Na only u sabi English
Dredging river Niger ,will only make the river deep at the dredging point and will yearn for more flow of water to maintain the needed water level ,
More like the dredging point becoming the OOZE

If properly dredge from delta can allow free flow of few water bodies from Atlantic Ocean towards the dredging point

The only effects this will have if embankment is not solidly constructed along the continental shelf to avoid flooding,
There will be no much different
Once the soil texture is made up of solid particles

You can ,go into practical,
Digging a hole in the middle of a river, will draw more water from the point of flow ,while allow little or no flow of water towards the tail,

Stop typing rubbish as if dredging a river is a rocket science

In the same vein, Amaechi said Onitsha, Lokoja and Oguta ports can only become functional and useful if the River Niger is dredged up to a draft of 6 metres. In his words, “for you to have those river ports functional, you must have to dredge River Niger. For now, even if you dredge, it is still 2.5 to 3 metre draft, which determines the vessel that can go there and the minimum you can have is a six-metre vessel.”

Coming from someone who identifies as Ibo... at least you cannot claim that you are being persecuted by him

And it is impossible to dredge the rivers he is talking about?

You can dredge them, but you cannot dredge them deep enough to float ocean-going container ships, only barges.

Transport minister Amaechi explained this not too long ago, try google and maybe get the specifics of the explanation he made.

Dredging the Niger is different from building a canal possessing concrete embankments that make it (the canal) to impound water, more in the nature of a dam. I doubt if you've got enough of a technical background to understand this, but I expect you to try.

You cannot dredge the Niger deep enough because the creeks of its delta will always drain its main channel. All you would achieve is an immense amount of ecological damage/disruption. The ocean level at the mouth of the creeks would always be lower than the upper areas of landlocked Biafra.

Note also that the dams upriver in Niger state have already tampered with the volume of water getting down to the south eastern stretch of the channel.

On a more serious note a lot of such 'Hotels California' exist out there in the south eastern part of this country, literal slaughter-houses where 'you can check out but you never ever leave' to paraphrase that rock classic of the same name.

The Suez Canal is a very popular and busy shipping route. Ships in the Indian and South Atlantic Oceans would have had to travel round Africa for over a week to get to Europe and the Mediterranean Sea. The same Ships man make the same journey in less than a day just by accessing the Suez canal. The Suez canal is so narrow that a big ship called the "Evergreen" blocked it yesterday.

In the South East, 4 of the 5 states there not only have water-ways that are wider than the Suez Canal, but is much closer to the Atlantic Ocean than the Suez Canel is from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.

The River Niger from Onitsha in Anambra, the Ebonyi River in Ebonyi, Ogutal River in Imo state and Azumini blue River in Obuaku, Abia, all run to the Atlantic Ocean.

Even an O'level student of geography would easily explain to you that the concept of the Suez canal has to do with the depth of the channel as opposed to its width.

Always think deep before you come online to type nonsense

I have never been this confused in my entire life...

I have a girlfriend that we have been dating for 6 years now... We are not married because I was not stable financially but now things seems to be much better and next year should be the year....I reside in Ibadan so she came in last year after her education to get a job, she's a nurse and we were staying together up till now.

Sex has never been an issue between us up until December last year. We sleep on the same bed and we live in the same house but we have not had sex since December 2020 till date. She's right beside me as I type this message. Each time I go close to her, she tells me I am not entitled to sex because I have not paid her bride price. I just could not understand the sudden change in her attitude towards sex when wedding is next year.

She also locks her phone and even WhatsApp. Now, I am beginning to have doubt about marrying her.

She's obviously met and is sleeping with someone else

Drive her away now if you're a real man. A simp on the other hand will tolerate her atrocious behaviour and wait for the new guy to either disappoint her or take her away from him for good.

Family / Re: I Resigned From Work In Lagos, Relocated To Abuja To Be With My Girl & Get A Job by Cynocefaal: 2:51pm On Mar 25, 2021
Switchman:
Please I Need Your Candid And Long Term Advise, I Am Presently Depressed And Out

This will be a lengthy one but I promise to summarize it as much as I can.

I met a lady in her late 30s 18months ago through an online friend. I was working in Lagos while she was based and working in Abuja.

We chatted for a while before she volunteered to come to Lagos for a visit over the weekend which doesn't seem a bad idea to me cos I believed seeing in person is better than 1 million pictures.

Due to her age and desperation, we met and she liked what she saw in me and intensive talks began on how I can relocate to Abuja and get better job. I actually haven't been to Abuja so I was excited to take that move with the hope of becoming a better person and getting a better job.

I resigned from my job due to some issues as at that time which could had been managed but so I can have more time to visit and see how things are in Abuja before making my final preparation to relocate. She supports financially during those time while I use my car for ehailing business pending when I will finally relocate.

