When EFCC seizes a property is it with the consent of the owner? As the property is tagged a proceed of corruption so are those cattle, they fed fat of the toil and sweat of another, that is stealing, not necessarily corruption, The absolute justice is to seize them, sell them and hand the proceeds of sale to the farmers. The consent of the criminal herdsmen is not needed once their crime is established and their consent is certainly not needed.

If you sell or kill someone's livestock illegally , you are also taking that person's livelihood , Yoruba adage says whoever doesn't want you to eat / live , if you kill the person in return it's not a crime ( not literally )

If animals trample your crops , maize , cassava , you'd most likely be paid for labor , seedlings e,t,c but your land will still be there but you kill a cow , there's nothing to go back to

It gets to a point when one gets tired of counting deliberate losses and even deaths; the only option left would then be to completely get rid of the unrepentant sources of those issues and I expect the community to do just that rather than keep going for useless settlements when in less than a few weeks the perpetrators return and are armed to the teeth! I have a friend who owns hectares of farm land , oil , yam ,cocoyam, maize, sorghum, rice , cucumber, water melon, all are being rotated on different portions of the land , i have been to the farm myself ,saw the delivery of equipments, i helped purchase seeds and seedlings from agric and also dry seasons like this we drain the rivers and pack fishes then expand the rivers by so doing

My point here is some people invest heavily in agric products and farming , so if you think some farms are not worth measly 100-300k then you really need to see beyond your nose
