UrFears: First, change your address on the electoral register. Then, check for the best SIM price deal on MoneySupermarket and set up a direct debit for your SIM. Next, move your salary to a high street bank. Give it some time, and then check with a credit reference app to see if you’re eligible for a credit card. Once you’re preapproved, get a card and learn how to use it responsibly. After that, give it some more time. 2 Likes |

mauchiz:Prices of goods and services should not be controlled by a government that cannot control its borders. This is the point. The average Nigerian does not understand that prices are supposed to be controlled by market forces. For a country to be productive, it must have transparent business policies that make it more conducive to do business. No investors want to invest in a country where the prices of their products are controlled by the government. Other countries in the world have small and medium-scale businesses, and they all pay taxes and minimum wages. The average Nigerian has the mentality that the government is rich and should be able to do everything to make life easier for its citizens. The truth is, many past Nigerian leaders had the same ideology and ended up borrowing and mortgaging the future generations. Nigeria is not as rich as everyone thinks. The oil is not a blessing but a curse, and no amount of natural resources can compare to the value of people. As you rightly pointed out, how will the people survive? We have people who depend on the government and do not think of contributing anything to the country. Every nation in the world relies on its people, and in Nigeria, people have the mentality that the government needs to do something for them. Prices should be determined by demand and supply. The private sector can pay whatever they agree on for minimum wage because it is just added to the cost of the product. |

mauchiz:Nigerians are the problem in this country, not the leaders. Petrol is sold for an average of 3000 Naira per liter in the UK and other Western countries. The issue is that we have crude oil but are importing from them. You should ask yourselves why. It’s because the average Nigerian likes to chase shadows. You want things to be cheaper in Nigeria compared to our neighboring countries, while countries with sophisticated technology like the US and UK find it impossible to control their borders. We should be rioting for an increase in the minimum wage, not for the cost of things. China doesn’t care about the price of the dollar; they work hard to earn a living. As long as you keep complaining about prices, this country is not going to get better. Let me tell you a secret: virtually everything is cheaper in Nigeria, including its people. |

Does anyone know if it’s possible to negotiate at Arnold Clark? I just spoke to a consultant who said their prices are lower price guaranteed, so as such, it’s fixed. Any tips? Thanks. |

Dreydoe: No secrets. It's just God, my first three offers feel through. Probably because buyer was sceptical about the price. First ever offer was 320 I accepted buyer got cold feet. Second was 150 same thing. Third was 350 but did not follow though. So I decided I'll always counter to check the seriousness because Dan pend your domain for as long as possible to get payment through. Thanks guys for all the well wishes. Thanks to you too @thorrvik55. I can't wait for yours. 6 Likes |
