State visits by Leaders are not tourism, and diplomacy is not a fashion parade. Every foreign trip undertaken by a government must deliver measurable benefits to the people, including investments, technology transfer, trade agreements, factory expansion, industrial partnerships, and job creation.
During President Trump’s recent visit to China, the American delegation reportedly included a few top government officials, and many of the biggest figures in global business and technology: Consequently, huge trade deals worth several billion dollars including about 200 Boeing orders were achieved. The list of the entourage included
1. Donald J. Trump – President of the United States 2. Marco Rubio – Secretary of State 3. Pete Hegseth – Secretary of Defence 4. Elon Musk – CEO, Tesla & SpaceX 5. Jensen Huang – CEO, Nvidia 6. Tim Cook – CEO, Apple 7. Larry Fink – CEO, BlackRock 8. Stephen Schwarzman – CEO, Blackstone 9. Kelly Ortberg – CEO, Boeing 10. Brian Sikes – CEO, Cargill 11. Jane Fraser – CEO, Citigroup 12. Larry Culp – CEO, General Electric 13. David Solomon – CEO, Goldman Sachs 14. Sanjay Mehrotra – CEO, Micron Technology 15.Cristiano Amon – CEO, Qualcomm 16. Dina P. McCormick – President of Meta 17. Ryan McInerney – CEO, Visa 18. Michael Miebach – President, Mastercard 19. Jim Anderson – CEO, Coherent 20. Jacob Thaysen – CEO, Illumina
That is how serious nations approach diplomacy, by aligning foreign policy with economic expansion, industrial growth, innovation, and national productivity.
I hope that lessons can be learned from these recent visits comparing them with the President of Nigeria’s recent state visit to the United Kingdom.
A large entourage of politicians, aides, and government officials travelled, yet Nigerians are still asking a simple question: what exactly did Nigeria bring home?
Which factories are coming to Nigeria? What power, technology, manufacturing, agricultural, or industrial agreements were secured? How many direct jobs will this visit create for Nigerian youths? What investments were attracted? What measurable economic outcomes can the ordinary Nigerian point to? The delegation reportedly included: 1. President Bola Tinubu 2. Senator (Mrs) Tinubu 3.12 governors 4.9 ministers 5.7 members of the National Assembly 6. Over 20 senior State House staff 7. Over 30 security personnel 8. Over 10 domestic staff 9. Several supporters and associates
It is not enough to ride horses, wear matching uniforms, attend royal banquets, and release glossy photographs. Symbolism without substance cannot feed hungry citizens.
Today, Nigeria is in decline, battling serious insecurity, food insecurity, unemployment, a weakened naira, declining industrial productivity, and worsening poverty. At a time when millions of Nigerians struggle daily to afford food and survive economic hardship, every kobo spent on foreign trips must produce tangible national value: investments, factories, jobs, exports, infrastructure, and economic opportunities.
Nigeria needs leadership that is focused less on optics and more on productivity; less on ceremony and more on measurable economic results.
Due to the current crisis within the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party(@OfficialPDPNig) at the national level, on the 4th of November, 2025, I officially conveyed my resignation letter as a member to the leadership of the party in Sagba Abogunde, Ward 2, Ede North local government.
I thanked the party and its numerous members and supporters for the opportunities given to me to use the platform for my elections as first a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and now as Governor of Osun State.
Nigeria's defence minister, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has resigned his appointment, with immediate effect.
In a letter dated December 1, sent to President Bola Tinubu, Abubakar said he was quitting on health grounds.
President Tinubu has accepted the resignation and thanked Abubakar for his services to the nation.
President Tinubu will likely inform the Senate of Badaru's successor later this week.
Badaru Abubakar, 63, was a two-term governor of Jigawa state from 2015 to 2023. He was appointed as a minister on August 21, 2023, by President Tinubu.
His resignation comes amid President Tinubu's declaration of a national security emergency, with plans to elaborate on its scope in due course.

