EU has already said they have gotten to the height of sanctions against Russia. It can't be worse for Russia than this.
Because of same sanctions, USA has the highest inflation rate in 40 years, prices of crude oil and gas have record highs. Russia, being the supplier of almost half of crude oil, coal and gas to the whole of Europe, cannot go down even if they lose the war. The only problem they can have is societal breakdown that would oust Putin and bring in someone that can't handle international politics like he did.
EU is now trying hard to get rid of Russian fossil fuels but the only costless option is renewable energy, which is like doing away with carbon fuels totally, and it's decades away.

There are civilian fighters who are ready to attack Russian troops but when they are killed by Russian troops, they are not considered as fighters but civilians only.

You talked about placing missiles in Ukraine, yet a simple search would show that it is not only Ukraine that borders Russia. Some NATO members also border Russia yet no missile is there so why should there be a missile in Ukraine?

Now, can you prove these 3 cases in Russia favour:
- Your neighbouring states ganging up to attack you that you have to fight to survive.

Most European Countries, especially those Baltic Countries of former USSR (Poland, Latvia, Slovakia, etc) have all ganged up against Russia, supplying Weapons to Ukraine, against Russia.

- Not being recognised as a legitimate nation by those same neighbours.
Russian Neigbours, on the prompting of their American benefactors, have said they dont recognise that Crimea is a part of Russia (even after the Crimeans did a Referendum that the Western nation themselves acclaim to be free and fair and they voted over 90% to be part of Russia but the same West, EU and Russian neighbours still say they wont agree.
Same thing with Lugansk and Donetsk Republics who have voted to break away from Ukraine.
You cant force people you maltreat to be a part of you, they will want out.

Poland, a neighbour to Russia, recently said it is ready to dedicate its country to attacks against Russia. Many neighbours of Russia, who are members of the E.U (except Belarus alone), have all bragged about how much weapons they have sent to Russia.

They have all ganged up to impose sanctions on Russia, to steal the Assets ot Russia and ordinary, Civilian Russians.

If I was Putin, I would have staged a more reasonable excuse to invade Ukraine. Maybe I would have accused them of building nuclear weapons at Chernobyl Nuclear plant or something. US-funded laboratories in Ukraine captured by Russian forces last week were conducting experiments with bat coronavirus and other dangerous pathogens, Moscow claimed on Thursday, citing documents seized at the facilities. There were allegedly plans to move on to African swine fever virus and to anthrax.

Igor Konashenkov, spokesperson for Russia’s Ministry of Defense, said that “experiments with samples of bat coronavirus were being carried out in the bio-laboratories, created and funded [by the US] in Ukraine, as documents show.” The Russian official went on to claim that in 2022 the US was intending to “work on bird, bat and reptile pathogens,” with plans to move on to research into whether those animals can “transmit African swine fever virus and anthrax.”
According to Konashenkov, the scientists were looking into, among other things, the possibility of pathogen transmission by wild birds migrating between Russia, Ukraine and other neighboring countries.

On Sunday, Russia announced that it had captured several laboratories in Ukraine. If Moscow officials are to be believed, staff at some of the facilities told Russian troops that particularly dangerous pathogens, including plague and anthrax, had been destroyed following the start of Moscow’s military offensive against Ukraine on February 24.

Konashenkov surmised that the Pentagon feared that its “secret biological experiments” would be uncovered, ordering Ukrainian authorities to dispose of evidence pointing to such research.

Responding to the allegations voiced by Russia on Wednesday, Ned Price, spokesperson for the US Department of State, accused Moscow of “intentionally spreading outright lies.” According to Price, similar claims made previously by Russia “have been debunked conclusively and repeatedly over many years.” The US official proceeded to suggest that the latest pathogen allegations were nothing more than a pretext invented by the Kremlin “in an attempt to justify its own horrific actions in Ukraine.”

Washington insisted that the “United States does not own or operate any chemical or biological laboratories in Ukraine, it is in full compliance with its obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention and Biological Weapons Convention.” The US Department of State pointed the finger at Moscow instead, accusing it of having “active chemical and biological weapons programs.”

Ukraine, too, has denied the presence of any facilities developing biological weapons on its territory.

The American embassy in Kiev confirmed that the US Department of Defense “collaborates with partner countries,” but only to “counter the threat of outbreaks.”

China, however, has made it clear that it is not entirely convinced by America’s explanations, and urged Washington to disclose relevant data “as soon as possible.”

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, its Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said that Beijing had information indicating that the said laboratories in Ukraine were just the “tip of an iceberg.” Zhao went on to claim that the Pentagon “controls 336 biological laboratories in 30 countries around the world,” with the secret program operating under the guise of efforts to “reduce biosecurity risks” and to strengthen “global public health.”

Confiscating the assets of companies that have fled Russia since the invasion of Ukraine would shatter investor confidence for decades and take Russia back to the calamitous days of the 1917 Bolshevik revolution, metals magnate Vladimir Potanin has said.

Potanin, president and biggest shareholder of Norilsk Nickel (GMKN.MM), the world's largest producer of palladium and refined nickel, said Russia should respond with pragmatism to its exclusion from swathes of the global economy.

"We should not try to 'slam the door' but endeavour to preserve Russia's economic position in those markets which we spent so long cultivating," Potanin, 61, said on the Telegram messaging app.

Potanin, one of the most prominent Russian billionaires who is not sanctioned by the West, said confiscating assets from companies that had left would put Russia out in the cold for decades, as far as investors were concerned:

"It would take us back 100 years to 1917. And the consequences - a global lack of confidence in Russia from investors - we would feel for many decades."