Covid 19 lock down came and all plans were halted due to restrictions on vehicular movements. Fast forward to November last year I made final plans and I agreed to finally relocate but on the conditions that we will need to get a new apartment cos I don't want to move in with her to her former apartment which was a one room self contain, we got a 1 bedroom apartment and I moved in with her. She owns 90% stake on the expenses incurred but in the spirit of hope for a better job, I will upgrade the apartment to have an equal stake in the home.

It's been 3 months now I have fully relocated and we have been cohabiting but it's been hell for me and I just need help on how to get out of this mess I put myself. No job was forth coming and due to the fact that I am home always, I have been reduced to a house help cos I am the one doing the chores, cleaning the dishes and even my laundry though she pays for her own, so many other insults and atimes it's with exchanges of words before I can take a walk just to acclimatize myself with the terrains of the area.

It's really a bad experience for a man not to have a steady source of income cos in a twinkle of an eye the love will vanish.

I love the lifestyle of Abuja cos it is less stressful than Lagos and I will really like to get a good source of income so I can get my own apartment and be free from the shackles I put myself in the name of love.

I really need help now cos I know my days are numbered and it's a matter of time before she sends me packing cos I really don't have the right to the apartment. Please house, I need your candid advise on what to do and as always constructive criticism is allowed.

Thanks
Switchman

Nigga how could you have been so stupid?

You threw your whole life into the garbage can, all because of pussy? Have you even fücked this hoe yet?

I swear I had to read this all over again grin grin grin You know the absurd part of all this is that she won't even marry you in your present condition.

Business / Re: Rabiu Blasts Dangote -- Calls To Liberalize Cement Industry by Cynocefaal: 2:27am On Mar 25, 2021
Aconomist:
The Chairman and Founder of the BUA Group, Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, has called for the liberalisation of Nigeria’s cement policy to boost production and subsequently crash the price of the commodity. Rabiu said he advised the federal government to open up the industry to allow for more players, expressing the belief that such would help to crash the price of cement in the country.

He states quote:

"Even though this cement policy is a good one, it must be done in such a way that a lot of players must come in and participate. There is no point in making a policy that only one, two, or three people are able to benefit from that policy. That does not make sense. I am benefiting from this policy, but I know it is a bad policy. So, whilst the policy is good, the way it is being administered is not good. You can’t have a policy that restricts so many people from participating, at the end of the day, you are just creating a monopoly."

Rabiu urged the federal government to open up the cement industry for more competition.

According to him, the few players in the industry, “are making so much money in the industry and Nigerians are the ones paying for this. I am part of it, but I know it is wrong. Few people are benefiting and 200 million people are suffering. The business is doing well, we are making money, but how much money do you really need?"

https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2021/02/09/bua-advocates-liberalisation-of-cement-policy-to-crash-price/

Very powerful question right there: how much money do Nigeria's thieving elite really need?

Enough to buy two private jets? A private island? Enough to pay for fairytale weddings that have the white man gaping with envy at black 'affluence'?

Or just enough for Dangote to be able to play billionaire black man and hobnob with Bill Gates (while his business practices hold more than a hundred million Nigerians in subhuman poverty?

More pedophiles in churches than all other religions combined. You have to wonder why.
What attracts pedophiles to the church.

They are respected for not getting married (instead of getting spurned, or pressured to look for a wife, as society normally behaves toward unmarried men)

Then they have access to an endless supply of young, naive boys for clandestine sexual activty. Some parents actually pay to get their kids into the altar boy program...the Catholic system is like utopia for homosexuals and paedophiles

Nnamdi Kanu is obviously paying top dollar for technical advice from experts well-seasoned in guerilla warfare

The first step is to delegitimise the authority of, and rid the homeland of agents of foreign oppression/military occupation, namely officers/men of the Hausa-Fula dominated security services

Boko Haram did same up north before they could establish their state of blood out there, and no Hausa-Fula leader of opinion/politics uttered a word of condemnation regarding such tactics. There are no police/army checkpoints within the Boko.territory of the lake Chad area.

Very hard to watch for sure. The guy in the white shirt was clearly breaking their ankles and knees in a systematic way. There is no telling who those men were, or what they were guilty or innocent of doing. This video clip is purely a display of sadistic impulses unleashed. I am not convinced that these people are terrorists, simply because they are tied up and being killed with sticks.

Those criminals.should've been summarily executed. The dude in red/white shirt knows that the police will just charge them a hundred thousand or so each and turn them loose, that's why he's doing his best to cripple them at least for a long period if not permanently.

In a society where a perp willing to pay can buy his way out of any crime committed, no matter how heinous, street justice is very important, to keep the hordes of criminal degenerates from plunging us all into chaos.
