But the politicians wont let this happen because of their selfish interests.

For sentimental reasons, you may not be capable of appreciating how the forex scarcity issue is totally the reason behind the bleeped up nature of Nigeria's economy today (i.e. fuel scarcity, high fuel cost, super-high food cost, massive job losses etc). Most people would just lazily attribute it to Buhari, after all the problems started being felt when Buhari took over so it just has to be Buhari's doing; just like a market woman the other day was asked why tomatoes were expensive and she retorted "Buhari." Now if only you understand the deep rooted damage done on the economy by just a mere oil price drop , then you would understand the potential effects of further strangling the economy by cutting oil production by half.

In summary, if you think there is agony and darkness presently, then just brace up for what would happen in the next quarter when the fruits of this present pipeline bombings would mature.
What you dont seem to get is that I never attributed the current situash in the country presently to a Buhari, heck no, you're not getting my point.
Buhari, GEJ, Obasanjo, Atiku, they are all politicians to me, so I dont care who is president.
Even if Obama becomes Nigeria's president today and he fails to canvass for a restructure, there is a 70% chance he would fail.
American is way bigger country than Nigeria but we have somethings in common, the US is home to varuous ethnic nationalities and races, but they found a way to coexist using state autonomy with a weak central, that is my call.
Am laying emphasis on the structure of goverment in Nigeria, and what I am advocating for is regional autonomy, I dont care who is president.
Compare Nigeria when it was comprised of independent regional territories with what it is now, you can ask your old man if you werent around at that time.
The independent states that make up this federation have become lazy relying on the center to be fed, each region should be able to harness their own wealths for the good of their people and for the country at large.

First of all, disarm ALL Police officers of these AK-47's and FAL rifles and replace them with 9mm Beretta and Smith & Wesson Pistols.

Then a reassessment exercise which should have a psychological examination attached should be dome on ALL Police officers.

Then the remaining ones should be re-trained in batches until ALL service officers have been fully retrained.

This shiit cant continue any longer. angry
Truth is the only way the excesses of these police officers can be checked is by decentralizing the system.
Clamping down on their lawless droppings would take a local approach.

Blowing up the meagre resources the nation has and throwing 170 million people into darkness and agony, is that really the best approach to tackle the regionalism problem?
The real masses are out there even before these attacks in said agony and darkness.

The Goverment isn't listening, Nigeria can't continue this way, and if grounding the economy is a way to be heard, then fine.

The real question here is; why won't they restructure the country? Why do they have to wait until there are ethic unrests and secessionist uprisings? Why won't they heed the advises of various political pundits??

The militants are not your enemy, the federal government is.

The miscreants simply want Buhari to resign, they have said it unequivocally that they aren't ready for any negotiations. So what would you have the govt do?... The only good part of this development is that even the mumus supporting this sabotage would also suffer the consequences. By the 3rd quarter of the year, the only food Nigerians all over would be eating would be to curse buhari, and buhari still has another 3 years to go.
The goverment should restructure Nigeria and see if nothing changes, bitter truth is that nothing is working with this current set up and ethnic unrest wouldn't take the backseat anytime soon with this lope sided status quo.

When Nigeria runs a regional autonomous goverment, we experience progresses, but now? Its total stagnation.

So your hatred is with the Hausas? Mind you there are over 200+ ethnic groups in Nigeria.

Let's allow peace to rein, those countries you are thinking of running will close their borders on you oo... I hope you watch international TV and saw what happened with the Syrians.

Know what you wish for, if you are not in Nigeria then forget about Nigeria and enjoy your eldorado, don't stay there to set fire on others.
GEJ was.

Who told you I hate hausas? And why must my reasoning justify me being nigerdeltan?
I am not from the region, but I am human enough to consider putting myself in their shoes so I could understand their plight.

Peace would reign when building blocks of peace are put in place.
I cant imagine what i'd do if my region feeds a whole country at the detriment of my own backyard.

History as shown that peaceful dialogues are never taken serious in Nigeria.

I believe in Nigeria, okay? But the only way Nigeria can reach its full potential and its continued existence is by reverting to regional government, atleast resource control.

This status quo if upheld would result in madness, and violence.
Nothing is working.

Nigeria isn't one, that is the bitter truth must of you refuse to accept.

A very good question to ask op..

Those saying it's the system of government, during former President Good luck Jonathan, what type of system of government were we practising? It's unfortunate that a certain section of this country is used to crying each time.

Give Niger Delta states N1 trillion every month and nothing will change, the people are not progressive in thinking but docile and lazy and so they expext everything to be done for them.

Niger Delta leaders should answer to Niger Delta Avengers not FG!
Yes you are right, GEJ is from the Nigerdelta, and we can't say GEJ solved the nigerdelta problems, no he didn't, but atleast they felt compensated.
The truth is Nigeria isn't one, okay? The Hausas cant feed Nigeria while having their backyards in turmoil there would be anarchy.