6th September, 2025 The Chairman and CEO X Corp. Bastrop County, Texas USA Email: press@x.com RE: MISLEADING INFORMATION AND WILLFUL, INTENTION TO FURTHERING AN IDEOLOGY CAPABLE OF SERIOUS HARM, INCITEMENT TO VIOLENCE, CYBER CRIME, HATE SPEECH TO DISCREDIT/DISPARAGE THE PRESIDENT O F THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA AND CAUSE SERIOUS THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA.
DEMAND FOR IMMEDIATE AND URGENT BAN/DEACTIVATION OF AN X ACCOUNT OWNED BY OMOYELE SOWORE THROUGH HIS VERIFIED X HANDLE @YELESOWORE OR ANY OTHER X ACCOUNT MAINTAINED BY HIM.
We detected and monitored with dismay and consternation a widely condemned publication/trending Tweet by Omoyele Sowore on his X official handle page @YeleSowore on 25th August, 2025 about 11:38 PM local time (2338 hours) WAT disparaging and ridiculing the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Tweet read: "This criminal @officialABAT actually went to Brazil to state that there is NO MORE corruption under his regime in Nigeria. What audacity to lie shamelessly!"
Those words were personally directed at Mr. President through his official communication channel @officialABAT which is the known X handle of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The said tweet is herewith attached and will be referenced on herein for emphasis and necessary action. The said tweet is still in circulation and has attracted widespread condemnation by majority of Nigerians, some of whom may resort to unwholesome activities to vent their grievance over it, especially supporters of the President who have started taking to the streets in protest, thereby creating political tension and threatening the country's national security. This is in addition to the disparaging effect the tweet has on the reputation of Mr. President and the country before the comity of nations.
The tweet under reference is against the transparency on X and Government has frowned at it and found it extremely dangerous, false, privacy violation behavior that manipulate and negatively impacts on the person of the President and the Country.
It is pertinent to bring to your knowledge that under the Nigerian Law, these quoted tweets/words constitute offence punishable in Section 51 of the Criminal Code Act Cap.77 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, which prohibits publication of false information; Sections 19,22 and 24 of the Cyber Crimes Act 2025 which prohibits and makes it an offence to spread fake news or publishing content that is deliberately misleading or deceptive, posting content that is rude, vulgar, offensive, or indecent, especially with the intent to embarrass or humiliate others, provoke ethnic, religious, or tribal hatred through online or offline statements; amounting to domestic terrorism. The Law also makes the offender and the medium through which the offence is perpetrated/propagated culpable and criminally liable too.
The author and purveyor of the inflammatory online publication against Mr. President is very much aware that the publication is also prohibited by Section 2(3) of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022 and other relevant Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
It is not in doubt that the words employed by Mr. Omoyele Sowore is misleading information, online harassment and abuse, willful intention of furthering an ideology capable of serious harm, hate speech, cause disunity, discredit/disparage the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria within the Comity of Nations to damage the image of Nigeria and cause serious threat to national security of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
It is against the above highlighted backdrop that we make an immediate and urgent demand on your Corporation to as a matter of its own policy, immediately TAKE DOWN the tweet and its attendant re-tweets.
This demand is unequivocal with its attendant consequence. Should you fail, neglect and refuse to comply with the command in this notice, the Federal Government will be compelled to take far-reaching, sweeping and across-the-board measures through our Organization, whose mandate covers such criminal acts.
In the light of the above having been made official to you, 24 hours is sufficient enough to take necessary action.
Yours Faithfully B. Bamigboye, fsi For: Director General State Services.
MossadAgent: You are calling for regime change outside an election or any other constitutional means .
You are commiting serious treasonable felony.
You have the right to protest but when you make your protest demands solely on effecting region change through instigating riots and anarchy , you are commiting not only treason but sedition.
You are also abusing the rights you enjoy under a democratic system to use your right to peaceful protest to not only seek for extra-constitutional means to overthrow the democratically elected government but also calling to an end to our democracy.
Tread wisely.
Ignorance of the law is no excuse from her.
According to you, a protest against bag governance is tantamount to call for regime change?
When Buhari, THIEF.nubu and his APC cohorts protested against GEJ, was that a felony also?
