Hi guys, I recently started driving and had the following experience, written below... (It is also a complaint / suggestion I have sent to Uber). ""Hi. I recently started driving. I was unfortunate to experience the fact that there are no "incentives" or payment protection for Uber drivers when riders ask drivers to please wait for them. On one occasion I waited for almost 2hours only to receive a low fare because the pick up and drop off locations were not too far. That said, I would suggest that Uber look into introducing a "Wait" option where the charge-per-minute increases over intervals of say 5 or 10 minutes. This is to discourage riders for unfairly "tying down" a driver for very long periods of time, and to also act as an incentive to the driver who can be driving making more money, rather than waiting. Because, i would think the Uber's goal is for both the driver and rider to be completely satisfied, which currently is not the case. It would be great if this is looked into and hopefully implemented."" I'm not sure if others have experienced this (I know some would have), but I would like to use this as a medium to help "protect" drivers by having Uber implement a "Wait" option as stated in the message above.

Wordsmith: Does anyone here listen to August Burns Red or Underoath? I prefer Underoath though. One of my favorite rock songs has to be Iris by GooGoo Dolls, Coldplay's Trouble, Keane's Try Again and She Has No Time. Ah yes, and also Until June. Lovely band. Only one album though. 3 years back another favorite of mine was Anthem Of The Angels by Breaking Benjamin. And if y'all are into alternative, try out Bloc Party. The lead singer's of Nigerian origin (Igbo). I like the way they experiment with sounds.Iris is just fuknig heavenly, reheard it sometime last month downloaded it and played it over and over again. I love Aerosmith, Coldplay, Meatloaf (bat out of hell), Seether, Theory of a dead man, Bon Jovi, U2, staind, maroon 5, mehn the list goes on. . . endless playlist, for some chill-kick-back mood |

If JayZ signs you and your hook is "JayZ signed me, I don blow, I no dey una level again (x10)" You would sell fire in Nigeria, abeg. If Jay signs me nobody go hear word, i no go shut up ![]() |
Crash naanmin: CrashI sooo second this. |
Dede1: I guess you forgot Okada riders might have guns too. Now, it becomes a matter of who is the best shot. When everybody is perceived to be packing a gun, it creates an unseen equilibrium. In USA, a policeman will always approach suspected law breaker with caution even if it is a minor traffic incident.lol too true. |
Dede1: Before Nigeria/Biafra civil war, law-abiding Nigerians were allowed to own gun and freely go to hunt. But since after the civil war, the cabals due to the fear of being ignominiously booted out of office by the angry crowd slammed gun ban on the society and gave petty thieves the leeway to be real bad.Okay, yea. But Nigerians then ARE different from Nigerians now. If just anyone in our times is granted a licence, there'd be lawlessness. People are on the edge. . . I might even shoot a couple of okada riders. . . i hate the fuqqas ![]() |
Pa22: pray this becomes the break-though we need to combat this monster! It's a virus not a monster ![]() afam4eva: I pray the cure of HIV/AIDS is never found. The world is already bad the way it is. Finding the cure of HIV will make people to live a carefree life afterall there's a tablet waiting in the corner. Don't worry mahn! "magun" still dey ![]() |
Dede1: Thanks very much for the above write-up. It is very rare to read accurate information from NL without undue influence of tribal bias. However, I guess Nigeria government is very silly with its ban on public possession of firearm. How about the law, Section 4 of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act, Cap. R11, Vol. 14, Laws of the Federation, 2004? It sucks because every firearm case does not necessarily relate to robbery.I really don't think it sucks that it's not legal to own a firearm. I think Nigeria and Nigerians are still growing and learning. As you can see from the daily hustle and bustle attitude our people, coupled with impatience and the "do-you-know-who-I-am" syndrome, people would be shooting each other like it was legal to do so. Someone has a very bad day at work + probably trying to deal with the frustration of impotence uhm. . . gets his car scratched by a danfo, he might get all trigger-happy.Like I said we are still learning, it's not very long ago that Nigerians started wearing their seat belts willingly, without thinking of LASTMA. A few years ago this wasn't the case. Also the same with littering (throwing trash out your car windows) . Not to say people are still not doing these, but we are still learning not only what is right, but what is reasonable. Legalising firearms at this level of our development, to me, is not advisable. I might not be right but that's my view, maybe not the intention of the Law Makers. Altho there's the need for solutions to self protection. I have been thinking of how to legally get a hold tasers for this purpose. |