Something needs to be done fast.

I still don't believe that the federal govt should take blame because of the type of political system we are running.

Each arm of government have their various unique responsibilities

I live in Lagos and when i pass a poorly developed area my first lamentation is "this governor need to work in this area" It never occurs to me to blame the federal government.

The Federal government have their responsibilities and the states also have theirs......An issue such as electricity, I will blame the Federal government, for an issues such as bad road in my area i will blame the state governor......

If the federal government is being harassed by everybody for every single thing that happens in their communities, how will they be able to settle down to face their own responsibilities....I think its high time the Niger Delta Leadership face up to their responsibility and their youths/people begin to hold them rightly responsible......By the way why are the Niger delta house of rep and senate members not saying anything about the plight of their people, have their tongues been blown up too......Meanwhile the avengers will not channel their energy in demanding that these guys do what the sent them their to do....
If you're being honest, you would not compare the Nigerdelta region with your street in Lagos, they just aren't the same thing.
The Nigerian state lives off the Nigerdelta, without oil money from the Nigerdelta, the nigerian economy could very well collapse, without oil from the ND, the nation's budget cant be fully funded, without oil from the delta, almost all the 36 states of the federation wont be able to pay their civil service, your street in lagos isn't same with the Nigerdelta.
Ever since the discovery of oil in oloibiri, that region has being paying the price at the detriment of their ecosystems.
The Nigerian state lives off the nigerdelta like parasites, it isn't even symbiotic in nature, we take but we don't give that much back.
It would take a lot more than a determined state governor to fully rejuvenate the region, it would take a direct approach from the cash bank not a feeder.

Yes they receive derivations and allocations but no they can't control the explorations, taxations, resources, their lands and monitor explorations, the nigerian state controls all these not their various state Governors, so why wont the nigerian state accept full responsibility?

This system of governance is pure bullocks, its high time we go back to regionalism or the nigerian state wont be at peace, or go our seperate ways, that is the pristine truth.

PoliticsRe: Why Are Niger Deltans Not Questioning Their Governors by dablazor: 6:18pm On Jun 01, 2016
Well you are right their governors and co should be held responsible, but if am being critical, its easier for blames to fly to the center because of the current system of government nigeria is practising.
Until we revert back to regionalism or better still a true federalism system of governance, the federal government would always be blamed, as the states answer to the federal government.

Christianity EtcRe: PART 2: Pastor to Atheist: Why I will NEVER be a Christian again by dablazor: 1:55pm On May 06, 2016
Am glad I received a few positive feedbacks.

I'd like to point something out, christians on this thread and it's first part are mainly filled with religion fanatics who argue only just for the sake of clarity.
Might not be all of them, but reading some comments by christians and other religion followers on here attacking atheists and agnostic alike, and gently reinterpreting their undertones one would realize, they indeed need a push to abandon their believes they already on edge, they have already lost a chunk amount of their faiths that's why most are still hanging around.‎

I'd use this medium to appeal to non-believers in here, we all know how long it took for us to shake our believes, for pete's sake, many believers were introduced to religion before they even started crawling about, it's a belief system they've trusted for decades, it's not going to be easy, it's the biggest form of brain wash in our world, and it took a lot of soul searching for most of us to realize this.

I recall before I lost my faith and was searching for the truth, during my first degree, the first time I checked foreign religion blogs where atheists and likes converge, I didn't see a gathering of sane minds, it feels like those of devil reincarnates spreading the anti-christ gospel, heck it took a lot of chutzpah for me to realize I had been fed a whole bunch of colossal guano growing up.

So we should be lenient, most believers here are searching for the truth, that's why they keep coming back, soon they'd know the truth, and hopefully not too late and it would set them free.
Again thanks for relating your story to everyone @HardMirror, that takes chutzpah.
Other contributors in here, johnydon22, urahara‎, frank317 to mention a few, your contributions have being rather compelling and most believers have seen reason because of you guys.‎
Humanity would be set free soon.
Salud!‎
Christianity EtcRe: PART 2: Pastor to Atheist: Why I will NEVER be a Christian again by dablazor:
HardMirror, this is a really nice thread, you should know I read from Part 1 without skipping a single page, read most as guest, I was forced to recall my Nairaland password as I had forgot it.
I have to admit, your story is a little similar to mine, though on a rather smaller scale, I wasn't into the evangelism brouhaha but I have read the bible over 30 times growing up back to back (although wasn't a good read because of some absurdity, most parts I try not to understand, because questions would keep pouring in)
I was born into a Christian family, brought up a Christian, from catholic to deeper life, to winners, redeem, seventh day adventist, and back to redeem I think the only denomination I never attended was a white garment church.
Growing up as a Christian was challenging because I was a curious child who applies logic, I could recall even before I was thirteen the bible confuses me a lot because somethings don't just add up, but I was so scared to ask questions, I was too scared to think, and I have to admit, I felt trapped.
I once went to my pastor when I was a teenager with some questions about Christ's sacrifice, which doesn't make sense to me, I ended up having the devil casted out of me, as my pastor could only justify my superior argument with my being possesed by the devil, I was given a special prayer session and I was convinced I was possessed too(funny). Ever since then, I never wanted to question God for I fear that's the devil tempting me, I used the 'get thee behind me satan' clause a lot back then growing up saying it silently to myself anytime these thoughts flood my mind, I felt it was the devil talking to me, I couldn't even question my belief because I always felt the devil is the only reason i'd question christianity, am sure a lot of Christians can relate to this fear if they are being honest.
Am pretty sure if we were all brought up free of religion and was then introduced to Christianity after puberty, Christianity would be extinct.
Altogether I dropped religion last year towards the end of my masters before my PhD and I wished i'd done earlier, I felt so free, I could think about anything and ask questions, I felt like I have being caged for twenty-five years, I never took cocaine before but I can tell the euphoric sensation is quite similar to that of coke fiends.
Am sure a lot of Christians are familiar with John 8:32 "For ye shall know the truth and the truth would set you free" indeed the bible got this right, and I keep thinking it's an hidden message in that book.