I do not understand y’all APC supporters, you can barely take 0.001% atrocities that you dish out.
You are the obvious ignoramus here. Read more and learn! Peaceful protest is a fundamental human right.
Exclusive101: Hi lifer with high IQ roaming around aimless on Nairaland I salute your foolishness. Eranko jati jati ni iwo ati babe e. You and your papa ehn, na animal una be. Again, if dem born your papa well, on the day of protest, go stop protesters and find out.
Useless son of a gun. We are talking about fundamental human rights of Nigerian citizens, their right to peaceful protest against bad governance, this APC stooge is here spewing thrash online.
Exclusive101: Everyone with contrary opinion to you foolish obidient ipob wretched souls are doing it for crumbs. Everybody know you in particular is Igbo for claiming you are not Igbo .
They say if it smell stink n reason foolishly like it then it must be it.
One of the low lifers, low IQ tribal bigot; the very cog in our wheel of progress as a nation. You’re probably one of those blindly in love with THIEF.nubu because he is Yoruba, or because he is a Muslim. Yes, a ret@rd.ed fool who was scammed along tribal/religious lines.
I need some advice from medical persons on a possible exposure to HIV.
What is the probability of contracting HIV infection after protected sex with condom and washing of the genitals with soap and water. So the story.. I had a one off sex with a lady on May 4th 2024 with condom. No oral,no kissing. After ejaculation,I removed the condom carefully, their was no condom tear/bust and went to the bathroom to wash off with soap and water ( i did not wipe off with tissue before washing off). So on 28th morning,I woke up with vomiting, diarrhea and localized abdominal pain on my lower left. Had a very mild fever the next day and I was treated for malaria and I recovered, though abdominal pain persisted for a while. I tested for HIV at 30 days post exposure and it came back negative. On 18th June 2024,the abdominal pain returned with diarrhea, lower back burning sensation and low grade fever the next day. I carried out culture test And Ulcer test, some bacteria was found and ulcer was positive. I was treated for ulcer and the abdominal pain stopped.
So my fear: 1.Can ulcer alone cause the symptoms described above? 2. Are their other possible STI/UTI test I need to carryout? 3. Is it possible that while washing off,the reminant of vaginal fluid on the pubic area can wash down to the tip of the penis and hence cause infection ( note I did not wipe off with tissue before washing off, meaning i might still have sperm at the tip)? 3. Can HIV transmit this way? 4. What are my chances that my 4 weeks negative test will not change after 3 months?
From wide search,I learnt that HIV 2 which is predominant in west Africa is a bit harder to transmit.
I'm still experiencing intermittent abdominal pain, burning sensation.
Thanks. 🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
From your symptoms, seems you had severe food poisoning. Pay attention to what you eat, source of water used for cooking and drinking.
opamoses1: I will rather prefer to deal with local government chairmen, councillors, and supervisors than some governors with 10 platoon of security or some senator or HOR that lives in Abuja and only shows up at the constituency once every 6 months.
Wake up from mental slavery.
Those A list politicians you are scared of should be the ones scared of you.
Have you seen Nwanosike in Rivers? That man is way tougher than former VP Osinbajo. No go try am o.
Goodvibes007: So you don't have corrupt politicians abroad?
Perhaps Nigeria is as rich both in wealth, human resources, and technology just as the abroad you compare Nigeria too.
There are corrupt politicians everywhere but did you see where I mentioned systems/processes? Where is our revered DSP Ekweremadu? Do you think our judicial system would have brought him to justice? Wake up!
RichBoy247: Negativity is a generationally inherited curse. Fight it now before you pass it to your incoming generation
Mediocrity is a mental disorder, go to a mental home now before it is too late. Your unborn generation do not deserve hunger and the current crop of retarded politicians.
Goodvibes007: Some health care centers built by Local government in Lagos back in 2008 before I left the country were still standing and working great when I visited Nigeria 2 years ago. Heck, they still do all the prenatal and antennal stuff like when they started almost 20 years ago. Don't paint all politicians with the same brush Mr pessimist.
