meant for the court. Let court decide.

PS; I would love the Constitution to be amended so that jail term for rape and false rape accusations will be same cause honestly, a rapist and a person falsely accusing a person of rape are both beasts.

Before camp:
print COLOURED copies of your green card and call up letter. Trust me, printing ain't done in camp and those outside will charge you as high as N1000

camp officials will be on camp on Monday. make sure you reach camp on Monday afternoon/evening to get a good accommodation space.

Carry better money. Nobody is feeding you till Tuesday evening.

once you get to camp and have secured accommodation follow these steps to make your life easier.

1, locate OBS (Orientation Broadcasting Service) building and go register with them to avoid crowd. this will save you from drilling and you will have a place to always run to.

2. if you can't join OBS, Join Red Cross when you can. e go help you well well.

3. or make friends with the doctors so you can always go to the clinic

4. bathe every night and kitup before going to bed... you will need it.

5. if you want to redeploy, when you see people rushing, please don't follow them. jejely open your NYSC portal yourself, go to your dashboard, click relocation, fill the form and upload the necessary documents there. Nobody actually told me this that's why I am stuck here.

6. It's only 21 days. Have fun... though morning lectures and SAED lectures are terrible and boring... you will have them continuously...

7. Every Sunday is chicken and rice... aside that, you will be taking tea and egg and some funny soup depending on the region.

8. please if you don't have money, stay away from where they drink at the Mami market... no let any girl mumu you. seriously. Your food will lack vitamins. Buy fruit salad when you can

9. YOUR WAIST POUCH IS YOUR WIFE... ALWAYS KEEP IT WITH YOU....

10. BE ready to live with pigs in human clothing....the pigs won't have problem with this anyways. Also prayer warriors, snoring machines and the betrayers of sleep who will wake up 2AM everyday instead of 4-4.30AM

11. if you are fond of pressing phone then sleeping off, change. else before you wake up phone done lost.

That's all I can remember now.
