Boko Haram has always had fundamentalist ideals cloaked as a peaceful religious movement and because the initial campaign against their existence was not sustained, they morphed from a rag tag band of bandits to the well organised guerilla army they are presently.

While I cringe at the heavy-handed tactics employed by government agencies in quelling the Shiite protests, I am afraid there is very little option left to the government in this case. It is either this matter is handled with kids gloves like Boko Haram and risk another debilitating wave of militancy or the government does the needful, howbeit painful.

There is freedom of worship and association as long as it does not infringe on another citizens right or militate against national security. I grew up in Kaduna and Zaria where the Shiites have their headquarters and can tell you that the Shiites are far from a peaceful religious group.

SS has 15 who will definitely support the SE senators except for the Tuface SW 18senators who are born slaves to the fulanis except for the 3from Ekiti who will definitely show solidarity. You also forget to mention the Taraba PDP and Gombe Senators who may also due to party affiliation not support the Loan. You have no idea how politics works really.

Politics is a game of numbers. These 15 disgruntled elements from the SE are of no political consequence whatsoever. The ignorant move of these SE Senators explains why the average Igbo man is politically disadvantaged. It is simply because they are not politically savvy.

They could have teamed up with senators from other minorities in Kogi, Nassarawa, Taraba and Plateau and go see the President. Instead, they have gone to advertise their foolishness for the world to see.

The votes of the 15 senators from the SE are as useless as an eunuch's manhood. Their voting effect would be neutralised by the senators from the NC or SW alone and the proposal would pass without their support. When that happens, they either give an ultimatum or cry marginalisation as usual.

if we need those things the loan was meant to pay for, where then do we get the money to pay for those things NOW, if the loan is not taken?
Funnily, it is the same people from that side that will be shouting on social media that this Govt is not doing anything, no employment, No Food, e.t.c, forgetting that those things need money to achieve, money which their Daddies and Political god-fathers, including the "team" who visited Buhari, have looted!