If these primary care centers are that great, why does number 1 citizen export our taxes to seek healthcare in France?
Again, constitutional reform. Let me ask you a question.
When was the last time an actual research was implemented in those primary healthcare centers? Do they have EHR? I’m sure they are still carrying around physical hospital cards. So if a dying patient is brought there, it takes them 5 hours to find their case file right?
You are abroad but you praise mediocrity in your own home.
Your hatred for Nigerian good is now on another level
The day you don't have bad news to report, you write epistles to discredit and rubbish government effort.
"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem those that love her shall prosper '
Find something productive to do with your time
If you love Nigeria, go and produce food for the hungry.
This is one of the brainwashed religious citizens, I won’t banter words with you. In saner climes, constructive debates does not mean you’re looking for anything bad, it is to critique processes and in return, new idea emerges. That’s how development comes by my friend. Wake up.
Abstract. Nigeria as a federal state operates 3 executive arms of government: Federal, State and the Local government. Each executive arm receive their budgetary allocation but in the case of local governments, records show that local government funds are deposited in state coffers. In recent times, State governors have been fingered in acts of misappropriating local government funds delivered to them by federal government and as a result, has brought about heated debate amongst public officials.
While LGA autonomy is a good idea, is it really the solution to Nigeria’s underdevelopment? Absolutely NOT! The problem Nigeria is facing is more of the corrupt system and not about the executive tiers.
Debate. The problem Nigeria currently faces stems from the system/processes for fiscal transactions in government. There is no system to check and balance projects, expenditures of politicians in Nigeria. Our processes are so weak that it is easier for politicians to inflate projects by 1000000%. Hence, it is not about who handles the funds, a klept state governor is as corrupt as a rogue local government chairman. Let’s review the following points together:
1. Any country without constant power supply will remain underdeveloped. To constantly track fiscal transactions in a corrupt country, electronic signatures, electronic trails and more importantly, databases to keep records of every projects ratified and who ratified them is important. Also, our police and justice system needs vast databases to keep records of financial crime offenders such that laws can be enacted to bar such criminals from pursuing public offices.
2. Reform of our constitution and judicial reform: our current constitutional laws are lenient with thieving and corrupt politicians. There is a need to reform our constitution to make public offices massively less attractive and to make sure only candidates with no criminal background make it to the corridors of power.
3. In a country like Nigeria, there is no difference between a rogue local government chairman and a corrupt state governor. As a matter of fact, all politicians in Nigeria are the same. What the Supreme Court have succeeded in achieving is bring unto us an era of overwhelmingly inflated project amounts to construct public latrines, wooden bridges (as shown herewith) and many other useless projects.
4. The office of public procurement: Sadly the directors in these offices are stooges of corrupt politicians, who were handpicked to do their bidding. Overly inflated projects never get scrutinized, spoils of war are shared on percentages.
5. In a country with genius and intelligent youths, graduates, do you wonder why our politicians still prefer contracting foreign firms? A serious government will send their young brilliant graduates to understudy companies in America, Europe and Asia (e.g Julius Berger, CCECC); but no, Nigeria prefers wasting our commonwealth in paying work ministry workers to do nothing and massively inflate projects with foreign companies. Nigeria have coal tar which is a by-product of coal, we have other mineral resources like granite etc to deliver excellent roads. All we need is a thinking government who will put things in order and development will begin. This idea will keep Nigerian jobs for Nigerians rather than export the extremely scarce jobs abroad.
This administration in my opinion has been chasing shadows; rather than focus on reforms, they have been repeating what previous administrations have executed and expecting different results.
Nigerians should put on their thinking caps so they understand that this is NO WIN for the common man, but a sure win for politicians at the grassroots.
First, Change your the title from “pet parrot” to “wild parrot”.
Second, Instinctively, that should be the reaction from any wild caught animal. If you want a pet and you do not have the patience to train the wild ones, you have to exclusively order trained parrots.
If na you, if kidnappers/bandits kidnap you from your neighborhood, would your response be to be their friend and comedian?
Julibet: Good advice but you didn't factor in the children. He said he did a discreet DNA and the kids belong to him.