Lol anyway, funny thing is I still gotto church, and yeah my 'Pastor' is a good speaker, he is a good motivational speaker, the church to me since I lost my faith has being a weekly societal gathering where you come, dance, meet various busy-working friends, take pictures and all. Yes I do pay offerings as well, because I know it ain't no kid thing for a motivational speaker to stand on a podium for an hour tops, he needs to be paid. And good thing is my pastor barely quotes the bible, his teachings are based on morals.
The whole world needs to wake up, its not bad if we have a morality class every weekend, but let's not just cloud it with some sacrosanct spiel of a Jesus/God, it's stupid. The gathering is a good idea, but the god factor is wrong.
It's not fair having believers praying and fasting day in day out hoping to get answers to their pleas while abandoning hard work and placing all their bets on a god, let people know both good and bad experiences they have aren't predestined by a god, or that the affairs of this world are being controlled by a spiritual being who they can call to and he'd intervene, you reap exactly what you sow, nothing is fixed, some are lucky some aren't, no sky daddy would help you out because as far as I am concerned, he only exists in the head of his believers and outright powerless in the real world!
Most people rely so much on a god that they don't work hard as much as they need to as they believe they had done their best(even when it's not enough) and having comfort in putting the rest it all in a supposed God's hand, and once things didn't go as they anticipated because they believed, they make excuses for their imaginary sky daddy, he ain't even have to beg for it.

The Internet is killing religion, as people are beginning to see the truth, and meet others like them which they never thought existed because no one would come forward in a rather religion fanatic society.

I believe there is no god, hence agnostic-atheist, am not sure if he exists and I won't waste valuable time trying to be sure if there is a god or if there isn't but as far as I am concerned, if a god exists, he would rather have people know outright that he exists, because everyone is worshiping a god based on their societal leanings, which means most are christians because they are born in a Christian home, same with Muslims and others and they all claim to be linked to god, and if he won't clear our doubts, and show us the true way to him and he still exists despite his reluctance to clear these said doubts, then I believe he doesn't care about our affairs or our worship.
So i'd live my life free of worry and reliance, and take the Bulls by the horn, shikena.

am no more caged, and my life has being better, my studies has being swift, grades have being great, I take responsibility for everything that happens to me without wasting time on some god, my life has never being better, I feel in charge, and it feels like am truly in charge of my life.
It's the best feeling ever!!!

Hi webmasters, am a bit new in all this..
I created a support blog few weeks ago on google's blogger.com, and am thinking of using a dot tk domain name for the blog on an ephemeral basis (forwarding purpose), and i happen to read some reviews on google and i came across posts where people complain of having their domain stolen by dot tk and amongst other shady undertakings by the host site, here is my thoughts, if i were to use a dot tk for my blog it should be safe, right? since its just for forwarding purpose? and i might be wrong but i should be able to move to a .com in future without dot tk's permission, is this right also?

Thanks

I think it's a good idea to check one's partner's phone once in a while, too many shocking secrets are always there to find out.
Man that sucks, she shouldn't have kept that from you, besides she might just wanna give her friend that impression for a reason best known to her, I believe you did ask why?

I do get it, but sometimes, you'd wish you never found out.. I been in this position twice before..
Sometime ago my ex-girl had a chat with a friend and told em some crazy ass shit about me, things I always thought she adore about me, and they had a hell of a laugh out of it, man I was totally disturbed I felt betrayed and erthing, the bad side is; I really loved her, and after I confronted her about it, I figured she loved me just as much, but I couldn't just get that stick out of my head, I lost someone that loves me genuinely from prying around her fone, I always wish I could go back in time and never had look.
Sometimes, the truth should remain buried bruh, that's what I think.