I'm sure most commenters aren't married and I'm not too but trust me, when you become a responsible parent, your concerns become secondary, women know that you'll do anything for your kids and they'll surely use it against you.
He just need to figure out a way to balance his well-being (mental health) which is greatly affected and his kids.
You don't plan to take your kids to another country like that without their mum, e no make sense. Even if their mum cheats, the kids don't understand, they need the comfort of their mum. Make una calm down reason am well.
He doesn’t need to go with those kids right now, the kids will be alright there in the UK and when they are old enough, they will find him. If because of those kids, he decides to stay back, he might not live to see those kids when they turn 18 or worse still, be in jail by that time.
Therock5555: I don't know what you stand to gain by opening a new thread to advice someone who asked for advice on his own thread, so he should leave his thread to come follow your advice.
This is unnecessary Man.
I’m experienced in such matters and I know for sure my advice deserves greater visibility. There are many guys in Edimina’s shoes absolutely clueless on how to approach the problem.
advanceDNA: You said your aggressive text will serve as evidence in the event she opts for divorce...
What will the evidence do for him in the divorce proceedings in court??
If God forbid the judge in that case is a feminist and the wife claims you abuse her psychologically, that adds weight to her claims and the event of you paying huge child support
advanceDNA: So what's the function of the evidence?
Which evidence?
If you’re talking of other evidence of the dude talking about p*ni$, well 2 wrongs don’t make a right. That’s how law works. Judge wants to see that you made legal, unaggressive efforts.
1. You mentioned in your 2 posts on your profile that your woman have been a cheat right from when you both were still in Nigeria. You made no result-based intervention even though we both know that a cheat is always a cheat.
2. You had the effrontery to bring a woman you claimed as a cheat to the UK. What were you thinking? You brought this upon yourself and my friend, I have no pity for you.
3. What is happening at work is a case with psychology. There is an “order” amongst every species of animals. Amongst cockerels and hens, it is called the “pecking order”. The most outspoken cockerel, troublesome, fierce, confident cockerel gets to mount every hen in a circle. Even most of the hens in that circle is attracted to such cockerel. This is unfortunately the situation at your wife’s job. Can you do anything about this at your wife’s workplace? Nope! Your wife is meant for the streets, she will repeat this feat any in any space or organization she finds herself especially where there is the presence of an alpha male. Why? Because your wife is a beta female, absolutely lacking in confidence, she will do anything to feel among(that explains her use of makeup to feel among). The confidence she lacks in herself, she looks for in a confident male.
Chance that your wife won’t repeat these acts of hers is if there is no attractive, outspoken alpha male at that new job.
3. What can you do? First thing is to make all your concerns known in a respectful way and document all of them. Do not ever sound aggressive. Keep the evidence with what you heard in the car with your wife and that dude.
4. Pay her no mind moving forward, appear unbothered whilst you look for every other avenue to move to another country.
5. Once you get the opportunity to move, move and never look back at her. She is gone, you can’t save her.
6. If you don’t heed to advice 4 and you continue to complain thinking you will gain control, you appear less of a man and she gets more attracted to the work dude. Also, your aggressive text will serve as evidence in the event she opts for divorce.
Clubs agree to withdraw gambling sponsorship from the front of their matchday shirts, the first UK sports league to do so.
Premier League clubs have today collectively agreed to withdraw gambling sponsorship from the front of clubs’ matchday shirts, becoming the first sports league in the UK to take such a measure voluntarily in order to reduce gambling advertising.
The announcement follows an extensive consultation involving the League, its clubs and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport as part of the Government’s ongoing review of current gambling legislation.
The Premier League is also working with other sports on the development of a new code for responsible gambling sponsorship.
To assist clubs with their transition away from shirt-front gambling sponsorship, the collective agreement will begin at the end of the 2025/26 season.
The King was captured addressing the APC presidential candidate, but it seems it doesn’t go well with the controversial flag bearer judging from his body language. The transcribed message can be found below:
You have come to Gbaramotu kingdom to showcase, to show-face yourself that you are the APC presidential candidate.
